Starting HCG diet today and looking for a buddy

Hi my name is Angie and yesterday was my first Loading day (Phase 1) and I already gained 1 pound ... Yikes ...

Today is my second Loading day ... and tomorrow will be my first Day on Phase 2.

If you have any experience on this and can coach me through this venture it will be wonderful and it will help me a lot! But if not, we'll learn it together. I'll be following the program to the "T".

Wanna join me and start the New Year much lighter!?! I want to lose between 47 and 50 pounds, depending on how much I'll gain until tomorrow, we'll see.

Of course, I have no idea how long that will take me, but I know I'll get there before next Spring, so help me God!

All are welcome! Please, join me and we'll succeed together

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

~Angie

Check out the P2 thread...that is where you will find support for the VLCD phase.

Well wishes Angie! (Love that name by the way)

Hey Angie! Welcome! I'm starting my second round and today was my 2nd loading day as well, so we're on the exact same schedule. I did my first round a year ago and lost 40 lbs. Due to life and many other issues, I wasn't able to continue on as I had planned, and I gained 10 of it back. Not beating myself up, just starting a new round and sticking to it as instructed. I didn't load as much yesterday as I should have, but today, oh my, I'm so sick of food I can't stand it! Eggs, Sausage, Cheesecake, pudding, egg salad w/mayo, nuts, egg nog, spicy chili w/beef & pork. Yuck! I need tomorrow's VLCD to detox from all that fat!
You can do this. Read Pounds and Inches over and over again to ensure you understand everything that you can and cannot do.
Honestly, I find that I lose best if I stick to fish and chicken and the allowed veggies/fruit. And drink the water! Two to Six Liters a day is what my Dr recommends.

Hi Stevie, thank you so much, but I kind of prefer a smaller group where we can get more familiar with all the players, besides, AngelMc and I are on the same page here and we are going to be great buddies

Hey, Angel, it's so nice to meet you Hey, how much do you want to lose this time? What is your goal weight and how tall are you?

I'll read Pounds and Inches over and over again as you recommended it and we'll do great together!

My loading day yesterday was not too bad either, but today I pigged out ... I'm feeling so sick ... had stuffed Jalapeños, Mozzarella sticks, peanut butter and I attacked the candy bag for the kids tomorrow. Yikes ...

Can you believe I didn't even like it ... but my mind is so sick, that I thought I had to have it to say my last good-byes!

I'm so confident that this time I'm going to reach my goal weight. I really don't miss eating all these bad foods anymore.

Actually, I'll be glad we're going to be much healthier and in consequences of that we'll look our best too. Did you notice my user name in here!?! No Accidents in the Universe, huh!?!

I've been drinking a lot of water, that stuff was so salty ... yikes ... I'm so scared of the scale tomorrow!

But here we go, I'll be accountable to you on a daily basis and we'll be strong for each other, deal!?!

Shall we start a new thread for the month of November or shall we stay in here!?! What do you say!?!

Looking forward to hearing from you tomorrow morning! Good night, my new friend and sweet dreams! zzzzZZZZZZ

Angel, where are you!?! I thought we would be accountable to each other on a daily basis!?!

Anyway, hope all is well with you and I am looking forward to hearing from you soon again.

My highest weight from the loading days was 188.8 today. Oh my

So, now let's see how I will do on the VLCDs ... Can't wait to see those numbers getting down very fast ... I'll be doing this for 45 days. So here we go!

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

Good night ladies!

Morning!! I'm here! Sorry, Halloween with my kids totally kept me busy.
VLCD#1 went fine, I don't think I drank enough water, but that was just because of how busy I was. I gained 2 lbs from loading for the previous 2 days, and it was nice NOT to really want any of the junk.

Today is VLCD#2 and those 2 lbs from loading are gone! So no where to go but down from here! I'm actually on a 4 day vacation from work starting today. Going to clean house and drink lots and lots of water!

We can do this!

I'm wanting to lose another 40 lbs overall.

Well, I'll chime in, too. I am on VLCD4, so I am pretty close to ya'll. This is round 4 for me. I usually do 40 day rounds, but this round is only going to be 23 or 24 days. I want to be on P3 by Thanksgiving. Glad to meet you all.

