pre-round experiment
I will be joining the inevitable crowd in Jan. for my 3rd round on hhcg. My first two rounds were successful, however, I, like many, gained it all back each time because I went crazy after my rounds. Maybe I'm being unrealistic to think it won't happen again, but I thought I would try something to prepare for another round. For the month of Dec. I will eat P4 style. Basically low carb (and wine
) and the occasional treat (maybe once or twice a week, but it has to great, not just something to have just because I can). My hope is to maintain my weight through Dec., do a round of P2, then 3 weeks P3 then back to P4. If I can maintain through Dec., then I should be better prepared to know that I CAN maintain my loss after my next round.Does that make sense? Does it sound realistic?

I think it makes perfect sense. I don't start a new round til I can get a handle on my regular eating. I was going to start a round in Jan too, but decided to start sooner. I cannot wait!!! I think you can maintain through the holidays. I was going to JUDDD through Thanksgiving and Christmas, but got sick and out the window went my plan. I cam still battling this virus (laryngitis was last week) so I am not well enough to want to follow any plan. Hoping to get back in control this week--today actually!
Happy holidays to you!!!

I feel your pain. It's so hard to maintain the losses, but it should be the easiest portion of the plan.
Did you stabilize well during your P3s? Was it just overindulgence on P4 that got you? It's the "catch it at 2lbs" portion that's hardest for me. If I'm on vacation, doing a CD or even light LC day after an indulgence is really hard while travelling . You may want to take this month to refeed. I took 2 months this spring to try and reboot my metabollic rate. Did lots of reading on it and found that too low cal for too long was killing my metabollic rate. Just checking to see if this is an underlying cause?I'm starting w. loading on Christmas eve and day, or maybe day and day after I'm working back down from my recent vacation gain. Only 6 more lbs to get back to where I stabilized after my last round. If I can do that soon (this week please!! ) and maintain there through Chirstmas, I should be in good shape to start another round too. I also am adding back exercise more regularly and will keep it up during this P2 (assuming I feel up to it, which I should). It'll be nice to lose with you agin. Hope you're mentally prepared for the 12 week plan, not just the 3 week plan. I've told myself this lately and it does help adjust my thinking. I'm making good, healthy choices and remaining in control for 12 weeks, not just 23 days. ![]()

Thanks ladies! I knew I could count on you two for great insight!! I've really just been thinking about what I can do for the rest of my life, not just after a round. I'm getting too old to keep yo-yoing
I have really thought about JUDDD or some type of IF that allows a greater variety of foods, but wondering if I could handle the days of lack of food for the rest of my life.I'm really hoping that P4 type eating will help me maintain IF I don't go crazy. That's a big IF because that's how I gain all the losses back ![]() Best to you both as we head into the holidays. No need to overindulge, just enjoy!! |
