P3~P4 SIMEONS PROTOCOL OCTOBER 2012

Here's a new thread for October P3/P4 maintainers.

:jumpjoy:

Keep posting ladies! It's what keeps us honest when we get past the exciting "losing" stage to the less exciting and more challenging "staying the same" stages!

:p :aprayer: ;)

I'll be 45 this month and I, for one, am going to try and keep these extra pounds off for another year--by hook or by crook!

:D

dawnyama 10-08-2012 04:44 PM

:birthday::birthday: Shelby!!! How exciting!!!!

Reddy 10-08-2012 05:09 PM

Thanks for starting a new thread.

I am so hungry tonight. I can't seem to find myself satisfied. I had a steak and broccoli for dinner so I shouldn't be hungry but I am. Trying to hold off but I have been really hungry the past two days. Weird.

I already screwed up a bit today but I'm determined not to make things worse. I want to be in the window tomorow!!!

julieboolie 10-08-2012 05:09 PM

Thanks Shelby!! and :birthday: a bit early!! What a wonderful bday gift!! Skinny minnie!! How's the new guy, btw? Still as dreamy? Hope so. That would also make a lovely gift ;) :whistle:

Ate a yummy alfredo chicken dinner!! Red peppers, parm cheese :yummy:. That's fun!! :)

Off to softball!! Go DesertView!! Hope we win!! Dh is playing tonight. And it'd be so nice if he could win!! (not that I would mind ;)).

What are you hungry FOR, reddy? If you had carbs, it's probably head-hunger sugar cravings. Gets me every time I cheat! Try some sort of mad fat thing, like cream cheese and sweetener and cocoa powder. Legal and the fat usually helps keep me satisfied. :)

Hi all!

I'm still trying to make my way back down to my range, depending on where I'm at on the 18th will be the final word on if I do another round. I'm 90% sure at this point that I'm doing a round, so, YAY? :annoyed:

Honestly, it's my fault. I have NO portion control when it comes to corn chips. Once I start eating them I will NOT stop until they're gone. I finally had a chance to read Weight Loss Apocalypse and am starting to realize what my triggers are and that 95% of the time I eat I am NOT HUNGRY. I'm going to do the round WLA style, eating to hunger and NOT WEIGHING! I'll weigh in the morning of my first loading day and then last dose day. This is the plan anyways. This upward trend started the weekend of my birthday. Lots of cheese and wine, and more cheese and wine. Oh, and corn chips and mexican food! Had the 'glu-flu' for a few days which didn't help any. GRRR. Now I know for sure that I can't handle wheat anymore.

I feel like a walking plague today, thankfully I baked up some chicken thighs last night planning to do a CD today so it made brekkie/lunch/dinner easier on me. Doc at first thought it was the flu but test came back negative so now if anything gets worse doc lady said it might be early stages of pneumonia. Not fun. At least I'm feeling better now, before I didn't even want to LOOK at my laptop let alone get online. Progress!

Everything and Anything lol! But yeah, I agree, I bet the muffin triggered it. I find I"m not hungry when I eat truly low carb but if I have any carbs it's bad news bears.

I ended up having a bowl of Strawberries and Blueberries with Whipped Cream. It was good but of course I still feel like grazing. It's almost 10 so I'm going to try and not eat anything more although that Cream Cheese, Sweetner and Cocoa Powder could be good. Care to share the amounts of each thing for that recipe? lol.

I can not eat chips. I eat one and I could eat the whole bag. So I try to avoid them at all costs!!!

Oh and the Wine, that's another thing that once I have a glass, it leads to two and then three and before I know it I'm face down in a bowl of ice cream or corndogs or something terrible lol!

I hope your CD works for you and I am glad you are feeling better!!!

Reddy 10-08-2012 07:26 PM

Ok Shelby I just made that Cream Cheese, Cocoa and Stevia and OMG wow. So yummy. What took me so long?

This would make a great frosting on something! Mmmy

julieboolie 10-08-2012 11:07 PM

Reddy-:hugs: the carb monster kills me too! That's exactly why the HS doesn't work well for me.if you we're eating to hunger tonight, it would have been easy to go overboard, don't you think? Good for you choosing healthy controlled options!:up: hope you're down some tomorrow!

Amy-but that beautiful cake dbf made you was LC! You even froze some for later, right? I was really impressed and encouraged by how well you did on your bday. The weight is pretty fresh still right? Maybe a few CDs will get you back down. A whole 'nother round? Wow! You'll be even skinnier ;) WTG!