Hello,

This is so bad- I can't stop thinking of food!!! This always happens when I start a new diet- is anyone experiencing the same thing?
So far I have eaten
1 apple
5 strawberries
75g of albacore tuna with a squeeze of lemon juice
and plenty of water

Tonight i'll be eating tuna again and some cucumber
I know they say to not eat the same protein twice in the day- but vey busy tonight, so it's either that or nothing.
I feel very bloated and somewhat larthagic, but that could be cause it's Friday here.I am really hoping this works...I have a funny feeling that it won't!
I'm off to buy electronic bathroom scales tonight and some vitamins too.

How did everyone else do today?

Today is VLCD#3 and I was down -2.4 this morning! Yay!

I've also been thinking about food alot, but not because I'm hungry. More like our of boredom. I am on a staycation and although I am loving the silence of my house during the work/school day......it also leaves me way too much opportunity to want to snack! Argh!

Working on my 3rd liter of water right now. Trying to get 3-4 liters per day.

How's everyone else doing today?

I would like to lose the 5 I put on plus maybe 5-10 more, so I'll be hanging around for awhile. Wishing you all a great release today

I had black coffee with a tbs of milk ( maybe a touch more) in the morning on the way to work. At about 10 I had an apple. For lunch I had 75g of albacore tuna with a squeeze of lemon followed by 5 strawberries. I didn't get home till very late and really wasn't hungry but thought I should eat something- so I had 2 small cucumbers (200grams) and a handful of rice crackers. I figured since I didn't have the grissini or Melba toast it should be ok... Obviously not. I had plenty of water throughout the day about 2 liters or more. You're advice is greatly appreciated!!! I think I'm due to get my period soon- so I don't know if that effects it.

Hiya and welcome to all the newbies!

Chanel - If you are due to get your period then yes, that could definitely effect your weight, especially if you normally retain during TOM.

Also, neither the rice crackers NOR the tuna is on the original protocol. A lot of people do add fat free tuna (packed in water) with no issues but tuna is specifically excluded in P&I. Just wanted to let you know in case that would concern you. If you choose to keep it, it's totally up to you, but just wanted to make sure you knew.

2 liters is good but you should be aiming for at least half your body weight in ounces of water. So 100oz or more if your stats are current (3+ liters).

Keep the faith and you will start seeing some drops soon...

Hi Ladies, after writing a long post yesterday, I clicked on preview and poof, my message was lost in space ... I was so tired that I decided to go to bed instead.

I'm so sorry to report that I was not 100% OP today , therefore, I’ll restart tomorrow and it will be #VLCD1 for me!

Chanel, I just love your name Would you like to join me tomorrow!?! Listen, we'll hold each other’s hand and we'll strength each other, what do you sayl!?!

I was reading some of your previous messages, and I was wondering why you said you had a feeling this also wouldn't work for you!?!

I wrote to you specifically last night but lost my message ... ugh ... Remember, if we say this is going to be hard, difficult or whatever, guess what!?! It will be ... because we say so ...

Shelbyla is absolutely right, Tuna is very fat like Salmon, Herring, Eel, etc. and therefore, is not allowed on Phase 2. Nor rice crackers. Great coaching by Shelbyla, by the way!

Listen, I don't know what kind of HCG Diet are you on (drops, pills or injections), but according to Dr. Simeon's Protocol, I think you should read this again. I'll post part of the diet in here for your convenience.

Vegetable Allowed Amounts

Once you start the low calorie portion of the diet you can have 1 vegetable per meal (no mixing vegetables together) in the following amounts:

Chard – 2 Cups
Celery – 2 Cups
Lettuce – 2 Cups
Spinach – 2 Cups
Cabbage – 2 Cups
Cucumber – 2 Cups
Asparagus – 2 Cups
Beat greans – 2 Cups
Red Radishes – 2 Cups
Fennel – 1 1/2 Cups
Onion – 1 Cup
Chicory - 1 Cup
Tomato – 1 Cup

And on a side note for strawberries it says one handful which is about 6-10 medium strawberries.

You must be weighing your food out and the food must be from the list below. The low Calorie diet is to be started on your third day and is as follows:

Breakfast:

Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk is allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin or liquid Stevia may be used.

