What a positive and motivating first post!

I had a huge craving for cream cheese spread all day...which is weird for a person that doesn't normally care all that much about cream cheese We had our big weekly Monday morning meeting today where there are always bagels and cream cheese, and I just wanted to run away with the tub of chive cream cheese and a spoon. Haha.

I think I shall eat cream cheese muffins as a FF CD tomorrow. Take THAT, cream cheese craving.

OK WTH...... I am UP and for absolutely no d@m good reason at all. I swear. I pinky swear. I have been:
Eating almost completely clean P3 (AND I'm well past that stage since July)
drinking all my water
sleeping
taking all my vitamins
tracking calories
eating only to hunger - in fact, just getting rid of hunger and walking away

and yet, weight is up, jeans are tight, and I am getting pizzed off. I know my meds are possible weight gainers/water holders, but come ON! I see absolutely no reason for this spike. It's as if my body says, "well, see how long you can hold out!"
Veggies - check
limited coconut oil - check
limited dairy - check
clean meats - check
limited nuts - check
VERY limited sugar - check (check-check - 180 calories of dark chocolate in a week)
limited starchy carbs - one small bag of popcorn, two servings of gluten free pizza over a week
limited alcohol, and no sugary ones - a couple glasses of wine over a week period

JUDDD DD at maintenance level cals for two times a week, sometimes a third - usually a MD for the third. NOT Up UP and AWAY days at all. I did have a little wheat in mushroom soup and one ezekiel wrap a few days ago, after giving up wheat for quite a while.

I have no more TOM, haven't even spotted in almost a year. Sometimes I feel "cyclic" but I don't know how to explain it.
This better be bloat only! but it feels like a muffin top starting to hang around! My hormones must be whack?! This makes no sense. When I blow it, I own it. I have NOT blown it, at all!

Thanks Shelby! Glad to be able to come here and vent, share, experiment with you all!

cocoa! at your cream cheese craving. Still haven't had any this p3/4. I'm sure there'll be some sf cheesecake in my near future.

Amy-aren't you in P2? CD? I'm lost. Come post more

See you tomorrow, I'm sure it'll be CDville for me. Made some bacon but didn't want to bake them right then, so I rubbed the grease onto the chicken and seasoned it, wrapped it in foil in the fridge. I'll roast them tomorrow and hope they'll make a delicious and effective CD.

Julie!! I thought about making that too. Then I'd just eat cheesecake for dinner every night, like a responsible adult.

I just realized I'm out of cupcake liners, so will postpone CC muffins until further notice. I'd risk it without the liners but have a feeling that they will be moist and sticky. I've never made them before and have wanted to try! Changing tomorrow to an egg day, probably. Although egg salad is awesome, so I'm okay with that!

Hello everyone!

P3 is going ok so far. I've been very careful to consider what to eat before I eat it. So far no gains. I thoroughly enjoyed my guacamole, had it for lunch and then supper on the same day, LOL!

My very next craving is cream cheese! And here everyone is talking about cream cheese muffins. Does anyone have a recipe to share with me? Sounds so yummy

C'Marie hope you get that gain figured out :/

Hi all... I'm down 2 lbs with my low carb day, now 4 lbs more to go and I will be able to relax a little. I really ate a lot and I was expecting to see the same number as yesterday. I'm happy with that cause a cd would net me close to the same with so much more torture.

I had a 3 egg omlet with cream and cheddar Pace picante salsa
coffee with cream and splenda
two baby bell cheeses
2 chicken thighs 2 italian sausages
mushrooms and onions
iceberg lettuce with blue cheese
pork roast
coke zero

=) Thanks for starting the new thread Shelby!
C'Marie~Sometimes you do nothing wrong and your body says heres some weight... could it be stress? Low Vitamin D can cause fluctuations even! BUt youre taking vitamins... hope it goes soon... maybe constipation?

Someone somewhere in here mentioned SF ice cream, but I can't find where. Anyone?

Also, P4 starts for me today. I'm just a fraction above LDW, still very comfortably in my window (so grateful). But I have no desire to mess around with carbs or sugar unless it's a dire emergency. And if I do, it will be a small portion on an otherwise very healthy eating day, hunger permitting.

That's how I'm gonna roll.

Buttah-roll on GF!! you're doing great!! WTG!! Not sure about the SF ice cream? I get gelato w.o. sugar added, but that's a local shop, and we haven't done that in a while.

Lara-woo-hooo! That's the way to do it. I'm sure you'll drift back down this week

Shrinking- I don't make the muffins but do make the cheesecake (I suppose that could be made in a muffin tin?). There are lots of good recipes here in the recipe room. I always choose one w. several reviews as I like to hear how it's gone for others . Great job on P3!!

Cocoa- egg salad! I get the relish w/ Splenda and that makes it even yummier for me!! Enjoy!!

