~~*ROGUE HCG THREAD*~~week of 11/26/12
I didn't see a weekly rogue thread for this week so if there already is one, just point me in that direction. If not, now we have one
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi ladies....I'm baaaaaaaaack! (sad and happy about that!). Just a quick recap--I think this will be my 5th round of HCG in a little over a year and a half. I started this journey at 196 lbs and got to 165 lbs with my first 63 day round! After that I've had a hard time stabilizing but did fairly well as long as I ate strict Paleo (no wheat, no sugar, no dairy) and found that my body liked being right around 170 lbs (a nice size 12 for me since I am large boned--really I am! LOL) Well, after round 4 I got down to 170 or so and then decided to try The No S way of eating. I stuck with it religiously for almost 2 months with NOT ONE cheat day...and gained at least 5 lbs because of it I wanted so badly for it to work because it's so liveable! My body is just SUPER sensitive to grains and sugar and couldn't handle the S days where you could have those things. Then my 40th birthday happened and Thanksgiving (which included a week at the beach in the Outer Banks of NC) and lots of food and drink etc... And then I wasn't in my size 12's anymore (I truly care more about that than my weight) and even some of my 14's were getting tight so I knew I had to do something ASAP or the holidays would only make things worse. I was SO scared to get on the scale after not stepping on it for months so I started this round on Monday without weighing myself. Today I stepped on for the first time and was 182.8. Not horrid but not great either. BUT...I should be able to get back to 170 by the end of this round (my losses rarely go higher than 10-13 lbs in a 23 day round). I am pretty rogue and found that my rogue rounds (2, 3 and 4) netted me the same losses as my first 63 day round where I was TOTALLY by the book! Some of my rogueness includes: *1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee (2-4T a day) *pretty much all low-carb veggies--my favs are broccoli, zucchini and brussel sprouts *all variations of super lean meats but not much red meat- ground turkey, fat free turkey hot dogs, boneless lean pork chops *1 piece of sugar free chocolate a day (1 Hershey's miniture dark chocolate) *100 calorie bags of popcorn--probably 3-4 bags a week *a rice cake here or there when my stomach feels like it's eating itself *no grassini or melba and very little fruit *1 egg and 2-3 egg whites as a meal with veggies from time to time And probably a few more I am forgetting but I basically worry more about staying in the calorie range (500-600) and eating very low fat and no sugar than I worry about following the protocol to the T and it hasn't seemed to hurt my losses in the past So here's to Holiday HCG and getting skinny for Santa
![]() I am rooting for you ![]() ![]() ![]() Won't join you for another week or so though. Enjoy your first week's losses. The best part of the protocol--the load and then the first week. |
Sharing time! What's your favorite rogue meal on P2? I'd have to say mine is faux spaghetti with meatballs!
I use my amazing veggie spiral slicer and make "noodles" out of zucchini. I make meatballs (usually use ground turkey since I can't really tell too much of a difference between that and really lean beef and the fat is lower). Make a sauce from crushed tomatoes and then sprinkle on either some FF parm or if I'm feeling REALLY rogue-ish I use my expensive block of high quality parm from Whole Foods and grate just a little bit on top ![]() So what's yours? |
I don't plan to start until Jan. but I go rogue very similar to what you describe. One of my fav. filling meals is shiritaki noodles (not the tofu type) w/ a bit of spaghetti sauce and some ground turkey or beef (I can usually get away with using only 2 oz. of protein and saving the other portion for when I get the hungries!!)
One thing I plan on getting for this round that I never used before are the Magic Pop crisps!! |
MMMMM-they are a large (about the size of a tortilla) crisp (can't remember if they are made w/ popcorn or rice or both). They are only 15 cals. for a whole crisp and they are very satisfying. They have savory and sweet type. I got the tip over on the JUDDD thread. I found them at my local Fred Meyer (Kroger) but not at all of them. Usually there is a gal giving out samples on weekends!! Hope you can find them!
Hi Nicole,
It sounds like you and I are doing the exact same thing as we head into the holidays. I, too, have had great success with following HHCG strict protocol in the past but have put on about 10 lbs over the last 6 months and hope to shed it by Christmas. I also chose not to load. On day two and not yet feeling the yuckies. Tomorrow I'm sure I will. I hope you post daily with your results as it will help me know that I'm doing the right "rogue" things. Thanks! |
ooh i like the favorite rogue recipe idea! Among my favorites: devilled eggs (made with mayo and whatever else I feel like mixing in), Philly cheese steak sandwich filling (Steakums with peppers, onions, and mushrooms with a bit of butter), cream cheese muffins, and popcorn.