Lunch:

1. 100 grams (3.5 ounces [Weigh the RAW meat BEFORE cooking]) of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat.

Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are NOT allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird and all visible fat and skin removed.

2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

3. One breadstick (grissini) or one Melba toast (often found in the croutons section of your grocery store).

4. An apple, orange or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.

Dinner:
The same as lunch.

The juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes. Salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, cilantro, parsley, thyme, majoram, etc., may be used for seasoning, but no oil, butter or dressing.

Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water are the only drinks allowed, but they may be taken in any quantity and at all times.

In fact, you should drink at least 64+ ounces (2 liters) of these fluids per day. Many people are afraid to drink so much because they fear that this may make them retain more water. This is a wrong notion as the body is more inclined to store water when the intake falls below its normal requirements.

The fruit or the breadstick may be eaten between meals instead of with lunch or dinner, but not more than four items listed for lunch and dinner may be eaten at one meal.

The 100 grams of meat must be scrupulously weighed raw after all visible fat has been removed. To do this accurately you must have a food-scale, as kitchen scales are not sufficiently accurate and the butcher should certainly not be relied upon.

There is no objection to breaking up the two meals. For instance having a breadstick and an apple for breakfast or an orange before going to bed, provided they are deducted from the regular meals. The whole daily ration of two grissinis or two fruits may not be eaten at the same time, nor can any item saved from the previous day be added on the following day.

In the beginning clients are advised to check every meal against their diet sheet before starting to eat and not to rely on their memory. It is also worth pointing out that any attempt to observe this diet without the HCG Diet will lead to trouble in two to three days.

We have had cases in which people have proudly flaunted their dieting powers in front of their friends without mentioning the fact that they are also receiving treatment with the HCG. They let their friends try the same diet, and when this proves to be a failure - as it necessarily must - the client starts raking in unmerited kudos for superhuman willpower.

It should also be mentioned that two small apples weighing as much as one large one never the less have a higher caloric value and are therefore not allowed though there is no restriction on the size of one apple.

Some people do not realize that a tangerine is not an orange and that chicken breast does not mean the breast of any other fowl, nor does it mean a wing or drumstick.

The most tiresome patients are those who start counting Calories and then come up with all manner of ingenious variations which they come up with.

When one has spent years of weary research trying to make a diet as attractive as possible without jeopardizing the loss of weight, culinary geniuses who are out to improve their unhappy lot are hard to take.

So, there you have it! Please, ask all the questions and if there is anything you don't understand, one of us in here will try to help you with.

AngelMC, I’m so happy for you ... you’re hilarious, my girl! When I saw that little guy jumping up and down I could see how happy you were! Congratulations, you’re rocking it! Sorry if I let you down , but I’m restarting tomorrow. Promise!

Shelbyla, you are at my goal weight, lady! I’m so jealous ... actually, you inspire me to be good to myself on a daily basis now! I’ll get there in no time, you’ll see!

I had a slip today ... ate too much protein and it was so salty ... yikes, I’m drawning in water now ... my pants are getting very tight ... don’t even want to see the damage tomorrow on the scale ...

Since our group is growing in here, why don’t we let everybody know how tall we are, what is our Current Weight, how much we want to lose and our Goal Weight. This way we can get to know each other a little better.

Shall we report our daily weigh ins!?! I think that would be such a great motivation to see everybody’s progress first thing in the morning. What do you girls say!?!

Going to watch a movie with DH now “I was a Male War Bride”, 1949 with Cary Grant and Ann Sheridan. We watched “Sabrina” last night! Just love those classic Movies!

Talk to you all tomorrow! Good night Ladies!