I'm up today. Which is both deserved and totally fine! You do NOT want to hear what I ate yesterday!! Suffice it to say, I have now hidden the Halloween candy and we all will be better off for it!! I also forgot my nighttime dose of meds too, which I'm sure isn't helping things! I'm gonna' do clean P3 today. Got chicken thigh/legs to bake and I'll likely add some eggs too. Kinda' a chicken day (if you count the embryos) . It's all good. Hope the low carb levels don't impact my temps/thyroid. Trying to find the happy medium btw. LC enough to stick the weight and high enough to keep my body humming along! There is certainly room in the "middle" that I have yet to explore!

Have a great day all!! Go vote!! I'm trying not to hear "results" until the final ones are in. All the in between stuff is just hype!

I was thoroughly unhappy with my last doctor's visit. I had a new nurse and she weighed me, gave me my B12 shot and sent me on my way. I told her it was my last visit, expecting her to get out the measuring tape, and she just said, "Okay let us know if you need anything else". On a brighter note, I am under my window.

Could it be extra salt or just not enough water? That is odd. I bet it will go down on it's own, and though it's easier said than done, try not to sweat it too much! You're doing everything right!

It may have been me. I really love the So Delicious Brand Sugar Free Coconut Milk Ice Cream. It's yummmmmmmmy! They have it in Mint Chocolate Chip at my local health food store. (Need to go get some)

Welcome to P4. I have to say I've been eating Carbs in P4 a lot more than planned and I'm maintaining amazingly well. Will get to that further down the thread though.... I know you and I are both on edge today hoping for the same thing... I sure hope it all works out.

Ugh this election stuff is going to give me a heart attack. I'm so ready for it to be over!!! I agree, wait on lines and GO VOTE! I'm in Florida and I keep hearing about the lines being insane. That's why we did a mail in vote (but walked it into the local polling place)

Sorry you are up, but overall it seems you are doing well!

As for me, I am in SHOCK this morning. COMPLETE AND TOTAL SHOCK!

I was horrible this weekend with my eating... I had a boat load of Halloween Candy, I had a sandwich, chick fil a, french fries, a Salted Caramel Mocha from Starbucks, a Bagel, all kinds of illegal things and I felt it. I felt like CRAP on Sunday and I was certain the scale was up and my guess was that it would be up 3-4 lbs over window so I didn't even weigh yesterday.

Yesterday I did my "meat day" which was Bacon and Sausage for Breakfast, Cheeseburger for LUnch, Steak and Broccoli for dinner. Figured it would shed maybe 2lbs and get me closer to window, but then I was weak and had a bunch of pineapple and then "Blew it' and had a few chocolates from halloween. So I assumed it was going to be a CD in vain.

Got on the scale this morning and I am IN WINDOW and only 1.2 over LDW!!! WHAT? How did that happen? Am I really now in a place where I can have sugar and carbs and still maintain? How? I don't know but I"m taking it and RUNNNNNNIIIIIINNNNGGGGGG!

Stalker guy flaked out on me big time. He didn't even call me Friday night. He left his shirt at my house the last time I saw him and every time I see it I want to throw it away.
Up until then he was texting every day. I was relieved, and spent the weekend all by myself(for the most part) and I was really okay with it. It's like I'm on a man diet... but if I really see one I want, I will splurge, haha.

After 2 months on vlcd I'm loving P3!! I had red peppers stuffed with egg salad for breakfast!! So yummy

Thanks Julie, I checked out the recipes and it will help a lot for ideas to keep it fresh and interesting. Makes the second round easier to consider when I know there's lots of variety in the following phases.

Back to work for me

That's really how it is supposed to be? I can have some carbs now and I won't gain? That is AMAZING and EXCITING. I won't take advantage or over do it though.

I hope your meaty fatty day works out for you!!!!

Hi guys.

Still struggling a bit over here. Really tired and generally feeling kinda run down. I think it's mostly stress which can really impact my thyroid, even now. I may or may not be getting sick, which also can happen when I go a little hypo.

My big work project is wrapping up it's first phase and it's really REALLY not something that I am very proud of. Hard to put 2 years of your life into something that turns out like that (can anyone say POS?). I am trying to take a philosophical approach and not take it personally or care or whatever but...a little too Type A over here to do that entirely successfully.

Personal life is kinda stagnant. Like Lara, I think I need to date myself for a little while. Although short in duration, the last one really threw me for a loop. I haven't texted or called him in almost two weeks and I am trying to tell myself that I do NOT want to be doing that from a place of vulnerability--if I do it at all, it needs to come from a place of strength. Still hard though when I am missing him--or at least that fun fun endorphin rush that you get with mutual attraction of all the right kinds.

