I said no to both red velvet cake and rocky road ice cream cake today.... im so proud of myself. They were all "Mmmm this is so good" and I was like "mmm salad" and everyone laughed. ah, just wait rocky road I will have you one day. I'm in p4 now but I dont wanna go crazy just yet.
I already had sushi on Saturday and Sunday with minimal gain, but I dont want to start going crazy yet. I think that when I do eat sugars and carbs better to go with whole foods rather than flour, even tho I ate rice and sweet rice vinegar and beer I think thats why I didnt gain so much...

Yes, today is day one. I had an egg w/three whites for breakfast, cooked in the smallest smidge of butter, a salad with 3.5 oz grilled chicken, raw mushrooms, red pepper (missed those), a quarter of a small avocado and just one tbs of blue cheese dressing for lunch, and I'm having a small grilled salmon fillet plus some plain veggies for dinner (I missed salmon MORE THAN ANYTHING). Taking it REALLY slowly, and that's fine. I consider this the hard part and treating it really seriously, period.

Hey Buttah welcome to P3! I missed salmon too! So yummy and perfect pick for a fatty fish! I make my own tartar sauce too with mayo sf relish (Walmart)dill salt pep... yum.
I can't believe I stayed the same this am cause yesterday I felt like I ate all day. I had an omlet with cheddar coffee with cream a salad with chicken tomato cuc olives feta onion, went home had a hot dog, some roast chicken with brie.... put a chuck roast in the crock pot with cream of mushroom soup(some carbs in there) Worchestire and onion carrot mushrooms... ate that at 9pm... lol I was afraid to get on the scale... I actually did the one eye closed peek at the number... and actually planned to do a steak CD... cause im still 2 ish out of the window. but im ok with it for today since I'm the sameas yesterday lol. This was my baby test to see if I would gain with the cream of mushroom canned soup and the Worchestire which both have flour wheat sugar etc but small amounts... I think the body is ready for some real carbs.... and or sugar.. A very long time ago someone told me something that made sense... they said and this applies to P4 which is where most of us get into trouble... and I think its mentioned in P&I... when you incorporate starches and sugars choose one at a time... like meat and potato or chicken and cranberries not protein starch and sugar together... which makes sense... something I didnt do yesterday but is worth checking out. |

Thanks, LaraSuzz. My clinic actually has a very slow and specific ramp-in system for starches/sugars in P4. If I can get around to it, I'll type it out and post.
I had a bit of SF peanut butter on half an apple yesterday, as well. My only fruit for the day. Woke up nearly a lb below LIW (which was also my weight 24 hours after my last injection - a weight I consider my true, albeit lower, LIW). Very happy. |

@Buttah, as always, YMMV, but some say peanut butter is best reserved for P4 because it's actually a legume, and more starchy than other nuts. I had a little in my first P4's because I didn't know that, so just passing it along in case it'll be helpful. If not, hey, guess what, you're doing GREAT! just like I told you that you would
@Lara, I am one that does ONE starch or sugar a day, in early P4, in fact I repeat it two days in a row (the same thing) just in case to see a delayed effect. I also do starch/sugar early in the day to give my body time before bed to burn it off. LOL

Marie, I was surprised to see PB on the P3 list from my clinic, but since they have limits on and gradual increases with fats in general, that may be why they include it. I was a bit nervous about it and I may wait to have it again, but going on day one, no issues. Could be that I just didn't go nuts with calories in general.
I just used some SF ketchup in my lunch today - hope that's okay. I'm really not worried, though. I was ABOUT to have a piece of bacon for breakfast when I noticed sugar in its ingredients - kind of a shocker. There must be bacon without sugar!

Buttah - Welcome back to P3! On the bacon without sugar...Costco, Albertson's and Ralph's all have "low sodium" bacon that does not have sugar. I always look for low sodium bacon these days because it seems like they are less likely to have sugar.
ETA: If you are ok with sucralose, Heinz has a low-sugar catsup that doesn't have any added sugars. It has Splenda and the natural tomato sugars. fyi ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, my day yesterday went as planned which is always good. I LOVE chicken thighs but have gotten used to having that little something sweet at the end of the meal (fruit) which I don't have on cd's. I ended up having 3 bp coffees and two chicken thighs for lunch. I wasn't really hungry last night so didn't have dinner. This morning--holy water retention, Batman! Down 3.6 so just a hair under 145, which is my ceiling (not my window, mind you, my ceiling! ). Keeping it clean today with bp coffee, nice fatty salad for lunch, some fruit (apple), and a healthy dinner. Maybe some high fat mousse tonight? We'll see. Anyway, pleased with the result and loving bp coffee!

