swordfish on P2?

I just noticed it's not on any P2 food list that I can find. Is there some reason it's left off?

i'm not sure what it is considered but 'white fish' is the allowed fish. the other fish has a higher fat content so i *think* is the reason it is not allowed (like tuna)

Oye- I haven't eaten swordfish in years.

Sometime back in the 80's, when I was first diagnosed with Hashimoto's, I was discussing my diet (woe- not really 'diet') with my doctor. I mentioned that I eat a lot of fish and seafood and that I had a penchant for halibut, Chilean sea bass, and swordfish. She looked disgusted at the mention of swordfish- so, I pressed her for a reason.

She told me to conduct a little experiment with the fish I was eating. I was to cut a small portion of each, place it on a plate, douse it with vinegar, and then let it sit on the counter-top overnight. She said my findings would help me to understand.

OMG. When I saw the swordfish the next day..I almost threw up!! The entire top of the fish was covered in dead worms. It was the grossest thing.. I haven't touched it since then. The halibut and sea bass were clear.

Now, I'm a sushi eater- so, I know that some (most) fish do have parasites that live close to the skin; hence, a trained sushi chef will remove this offense. Apparently, swordfish parasites invade the entire meat. Blech!!