Scale was up a bit more this morning but I wasn't surprised given the general malaise that I am feeling. Tired, achy, down, ya know? Anyway, sucking it up, doing a cd today, which will work out well since I have a massage this evening that will probably last until 8pm or so. That will make having a light dinner or no dinner easier and we'll see where I sit tomorrow on Mr. Scale.

Shelby-sorry you're not feeling well. And bummer the project at work isn't going as you'd hoped. That's a long time to work on something and not get the satisfaction that it's been well spent time. I've been there w. projects that just suck the life out of you! Hope you're feeling better and the stress doesn't get worse. Enjoy a little break from the drama of dating! The grass will always be greener. Even though I love dh, lately he's been more of an annoyance than help!

Lara-sounds like you dodged a bullet there. Enjoy your peace and freedom too!

Shrinking-enjoy P3!! Ah, fat.

Kris- that your clinic disappointed, but on below LDW!! Woohoo!!

Reddy-yep. That's what we're all shooting for. Being able to eat intuitively, which means carbs or whatevery you feel like, and still stick the weight!!

I've been NOT Cdlike today at all. I had some choc covered raisins . Why are they so yummy? Not fair!! Must resist, must resisit. I was "good" and didn't have any Halloween candy. That's something, right? I'm off to run dd(9)'s vball practice, then driving dd(12) to her vball practice. Lots of running tonight, but all good Should keep me out of the kitchen where snacking occurs .

Reddy -- So glad you're in window! Yes, if you can resume life and stay in window even when you make a couple of poorer choices, you can consider yourself stable

Lara -- Man diet, lol! I'm hanging out too, waiting for someone that I WANT to splurge on..I just tell myself "on to the next one"

Shelby -- Sometimes I just feel like a mess of emoticons.

Julie -- Egg salad was yummy!! I had BP coffee for breakfast, 8 eggs made into egg salad for lunch, and then just kind of cruised through the rest of the day on water/coffee from Starbucks (coworker wanted to walk there with me). I figured if I was super hungry when I got home I had 4 more eggs to play with, but didn't eat them. Guess I ate enough mayo I love choc covered stuff..why is food so yummy in general?? I have been contemplating lately on the times I eat when I know I'm not hungry because tasting yummy food makes me feel happy and I don't want that "happy brain chemical" feeling to go away so I keep tasting. I sound like an addict but it's probably true

Hi everyone - was up until 3 am with homework and then up again early, then to class, and back, and more homework. I weighed, it's not pretty but it's better than the last few days. I did a DD with less than 700 calories and 15 carbs. Today was an UD, 1700+ calories. I will do a DD tomorrow again but not weigh.

I honestly am not sure what to do except doing what "SHOULD" be working. I obviously can't starve myself every day. I need to stoke the fire here, not slow it down. Shelby helped me get my sleeping under control and I hope it holds (THANKS FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS!!!) and then move on from there. I can tell you from experience that no sleeping AND restricted eating makes me super cranky. In my not-so-distant past, I have gained on 1200+ calories. I am hoping that if I stay good on sleeping and vitamins and routine that the rest will sort itself out.

Good to see everyone!
@Buttah, you're doing so good and I am so glad!
@Julie, you are always such an encourager! Thank you!
@Lara, cocoa - ha ha ha ! "splurge" on a man LOL funny girls!
@shrinking, Reddy, tarheelKris, good job you guys!!!!!!! All super exciting news!

ok, so I'm down 1.6 from my meaty fatty day. Sick of omlets, sick of bacon.
Yesterday I had an omlet, pork roast, mozzarella cheddar and salmon.
I've been feeling kinda weird too, it's the holidays and that always makes me think of what I was doing years before, etc.

At this point I feel like I really just dont want to share my life with just anyone. I say that because I'm a giver and a good homemaker and I dont want to put forth the effort unless someone is going to really bring it. Until then I will be open to the possibility but if a dealbreaker comes along then its hasta la vista, I'm not getting stuck. I want 50/50 someone who loves like I love, works hard like I do, and generally does stuff that makes their partner happy all in a healthy way.

@C'Marie wow girl you are a superwoman school work and diet!!
@Julie thats why I keep all my naughty snacks in the top cupboard of the kitchen where I would have to get a chair to get up there! lol
@Shelby&Cocoa Like Julie said once you say that you are done trying to find the right one.... the right one comes along...

My date myself plan involves the following... Taking extra time to get ready and do my makeup wear cute clothes, Clean my house as if someone is coming over, Make a plan do to something, a bookstore, shopping, Buy myself gifts that make me feel good, like sf candy, Be my best friend; think positively about myself...

Are you "unsubscribed"? At the bottom of your Reply to Thread window is a box that says "Thread Subscription, Notification Type" - you want to make sure the "Instant email notification" option is selected. HTH!

Yum! Glad you enjoyed your eggs and they are so filling, aren't they? I almost feel a bit when I do an egg day! I'm an addict too. I just ordered some supplement that's supposed to take away (or at least reduce) hunger. I wonder if it'll help w. cravings too? I do love chocolate. Usually, when I'm in the "zone" a taste is enough.

