Shelby-ill have to try that mousse. Right up my alley. Gotta buy more HWC. Trader joes has a good quality one you say? I get the one at WM in the big carton . Sometime soon we'll get together. How fun!

Confessions time for me too! I had "a few" mocha coated almonds. They were really, really good! And I was pretty hungry. I ended up losing track of how many I ate. I knew it was too many, but kept on going. drat! so much for getting below LDW before I leave Sat. I'll be eating lightly for dinner. Plugged it into ******, and my numbers still look ok. If I do a light dinner I may not be crushed on the scale tomorrow. It's also the 2nd day after softball, which seems to be a rough weigh day for some reason. Oh well, into every life, a little rain must fall. Can't undo it now!
First, chicken alfredo carbonara - um...YUM!
Second, yes TJ's brand Organic Heavy Whipping Cream. The one in the paper pint carton. It's MUCH thicker than any other cream I've found.
Third, DARN NUTS! Why are they so good???

Julie I wouldn't worry about those almonds. You'll probably be just fine with them!

That's too funny that your Daughter cried when she saw the characters. My son is obsessed with Mickey so I think he'll like that but I wonder because they say that around this age they start to get separation anxiety and sometimes are afraid of strangers and such so who knows.

We live 1.5 hour drive from WDW so I figure we need to just go already. Waiting for the weather to cool off (it's still 90 here) and also for the new Fantasyland to be opened. Also the Super Bowl thing is the best. We did it years ago with Universal and it was empty!

nuts! I'll be visiting TJ tomorrow. Heard something about good coffee there too. And some other things too. I can't recall, but do like their almonds. Not sure I should get any more though . Their yogurt is good too.

Reddy- we used to go the week after thanksgiving b/c it was all decorated for Christmas, but totally empty! such a wonderful place to go w/ your family. We went every weekend when we were in Tampa for 5 months back in 2005. Such a magical time!

Did I tell you guys about my call from Atkins yesterday? They're recruiting me for possible magazine coverage. Looking for people who have lost half their body weight, I'm 6 lbs away, and not planning to try to lose any more in the next 2 months. She said they'll keep my info on file and get back in tough. She though it might be close enough to make the article. we'll see. they paid me $300 last year to post my story on the website. Works for me

I would love to go around Christmas b/c I agree Disney is sooo magical at Christmas. I assumed it would be packed in Dec but maybe I'll look into the week after TG like you suggested!!!

That is so cool that they want to put you (and your story) into a magazine! They couldn't have considered a better person! Hope you get it!

Reddy-dd(9)'s first trip it WDW was when she was 1.5. She was terrified of the characters, but truthfully it was amazing and the pics of her crying w/ Mickey et. al a priceless . We're huge Disney fans!! Can't wait for our DL trip in Nov.

Cocoa-soon my friend! Butter, cream and more meat await! Yes, I'd love to get together in Ca. W you too!

Recipe please!!! Mouth watering!!!

I excersized yesterday for 30 minutes on the elyptical machine and I'm up 3.
WTH? How much do you gain with excersize? This is lame.
I did eat a lot of cheese tho... lol I attacked a wedge of brie I must confess.

I had a 3 egg omlete with cream cheddar salsa
greek yogurt 16 oz i think
mozzarella 2 chicken wings (no carbs) blue cheese
some salmon grilled tartar sauce
a few almonds two sf choc almonds
2 diet squirts
spring mix salad blue cheese
and some pork roast lol
brie

what should I do to loose inches? Do you think that excersizing will make me loose inches or just cause me to gain? I'm talking one hour a day for 30 days...

Thanks girls!! It certainly was a pleasant surprise to talk to them. No call back, which is fine. They've asked for (and received) my permission to share my weight loss experience w. thier marketing department for future coverage. I'm happy to share my experience w. Atkins. I wish I had heard about (and tried) it many years ago. Would have transformed my life.

Lara-I'm the wrong one to ask. I always gain when I exercise, w. the exception of walking. I am good for 3-5lbs, regardless of which other type I do. Even w. Monday night softball I see a 2nd day gain of usually a lb from water retention. Inches? I actually get bigger when I'm lifting weights. My jeans get tighter in the thighs ( like I need that!!) but it's tighter, more solid me, which I prefer. I'll get back to it eventually. I look better muscular, but I like my skinny jeans fitting and the scale cooperating. Once I'm home from my Ca. trip the end of Nov (and correct any damage done) I will revisit more intense exercise. But, sorry to say, I am not in the "exercise makes me lose or get smaller" camp.

