I AM COOOOLD !!!

I am at the end of P2. Many folks I know on hCG were cold the whole round. Not me. I had one or two days in a row where I was really cold, but that's it. Does that mean my hypothalamus did NOT reset ?

I've been POP except for 1 cheat meal around late October. Otherwise, only OP foods.

Anyone else NOT have the shivers until the very end ?

Also, I'm itching like crazy. I do know that's the skin contracting and healing itself after losing so much in such a short amount of time. Maybe it goes hand-in-hand.

Just wondering if y'all have been there ... or not.

Also, my skin is itchy too. My stomach and thighs. I was wondering about that i thought skin was itchy when it was stretching not shrinking! !!
Sorry i couldn't help.

I am freezing and it definitely is not cold in my home! My DH and children think I'm crazy. I don't experience the itching....just the extreme coldness. I never imagined that it was the effects of the hCG!

I'm P4 and still freezing. Is it possible I'm missing my lost body fat? If that's the case I prefer to be cold, LOL!!!

According to an article on live strong:

Quote:
Calorie Conservation
If you quickly reduce your caloric intake, the body often responds negatively by going into conservation mode. As a result, instead of using stored calories to keep you warm as it would under normal circumstances, your body will start to ration them off for more vital needs. Berger Mitchell, a nutrition consultant, explains that "having cold hands and feet all the time is a sign that the body is conserving calories rather than burning them."

There is a different explanation that is perhaps more pertinent to hhCG...

Fasting increases the blood flow to your body fat. So when you are fasting, more blood is traveling to your body fat, to help move it to your muscles where it can be burned as a fuel. Due to this increased travel to your body fat, micro-vasodilation occurs. It is called adipose tissue blood flow--blood flow is diverted to fat cells and the rest of the body, slightly deprived of normal blood flow, shivers.

Also to the OP, being cold and the hypothalamus reset are not related. If you are JUST getting cold at the end of your round, I'd say it's time to call it. You may be hitting your metabolic limit. Itching with a rash is related to detox. Without a rash is related to skin shrinkage, as you surmised.

What if you have been cold from like the 2nd week until I am on day 22?? If you are still losing? I wanted to go atleast one more week.

Honestly, I think you are probably fine, in that case. You've had it most of your round, you are still losing, and feel ok, so it seems right to continue. If you stop losing or start to feel run down, then reassess, especially since you are past the 21 day mark. Congrats on getting this far and having a great round!

Thanks Shebyla! I wanted to ask you also something I posted about but nobody answered. Did you find that losing so fast in the first round or any of them caused everything to just get deflated feeling? I never lost this fast on atkins and lost weight all over slow enough like around 2lbs a week that I didn't really experience much loose skin. Does that improve in p3?

Hi Shanan. Sorry your question got overlooked! I did experience some "deflation" of some of my parts right after my last rounds (the three "goal" rounds). My skin was a little saggy, particularly on my legs (my trouble spots) and the...ehem...girls also took a bit of a gravity dive! Anyway, I found that during and after P3, my parts re-inflated properly. There really IS reshaping that goes on during P3! The skin on my legs tightened up (although not as much as I would like! but like I said, trouble spots!) and the girls are back to normal. I will say that the amount I experienced was relatively minor probably due to the fact that I continued mild exercise during all of my P2's.

Does that help?

Yes I was worried because my tummy was droopy and inner thighs lol these areas always got better looking during low carb not worse so while I am pleased with the 2 pants sizes I've lost I was really hoping it would improve on p3 I haven't worked out since starting p2 since I already have a physical job and was afraid to do anything extra. I worked out almost daily for a month prior to starting p2 but didn't feel like that was long enough for me to be considered a regular exerciser. I do plan on getting back to at as soon as I start p3. Thanks for the insight!

weightlifting in P3

SHELBYLA-Did exercise in p2 make your losses smaller? I really want to continue lifting. Should i up my calories in p2?

Tameka! I don't think the exercise made me lose less. In fact, no where in P&I does it say that you SHOULDN'T exercise, just that unaccustomed exercise can make you retain water weight. I think as long as you are currently doing it, you could keep going. If you feel yourself getting worn down or you have scale bumps that bother you too much, then you can cut back or stop.