Btw, for anyone interested (and not subscribed) there is a very interesting blog post from Michael Eades (the Protein Power guy) around inflammtory effects of food. I thought it was thought provoking given the discussions around here about "my body likes beef" or "my body doesn't like fish." A very small study and a little old but interesting nonetheless.

.4 over window. That's what I get for trying to add some carbs in P4. Carbs hate me. Nothing I can't fix with a clean eating day but it's always frustrating!

Buttah I use the low sugar ketchup from heinz all the time. I also haven't worried too much about bacon with some sugar but if I was eating a ton of bacon then maybe I would. I have heard mixed things about PB as
Well so I stick with almond butter. Mmm. Apples are high in sugar so I think you'd be better with other fruits like berries but idk for sure. Things are crazy here sorry not to address everyone individually but hope you're all doing well. Driving down to MIA again tomorrow to see my Nana so hopefully traveling won't cause me to gain. |

to p3! Looks good to me!I lost 1.4 yesterday without doing a thing. Everyone was trying to make me eat leftover ice cream cake at work but I resisted! Then they felt guilty about eating it lol I really would like a bagel tho...Today I feel poopy. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with a generally icky feeling but I wasnt quite sure if I was dreaming or not. I think i will watch something less scary on tv, it was an episode of Paranormal Witness man that show scares me!!!! |

Lara good for you for resisting. It's not easy!
I need to learn to say no. I'm already finding myself saying oh just one or two bites won't hurt. YES THEY WILL and they're so not worth it! I'm craving pizza in a serious way and I know I can't have it. Need to stop thinking about it. On Tom is due tomorrow which is probably causing me water retention and Bloat. Fun! |

Make this pizza its really good and will satisfy your pizza craving! Wonderful low carb deep dish pizza! Ingredients: 4 ounces cream cheese, softened 2 eggs 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, 1 ounce (I used the kind in a can) 1/4 teaspoon oregano or Italian seasoning 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 8 ounces Italian cheese blend or mozzarella cheese, shredded 1/4 cup pizza sauce 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded Assorted toppings: pepperoni, ham, sausage, 4 ounce can mushrooms, green peppers, bacon, ground beef, etc. Dash of garlic pepper or garlic powder and some Italian seasoning for top of pizza How To Prepare: DEEP DISH PIZZA 4 ounces cream cheese, softened 2 eggs 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, 1 ounce (I used the kind in a can) 1/4 teaspoon oregano or Italian seasoning 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 8 ounces Italian cheese blend or mozzarella cheese, shredded 1/4 cup pizza sauce 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded Assorted toppings: pepperoni, ham, sausage, 4 ounce can mushrooms, green peppers, bacon, ground beef, etc. Dash of garlic pepper or garlic powder and some Italian seasoning for top of pizza In a medium bowl, whisk cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Whisk in eggs until mixture is well-blended and smooth. Add the parmesan and seasonings, then stir in the 8 ounces of mozzarella until completely moistened. Spread cheese mixture evenly in a well-greased 9x13" glass baking dish or lightly greased and lined with parchment paper (see note below). Bake at 375ş 20-25 minutes or until evenly browned, but not too dark. Let cool completely on a wire rack. When nearly cooled, take a metal spatula and carefully pry up the edges to loosen from pan. Ease the spatula under the whole crust to loosen. Keep crust in the pan. This makes it easier to remove the finished pizza later. Refrigerate, uncovered, until shortly before serving time. Spread chilled crust with pizza sauce, then cheese and toppings of your choice. Lightly sprinkle with seasonings of your choice. Bake at 375ş about 15-20 minutes or until toppings are bubbly. Let stand a few minutes before cutting. Linda says,I don't recommend making this in a metal baking pan as it will stick making the pizza very difficult to remove and the pan very hard to clean. I think I may have discovered the secret to a crispy crust. I left the baked crust uncovered in the refrigerator for several hours. I think that allowed it to dry out a bit so that it became crisp during the second baking with the toppings. I was able to pick the pizza up in my hands. NOTE: If you lightly grease the pan and line it with parchment paper, you'll have no trouble removing the pizza from the pan later. Greasing the pan makes the parchment stick to it so you can easily spread the crust batter. |