Reddy-STS rocks!! WTG!!

Shelby-thanks! I'll be visiting my TJs today or tomorrow. I am up a bit today so I'll be back to clean P3 (no more almonds or froyo for me!!).

Rats!! Too much of everything yesterday. Hello top of the window!! I was kinda tired of being "good" and really pushed it yesterday. I had some froyo after dd's vball practice and dh couldn't finish his (he took a boatload!! and I hate to waste ). I am also on day 2 after softball, which is usually good for a bit of a bump. Still disappointed in me. I like hanging out around LDW. It would be ideal if I could mentally accept clean P3 as a happy place to live. I have eaten most of the mocha almonds that tempt me so, and will not have anymore froyo. The rest should fall into place on it's own.

I'm eating clean LC high fat today. I'm bummed, but it's all part of P3 and figuring things out. I think (hope and pray) TOM is coming early. I would MUCH rather have it this week than next (in Mexico). I'm also gonna' skip the BP coffee. Although it's tasty, I haven't really felt more energy or less hunger from it. It's kinda' a pain to make, so I'm back to my "normal" HWC in my coffee today. I'll avoid any potential downfalls and will be just fine I'm sure.

Any of you guys throw a FF day or 2 into your P3s? I'm loving fat, but afraid what happens after FF is over? Where's Cocoa w. an update on her FF?

I forgot- crockpot Alfredo chicken:
Here's what I did, but I'll put in () what I'll do differently next time:
Throw the following into your crockpot:
frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts (I think I had 4-5 large ones)
bottle of Ragu alfredo sauce
5 red bell peppers sliced kinda' thicker than for salads/fajitas
garlic
onion powder
salt and pepper on chicken
Cover and cook on high 2 hours (b/c they were frozen, just low if they're fresh) then low for the rest of the time (about 5 more?)
Shred and serve w. fresh grated (or canned) parm.
I added bacon to my leftovers
(next time I'll just cook the chicken in a bit of broth and seasoning, then take out, shred, dump broth, return to crock. Then add bacon and pour alfredo over shredded chicken and roasted peppers)
I made it on the stove w. diced chicken sauteed in butter/evoo, garlic then added bacon and alfredo for a faster skillet meal. (make GF pasta for the fam).

Yum!
and I doctored up the "sauce" from the bottom of the crockpot.

Julie- don't stress it too much! You're still in your window!

It probably wasn't the frozen yogurt so much as the softball and TOM coming.

I'm sure after clean day you'll be back down tomorrow don't sweat it!

Mexico? Works for me!! What are you all doing on Saturday? Want to meet me here in AZ for a 9 hour drive to Ensenda? It's not a very expensive trip ($300 including almost all your meals) and you'll be near the beach . Or, we could go another time and try that diving business. I hear that's lovely! I'm a beach comber and love to walk and walk on the sand.

Heading out for mommy-daughter day w. dd(9) while dd(12) is off w. some friends. A little bonding before I have to leave her for a week . Plus, my toes and eyebrows are out of control!

Here

I've done a 2-3 day FF many times in P3 to correct and always drop a few pounds that stay off as long as I don't go crazy afterwards! My FF transition to P3 got me down to 157.2 (!!) but my first days of P3 were with my parents and I had a lot going on so my days were filled with a lot of wine, nuts, and cheese Soooo unfortunately, I didn't STAY in the 150's for very long. I was up to 164 on Monday and Tuesday but am down -2 to 162 today (after a nut day that I kind of accidentally made up). I can tell I'm a little mentally exhausted, so I'm currently just eating relatively cleanly, not letting myself feel terribly deprived, and letting the chips fall where they may.

Mexico? ah, um, I have a condo there! LOL
(One in Cabo and one in Cancun)

@Julie, you really are a poster-woman (superwoman) for Atkins!

@Lara, so how much bacon is in a bacon-CD? 12 oz? One pound? regular, or what kind? Inquiring minds and all that

All right! We are ALL going to Mexico! C'Marie, you are now my very bestest friend... Diving, beach combing, laying on the sand, getting our vitamin D on... Ceviche and margaritas and beer--oh my!

I think Lara has mentioned in the past that she has made the whole pound on her bacon day??? I know I can certainly eat a whole pound of bacon with absolutely NO problems!

