I, personally, try to only have fruit early in the day, and I usually only have one fruit per day. I will often have 1 scoop of sugar-free protein powder blended with iced coffee and some sugar-free flavored syrup or cocoa powder in the afternoon to replace calories from the second piece of fruit. I find that I lose better with more protein, less fruit. If you don't want to do the protein powder (I use egg white protein powder from J. Robb), you could just have a small portion of chicken breast or another protein for a snack. Hope this helps! |

Oranges stall me... Taco beef did too...
I would do an apple day and see if that gets things moving.... but plateaus can last a long time. Sorry youre having a hard time... did you say youre taking 15 units do you mean 150 iu's? |

How long have you been "stuck"? Dr Simeons calls a plateau 5 days without movement. If you have been at the same weight for 5 days, then you can do the apple day. I just did one and lost weight. Did really well on it! The only suggestion for a plateau is an apple day--AND you HAVE to be stalled out for at least 5 days. I wish you luck! |

After trying the apple day, you should look to your food. I never do the orange. It is just too much sugar for me. I do beef, because it works for me! And I like it. Once you find out what is stalling you, you will move. I know of someone who couldn't eat apples and chicken and lose. She had to cut those 2 out of her P2s to lose. So you might have to sleuth a bit. But more than likely it is something you are eating every day. Or at least when the stall hit. Hope you have kept a food journal.

I don't think anyone said that you should add extra protein. I THINK Dawn was saying that she does beef for her protein because it works, whereas some people can only do chicken. I personally do not do fruit every day. Too much sugar for me.

And I was saying that beef doesn't stall me. But that it may stall someone else. You have to investigate what you cannot have on P2. |

What are you trying to replace? I am not sure that someone suggested doing so. You replace your orange with another fruit....one that doesn't stall you.

Lemonmama's suggestion of increasing protein and dropping fruit is NOT protocol. It's fine if you choose to do it--it's just not protocol. IF you choose to go down that path, increase protein enough to make calories up to 500. That will be different with whatever protein you choose. So extra beef has more calories than extra fish so you might have 4oz of beef but 5 oz of fish, instead of your regular portion.
IF YOU WANT TO STAY PROTOCOL... FIRST, I would swap out the orange for a different fruit. It is the highest glycemic of all the allowed fruits. I usually do one apple and one portion of strawberries, personally. SECOND, if that doesn't change anything for you, I would swap out the taco seasoning in the beef, especially if it's commercial. A LOT of seasonings and spices have sugar and can cause you to stall. Check all your spices and seasonings as well as any condiments or broths you are using for added sugars or starches. Only if you don't find anything would I swap out the beef for a different protein. FINALLY, whenever you have leftover calories, the recommendation is to make them up with veggies. You can eat a LOT of veggies for your portion. Generally speaking, I eat the following and it comes out to almost always 500 calories (I don't eat the melba): 200g protein (7oz) 300g veggies (10.5oz) 400g fruit (14oz) Lastly, make sure that if you are on homeopathic that you have kept your hcg away from electronics, have not touched the dropper to your mouth or the pellets to your hands, are not using mint, camphor, or tea tree oil, and are not drinking or eating within 15-20 mins of taking your drops. If you are using rx, test your hcg with a cheap pregnancy test to make sure it is still good. In any case, make sure your makeups and lotions are oil free. HTH. GOOD LUCK!

I have done that. Sometimes when I make P2 chili, I will make it with an onion and a tomato. When I do that, which is not often, I will count the tomato as a fruit.

I'm in the skip the orange boat. I do apples and strawberries.
How close to "goal" are you? How long is your stall? How long will be your round? If you're really close to goal, a stall it to be expected. I have recently added half-n-half to my morning coffee to "prime the pump" of losing fat. This is NOT protocol, but since I'm close to "goal" it seems my body needed the added fat to get losing. It was really stalled before I added that. And this it TMI, but how's the potty situation? Constipation will also cause a stall. While you wait for the scale to catch up, notice the inches that you're losing. Your clothes will tell you you're losing even if the scale is being difficult.

Delaney-how's it going? Are you still stuck? Priming the pump refers to adding some "clean" fats to P2 if you're close to goal and not losing well. The theory is that if you don't have a lot of abnormal fat stores, the added dietary fat helps your body start burning it. Theoretically
. For me? It did help to add half-n-half to my coffee - both psychologically to tide me over, and physically to help me lose and satisfy my hunger. It was a win-win for me You are very close to goal, and have lost 12lbs in 16 days. That's actually pretty good. Stalls are very common, but hopefully you'll be able to drop a few more lbs!! I've only been able to lose 13lbs this round. But, as I'm at goal, I'm ok w. it!! More would have been nice of course . |
