Oh I'm so not looking forward to being cold again. That is the strangest part about P2. I just try to focus on it somehow meaning my body is burning fat and then I bury myself under 17 blankets! Good job on the 1 lb. down....only 3 to go?!? I can't wait to be there myself.

Does anybody know if an occassional Virgil's cream soda would be acceptable during P2? I'm listing the ingredients below and I don't see anything that throws a red flag.

INGREDIENTS: Purified carbonated water, GMO- free caramel color, stevia rebaudiana leaf extract, vanilla extract, natural flavors, citric acid, spices.
No Preservatives, No Caffeine And No Artificial Anything!
Gluten Free

I hope this helps.
Thanks fivenine! I think I may go to 3x per day. I'm taking 5 drops 4 x per day and I think I want to stop drops around 6pm to see if they are interfering with sleep. I have no hunger so far (but it's only day 5! ) but the sleep issue is really critical.

Anyone else have sleep issues on hcg?

I played around with the drops. My first round 15 drops 3x a day & I was starving. Then I went to 8 drops 4x a day and then I mixed the times around until it was right for me. I didn't eat or drink 15-20 min before or after. I find the pellets much easier for some weird reason. 3 under the tongue 3x a day & I am fine.

Thanks, Pandora! I'm upping my drops and decreasing the frequency. I get cranky without sleep.

HI Girls,
Today is day 5 for me, I have some hunger but I am able to drink hot tea and things to work through it. I am down 3 pds already so that is good

Glad to see everyone is hanging in there, its def motivation for me to come in here and see how everyone is doing

This is my 2nd round, the 1st time I lost 22 pds in 40 days, but I made some mistakes, the main thing was thinking I could drink alcohol, that messed me everytime. So this time around I am not drinking any booze the whole 40 days.

I have some temptation coming up this weekend, 2 bday parties, but I am going to stay strong!! I just keep thinking about those smaller size pants in my closet that I want to fit into.

I eat it all the time on P2. I seem to not have any kinds of issues with whatever brand I use. Maybe I am just lucky, or is it that I don't eat a veggie with it when I have the cottage cheese Just seem to have a hard time figuring out a veggie to have with my cottage cheese and fruit so I leave it out.

For me, I am on R1P2D5 with a starting weight of 173 and now down 3.2lbs. Following the protocol to the letter with my DH. We're weighing and measuring, with no deviations (at least not intentional ones! )

Having weird dreams and not sleeping well. Anyone else experience this? Taking 5 drops 4 X per day with the last dose around 8:30. I read someone else here takes hers at 8am, 2pm, 8pm. May try more drops at less intervals. Not sure what the best way is yet?
What does your bottle say? I just follow the instructions on the bottle. What brand of drops are you on? That makes a difference. And everyone will react differently to the drops. Some need more some need less. Just depends on your body.

I love cottage cheese with berries. Very yummy ! But a veggie ? Can't think of one either. I think this round I'm getting more adventurous and will try the cottage cheese as my lunch protein. Is it 3 oz of 2 % low fat cottage cheese. I know they have those small serving cups size that would be convenient.

AnuMed Internations e-hcg is the brand and it says 5 drops 4 times per day. It has the correct info on the bottle. Ever heard of them? We had friends used this brand and ordered it before I got on this thread.

Ok. I really need advice on this one. I was nervous when I committed to a dinner at a restaurant on my first day of P3. Now, I learn that there was a mistake and it is for the week earlier, on my VLCD17. I really don't want to lie and cancel bc it is a special dinner for my MIL. She is beyond good to me and my family. I never wanted to do a Planned Interruption or intentionally eat off Protocol. In fact, I am not 20 days in, which is required for the PI. I also wanted to be done by 1/22. Anywho, I am thinking I'll be feeling ill that night. What would the HCGers that have been around the block do? The menu has options like broiled scallops in white wine butter sauce and grilled salmon. What's the lesser of all evil: Cheat on P2? Cheat on the PI? Cancel?
Thank you!

This post has helped me organize my thoughts. I will do the scallops w/o the sauce. It will get tricky as apps and desserts get passed around. I'll use the food sensitivity issues excuse. Has anyone else been here?

I went to Christmas Eve dinner with people we didn't know that well on P2. I ate protocol food (veggies, as I had my protein before we left) and simply told them I'd been battling stomach "troubles" all day if questioned as to why I wasn't enjoying myself (and staying on protocol, btw, WAS my way of enjoying myself and feeling proud). Pass on the apps and desert. It is POSSIBLE. Believe me!

I also stuck to protocol while hosting a (crab) New Year's Eve dinner.

You do NOT need to cheat. You just need to make up your mind that P2 is more important than anything, and enjoy the company, not so much the eating.

The broiled scallops and a salad with just vinegar (hold anything that's not Protocol) is a great plan.

But you've got to decide what YOU want out of your evening!

End of sermon!

