WooHoo Julie Fabulous. I hear that on the thyroid board that some cannot do low low carbs and be well. So maybe you do need a bit more than 20 grams of carbs. I am struggling with my thyroid and am at a crossroads. Do not know what to do. Just had my doctor appointment today and was afraid to ask for more testing. She seems to be so reluctant to supplements and I didn't think she would do the test that I want. Luckily we have a lab here in town that will I will just go there. I am on Armour, but still don't feel well enough to call me healed. I need something and don't know what that something is. I want to know though Anyhoo, just letting you know I don't know anything at all about thyroid despite having hyopthyroidism.
Was not happy at all about yesterday's weigh in. I was on my upper limit of the window again I am either at my upper limit or just a hair under and I cannot stand it anymore. So I ate, and ate things I should not have even though I am on P4. I have not even been able to eat goodies in P3, what am I to do in P4??!! I eat eggs topped with a bit of sour cream and bacon with coffee for breakfast. Lunch is some Greek yogurt with either berries or pecans and coconut shreds. Dinner is salad, every single night--boy I love salad--with cheese, blue cheese dressing and some protein with it. Either chicken or steak, or hard boiled eggs. Not too much unlike P2 just with added fats. I also have a half a fat bomb for a sweet like treat. I have wanted to keep in the fruit because I love apples and grapefruit but have not been able to find grapefruit for a long time. Seems like we have had a shortage of grapefruit because every single store I went to had none. Then the apples---just don't know if I can finish a whole one by myself anymore. See, nothing spectacular. Just normal foods. I think I have had one or 2 cream cheese muffins the whole 3+ weeks I have been on P3. UGH!! Just hope my protein shake day works tomorrow and I see a good number on the scale tomorrow morning. I weigh in early though, but with the time change don't know how that will work. Hopefully in my favor. Only 2 days of work at my job this week. Then I am done. I am going to eat my choice of lunch since they will be my last 2 free meals at Chick Fil A. I will be most likely doing a CD on Thurs--my first non-working SAHM day for this year. I don't mind that one at all because it will be worth it

Dawn-that's how I felt! If I was going to gain b/c of a lousy salad I might as well have a few pieces of dd's candy! If I'm going to CD I may as well have a taste of chocolate first. but, I'm now allowing a LDW+3 window and am thre today, so, I'm not CDing after all. But, I bought chicken legs/thighs for tomorrow, just in case! My thyroid has never been professionally treated. Got synthroid once, made me feel worse. Stopped taking it. Now I'm treating myself, and feel tons better!
Shelby-thanks! And bummer you're not feeling well! hope you can figure out what's going on. Temps def shows something's up. Maybe the super high fat VLCarb is part of it? I feel better on more carbs.

In the spirit of science, I continued my higher carb experiment today . I feel like I'm cheating even though I've been in P4 for over 2 weeks. I'll see what tomorrow brings. I think I overdid it a bit, a tad past satisfied. Not stuffed or uncomfortable, but could have eaten less and still felt fine.
Anyone know much about pterostilbene or resveratrol ? I ordered some and am hopoing it'll help w/ curbing my appetite while I'm on vacation. We'll see. It's so nice that I am a willing guinea pig in my own experiments!