Hi Healthy4ever,
Thank you so much for all your information.
It's funny isn't it- when you read about everyone's losses and what they eat- you think (well at least I do) that's so easy- i've got it in the bag, it's basic...but in reality it isn't. I think my downfall was being a little quiet at work yesterday and it made me think of food all day. Today I have been busy and have not thought much about food- but with that said I did go out for lunch with my children.
I had a poached chicken salad with rocket, and buffalo mozzerella. It had very little if any at all oil in the dressing- I couldn't just sit and watch the children eat so I made the best out of a bad situation

I have had about 2litres of water and will make sure I have another one by the time I go to bed.
Now tonight, wouldn't you know it- I'm not hungry...I don't even want to eat. I can't be bothered cooking and what I did have in mind I don't have all the ingredients for...... I need to do some shopping tomorrow to be prepared for work (i've got the drops hhcg ones)
I think weekends will be my downfall- I'm just busy going out and catching up with friends and hanging out with my children. I already know that I'm going to breakfast with my children tomorrow- but I have sussed out the menu and will be having poached eggs on a bed of spinach.
oh, one last thing- please don't think that I have not cooked for my little ones- they have eaten dinner with their grandparents
My height is 5ft and 6 and 1/2 inches (according to Wiki..I'm 168cm tall)
My starting weight is 211.4lbs (as of today) and at the moment I would be happy if I lost anything!!! but Ideally I want to ultimately reach 130lbs but a first goal would be 190lbs....

Today is VLCD#4 for me, and so far I'm down -3.2lbs.

I've been eating boneless skinless chicken tenderloins, cooked in skillet w/water and dry seasonings, jerk seasoned tilapia, and more chicken!...............bagged spinach, cucumber slices, tomato slices, gala apples and strawberries.........no bread sticks or melba so far.

Drinking 3-4 liters of water per day.

We're all human and we're gonna have good and bad days. Just pick back up and get back on track. I thought I would of lost more the first few days, but I'm choosing not to beat myself up over it or to let it mess with my mind. I'm losing, and that's all that matters to me!

For my weekend, I know there is a dining out trip involved, and I'm planning on ordering a side salad and grilled chicken or grilled fish. It can be done!

Chanel, if you are 1,68 cm you are 5'.5&1/2". And that's exactly my height. So, another thing we have in common.

Girl, what are you doing!?! I don't think you are in the right frame of mind for this program yet. You need to shift gears, my girl or this won't work for you. We need to be 100% OP.

What is the rocket in a poached chicken salad!?!
No Cheese/dairy is Allowed!
No oil dressing either, it doesn't matter how much.
And NO SKIPPING MEALS. Your body will go into starvation mode and you won't lose.

You have to go shopping and prepare your own meals before you go out the door. Weekends are the best days to do that if you work. We need to be prepared for whatever situation.

Look at AngelMc, she's doing great! She is inspiring me!
Angel, you are on the right frame of mind, my girl, and I love your attitude! You're doing great! What is your current weight, if I may ask!?! I'll try to catch up with you soon! Wait for me ...

The program only works if we work it! So here we go:

VLCD1 for me today:

1 Fuji Apple for breakfast

2 cups roasted asparagus, 100 grams (3.5 oz) raw Tilapia, it's about 60 grams or 3 oz after cooked with 1/2 lime, salt, pepper and garlic for lunch.

1 Gallon of water during the day

2 cups of chopped Lettuce, 100 grams (3.5 oz) raw ground beef ~ it's about 60 grams or 3 oz after cooked with 1/2 lime, salt, pepper, garlic, taco seasoning and cilantro, for dinner.

10 small Strawberries for late snack.

My weight went way up this morning to 190.0 ~ Very scary. But I'm changing that today.

I'll start a new thread for us for the month of November and will post the link in here so everyone can find us. I don't like those very long threads with pages and pages of messages. Then if we want to remember how much we lost in a specific month and just have to read that month's thread.

It will be something like this: November ~ "Right Frame of Mind"

I want to see a big woosh on the scale tomorrow! Gulp, gulp, gulp, drinking my water over here ...

Have a great day, ladies!

~Angie

"Hi Timsbeloved, excuse my ignorance but does that mean you have done this 4 times? Any tips you can share with beginners?"

Yes, I have done 3 rounds and am in my 4th round. Tips.....
Drink lots and lots of water.
Keep Bernice coming.
Stick to the protocol. I know some go rogue, but I stick to the plan by Dr. S.
If you stall, do the apple day. I regret not doing it in round 2 and staying stalled for 10 days. HTH.

~Angie

And it doesnt have any sugar or modified starches? All the taco seasonings I've seen have those. I've been making my own taco seasoning with chili powder