Happily done w/ our doubleheader. Won our first game, lost the second. It was fun though :). I'm tired now, all showered and ready for bed. Resisted froyo Afterwards, which was hard. Have several bites though. Hope I'm not up from it tomorrow. Should be ok :). Gnite!

LaraSuzz 10-09-2012 05:34 AM

lol speaking of sweets I drank a glass of hwc with spenda the other day lol...

Ok I'm down 3 lbs from my bacon coffee day. ate almost a pack of bacon and 32 oz coffee with cream splenda and sf toriani syrup. skipped dinner. had a diet squirt.

Trader Joes has new Kale chips, they are kinda ugly but they dont taste bad. Plus their new Pumpkin spice coffee is nummy.

This morning I got to work and the door was locked so I knocked and I was kinda mad because others had gotten there and didnt unlock the door. Someone opened it for me but I knew that I only had a minute and a half to clock in... and I said something about them not unlocking the door and they got an attitude... and then I said dont get mad......so im already in a foul mood. Maybe tomorrow I will get here and leave it locked and see how they like it. :mad:

Finally saw my ex... realized I dont care for him anymore! Which is kind of a relief cause I was hung up on him for a long time.

At least I can eat my omlet. lol :yummy:

julieboolie 10-09-2012 07:27 AM

Lara-your personality shines through in your posts! :laugh: Love it!! Glad you're over your ex. On to someone new!! :up: And WTG on your loss!! :up: 3 lbs? Bacon, you say? Hmmm! :yummy: Yes, btw, I leave Sat. morning for a week in Ensenada. Going on a missions trip w. my church (taking dd (12) along too). We'll be building a house :stars:. :up:

I'm holding steady. LDW+0.4 today. Happy w. that. I like weighing 143!! (0.6 ;)). We won our first softball game, but lost the second. Same team, double header. I was beat when we got home :(. Sigh. I'm old and out of shape :down:. I realize I rarely exercise now. Occasional walks and Monday night softball. Sigh. I need to get cracking w. it. But, I also know I'll struggle w. the scale. When I'm barely exercising I stabilize much more easily!! (so far so good :D). Sigh. I'll be doing more physical labor this next week in Mexico so I'm sure I'll be good and sore and sleep well :up:. Hard to believe I leave Sat. Washed lots of clothes, including my "too big" jeans. That'll give me a better start to wearing them.
Have a great, on plan day ladies!!

Congrats on winning the first game!!! And good for you for resisting chowing down on the Froyo! Especially after two games!!!

You are so right that if I would have eaten to hunger last night I would have eaten everything in sight.

Shelbys suggestion of the Cream Cheese with Cocoa and Stevia did the trick. It was SOOO filling I couldn't even eat it all. And it was yummy too!

Lara, CONGRATS on the 3lbs loss! Isn't it amazing that you did that by eating something so high in fat like bacon??? Awesome stuff.

We don't have Trader Joes here but I just got the Pumpkin Spice coffee from Fresh Market and it's SOOOOO good. I also found Sugar Free Pumpkin SPice creamer for my coffee. I will use it sparingly b/c I know it's not ideal but it's better than the stuff full of sugar right? I'm obsessed with all things pumpkin ESPECIALLY this time of year!

I'd be angry at my co-workers too. If it's about clocking in on time then they should have let you in faster! I'm sorry that's crappy.

On a positive note, how awesome that you are totally over your ex. Isn't it nice when you have that moment of clarity and feel truly done with it? Like what was I wasting my energy on?

Back when I was on the dating scene I'd fall hard for jerks and then I'd get so sad when they screwed me over but what I found was that often times what it takes to get over a bit of heart ache is someone new. Nothing like someone shiny and new and BETTER to make you realize what you're NOT missing!!!

Julie, you're doing awesome with maintenance. Being just a tad over each day.... that's perfect. You're not over your window or even close! Keep it up!

Smart idea to use the too big jeans for this. Ensenada, without looking it up, isn't that just south of Cali? It's baja right? I feel like I"ve been there. It's like near rosarita or something?

My husbands family is from Orange County and we went to Mexico on Christmas a few times... they would rent a place down in Baja... Eat yummy lobsters on the cheap lol!

I think it's so wonderful that you are doing mission work like this. I haven't done much in the way of charity in a few years (Save for donations and such) and I miss it. There is something so satisfying about doing hands on charity work that makes you feel so good. To know you are making a real difference and to see it happen! Enjoy it Julie!

As for me, I'm down 3lbs from my failed CD! lol. I managed to keep it High Fat and mostly low carb and it worked!