Someone walked by my desk just now and I told them I wasn't feeling well, and she says to me "Well then you need to go home because you're exposing us all to your sickness and I don't want to get sick."
So I said, it's probably allergies. Dont stay here or I will lick you... and she laughed and walked away quickly and then I said gimme a kiss... |

Oh pizza things, yay!
I was weirdly up 3 lbs to 165 on Tuesday, so I did an emergency BP coffee day on Tuesday and was back down -2.8 to 162.2 yesterday. Then, I made yesterday a high fat day (and kinda high cals, probably around 2200), and am down another 0.6 today to 161.6. I had a bunch of cream cheese and cheddar cheese at lunch time, and a lot of hwc at dinner plus in my coffee during the day! If something justifies eating chocolate hwc mousse and a chocolate mug cake for dinner (I needed some chocolate pretty bad, lol!), then I have no complaints ![]() We will see if I can repeat today - depends on whether or not I get lunch with coworkers. Shelby -- I read the Eades post. It was interesting! I'm also glad to see him posting more..I fell out of checking his blog because he didn't update all that frequently. Not a perfect study, but I agree that it should be further researched. Plus the thought of all food causing inflammation and the necessities of survival (food and oxygen) slowly killing us over time stuck with me. Reddy -- I would think that it's actually a bit normal to see a bounce up when you eat carbs after not eating them for a while. If you want to keep carbs in your life and not freak out too much about them, I feel like you will have to eat them (just a bit carefully) and see how you land and where you stabilize. You know that if you start gaining too much, you can fix it. Good luck my dear Lara -- Great job resisting! I love rocky road ice cream. Heck, I love ice cream! And ice cream cake! Mmmm. Resisting stuff at work gets so draining after a while, so I only cave if it's good and I know that I will accept it, own it, and have no regrets. If I know it's not worth it...then nope! I also tend to cave if the social pressure gets too intense for me, but that only really happens over time..like if I've already turned down a million other things. In those situations I just try to get away with a teensy bit. Ah, the things I'm learning about myself! So about this pizza...hehehe. Have a great day y'all ![]()

Hi everyone. After a late'ish night and a dark o'clock morning, I was down another 0.8 to be skimming the 144 range (144.1) and locked in my cd losses yesterday. Still 1.5 over my window (142.6) and 3.5 over LIW but I'm thinking 144 may be my stabilization point which I am completely cool with. I just want to keep it under 145. Plus my "girls" look a LOT better at 145 than 140!
I ate a huge salad yesterday for lunch with an apple and had every intention of eating chicken thighs and chocolate mousse for dinner but I got home late so just knoshed on some chicken thighs before bed. It was probably a pretty low cal day but hey, I was eating to hunger so I'll take any drops I can!Stressing about my bday coming up--not because of food but just because historically bday's have been pretty sucky for me. PLUS I'm hitting a big 5 marker (45). PLUS multiple dudes are being weirdos. PLUS work is stressing me out. PLUS I am feeling some sort of hormonal challenge--ovulation, phantom TOM (thank you Mirena!), or other. <sigh> Just trying to make it through so I can plan my next trip to Mexico... On the plus side, my basal temps are up to normal range after really hitting bottom for quite a few months so my thyroid and adrenals are handling themselves pretty well. Sorry for no personals today although Lara, I did get a good chuckle out of the "I'll lick you" comment... ![]() Be well y'all... |

Can I just say that I HATE P3??!!! I am so close to being out of my window that I am doing a CD today. Up an entire pound today. I have had just 3 eggs so I am doing the egg day! I cannot stand to be up and down and then up and up and up again. So I think I am going to move to JUDDD now!!! I won't wait to be in P4 because I cannot seem to get a handle on P3 right now. So we will see how that goes LOL. Great time to be starting it--the weekend right?? Ugh my timing is just not that great. Maybe on Monday I can do it. We will see what the scale says tomorrow.

