HI Girls,
I am on day 2 of loading, this is my 2nd round, some of you may remember me from the first time around. I took my 6 weeks off in between and was able to stay within my couple pounds so that was awesome and I was eating whatever I wanted which was nice too. Thus far I have gained 1 pd loading, we will see what the scales tomorrow show! I am going to do the 40 days which puts me finishing the day before Valentines Day Would be nice to drop 30 pds this round, which would put me super close to my goal. I am not going to drink any booze this time around, last round I did a few times and I found it really slowed me down ALOT.
Keep up the good work everyone!!

Kelly

Carole, how's your sodium tracking going? Have you figured out how much you're getting on a daily basis?

Buttah, if my math skills are any good you're at 9.4 lbs dropped in 20 days, which is just under .5 lb per day, spot on where Dr S says women should expect to be. I think that's AWESOME! If you can wait a few days for TOM to come, then you should start whooshing. How's your potassium level? Since you're so close to goal and have a small/normal frame now, you may just be one of those people whose TOM water retention just affects them more than others. I know you're super frustrated right now, but you really ARE doing well. Less-than-expected results THIS week, especially due to TOM coming, doesn't necessarily predict less-than-expected results to also happen NEXT week. It's all good, stay strong through the stall.
You should wear a superhero's cape. Great post.

What a bummer! You are very patient. Are you drinking all your water? Do you shut down the water intake by 7 pm? (As I sip my tea at 8 pm) Have you tried
Peter Gillham's Natural Calm to get things moving? Logging your daily menu? Weighing your food? Could you be having a sensitivity to something you are regularly eatting?

I hope you get good news tomorrow! I hope this is helpful.

Liv, you need up your fluids. Maybe take a detox bath. I love them for so many other reasons. They are good to me, my skin, my mind. Good Luck!

Five,
If I drank anymore water I'd turn into a fish hahahaha I've honestly been drinking at least a gallon a day.

And a detox bath? That's new to me. What is that exactly? Sounds pretty intriguing.

Just did a search for detox bath and it sounds amazing. Do you add any essential oils while on P2 or do you omit that?

I do not add oil. I fill the tub with a few cups of epsom salt, baking soda, and extremely hot water. I'll soak for as long as possible, like 40 mins. I love them.

Crazy PreK Teacher (Angela),

I read in a post above that you were on hcg from March-November, and am really curious to know, did you do continuous VLCD throughout your round(s)? And did you lose all of your weight in that time (Mar-Nov)?

Thanks :-)

Hi boosya

I did do it pretty much straight through with planned interruptions (PI) for usually 4-5 days to get a build-up fats in to my system, and to recover from diet fatique. I will tell you that it was not easy, and I don't know if I even recommend unless you have a LOT to lose. I had about 120ish lbs. to lose. I had my mind made up that I was NOT going to quit. I need to add that I love protocol foods/low carb in general, and love the simplicity of the diet...as I am very busy and it helps me "know" what I buy/eat...no guessing. I did get creative which helped tremendously.
Yes...I lost it in that time frame...13 lbs. of it was in Jan.-Feb.

Thanks Angela,

I would ultimately love to lose 60 pounds. Two of my kids have birthdays at the end of this month, so I was thinking of going back on the "juice" afterwards. I have done 2 very sucessful rounds (21 days each), and lost 35 pounds total after them. That was mid-2011... I maintained within 5 pounds up or down since then, and have started and stopped too many rounds to count now....

Since October, I've put 15 pounds on. I was going to try to low-carb my way down maybe 10 of those pounds and then get back on hhcg and try to go as long as possible with some interruptions thrown in. But I am sitting here, so extremely uncomfortable in my skin, that I may just go back on this week. I will be fine skipping birthday cake at the end of the month, but depending on the dinner menu / venue, I might slip up.

I guess I need to find the willpower to do this for good! I'm a LCFriends lurker for many years, and maybe if I started posting more often that would help. Also, at my office, we are starting a Biggest Loser contest on 1/15, and will go through end of tax season, 4/15. That will be good motivation to keep on plan too!

Sorry for the novel, and thanks for your reply!

VLCD11 and I'm down 1# after showing no loss yesterday. I go back to work tomorrow after a 2.5 week break. Gotta start planning those meals to take with me. I suppose I'll be the old-school teacher now, with an apple on my desk at all times.

Liv, a meal that works well for brown bagging is a cucumber shrimp salad with ACV, sweetened with a few drops of stevia, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Congrats on your loss.

VLCD 12, I am down 1.7 this morning.