I ate bacon for Breakfast, Corned Beef for Lunch, Steak and Broccoli with Butter for dinner... BUT I also had some slips that I expected to give me trouible and they didn't. Half a pumpkin muffin, a hand full of chocolate covered almonds, two pieces of sugar free chocolate. I also had the cream cheese thing late night as well as a piece of cheese and some salami. So I ate a LOT yesterday but it was mostly high fat and it worked! Woo hoo!

LDW + .4 this morning like you Julie!

Yay for that!

Time to get to work!

LaraSuzz 10-09-2012 08:39 AM

Aw I love you guys. lol.

Nice loss on your "kind of" CD day Reddy!!! choco cream cheese thingy sounds really good... and as for the ex he's 31 now and still acts like he's 20 getting into trouble tattoos everywhere... talked about how he moved to a different state for a girl he liked for years and two days after he got there she dumped him. I just looked at him and said karma is a "B" isnt it? Ya. No thanks. lol

Julie~ I have been to Ensenada many times, you will have a blast, hope its not too hot! Nice that you're building a house there! Feels good to do things like that. Be safe down there... I know youre not leaving until Sat...
I'm happy youre holding steady, funny how some rounds can be so tough to stabilize is there anything that can attribute your success this time around?

WOW!! WTG!! :up: That's quite a nice drop form your "failed" CD!!;) :high5: It's just a great indication that it was just quick water gain and so happy to see it go!! And your body likes being at LDW area! :yahoo: You're doing great also!! I haven't had any cream cheese yet, playing is super safe over here. Watching you have a few slip indulgences and still being good on the scale is tempting me to test the waters a bit more. I am a bit chicken though :o. I went to college in Irvine (UCI) so I've been to TJ and Rosarita. Never gotten down to Ensenada. Should be nice weather there next week (if accuweather is to be believed ;)). It does feel nice to be useful. I hope to be a blessing to this family. I'm also looking forward to dd's (and mine) perspectives being adjusted a bit. We're both so spoiled and lack an appreciation for all we have. I hope that improves after this visit. ;)

Lara-What's working? I'm being really careful this time around. Super clean-no nuts, I've had 1 piece of cheese all week, no cream cheese, no sugar, starch or frankenfoods-fake flours, recipes etc. Just meat, salad, dressing, yogurt, cottage cheese, butter, quest bars, veggies, fruit, cream. I admit it's a bit boring and starting to get old for me, but so far, so good. I'm tempted by almonds, cream cheese and froyo. I know I'll be giving in to at least one of those soon. But, I have had days when I'm at 1800-1900cals and others when I'm at 1500 and the scale is about the same. So the cals don't seem to hurt any. It's pretty high fat and I try to have equal #g of fat and protein each day. Or at least close. :) So far, so good. But I know there are rapids ahead!! :stars:

Julie good for you for being so good and careful. I'd say give a few things a try (one at a time) but since you have the trip coming up, maybe wait until you get back to start toying with things and testing the "waters" so to speak.

I am really happy to have some freedom to eat things that are a bit "risky" and get away with it. The fact that I was able to go out and enjoy myself 3 weekends in a row and still manage to get back to LDW (more or less) is awesome!

You don't have to HOPE to be a blessing to this family, you 100% absolutely are. It's always good to be humbled a bit and see what a difference a small group of dedicated caring people can make!

Karma really is B! Sounds like someone not worthy of you anyway. The choco cream cheese is really good. Very heavy and rich and yum city! It's esentially chocolate cream cheese frosting!

Reddy 10-09-2012 10:21 AM

Oh, so far my menu for today is Coffee with HNH and a slice of Smoked Gouda for breakfast.

Eating lunch now. Chic Fil A Garden Salad with Chicken Salad on top. Yummy!

ML - I soooooo hear ya on the corn chips! Potato, just meh. But corn--look out! And Doritos or Fritos--fuggedaboutit! :eek: Hope you feel better. Pound the lemon water with your chicken thighs. Extra Vitamin C can't hurt, right? :console:

Reddy - I know, right??!! It's awesome! It DOES make great frosting too! ;) And if I have something that high fat it seems to just KILL any cravings I have. I also do the cc thing with mushed up strawberries and sweetener for something different and non-chocolate. The other thing that I do to kill cravings if I am having trouble with cream cheese is I take 3/4 to 1 c of heavy cream, 1/2t of vanilla, sweetener to taste (I LOVE the KAL brand of powdered stevia and Luo Han--only have to use one packet it's so sweet!), and a tablespoon or so of unsweetened cocoa powder, put it in a small food processor and whip it until it gets pudding like (usually < a minute). Best chocolate mousse ever! Sometimes I add a couple of strawberries. But seriously yum.