Julie - keep us posted on them using your story. I read it last year when they put it on the Atkins site (?) but it would be so cool if they used it again somewhere else. The more these low-carb success stories get published, the better off everyone will be. This whole ADA/AMA bs has just GOT to be stopped!

Lara and Julie - I also gain from exercise but usually only the day afterwards. My body dumps the water weight pretty quickly two days later. I haven't tried to incorporate weights again. <sigh> I just don't like exercise very much! I know I need to start with the weights again because recently one of my dates told me that I had a "white girl butt." Um, thanks? But actually for someone who has ALWAYS had plenty of junk in the trunk, I think I'll take that as a compliment? It could use some toning though... Gah.

Dawn - yay! Spot officially marked!

Hiya to everyone I missed!

~~~~~~~~~~~
Well my steak day yesterday was a whopper with 2 bp coffees and another with cream for around 600-700 calories? About a pound of marinated flank steak (omg yum!), some cherry tomatoes, and an entire can of coconut milk with sweetenr and cocoa--can't stay out of the sweets! Again pushing the calorie ceiling here with guessing around 3000 calories and lots o fat. Despite no Bernice this morning, I was still down almost a pound today to land just 1 over my window. High fat, low carb today and hoping for another drop tomorrow. But cruising along under 145 and feeling fine!
Shelby--I am so glad I am not the only one who can down a whole pound of steak in a sitting I can really pack on the steak in a steak day. I also ate a whole package of bacon in a sitting one time and everyone was shocked I was barely a teen at the time so I guess the shock was because of that, but it was awesome. I also ate other things throughout the day. I did it because no one else liked it but I did! But I didn't repeat that one again Cannot wait to have bacon once again!! Just a few more days.
Back to basics
Hello everyone, I'm glad a new thread has been started and to see all the same faces. I look forward to the reading.
I'm Canadian so we just had our Thanksgiving, I'm on LCF today because I have fallen into a small hole and I want to get out before the hole is too big. I'm almost at the point where I've gained a few too many lbs and I want to say the heck with it and just eat whatever I want again. I struggle with the urge to just give up at a certain point because I feel it's too far gone already. I don't want to do that this time and hopefully I'm within range to get back to my LDW. I'm up 6.3lbs. I'm sad with myself I let this happen but it's just strange how I'll let myself forget all the important rules. In the past I've stated on here that it's OK to have a treat once in a while and stay stable, that way you don't go crazy cutting it out completely. Well that is very true but I found I let myself get really comfortable having treats very often because I was telling myself "this little bit is OK" or "I'll work out extra tomorrow." It got out of hand and now I'm up way higher than I said I would let myself get to. So now I need to do some repair work and re-train myself. I'm going to go back to my lists of food to eat when starting P3 and stick to the basics for a few days. It's hard to believe that when I started P3 I was actually scared to eat and I feared putting too food much in, I remember being soooo amazed at how my body was now working with what I was eating. I miss that magical feeling!!!
I'm going to make the mousse stuff for sure and if someone could refresh my memory of what a BP coffee consists of I would appreciate it. I'm looking for fast, easy, simple ingredient type things to have during my day if anyone has any ideas.
I think this happens to most dieters. You get comfortable you feel good and you start to allow yourself a FEW indulgences. One thing leads to another and the next thing you know you're doing it all the time and the lbs start creeping back on.
BUT you're only 6lbs over your LDW which means 4lbs over your window. Perhaps you could try a CD or a HIGH FAT SUPER LOW CARB type day and you may find yourself down a few lbs. Plus I'm sure that TG dinner did you in and you're carrying water weight which will come off.
You've got this!
So you guys remember that back when I was in P2 I hired a photographer to take my sons 1 year pics?
Well we got the photos and I have to say I'm really kind of disappointed. Usually if I have disappointment in photos it's b/c I hate how I look in them, this time I actually think the photos of the 3 of us turned out nice and I"m quite happy with how I look BUT the photos of my Son, which are the most important here don't do him any justice and to be honest, they don't look professional. They are like photos I could take myself.
It's a long story but the photographer was extremely unprofessional in how she handled the shoot, (came really late etc) the fact that she gave us no direction and didn't try and set up the shots and basically rushed us. Also w were going to take pics in the house but she forgot her flash which is just not cool.
So... I'm definitely sad b/c we paid good money. When I explained how I felt she basically told me Tough Crap and tried to put the onus on us that we chose an ugly park, that my son wasn't cooperating etc. She was awful about it and tried to make every excuse under the sun!
But... like I said, there are a few pics of the three of us that turned out nice so I thought I'd share.
These were taken about 1 week into R2P2 so I am actually thinner now (wish I would have waited til I was done with the round) but I still think I look good here so I'm not complaining!
Here are my favorites of us:
back Bitsky! That's not much after Thanksgiving. Good for you nipping it in the bud before it's a full blown disaster. I'm sure w. some clean LC eating you'll be right back down.
Reddy-you're so right. I gotta' stay vigilant the rest of my life to keep this weight away! All my fat cells want to plump back up to their old selves.
Well, that FF really worked well for you!! Glad you enjoyed your visit w. your folks and are taking it all in stride. You're doing fine (esp. w/ last night!! ). Thanks for the update
@Lara, so how much bacon is in a bacon-CD? 12 oz? One pound? regular, or what kind? Inquiring minds and all that
Condo you say? Why aren't you "working from condo"? I would be!! Thanks!! They called again today to see if dd had lost almost half her body weight as they are looking for mother daughter success stories! Nope! She's down 3-5lbs depending on when you talk to her!! .
I think Lara has mentioned in the past that she has made the whole pound on her bacon day??? I know I can certainly eat a whole pound of bacon with absolutely NO problems!
Julie - keep us posted on them using your story. I read it last year when they put it on the Atkins site (?) but it would be so cool if they used it again somewhere else. The more these low-carb success stories get published, the better off everyone will be. This whole ADA/AMA bs has just GOT to be stopped!
Lara and Julie - I also gain from exercise but usually only the day afterwards. My body dumps the water weight pretty quickly two days later. I haven't tried to incorporate weights again. <sigh> I just don't like exercise very much! I know I need to start with the weights again because recently one of my dates told me that I had a "white girl butt." Um, thanks? But actually for someone who has ALWAYS had plenty of junk in the trunk, I think I'll take that as a compliment? It could use some toning though... Gah.
Dawn - yay! Spot officially marked!
Hiya to everyone I missed!
~~~~~~~~~~~