Glad you're sleeping a bit better. That could be the only thing that's messing w. the scale. Or it could be stress. Or water retention. Glad you're eating and fueling your body. I agree, calorie restriction for too long is a bad thing.

Love your "dating yourself" ideas! This is such a good place to be!! Treat yourself well, maybe get in some exercise-walking, hiking some of those lovely trails down there in Tucson, pedicures, shopping, hanging out with your GFs. All such a good way to remind yourself that you're special and worth being treated well!! Even when you're in the "right" relationship, it's a good idea to remember to not settle for less than you deserve.

I am happy to report that I am back to 146 today. Sure it's LDW+3, but it seems to be my body's happy place. Now that I have accepted that, and am not fighting with it trying to convince it to go lower, I seem to be able to get and stay here while eating lots of stuff, even carbs! My body temp is up, I feel good and I am able to eat what I want, w/i reason, and still stay here. I'm quite relieved and happy with this development!! I am planning to stick this number and see if I can stay near it when I go away. Even being up 1.4lbs yesterday I am right back down today with just a bit of lighter eating yesterday. Definitely not a CD of any kind, and way higher in carbs (choc covered raisins, a few of dd's french fries at 9PM), but I didn't really have "dinner" just a few bites of cheese and chicken lunchmeat while running out the door at 5:30. Fam had dinner at 9:30PM, but I know I can't eat that late. So, I'm happy. Hope this really is a stable weight for me. Time will tell!!

Hello.. I'm sulking over to here after a HUGELY failed P2. It is what it is, but I have decided to go LC/P3, and try to lose weight. The mister is going to start LC on Sunday with me.. it will be SO nice to finally eat the same way and support each other.

Ok, so I feel about 1000x better today than yesterday. Nothing like a crummy day to just make everything seem like DOOMANDGLOOM! At about 5pm yesterday I realized that I had taken exactly NONE of my daytime meds so no wonder I was feeling cr@appy(er) than when I woke up! I went and had a decent massage, came home and ate a single chicken thigh. Had a brief debate with myself over eating a leftover burger patty that I had in the fridge but talked myself out of it (NOT HUNGRY, self, NOT HUNGRY!) and went to bed. Woke up to a 3 pound loss this morning so back into my adjusted window and feeling way less puffy and gross. Between a little inflammation, a little cold, and a lotta stress, I was obviously retaining in a big way.

On boys, I can't give up the hunt for long periods of time. I've tried it and what happens is that I end up being a hermit because my natural instinct is to nest--stay in, hang out with no makeup, drink wine, eat, and watch movies with my BFFs. I also have two girlfriends who have given up--and have been single for a long time, one for 10+ years waiting for that right guy to show up when she is not looking. I feel better if I'm proactive at going after something I want. Sometimes it gets me down and I take a little break, sometimes I just keep on pushing forward--says the girl who has a date tonight and another tomorrow! I think I'm just too stubborn to give up and sometimes I feel like a proactive venture, even with a low probability match, is better than nothing at all. Worse comes to worst, when I have a drink or coffee with someone new, I have an interesting evening where I practice my conversational skills (I'm actually kinda shy) or I make a new friend or I or a meet someone who I set up with one of my single GFs. Everything Lara and Julie said about being too awesome to settle makes a whole lot of sense and I'm right there with ya both!

Welcome back Dbunny!

Hi everyone else!

C'Marie - Glad you are at least getting some sleep girl! That is so important! Maybe eat some more and see how you feel?

Lara - Yay for being down! Meaty day is cool. I am contemplating either meat/fat or hwc for tomorrow..decisions. I love that you are dating yourself and I am totally with you! At least until SOMEONE takes me out to dinner and a movie! Hehe

Julie - If you can stay stable at 146, then that is great! Sometimes you gotta just let your body do what it's gonna do. Hard to put into practice when you want to control it, but there is only so much you can control, ya know? I'm personally higher up on the scale than I should be right now, so I am not weighing as much and doing CDs here and there because they make me feel better. Haven't weighed this week yet but may tomorrow or Friday. I consider it a positive if I can stay in the 160's until my next round

Dbunny - Even if you didn't lose weight, maybe you reshaped! In terms of weight, my second round did nothing, but I did reshape. So I try to tell myself it wasn't a TOTAL waste..lol. Enjoy LC/Atkins! It's always nice to have someone doing it with you. It will be slower but if you can stick to it you will find success. Bring on the steak and eggs!

Shelby - I do the same, so I tell myself that no one is going to be able to meet me if I am locked up in the house eating ice cream and watching L&O:SVU reruns. I also like to practice talking to people, because I can totally suck at talking sometimes. My brain seems to go faster than my mouth. I'm much better at writing!