I have those this time around. They are extremely convenient No measuring, no fussing. Just open and eat Could not be simpler. I think it is 4 oz, but we are allowed 3.5 oz so I am not going to kill myself over a meazly little 1/2 oz of protein. Never bothered me before!

Never heard of them. In that case, I would stick to the instructions on the bottle. Still not sure why you are looking to switch it up. Just for the dreams? I have altered sleep patterns with hcg, no matter when I take my pellets/drops or how many I have. That won't change with your dose schedule or how much you take. But then again....it may. I know someone who it did effect, or I think it may have. Let me ask her.

Exactly this. No sermoning here. You just said what you would do (and have done) if/when faced with the situation. I have been out to a restaurant while on P2. I eat steak and salad. My DD chose to have her birthday dinner at Outback one year. I said I didn't want to go because I was stuck in P2. She said "you can have steak mommy. You love steak." How could I say no to that cute adorable little face staring at me??? So I went and ate a 4 oz steak, had the salad and a decaf coffee. Perfectly on plan and very enjoyable for us all. Telling my 9 year old I didn't want to go out for her birthday.......not fun at all Going and sticking to plan.....priceless

Thanks, Buttah! Trust me, reading WLA -- and not wanting to do protocol again anytime soon -- has me flying straight as an arrow. I mean this is a major point in the book.
So I will go and do p2, using the stomach issues as my excuse to not eat "family style." The only thing I want out of the evening is to be good company.
Congratulations, on celebrating through the holiday and staying on course.
It is admirable.
BTW, where do u get your citizens for humanity jeans? Any store, in particular?

This. Do this. You can add a plain small salad. Take your own dressing, if you want, unless you can confirm with the restaurant ahead of time that they have just vinegar available. You're going to do JUST FINE!

OK, I'm sorry, there's no way I'm going to be able to catch up with everything I've missed. I've just been running, running, running at work, putting out fires here and making people happy there.

Whew!

I didn't weigh yesterday. I did weigh this morning and I was up a bit. Understandable, due to high stress, little sleep, and almost no PA.

It will all resolve itself, so no worries.

Hope everyone is doing well!

C of A Avedon jeans are at Nordstrom (although for some reason, Nordies website doesn't call them Avedon - skinny stretch or something) and most other stores, as well as online. Watch for sales on Shopbop or Piperlime. They're expensive, but so worth it. A few of the colors are less stretchy, which I don't prefer. I love Axl (dark black) and Royal (denim). Check out the reviews!!!

I was on protocol during Mother's Day one year and my father-in-law's funeral last year - I've ordered grilled chicken breast and green beans (green beans aren't on my protocol, but I figured they were the least dangerous of the veggie choices). The funeral was more difficult - lots of food at the church - tons of desserts made by older, country ladies - they looked out of this world - I ate some slices of turkey from a sandwich tray and some vegetables from that tray and still lost the next day. Just do the best you can and you certainly won't be the only one turning down dessert.

def a cheat on p2 is worse than cheat in p3... but if you realy wanted to be good you could do steamed veggies or a house salad with lemon or vinegar.... either way in p2 you might see a gain no matter what you eat. it just depends.

A coworker friend of mine is doing hcg too on drops and she goes off plan slightly during the weekend but doesnt have the same effect as when I do it on injections. This leads me to believe that the injections are more powerful than the drops. I dont reccommend cheating at all as its just to me a waste pf time and money and sanity of course.

Thanks, Cloth. It is the isolated social situations that I dread on P2/P3. I know I'll be okay with staying on Protocol. I just don't want to come off as a person with an eating disorder or a hypochondriac with the food sensitivies. But I think that is what your 40s are all about, right? Not giving a care to what others might think of you.

LaraSuzz, Thanks for weighing in. It helps. I like the lemon on the salad idea, too.

Tricialy, From an emotional eating standpoint, the funeral must have been the toughest. I appreciate your help. Thanks!

Down another 1.4lbs this morning! I'm at 168.4 from 173 in day 6! Now I hope I can get this lack of sleep thing under control. Gonna try the melatonin tonight and see what happens.

Fivenine, you can do this! You can!

Have a great day, everybody!

Pandora, It is just melting away! Congrats!

I am R3P217, -.8. I stayed the same for 3 days. Last night, I took a detox bath and a melatonin. I had less sleep disruptions. I think those two things helped.

I really think the lack of sleep won't go away til you are done with the hcg. The hcg does work with hormones and that won't shift/change up til you are done manipulating the hormones via hcg. Sorry but it is what it is. I know when I first started the protocol a few years ago, I would get much less sleep than normal and hated it, but didn't feel the worse for it. I mean wake up at 5AM and not get back to sleep. Normal wake up time for me was 7AM so I was quite irritated, but couldn't be helped. Another answer I got from a friend doing protocol right now is that she has weird dreams while on hcg too. They don't stop til she stops the hcg. Sorry I think the results of the protocol are all worth it though. Losing 15 lbs in 21 days is way worth it