Well my steak day yesterday was a whopper with 2 bp coffees and another with cream for around 600-700 calories? About a pound of marinated flank steak (omg yum!), some cherry tomatoes, and an entire can of coconut milk with sweetenr and cocoa--can't stay out of the sweets! Again pushing the calorie ceiling here with guessing around 3000 calories and lots o fat. Despite no Bernice this morning, I was still down almost a pound today to land just 1 over my window. High fat, low carb today and hoping for another drop tomorrow. But cruising along under 145 and feeling fine!
Wow!! High cals and you're down a lb? Woohoo!! I may do a high fat (VLC) day tomorrow if I'm not down a bit tomorrow. I've had an apple and 2 servings of GY today, so my carbs look high on paper. Had a hot dog for lunch too. We'll see. Hope I'm down by Sat. I'd like to "cruise along" under 145 the rest of my days! And I'm in for Mexico!!

Atkins called again today, but I still don't think they'll go with me. She wanted ot know if any family members, particularly mother/daughter relationships were big losers too. Dd is a LCer (more or less) but hasn't lost much w. it. She asked if she could keep calling me as she was trying to get me into the magazine. Works for me! Told her I was leaving the country on Sat.

Have a great evening all!

So you're in P3 now... I didn't realize that. What was your actual LDW? Either way you're doing great and if you were able to drink too... yeah, you're doing well!

Me too. I can fully eat over a lb of meat myself. I could eat 2. I eat like a 300lb man. It's insane what I can pack away!

You're almost to P3...woo hoo!

The fact that they called again means they are planning to do something at some point. I think that's so cool and I hope you do get it at some point!!!

Ok major confession time here. So there is this local ice cream place here, they make it all themselves and it's amazing. Every year they have this Pumkin Ice Cream that is SOOOO good. It has like Oreo, Candied Pecans, Caramel and I'm not sure what else in it.

DH keeps asking when I can have it and I said really never but maybe when I enter P4 (tomorrow) I could do a small bit. Maybe!?!?

So I was about to cook dinner and he proposes "dessert first" and says he wants to go. I didn't even put up a fight. I'm so weak I simply said OK and off we went.

I feel so guilty. But OMG it was AMAZING! I'm sure I'll pay for it...

ETA: Notice all my cheats have been Pumpkin or Alcohol. My weaknesses.
