I am happy. I do get a little hungry. I am hoping that subsides soon. I have been trying to keep to myself and not bite any heads off because I am edgy. I took a large cup of tea (lemon ginger) upstairs w me to decompress and pull myself together, but my kids are screaming at each other downstairs and that's not good.

I know I'll be over-the-moon thrilled in the end! I am going to start listing the daily loss, like Buttah lists. I think it is helpful. Thanks for asking, Bflogurl.

Just hopping in to say hello and join in. This is round "who knows?" lol. Actually, I'm calling this Round 2013-1. Easier to keep track of, I think. I started about a week ago but then had a slew of holiday invitations so I went off track and gained back what I had lost up to that point. Back on VLCD as of today. I believe the majority of that gain was water. We'll see in the morning.

Nice to meet everyone that's not in the other thread! Here's to our success!

A loss is a loss (despite the load )!! Keep up the great work! VLCD1 coming to an end... wasn't horrible- had some hunger but kept distracted. I just keep thinking of my possible weight at the end of this month to keep going!!

Hey Losers!

I'm down 2.6 today on VLCD 3. I'm happy with it. The hunger has abated. Only mildly hungry at times.

I'm below preload weight, "whew" and ready to head on down.

Yay! Awesome loss!

I can't wait to start next week. I've been able to drop some holiday weight this week just doing low carb, so hopefully I'll be able to start my hcg round at my pre-Christmas weight. Fingers crossed.

Today is VLCD1. Drinking my black coffee but looking forward to some losses!! I'm am starting with my weight almost up to my highest everI've gained 9 lbs. just since Thanksgiving and I know it is fat and not water!!! I think I need to make a list of everything I hate about being this heavy so that when I get down to a healthy weight I can remember why I CAN'T gain it all back again!
I am very rogue while on the drops so I won't post my menus (unless you want me to) but I need a place to hang out and hopefully give/get support.

Best to all!!

hi everyone, its vlcd day two for me. I've had an awful headache since yesterday and actually went to bed at 6pm it hurt so bad. Took some advil and I dont even care if its bad, at this point I feel like so nautious. blah.
so the first day went well... the first week is always a challenge filled with daydreams of what I should have eaten, and why couldnt I have low carb loaded? lol. oh well onward and upward. This cant be withdrawal, seems to me neck muscle related. if it were three days down the line I could blame it on detox. headache is going away, I love you advil.

Dropped 2 lbs of the holiday gain overnight, so below where I started, but still 2 lbs above where I stopped for those few days of "holiday revelry." It could have been much worse, I know. Yesterday was good, and today will be good as well. Have a great day, everyone!

Day 1 VLCD. Was debating last evening if I had loaded enough the last two and almost turned today into a loading day. Hope I don't get too hungry. Shocked when I got on the scale this morning. Haven't weighed myself in a while. Too afraid to. Gained 30 pounds in the last 4.5 months. How is that even possible. Went way off the deep end in what I was eating, and drinking alot of beer. How stupid. Oh well, it's done now.

VLCD2. It was touch and go yesterday. I waited too long to eat supper. It all worked out though, I am down 3.8 pounds today. It is a battle not to give up when the going gets tough. One thing I do when I get hungry is read blogs to stay focused. Does anyone have suggestions for ways to talk yourself off the ledge so to speak.

When stuff like this happens, I think to myself what will eating <insert thing here> actually do? The answers (because it won't make the problem to go away):

1. Make me feel better for a little while (good)
2. Cause me to not lose tomorrow (imagine the scale--how does it feel to STS?)
3. Cause me to GAIN tomorrow (imagine the scale--what does it look like when the last 2-4 days losses are WIPED out? How does that feel?)
4. Cause me to not lose for a week (imagine the scale--how does it feel to stall out???)
5. Cause me to feel like a failure
6. Cause me to beat myself up
7. Cause me to give up

Now...does that MOMENTARY feeling of feeling better by eating...ask yourself, IS IT WORTH IT?

Hope everything works out!

Btw, this ^^^^^ is not meant as mean or unkind. This is REALLY what I do when I want to eat emotionally. I honestly think about how I will feel when I face the inevitable scale consequences. Sometimes it keeps me from doing it, sometimes it doesn't, but it gets easier and easier and more effective the more you practice it.

Resources available?

I have the manual that come with the drops but is there a resource that explains the "whys" for the rules of this diet? I would like to know why we can't eat two veggies at the same time, etc.

Best thing for me would be to have it to read. Any help is appreciated.

You can do this. I know you can. For yourself and no one else. Stay strong!
Drink some water or tea.
Take a bubble bath.
be kind to you.

