? about moving on after hcg protocol

I have been doing the protocol now for 16days and I am down 15pounds. I am very happy with the results and have about another 10 pounds to get to a goal weight I have decided I can live with and its not crazy. I am debating staying on p2 one more week to get there. I have done so well that I do not want to mess it up. I read somewhere here that said just get to 21days then the rest is really gravey

What plan do most transition too after following the whole protocol but then not really want to do another round....I am not sure I could do this again. I have been a rock!! No cheats or licks or deviation at all. I have changed and ate an apple only once a day and grapefruit or berries with my second meal. I have also dropped out the melba toast early on. I have not cheated but its more of a head thing that I want to eat.

I was thinking of the 17day diet plan?? I am reading it now.

Has anyone moved on to another plan to finish the weight loss process??

I just also want to mention that whatever I took out of diet has really made me feel wonderful. I have no heartburn, IBS,Hot flashes, huge mood swings. I am not eating tums, milanta or gas X anymore! When I do go and add stuff back in I will do it slow. Maybe I can figure out what I was eating that really bothered my stomach

Hi Jodi! :hiya: Congrats on getting through your first 16 days without a cheat! :high5: That is HUGE!!!!! And congrats also on feeling better. A LOT of the things you describe (IBS, hot flashes, etc.) can be linked to processed foods and particularly sugar and wheat. The diet gives you an opportunity to cut them out and really identify what causes the symptoms for you.

Have you read Pounds & Inches, the original hcg diet manual? According to the original manual and everything else I've read, you need to do a MINIMUM of 21 vlcd's on the protocol, so 2 loading days with h/hcg, 21 vlcd's with h/hcg, and 2 vlcd's without h/hcg for the protocol to be successful. That's a total of 25 days for a minimum round. I am assuming that you are not counting your 2 loading days in with the 16 on plan? If not, that puts you at a total of 18 days out of the 25 with exactly a week to go on P2. You asked about afterwards. P&I calls for a STRICT 3 weeks of low carb immediately following P2 (called Phase 3 or P3 around here) where the object is to NOT lose but maintain your last dose weight (LDW). After that, you start introducing starches and sugars again, monitoring how they impact your weight and correcting as necessary. In Phase 4 (P4) you CAN lose weight however you choose.

If you don't want to read P&I (although I DO recommend it!), check this out...

At the very end, I have posted an alternate transition plan that I used this last round that (fingers crossed!) has been very effective in helping me stabilize this time around.

Also, a LOT of people have read and are following the updated h/hcg principles in the book Weight Loss Apocalypse. A GREAT read for anyone dieting, whether you are following the hcg protocol or not.

Hope this is helpful! Good luck!!!!!

:heart:Thank U shelby....Yes u answered my question and yes I am on day 18.. I will look back but thought it was 3days vlc after drops stop??

Thank u for the links.

I have a great primary care physician who I talked to before starting protocol. He was wonderful. I did bump into him and he said that all my stomach issues could be a gluten intolerance of which I would not test positive in bld test. It may not be a true allergy but rather a intolerance to.

Thank u again....I am almost to 21 and really hoping to push just a little further. Then I realize I need vld days without drops 2 or 3....He also said big egg breakfast steak lunch and after dinner to increase the protein Right??

It's actually 48 hours after last drops if you are on homeopathic and 72 hours after last drops if you are on prescription.

Some transition plans recommend at least doubling protein when you start P3. I transitioned this last round as mentioned on the last page of the thread linked above. It worked really well for me and if I ever have to do another round (hopefully not! :) ) I would transition again the same way. I found it to be much more gentle on the stomach and easier to not go too crazy at the start of P3 which has been a problem for me in the past.

2 days without drops for homeopathic, 3 days for injections :)