![]() I went to a sushi place for lunch so I basically had a little lettuce, a cup of soup, and a few pieces of meat. My coworkers were talking about how they were so full but I was still hungry, lol! I figured it was because I skipped the rice. So then I went straight to a meeting where there were some leftover sandwiches so I ate a piece of chicken with tomato from the inside of one and drank some Coke Zero and finally felt satisfied. Also snacked on some cheddar cheese and an apple today. Not sure if I will eat dinner, we'll see! If I do it will probably be another mug cake ![]() ![]() |

Dawn, Shelby, sorry to hear you're struggling.
Shelby, I'm sure the combination of things is what is bringing you down but hopefull that feeling will pass. Dawn, I always feel the same way when I first start P3 but the two times I've done it, I've found myself starting to stabilize after 4-5 days. I guess that's where you are though so if you're still not able to stabilize, go to JUDD> I"m thinking of starting it in a week or so. Maybe. Cocoa, glad to see you are down below your LDW! I haven't tried BP coffee but I may one of these days. So what's the recipe for that mug cake? I may have to try that too!! I wasn't great today but I didn't eat any carbs. Ok that's a lie, I little bit but not much. I had half of a bun with my burger. I know I know. I don't know why I did that. I think TOM is the cause of why I'm up as much as the introduction of a few carbs. The two don't mix. Hopefully in a few days I'll feel better. Off to Miami in the morning so I probably won't be able to check in too much. Have a good weekend everyone. |

I've had a crazy couple days and barely time to type, let alone read, so please forgive me.
I am right below LIW today, my third day of P3 - pretty much where I was yesterday morning as well. Riskiest things I've eaten so far have been a teaspoon of peanut butter (2 of the days) and a few cashews (both on my doctor's P3 "plan.") Oh, and one piece of bacon. One day I had a third of a cup of low fat cottage cheese. Just using olive oil to cook and coat my grilled veggies has been HEAVEN. I may need to find some of those SF chocolate covered almonds. Maybe after I have a week under my belt. Last edited by buttah; 10-18-2012 at 06:31 PM.. |

Mug cake is so easy and yummy. Let's see here.. 1 T coconut flour 2 T cocoa powder 2-3 T powdered stevia (or other sweetener to taste) 1/2 t baking powder Mix together in a large mug. Then add: 1 egg 2 T sugar-free syrup (I really like 1 T vanilla and 1 T english toffee) Coconut flour can clump, so mix very well. Cover top with plastic wrap and poke a hole (next time I'm going to test it to see if I can omit that step). Microwave for 45-50 seconds, depending on the strength of your microwave and whether you want it a little wet at the bottom for that "molten" effect. Wanna be fancy? Invert onto a cute plate, cut in half, and top with fresh berries and whipped cream. Look at you, stunner! An impatient chocoholic with no one to impress (aka myself)? Grab the nearest spoon, eat from the mug, and don't burn your mouth. |

Had some sf chocolate covered almonds last night and today I'm up 1.4 ish. Tis is irritating but I won't let it derail me. I'm 3.6 out of the stupid window again. sheesh. I had two eggs two sausage patties two clices cheese a coke zero a hot dog some cheddar some almonds and sf choc almonds... it had to be too much almonds.
oh ya I forgot to take the bc pill until later in the day that could be it too. I'm just getting very tired of watching every little thing that goes into my mouth. Saying no to things I want and still seeing spikes. I'm in p4 for crimonys sake. I'm taking lil baby steps and getting a lashing. I wish I could loose 6 lbs in one day lol. Wish I dnt think about food all the time. I need a hobby lol. Jewelry making maybe? cause lord knows dating men isnt giving me any satisfaction. ![]() I am taking myself on a date tonight to a club downtown to see my friends band play. Never actually met this guy before but he has been asking me to go to his show for 2 weeks now so I guess I will go see. I have strong suspicions that this guy and I wont be going out but at least it will be fun. ~Happy Friday Lara |

day 4 of P3 and still right below LIW. Very happy. Tummy very content. Yay life. More days like these, please.
As I contemplate a final short round to get to goal (and beyond), it's tempting to consider the homeo pellets (easier, cheaper without a clinic, etc.). But I wonder if there is any difference in stabilization between hhcg and RX. I've only "seen" a couple long-term solid maintainers around these parts (people who did their necessary rounds and have since not needed additional ones), and both were RX (one was privatediva, can't remember the other). There must be some hhhcg folks, too, right? Last edited by buttah; 10-19-2012 at 07:34 AM.. |