Julie - at some point when you visit SoCal, we are going to have to make a point of having a meetup. :) My company has an office in Irvine so I can certainly arrange to be in the area. I love meeting LCFs in person! :D I know that Jessica/Verbqueen, Sheri/Zbunny, and Chantal are in the OC area too.

Hiya to everyone else out there! :hiya:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, after my clean day yesterday, which consisted of a ton of calories (probably again close to 3000), I'm down 1.6 to 144.4 so a little less than 2 over my window. I really do think that the super high fat a la optimal diet/FF proportions is serving me well this time around. I'm not sure what the plan is for today. I'm feeling a bit under the weather. I thought the losing the voice thing was from the concert Friday night (Offspring/Neon Trees/Dead Sara rockin' the Palladium!) but I started feeling kinda cr@ppy yesterday afternoon. Took a megadose of C, some zinc, and an extra 10mg of cortisol last night and feel somewhat human today. Stayed home from work though and slept about 12 hours. I always know when I sleep that much that I'm coming down with something. Here's hoping I nipped it in the bud... I had a bp coffee and may have another soon. I have a flank steak marinating in the fridge so I may go for traditional steak day if I can handle it. We'll see.
Everyone have a good one! :)
Um, this needs to happen. Probably tonight. YUM!
Congrats on being down and under window. Amazing after a trip like you took.
Well, I know I shouldn't have weighed today. UGH. UP after one UD and one DD cycle from where I weighed Sunday, and I said I wasn't going to weigh until Thursday. Who knows why - fluid, hormones, medications. LIW +4-something now. Doing a P3-UD today and another good DD tomorrow. I might try Lara's BACON CD LOL..... when you say "a whole pack" do you mean 12 oz or a pound? and you ate it all day, nothing else but coffee and hnh? Seriously curious here :)
On a side note, I haven't taken one of my medications now in days and I'm sleeping ok with just my muscle relaxer, valerian and a time-release melatonin. The muscle relaxer, flexiril, does make me retain water. But why couldn't it retain water and me be 3 or 4 pounds lower on the scale ?! LOL..... I need to really strictly count my UD on the calorie counter. I have been slack, sorta counting and sorta not on UD. Need to tighten it up :) it's ok though, I'd rather be this weight and fighting to stay here than 100 pounds higher!
Congrats on being down and under window. Amazing after a trip like you took.
I confess that I have been eating this mousse thing almost every night. It's seriously like 1000 calories but soooooo good! And it keeps the fat high and it hasn't been hurting me (in fact the opposite!) so why not? :D
Btw, I did the underwater Musa in Isla. It was ok and the statues were appropriately creepy but there are definitely cooler things to see just on the reef down there. The corals are so amazing they take my breath away!
:hiya: C'Marie! Sorry you're up sweetie! :hugs: You and Julie are my inspirations to NEVER give up!!!
NEVER NEVER.
Reddy-I'm w. you. I think higher fats seem to make the rest of it work itself out. I know you have done so well w. this hcg stuff. You make it all work. :up: So happy for you. And I love smoked gouda. I have some in the fridge but I don't want to overdo it yet. It's so good!! Good advice, I don't want to push it too much, too soon ;).
Shelby-yes! I'd love to meet up IRL one of these trips. I already told dh :laugh:. We're going to be out there in mid-late Nov. We're packing a great deal into that trip, but will be in LA doing the touristy Hollywood thing on Fri. Nov. 23. We've got Disneyland the next 2 days and SF the week before. We're squeezing too much in, our BFFs from PA will be with us. We get out to Cali a few times a year. :) I'll PM you when it gets closer ;). And I love the choc. mousse idea a lot! I buy the can from WM that's already sweetened w. splenda. They were out last visit :annoyed:. I have come to depend on it as my "treat".
Marie- :down: That's a bummer!! I'm sure you're frustated! :mad: I would be! Hope your LCing gets you down the next few days. Hang in there sweetie!! :)
I'm getting more adventurous. I had my bacon, and a cheese omlette for bfst. Had my BP coffee too. (Thanks Shelby for the advice to whip up a small amount w. the butter first - worked well.). Also added a bit more butter today :yummy: Almost carmel-ly. I'll do leftover alfredo chicken for lunch. I'm hungry though :down:. I'll be fine, and need to not fear eating when I'm hungry. I just need to make good choices. :)
Shelby-that was a nice thing to say! :love: You're a big inspiration to me too!
THAT! Right there. You may be teetering a bit from LDW but overall you are maintaining well and you have lost so much so you should be so proud. Sorry you're up a bit but maybe that Bacon and Coffee CD will work well for you!
