I need a swift kick where the sun don't shine....

Hi everyone,

I need some motivation. I'm a long-timer lurker, post sometimes, but read all the time. I did two successful rounds (May 2011 and August 2011), and managed to lose 30 pounds and keep most of it off. I've started other rounds since then (lost count), and either can't keep the subsequent weight loss off or just can't stay on plan. If I stay the course of the minimum 21 days, when I get to P3, I lose all control and wind up gaining back what I lost in that round.

I'd like to lose at least another 40 pounds (minimum), but I just can't my head in the game again. I know I feel good when I start slimming down, but the last few rounds have been tough to stick it out more than 10-14 days...

Okay, I've bent over, and am ready for my kicks. Please share with me what helps keep you on track............

Thanks

I have been where you have been You don't need a kick in the pants, you need hugs. This protocol is hard. I was naive at first and said that this was the easiest diet ever, I had no cravings, no hunger and lost every single day without fail Then round #2 hit. Boy was I sucker punched. Or someone was getting revenge on me fo my cockiness. It was the toughest round ever And ever since reaching goal---tough, tough, tough. I cannot believe I let my goal slip through my grasp, I had it loved it and let it go. I have been trying ever since to get back there. Made it for my 40th birthday , and since.......not there. But I keep striving. I don't give up. I love that I can fit into some of my goal sized clothing. That is motivation enough for me. Some rounds I could do it, some I couldn't. When I found myself cheating every day I would quit that round. When I was doing good, I would stay on. I cannot say what happened with the ones that clicked and the ones that failed. I don't know how to distinguish how to do good, and how to fail. You just have to try. Getting on here and being accountable is the first step. Just take it one day at a time. Some days I had to do it a meal at a time. Some days, a food at a time. Now get out there and try your best on a round. You just have to take that first leap, or step of faith. I have faith in you!!

I am right there with you!
I feel like it's finally time for me to act like a grown-up. Maybe we can act like grown-ups together.

Thanks Dawn and Agee, I needed that. I just need to keep focused, stay on track, and learn to pick myself up, brush off and keep going when I trip up. I stayed on protocol 100% on my 2 successful rounds last year and that's probably why I did so well. The other times when I fell off, I just couldn't get back on track.......

Hi Boosya.

I think subsequent rounds are harder for a number of reasons but ya gotta keep trying, right?

One thing that helps me to stay on plan is really really planning my round so I don't have birthdays, vacations, anniversaries, or other social events that I have to work around. It's gotta be a good stretch of 3-4 weeks with nothing and I learn to say "no" to happy hour, dinners out, and food-related fun. Unless you get an unexpected visit from the President, surprise tickets to the Superbowl, or an invitation to the Oscars unexpectedly, there is NO REASON to go off plan for an event. I COMMIT to staying the course because being thin and happy is WAY better than staying overweight.

I stay on track by thinking and thinking HARD about WHY I want to cheat if the mood strikes me. Is it hunger? Boredom? Stress? Feeling deprived? It's probably one or more of the above. Is eating whatever it is going to make me feel better aside from the momentary taste? (Probably not.) Is it going to feel good to get on the scale and see myself 2-5 pounds up the next day? (Definitely not!) Is it going to feel good to have to struggle through the carb cravings to get back on plan and lose another couple of scale days? (HE77 NO!) Many times I LITERALLY visualize that higher number on the scale which scares me straight. I don't know your personal situation but I also feel that if you can get temptations out of the house, DO IT. It's much harder to justify to myself dragging myself out of the house to buy cr@p to sneak-eat like some sort of delinquent than to just eat what's on hand. So if it's not on hand...

On jumping into--and completely BLOWING P3--well, BTDT for sure. Twice this year, in fact. It made stabilization completely impossible. This last round, I transitioned very VERY slowly, and as of today (3+ weeks into P4), I am sitting at LIW +1.2. I've been in and out of my window and done cd's, but on the whole, I am starting the new year (my birthday is tomorrow), 15 pounds lighter than last year at this time. I have a better perspective on food and eating and what it takes to maintain this weight and, g0d willing, I'll be right here next year!

Good luck if you try another round!

Shelby -
I see you've done hHCG and prescription.
What was the difference? Is it worth the $$ and the dr's visit?

Agee - I ordered my rx hCG from overseas--sorry, it's against TOS to share the source. I liked the convenience of a once a day shot and that I didn't have to worry about issues with timing on eating or drinking or switching out mint products. Other than that, I think the losses and the hunger suppression were the same with the two. HTH

Okay, that's good to know. I'm mostly concerned about appetite suppression, so that answers that question.

Shelby, I didn't thank you for taking time out to post. The words you wrote couldn't be truer, but I just can't keep myself in the game....

After starting this thread, I jumped into another round (have lost count which one it is). I fell off, pretty bad, and haven't been able to get it together since. I dived head first into the Halloween candy, and have been trying to get out of that bucket with no luck.

My b-day and Thanksgiving are past me now, no more "events" lined up until New Years Eve (pretty big in my family, we go all out). I will have my office holiday lunch party during these next few weeks (could stay on plan with the menu), and a few breakfasts lined up from banking peeps I work with (easy to stay on plan since I don't do breakfast during the rounds), so I contemplating going from Monday, 11/26, thru New Years Eve (or a few days before to transition to P3). Am I setting myself up for failure during the holiday season with all the yummy foods around all the time?

Boosya - I think only YOU can answer that question! Some people find it ok to do a round through the holidays and theoretically you COULD do a quickie between now and Xmas. Personally, I'm not sure I could do it but for some it actually helps their focus. Good luck whatever you decide!

I have had a lot of trouble too, trying to loose last 10 lbs! I was soooo good other round, but now cannot seem to get it together. I have recently just tried to have one cheat per day, and live with it, rather than throw all caution to the wind, figuring I 'blew it' anyway.

I am all or nothing type trying to change THAT thinking. Have an extra apple, serving of salad, or veg--no bread, no sugar, and see how you do, I for one maybe dont loose, but dont gain that way, thats the real deal anyway, what good does it do to loose it if you cannot keep it off? And commit to eating CLEAN not processed food-its better for you.
