Can someone help me calculate percentages?
I've been looking all over this site, as well as trying to google, how to come up with the percentages my caloric intake comes to. I have the total grams of fat/ carbs/ protein, but can't find anything to plug those in to get an accurate calculation. Also, I tried reading some of the threads, and manually calculate some people's percentages they list, but it doesn't work out for me
...........Can you help me out here? I'm in P2 right now, and have decided to try fat fasts on the weekend, and keep with the VLCD during the week. Will keep me a bit more sane and let me enjoy the weekend dinners with my family... |

I actually plug my foods into ****** and it does it for me (graph at the bottom) but if you want to do it manually...
number of grams of carbs x 4 = number of calories from carbs number of grams of protein x 4 = number of calories from protein number of grams of fat x 9 = number of calories from fat add all calories together = total calories Calories from carbs / total calories * 100 = % of calories from carbs Calories from protein / total calories * 100 = % of calories from protein Calories from fat / total calories * 100 = % of calories from fat HTH |

Thanks Shelby, that does help!!! I use an online nutrition tracker to track (or did when I tracked
), but I couldn't find percentages, only calories from and total grams...Last edited by Maryposa; 03-06-2013 at 10:18 AM.. Reason: edited to remove reference to fat secret |