Vlcd5 and down another 1.2 for a total of 10! Started at 202.4 after loading and am now 192.4. I woild love to get down to 165 but dont know if thats gonna happen in a 40 day round. The last time I did hcg a couple years ago I found that one day here and there of refueling with fats helped me feel good and continue to use....I might try this again if needed. Good luck everyone

Morning ! R4P2D1 and weigh in 154 I can't believe that Sunday morning 12/30 I weighed 131.0 and 1 week later I did this to myself & put on 23 lbs !! So woke up a little while ago, had my pellets. Will pick up a liter of water and an apple for breakfast & head home. I have tilapia and cucumber planned for lunch. Half a grapefruit for dinner and asparagus and albacore tuna for dinner. Tomorrow I have off from work so treating myself to a mani/pedi & stock up on y P2 foods.

Quick question I have the grissini sticks. I was thinking of adding them. Do you have 1 stick 2x a day ? Thanks

Congrats on the loss, Five! And a BIG thanks for the brown bag suggestion. I'm pretty sure shrimp will be my go to protein for brown bagging. I hope I still Love shrimp after this round

Gaining 23 pounds in a week is mind blowing. Maybe a good 10 pounds is from loading and inflammation. I hope it melts away quickly for you. I saw you were going for a mani/pedi. Maybe you should bring your own oil-free products with you to be safe.

Liv, I'm sorry I didn't see this yesterday. I usually use just a tiny bit of xanthan gum to thicken liquids. Or, if you are having the grissini on your P2 and you have a coffee grinder or food mill, you can just grind up your grissini into a powder and use that to thicken. I'm sorry I'm so late to reply. How did the chili turn out?

That's a bit high, but the key is consistency while on P2, more so than the total amount unless it's super high. If you stall, you might want to lower it just a bit. But if you don't stall, the best thing is to keep it close to the same amount every day. You're doing awesome!

23 lbs is....just....WOW! It's got to be mostly water. It should come whooshing back off. If you were a fan of The Biggest Loser several years ago, one of the contestants was really critical of the show afterwards. I'm talking about Kai fron Alaska. She said that when she went home from the ranch before the finale, she gained, I think, about 30 lbs in a week from eating "normally." And it took her forever to get that back off plus additional before the finale. She said that because of that she felt that the TBL program wasn't sustainable in the long run. I'm paraphrasing all this because it's been several years since I saw it, but I felt really sorry for her when I read that interview because of all that water weight gain. At least P2 helps you whoosh water off pretty quickly! Re the grissini, I find that I do better if I have them. Other people say they don't. I have 1 stick 2 x per day, hours apart. Dr S specifically warns against having them at the same time, because of the amount of starch is too much for your system to handle all at once while on P2.

I'm down 0.4 this morning. After so many big drops in a row, that's fine. I measured as well today (just the main spots), and I'm down already a total of an inch in my waist and 1 1/2 inches in my hips!!!!! Yee hawwwwwww!!!!!!!!

I've had my coffee, now I'll go have my half grapefruit for brekkie. I'm planning chicken soup for lunch, so will start getting the prep work done on that in a few minutes. Then I'm going to get some of my "daily 15s" done before 3pm today (no specific reason, just picked that time as my goal time.) Doing exercise (walking on treadmill), play (the "chase" game with the kitty - she loves it!), prayer/meditation, housework (this sounds silly, but I specify "housework" as "not dishes or laundry" - I know, you're right, it doesn't really make sense, lol.) Then the rest of the day is just whatever I want to do. Since my work days stay so loaded, it's really nice to be able to look forward to a "no responsibility" part of the day!

Hi everyone,

I'm getting back on P2 today. I was initially going to wait until the end of the month, but I am so extremely uncomfortable in my skin that I can't wait. Also, at my office, we are doing a Biggest Loser contest which will begin on the 15th, but I am embarrassed to get on the scale and have someone see my weight as is right now .... So here I am.

I am hoping I can actively post, and this will keep me on track. I did two successful rounds in 2011, and kept most of the weight loss (30 pounds) off, but completely screwed up when October came around and there was Halloween candy all around me at my workplace. Since October, I have gained a good 10-15 pounds. I have started numerous rounds after the first two (lost count at this point), but I keep derailing. I do really good for about 1 1/2 - 2 weeks, and then I hit a brick wall. Maybe this time, when I feel myself going wayward, I can come here and get back on track!

Good luck to everyone, I hope to get to know you guys better !!!

Hello, everyone!

Cloth, still no TOM. But TOM is so unpredictable for me at this point.

You do better with the grissini? Lucky you. I never found the grissini in my first round (everything I saw had sugar or something in it), but I found Wassa crisp n lite cracker that was comparable and tasty, and bigger in size (kind of "airy"), which was okay'd by my clinic's nutritionist for Protocol. But I really think it slowed me down, so I haven't had any this round. I wonder if I should eat one. Hmmmm.