So I'm totally trying that tonight. I'lllet you know how it turns out. I just got a new blender and it has a food processer attachment so I'll use that! Excited.
That's awesome that you dove that spot. Even if it wasn't the best spot, it was unique and different I"d imagine right? The water there and the reefs look so amazing. I am thinking I need to go there.
We did Cancun once and Playa Del Carmen once but that was before we were certified... I want to dive down there!
This talk has just inspired me to look into a trip. MY husband keeps saying how he wants to take an island trip, just us soon and I agree that we really need it. With the holidays coming up I just didn't know when we could do it.
BUT our 3rd Wedding Anniversary is in January so maybe we can plan something for then. We would have to make arrangements for someone to watch our Son... which would add a big expense b/c it likely means flying his mother out from California to watch him. So that's another plane ticket we'd have to spring for, but I"m seriously going to research this.
The other place we were going to check out for our next trip was Belize but Isla Mujeres looks amazing!
We went to Antigua on our honeymoon and thought we'd dive the whole time but the diving SUCKED! Nothing at all to see. IT was just dead reef. So sad. BUT Antigua was beautiful.
Anyway, I'm getting excited just thinking about a trip like that. And now that I've lost weight, I could actually feel ok in a swim suit in public!
Maybe this will also be like a trip to take before we move onto baby #2!
Mmm yay for Bacon. I think the high fats work so well. I'm realizing it more and more! Butter, Bacon, Cream Cheese. YES PLEASE!
Julie - The whipping cream when you make it like this is way more like pudding than the stuff coming out of the can. I'm not really quite sure why but is gets really really thick. :yummy: Glad the bp coffee worked and yes, caramel! YUM! Do PM me if you have time when you're out here. If not, no worries! You'll be out here at some point when you have more time! :hugs:
Let me know how you like the mousse!
I'm glad I dove the spot. It was unique. Probably won't do it again but I'm glad I did it. If you look into it and get serious, let me know if you want any travel tips. Isla is SUPER inexpensive. Less than 1/4 of the cost of even a reasonably priced stay in Cancun, or Key West, or Hawaii. When I went in June, we stayed in a fantastic hotel outside of town for $66 a night. Beautiful, overlooking the ocean, nice patio, etc. This last time I stayed in town at a funky little low rent place for about $40 a night. Drinks and food are dead cheap too! And I obviously know the places to eat, drink, and of course the best dive shop on the island! ;)
Awesome! I Mentioned it to DH and he sounded open to it but didn't really say too much! Going to try and look into it tonight...
We're also thinking of a mini vacation here in Florida WITH the little one..and doing his first trip to Disney on Super Bowl Sunday (parks are empty!)
LaraSuzz 10-09-2012 02:19 PM
mmm chicky alfredo with spinach sounds good for dindin.:yummy:
cocoapeanut 10-09-2012 02:30 PM
MAN I'm in full lurk mode and keep reading about beaches and islands!! When's our next travel trip guys?! :laugh:
Oh, Julie, don't forget about me when you come to SoCal! :hiya: :love:
I had chicken Alfredo for lunch! W/ roasted red peppers and a little bacon crumpled in (carbonara style) :yummy: it was good-crockpot all day yesterday :up:. Enjoy!
Shelby-ill have to try that mousse. Right up my alley. Gotta buy more HWC. Trader joes has a good quality one you say? I get the one at WM in the big carton :o. Sometime soon we'll get together. How fun!:)
Reddy-dd(9)'s first trip it WDW was when she was 1.5. She was terrified of the characters, but truthfully it was amazing and the pics of her crying w/ Mickey et. al a priceless :laugh:. We're huge Disney fans!! Can't wait for our DL trip in Nov.
Cocoa-soon my friend! Butter, cream and more meat await! Yes, I'd love to get together in Ca. W you too!
Confessions time for me too! I had "a few" mocha coated almonds. They were really, really good! And I was pretty hungry. I ended up losing track of how many I ate. I knew it was too many, but kept on going. :down: drat! :annoyed: so much for getting below LDW before I leave Sat. I'll be eating lightly for dinner. Plugged it into ******, and my numbers still look ok. If I do a light dinner I may not be crushed on the scale tomorrow. It's also the 2nd day after softball, which seems to be a rough weigh day for some reason. Oh well, into every life, a little rain must fall. Can't undo it now!
julieboolie 10-09-2012 03:16 PM
Oh yeah, just 1 more thing. :love: you guys are the best! :heart:
