Lol the funny thing about yesterday was that I brought a large bag of mixed nuts to work and ended up eating it all by mid-morning, so just made it a nut day and wasn't actually hungry the rest of the day. Just had coffee after that. Of course when I drank, I hadn't eaten in a long time so there was nothing in my stomach and I almost got drunk off of a couple of shots. Hit me like a torpedo!!

Oh helz.... I had to have SF froyo today. Yes, I did. On a DD. gotta add my cals and see how high of a DD it ended up being. UGH. I'm skipping dinner - that'll be it. Ok, it's 822 for the day. That's just over 45% or at maintenance calories. *whew*

But actually for someone who has ALWAYS had plenty of junk in the trunk, I think I'll take that as a compliment? It could use some toning though... Gah.

Well my steak day yesterday was a whopper with 2 bp coffees and another with cream for around 600-700 calories? About a pound of marinated flank steak (omg yum!), some cherry tomatoes, and an entire can of coconut milk with sweetenr and cocoa--can't stay out of the sweets! Again pushing the calorie ceiling here with guessing around 3000 calories and lots o fat. Despite no Bernice this morning, I was still down almost a pound today to land just 1 over my window. High fat, low carb today and hoping for another drop tomorrow. But cruising along under 145 and feeling fine!

I cook one whole pack of bacon, I like Oscar Meyer just the regular kind theres about 20 slices in it or Farmer Johns youll get 15 pieces...
It usually keeps me full all day. I usually skip dinner, and sometimes I have a Bacardi and diet coke and still loose... I think its a pound of bacon...
I also have a huge 32 oz of iced coffee with half and half or HWC and spenda.

Yesterday I lost 2 lbs. on this bacon day. I usually loose 2-3 lbs. I think its not as much as usual cause I gained that from excercise and it seems to be sticking more than normal. I'm still 2 out of the window.

I really want to tighten up my thighs and belly. If I do the ellyptical machine 30 minutes a day do you thin the water weight will come off a couple days later Shelby? I'm afraid to gain again. I thought I should concentrate on losing again but I dont really want to do that until the beginning of the year just to give my body a break. What are the chances of gaining inches like Julie mentioned when she works out she gets bigger...

I have a thyroid and hormonal imbalance (although most of us w. obesity issues have some degree of this) which is probably why I bulk more easily than most women. Typically, women don't get "bigger" when they work out. Most people try really, really hard to get bigger. Ah, the irony!! I'm sure you'll be fine and in a few days the water retention will subside. You're doing just fine (and the bacon day is really tempting me!!)

Reddy-See? Told you you'd be right back down!! Whatever you're doing, (homemade pumpkin ice cream, really?!! You're killing me here!! ) your body is quite happy with it!!

Cocoa-Not sure that particular CD is one I'll try . You're young!! But I hear ya' on the hitting you like a torpedo! I'm such a lightweight. On the rare occasion I have something, like a margarita, 1 is more than enough to make me loopy!!

Marie-hope the froyo didn't hurt you. I seem to still be paying for mine the other day .

Well, despite my "clean" P3 day yesterday I'm up 0.2. That bumps me 0.2 out of "window", which I know isn't a big deal, but I didn't reallly ear it. Maybe it's a second day residual additional gain from my froyo and almonds? But, what?!! I withstood many temptations yesterday, came in around 1500cals. I did have GY twice (kinda' a mini-CD idea), coffee/cream several times, and taco salad for dinner (homemade). Sigh. Must be TOM or exercise retention still . So, I'm thawing some steak, and will do an all beef day. Not a traditional, or even modified steak day. But, I'll do all beef, high fat, coffee/cream and see what tomorrow brings. Sigh. It's really not that much, but w. my trip to Mexico starting Sat. and knowing I won't be able to control or choose my dinners each day, I really, really would like to be AT or BELOW LDW before I leave. Suggestions?

Well, the scale is moving in the right direction. LIW +3 even. I ended up at 969 calories, I couldn't go to bed as hungry as I was from having SF froyo for "dinner" so I ended up having an egg and some bacon. So today will be in control, now that I have THAT out of my system LOL.....

Thanks for the bacon CD info, Lara. I may try that tomorrow

Well, I hope my first day of P3 is not going to be a CD. My goodness. I have eaten at work the last 2 days because I have not been losing. I normally don't eat because I notice that I don't lose....but I don't gain eating grilled chicken and salad at work. These past 2 days I have gained. So I ate at home today in hopes that I will be AT LDW tomorrow. This is hard!!! Oh, so hard.........geesh.

I just might do a fat fast tomorrow and through the weekend to drop a few pounds. I really do need to do that!!!

Dawn- I hear you!! Hopefully it'll settle down for you. Although, the FF is really iintriguing for me. I've never tried it (in 9+ years of Atkins). Many of the ladies here make it look so tempting though. And that success Abby has had (Cocoa too) is adding to the temptation.

Marie- the right direction works for me!! Wish my scale would go down.

I have to say, Steak is yummy!! I haven't made it here on my grill in a long time. I almost forgot how good a ribeye can be!! (my dogs appreciate my choice too as they're gnawing on the bones!). I may just turn this into a mini-steak (not very mini now!!) day. If only I believed it would work! I have been an unsuccessfull CDer in the past few rounds. So, I guess I'm doing a CD today. I'm not sure it's warranted, but I'm half way there .

Thanks Reddy! You're right, I have to keep in mind I'm not that far away from where I need to be. I really like the sound of HIGH FAT LOW CARB, it's so easy to start going after the "fat free or light" versions of things because you begin to think (again) these are the things you need to lose weight. Not so, I just find it really strange how the mind works and will do everything in it's power to get you to start thinking differently again. C'mon 'brain' get with it! lol
I think you and your family are beautiful and it's a shame you didn't get what you wanted with your family pics. I've also paid for a 'photo shoot' where I was rushed and not given any guidance or ideas, the photographer kept snapping at her assistant and then she was showing frustration with me because I wasn't able to 'relax' or do the 'right thing' for my pictures... Just unprofessional and the best thing you can do is tell everyone you know. Oh and find a better photographer or get a tripod.

Afternoon all... I was feeling super puffy this morning so I didn't weigh. Stupid salt salad accident! Tonight is yoga so I'll be up tomorrow as well from the exercise and out of town Saturday morning. Grrrr...I'll probably weigh tomorrow just for the heck of it. Tired today and my project that I have worked on for two years is finally FINALLY getting to the testing phase so I have been a busy little bee. No time for personals today but I hope everyone is doing ok...

Bitsky--too funny about the "get a tripod" LOL. That is how we do our pictures. We cannot afford professional shots of us. I have a husband and 4 children. Every Christmas we gather together and take a picture. The only way to get us all in the shot is if we do it on a tripod. Works for us!!!

I am thinking of doing a fat fast tomorrow and through the weekend. Should be done for about 3 days, so that is what I am thinking of doing. Just finished making some cream cheese muffins, baked some bacon earlier in the week, and have macadamia nuts in the fridge. I think I am set!! LOL. Oh, and we always have eggs and mayo in the house. Love those so much!!!

Bitsky& Dawn- we rely on the kindness of strangers while we're out and about. Most of the time we do ok. I think professional pics would be nice (albeit spendy!).

Still pretty full and content from my big steak at lunch. Didn't do the tomato (didnt' have one) or apple - afraid of the sugars today. So, I'll probably make some steak for the fam and if I get hungry have some. Or maybe some coffee, or a BP decaf coffee. We'll see. Surprised at how un-hungry I am.

Meh.

I ate low carb yesterday, but had a lot of veggies and I'm up again. I think I will go on a bacon coffee rum day lol. But I cant because I have a date with a toddler later... well he is of age but he just wouldnt take no for an answer so he gets one shot. I will probably regret this lol. I will have to arrange an "emergency call" to escape if it's horrible. lol

Keepin it meaty.

Fiber getting you down? This too shall pass ! Seriously though, don't overlook a youngin'. Dh is 5-6 years younger than me (depending on what month it is) and although I totally didn't even consider him in the beginning, he won me over. Enthusiasm, fun, attention & attentiveness, motivation were all much higher w. him than any guy I'd dated in a while. There were some bumps along the way (but I think that's how it goes w. all men, not just the younger ones ). But, it's working! Hope you have a great night!! (and enjoy the bacon!!).

Well, my modified steak day (double-steak day?) worked well. I did have a few bites at dinner while cutting it up for the fam. I really wasn't starving, but it was yummy! I'm down 2lbs today, to LDW+0.2!! I'm pleased w. that!! I did realize how much I like P3 foods yesterday though. I missed cheese (even though I haven't really had much this P3 yet), and my apple (wondering if this is a problem?), bacon, and those Quest bars? Weird what you "miss".

So, today? The "day after the CD" dilema-what do you eat the day after? Lock in the loss w.o. feeling deprived. I'm hoping/planning to keep it clean. Salad, check. Eggs&bacon? Maybe. We're doing dinner out tonight, but leaning toward Freddy's steak burgers (which I love and is safe if I stay away from their shoestring fries and custard).

Packing today! Can't believe I leave tomorrow morning at 7:30am. I'm mostly packed, and feel pretty ready. I will double check my list today, but am not feeling anxious. Dd(12) needs to pack though. Little monkey is a bit of a procrastinator (like her father).

Hi All!!

Wow, thank you all for the nice comments about the pictures. I agree those photos are really nice so you wouldn't think they turned out bad, but the ones of just the Mister, not so hot. It's hard though to photograph a 1 year old that won't sit still. Still, the attitude the photog had and the lack of professionalism was what bugged me the most. Now that I have the photos, I think I'll be writing some online reviews

We did go to a pumpkin patch yesterday and took some really sweet shots that kind of make up for it. My husband has a nice camera and I honestly think the quality on the ones we took were even better. And yes, TRIPOD is so much smarter and cheaper. Lesson learned there!

I hate how I am away from the board for less than a day and I feel SOOO behind. I feel like I have to catch up so much.

Dawn, WELCOME TO P3. HOw is the scale this morning? My feelings about P3 are that the first week is always the hardest, and stabilizing is always rough at first. The introduction of more calories and fat can throw things out of whack and the scale climbs but I feel like it goes back down after a few days. Try not to CD just yet if you don't have to. You can do this, you know how!!!

Julie, you leave tomorrow for Mexico right? I'm excited for you and I hope it's a wonderful trip. We'll miss you around here. Don't worry too much about food or scales, focus on what you're there for, the mission. You'll fix whatever you need to if you need to when you return!!!

As for steak, I LOOOVE steak. I have found my new favorite cut is NY Strip Steak. It's just really good. I love ribeye too but I usually do a rub on it and it's delish but my rub has sugar so I haven't had that in a LONG time. But the NY Strip I just season a bit with olive oil and grill and it's SOOO good. I also love a good Filet.

SO glad to see your mini steak day worked. I'm starting to think that Steak is the best CD and it doesn't have to be as strict as just 2 small steaks and a tomato. If you have a few other things like some veggies (broccoli for example) It still works out. At least in my case.

Day after CD try and stay clean and eat similarly to avoid bounce back! That's what works for me.

C'Marie, you're in the right direction and that's what is most important. Keep it up!!!

Bitsky, it's so mental. It really is. I think that's the biggest challenge we dieters have. Is the mind games and the mental approach to it all. So easy to slip into the wrong thinking! But keep on doing what you know is best, do the low carb high fat thing a few days and you'll be back down. Just commit to it!

Shelby, smart not to weigh if you have a feeling youre up. All it does is mess with your day! Hope you have a good weekend!

Lara, LMAO at "Toddler" I thought you meant literal until you said "of age" and then I was like OHHHH. Def give him a shot and see.Let us know how it goes!

YOu're so dedicated and it is going to equal long term success. I found in my first round that I lost another 2lbs in the last two days after the LI by staying on VLCD as you're supposed to. So in reality you have 5 more VLCDs which could equal at least another 1lb or so...

As for me, I'm up today. I guess the run in with Pumpkin Ice Cream caught up with me! I'm up about 1.2 over LIW but still in window. No major social outings so I should be ok this weekend. WE ARE going to a pumpkin festival on Sunday and we all know I'm a sucker for pumpkin so we'll see how tempted I am.

If my calculations are correct, today is Day one of P4 for me. I will continue on the low carb trip b/c it works and I want to continue to maintain. I may try judd in a few weeks though b/c I"d love to drop just a few more lbs.

Menu for today:

Pumpkin Coffee Shake - Frozen Pumpkin, Frozen Pumpkin Spice Coffee, HNH, ALmond Butter, Stevia, SF Pumpkin Spice Creamer. It was SOOOO good.

Not sure what lunch will be. I'm thinking a salad with chicken.

WooHoo!!! First day of P3 and I am UNDER LDW!!!! I am sooo super excited!!! I had some coconut water last night and the weight just dropped. I am down 0.8lbs. I believe I was missing my potassium. I ran out over the weekend and doing without was not good on the body. So some potassium in the coconut water worked! I have found my secret weapon for P3. I found this out a few P3s ago, and won't do without it now. Good thing I love it!!

So far I have had a side salad with blue cheese dressing (from Chick Fil A) and when I got home from work I made 2 eggs. A couple cups of coffee and that is it!! Trying to take it slow. Tomorrow DH has decided we are going to the State Fair. I am going to do my best to "be good". I am going to eat a good breakfast before going and knowing that his aunt is cooking us dinner, I am hoping to save money by not eating while there. We'll see how that goes!

Julie--the day after a CD, DO NOT eat cheese or nuts. I would also stay away from eggs if I were you Wouldn't want any bumps in the scale on your last day stateside. Have a fun, fabulous trip!! I agree with Reddy---remember the reason you are there. Whatever happens weightwise can be fixed when you get home. Enjoy!!!! Have fun!!!

Julie, the day after CD challenge, yes, I know it well! Just eat strict clean P3 no nuts no cheese, and you should be fine. I hate the 2-day bump up!

I'm having a high DD or a medium day today, hubby's home and I switch my rotation on this day almost every week so to be always on DD Mondays and Wednesdays. I also had a very bad bad headache yesterday so even on my UD I did not lose control at all, kept it pretty light, although I did have wine, cheese, and a few nutz in the evening.

Reddy, I saw your pics too and you are very very pretty and your little guy is adorable!

Lara, good luck on babysitting LOL. My DH is 10 years older than me. I could barely ever date anyone my own age, but of course I got married at 18 and obviously the "boys" at that age are still boys. Your fella might be great! So never mind me

SO WHEN AM I SCHEDULING THE CONDO? LOL

Julie--I cannot believe you have not heard me talk about coconut water yet. I post about it all the time. I love it!! When Biz talked about the sodium/potassium ratio when losing weight, a light clicked on and I thought "coconut water". It is better than gatorade when you lose a lot of water. I use it especially after eating out at restaurants for taking away the temporary gain or bump up in weight from the food and additives they use. It really works for me. I am very, very pleased that my Walmart has started carrying it. I can get it without going out of the way. I now never want to be without it.

I buy what they have at the store I am in at the time. I am not brand loyal in that regard. I have VitaCoco in the fridge right now. The label lists 11 grams of carbs--all of them sugar. They are natural sugar occurring in the coconuts ---there are NO ADDED sugars. I drink this and it makes me lose. Crazy, I know!!! Serving size is 8 oz. The label talks about it being hydrating, and that it is an electrolyte drink high in potassium. I also buy O.N.E. brand.

Well I weighed this morning and as normal for Fridays, I am up 1.3 from Wednesday. This always happens to me after yoga-Thursdays but I can't give up my zen-time! Sometimes it's the only thing keeping me sane! We had an awesome session last night, too. A LOT of focus on upper back and shoulders and working those thing DOWN. I felt soooo relaxed after--it's totally worth being sore today in unusual places!

I've going to a wedding this weekend so there will be the usual food and wine pitfalls to handle. I'm going to see if I can dodge some of the diet damage by really focusing on the hunger scale and evaluating whether a taste is good enough. On the positive side, I get there at 9pm tonight (so minimal dinner damage) and I leave at 6:30am Sunday (so no day-after "what-the-hell's") so I really just need to deal with the wedding itself as opposed to tons of temptation time. Just a nice evening with some friends who met in a tiny part because of me. Some wine, some dancing, a few happy tears for the new couple... AND a nice NSV--kinda. I tried on a whole bunch of dresses that I have leftover from my "going to awards ceremonies" days. They were almost all way too big. I ended up bringing a slightly big size 10 (can you say "vanity sizing" these days???) formal and (get this) the dress I wore to my 10 year high school reunion which fits like the proverbial glove. That was (ehem) almost 18 years ago and I kinda want to wear it just because I CAN! It may also motivate me and remind me that I have lost 70 pounds, that I do look better today than I did at 27, and that if I want to keep it up, I need to exercise some judgment in these situations!

Anyway, love to all and have a great weekend!

He doesnt even drink! How am I going to get my beer goggles on?? lol

Usually the food at weddings isnt that great. Hopefully there will be an open bar and you can have a mixed drink with diet? I always do that.


I was wel on my wayto a bacon day and I ate a small salad... now I feel guilty for eating a salad??