You've already got some great replies to your post. I'd like to add one. I've had some moments the last few days where I felt hungry, deprived, a little boxed-in. Today, it clicked with me that I shouldn't give in to the stress of it. Doing this protocol was a decision I made months ago. I had settled about 5 lbs out of my LDW. I had found some of the inches I had lost. I was tired of going up a couple more pounds over the weekends and turning to nut days to get back down.
I decided to just do my best to figure how to space my drops and food servings to make me feel more full. Also, I think distracting yourself is a great idea. I like to read the blogs and look for advice I can use. I am in and I am not quitting so I need to get over the discomfort. There are no cheats.
I hope this helps. I find all your posts helpful. Thank you.

I know it's really hard when you get bad news or something terrible happens. Those things happen to all of us.

But like Shelby said, the cheesecake won't make the bad news go away - it won't change what has happened into something else or make it not have happened in the first place.

It really, really IS OK to feel scared, or sad, or angry, or frustrated, or depressed, or anxious, etc. And it really, really IS OK to express those feelings. If bad news has come, you SHOULD be feeling those feelings.

Please don't try to stuff your feelings down with cheesecake. Please go ahead and feel those feelings. If you want, you can PM me or anyone else here and just get it all out.

One of the things about the hCG protocol is that it forces you to become aware of yourself and your feelings. If you're an emotional eater, like a lot of us are, and you're used to "swallowing" your feelings, you won't get to do that on protocol, since you don't get all that much food to swallow in the first place, lol.

Don't turn it inward. Don't take it out on yourself. Get it out there. Vent all you want. We're here for you.

And if you do decide to dive in to the cheesecake before you read all the great responses you've gotten here, then don't give up. "Never give up, never surrender!" That's from a movie. But it's so true. Just pick yourself up and recommit in the morning, book whatever gain you might have, and just take it day by day. After all, that's the advice you would give to any of us if we were going through this, right? It's all going to work out, and it's all going to be OK.

Looking for detailed Resource

Hi everyone,

Today is VLCD 2 and last night I didn't make it. I got up in the middle of the night and ate. I REALLY struggled with having so little to eat. I have never been on this level of dieting before and I am so disappointed in myself.

Can anyone explain to me the best way to take the drops so that I can succeed?

What damage did I do having eaten in middle of the night as far as the drops go? I know it hurt weightloss for the day but was anything else thrown out of balance now?

Thanks!

Oh sweetie I am so sorry this is difficult for you. My first round was the best ever!!! I had no cravings, no feelings of hunger except when mealtimes rolled around and then when I ate the piddly little food we are allowed I felt satisfied. Since then, well I did make it to goal, but my life has been turned upside down. Trying to get back down now.
This round, the cravings are killer and I want to eat all the food I make for my family--who is not even low carb let alone low calorie

What are you doing now? In order for us to help you, let us know when you are taking the drops, how many and if you are waiting the 15 mins before AND after eating/drinking to have them. I have been on the drops for many rounds and will help you there. What foods are you eating and what times? Maybe you need to switch up your food? Some find that they are hungry for the first few days of the VLCDs and need to just wait it out. Or drink more tea and coffee in between meals.

Most importantly, remember this "If I can do this, you can do this!" You will do this!!! Hang in there

Sorry this seems to have been overlooked. Or maybe it was because we don't have any answers for you. Dr Simeon's created this plan and I would highly recommend reading his manuscript called "Pounds and Inches". You can read it online for free

All I can offer fr the science behind the program is what I have heard passed on from other sources. Dr S planned on this manuscript being further studied and researched as to the why's of his plan working. What I have heard about the food--the reason for no mixing of the veggies is because your body has an easier time digesting only 1 at a time. Think of this as a detox or elimination diet. Dr S also believed that if we can find any triggers to what foods make us not lose, then we will be better off. Doing the hcg diet I have heard stories from many here that "cabbage makes me not lose" or "I don't lose if I eat chicken" or "I cannot have apples and lose". So you will learn what your body likes and dislikes. The less food consumed, the easier to find the culprit.

Is there room for me on this ledge? Just kidding. I'll be ok. I did wake up to a pound gain. I know it was bc I ate sauerkraut yesterday. I am sensitive to sodium. I did drink a ton of water, but maybe it wasn't enough bc I am thirsty.
I will keep plugging away. I will weigh my food and log to ensure it is the correct amount. I will not drink coffee within 30-60 mins of drops. I am about to take a detox bath. I will drink a gallon of water today, mostly, through herbal teas.
Tomorrow, I should have some good news.

2 LBS in 2 days Super motivated now!!
Slight cravings but subside with chugs of water.

I found Walden Farms dressing in my local Food Lion (I live in NC) the bacon ranch is great. No artificial after taste and fills that creamy dressing craving.

I am finding that the lean ground beef recipes fill me up the most. Such as; taco lettuce wraps, Chili or a bun less burger.

Stick with it everyone!
