Success with less time between rounds?
Hi all,
This is my first post but I have lurked on this forum before. It was actually how I decided to do a round of h hcg. I had a great first round (down from 167.5 to 140.5) and I am in the second week of P3 at 142. My question to you all is....Who has successfully completed and maintained a second round with less than a 6 week break? I know...it is recommended to wait at least 6 weeks and I do appreciate that, but I am curious about it. Thanks so much for posting. I have learned a great deal from this group. Dani ![]() |

Well I guess everyone waits at least 6 weeks
Well I am guessing everyone waits the full 6 weeks. It is hard to wait when you just want to get the weight off! I really enjoyed (in a sadistic sort of way) the first round. I really couldn't believe how well it worked and how I was not hungry. Here's to round 2 (hopefully the last round)

Dani--I am sorry no one responded. I have not done the cycling. But if you do a search for hcg and cycling you can find a few threads like this one:
Cycling hcg cycling anyone? Hope you get some answers! |

Dani27, I am quite envious of your results. I did a long round (45 injections) and "only" went from 169.5 (pre-loading) to 152.7. So give yourself a big pat on the back, and try to be patient. I know it's hard for me. I wish I could've gone longer, and with thanksgiving and a couple of trips coming up, I probably have to wait until mid December to do my final round.

Thanks for the reply
Thanks for the info Dawnyama! I appreciate it.
Buttah, thanks for the encouragement. I'm really hypothyroid and this is the first thing that has worked fast. I gain fast but also seem to lose fast--so at least it evens out a bit. I am so not patient. Good luck maintaining cause that is what really counts! |

I did several rounds of HCG back in late 2010 and 2011. I cycled for each and every one of those rounds, with the most time in between rounds of 4 weeks, most often I was 3 weeks on and 2 weeks off. My first round ever, I lost 27 pounds in 30 days. I never had a round like that again. I failed to do HCG correctly and wait the required time between rounds to allow my body to adjust to it's current weight. I failed to eat according to P3 guidelines, and then move to P4, and it was detrimental to my body. I couldn't keep weight off. Every single round I did, I lost less and less weight each time. I fooled myself by thinking that I could just do another short round if I gained too much in between rounds. I think I totally messed up my metabolism for a good while, to where I couldn't lose hardly any weight no matter what I did. When I finally decided that I just couldn't do HCG anymore (up, down, up, down), I ended up gaining all my weight back within a matter of 6 months. I had lost over 100 pounds, starting at 256 pounds, and my lowest weight was 153 (which I could never stabilize). When I finally quit HCG, I was at 191 pounds, and slowly creeped back up to 250+ pounds.
I started out fresh on HCG again last Sunday (10/14) weighing 254.2 pounds. I had a recent hysterectomy (Feb 2012). Today I am down to 242.0 pounds. I vow this time to take my time, do this all correctly, wait the required time between rounds (2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, etc.). I do know, though, that HCG produces the quickest weight loss of any other method I have ever used. I have tried many plans over the course of my lifetime as I have been heavy most of my adult life, and have tried extremely hard these past 6 months after my surgery, to lose weight, but have not been able to lose more than a few pounds. In the past 9 days, I have lost almost 12 pounds on HCG and feel so much better. Please weigh all your options if deciding to cycle. Rome was not built in a day; you didn't put the weight on in a few months. Take your time, do it right, and you will be so much happier with your results in the long run. Good luck...I know you can do this!!

okinawa---wtg!!! You are so good for hanging in there and trying it again. That is the point....never give up!!! Keep on trying. You can do this. Slowly is better. It stays off in the long run if you follow the plan. That is why the plan is there LOL. It works!!! Good luck to you okinawamary!!! You can do this!!!

Learning more each day
Thanks Okinawa,
Thank you for sharing your experience. You'll rock it this time by knowing where the pitfalls are. I will wait the 6 weeks before round two and hopefully that will be the last round. Also, Dawnyama--I didn't know this approach was called cycling. I had been trying to research on the web but wasn't getting anywhere but I can now find lots of information. |

Well Dani, I am glad to help. I didn't realize you didn't know what to call skipping P4. You need to pop into the P2 weekly thread and get to know those ladies and gents! They are a nice group of folks and will help you figure things out. They were a help to me.
And I totally get you about the "getting to goal". Who doesn't want to lose it all yesterday LOL???!! But really, the best way to do the protocol is follow the plan as written. I think you will get the best results!!

I did some cycling, shorter time btw. rounds, last year. It didn't go well for me either. I didn't lose well on the rounds, and had a harder time stabilizing afterwards. I regret rushing it and wish I'd have just enjoyed maintaining more between rounds and setting myself up for better losses on the actual P2 portions.
There are some who don't seem to have any trouble doing it. You lost so well, maybe you would be a lucky one? See how your P3/P4 goes and maybe that'll give you some guide. If you're like a rock right away, maybe you could do a shortenend P4 successfully. If you do, then please be really careful when you stabilize after that round. Hope all goes well for you and you're able to stabilize with ease! on your loss! I'm hypo too and sympathize!
