Ravr - Water flushes the fat out that is being released from your body. Drink, drink, drink. I have at least 64-80 oz a day and I am 167. I inject in my stomach about 4 inches away from belly button. I felt hungry at first because my Dr was dbl dosing me. When I halfed it, the hunger subsided.

Temeka - Shake it off gf! No worries. Happens to me every month. Hang in there and keep postin'!

DB - WTG!!

I attached a pic of my lunch...Shrimp Diablo. Spicy and yummy!

WOE: one day at a time!! LC!
Start Date: July 14, 2003 - every day!!
Ravr-just like I thought! Down about 6lbs!! WTG!! I'd watch the hunger, give it a few days and if it doesn't pass discuss w/ your Dr again. I tend to go to bed earlier on hcg and drink a LOT of water (100oz a day usually). Helps keep me full too.

Sas-that looks delicious!! I like the idea of spicy shrimp! I usually do lemon garlic shrimp, but may need to mix that up!

HC-Thanks for the encouragement. No meds today (yet). I'm a mess though-sniffly, sneezing, snotty . Gotta' clean today too . Feeling crummy while on hcg isn't fair. But, I'll live. This too shall pass. I drink a LOT of water, w. a bit of crystal light in it. About 100oz or so a day. I added hot tea a few days ago. I think my kidneys must be exhausted!! Gotta' add some more lemon though, good suggestion. I wish I lived closer. Your menus always sound good!

Off to steam mop the floor. The sweeping (worst part) is done. Can't procrastinate any more.

Sas! That shrimp looks scrumptious!

I meant to comment on the Dinner Dude! So jealous you have him.. and so glad he 'sort' of includes the recipes on his site- and includes the nutrition data.. I am SO stealing his ideas..hahaha! Disclaimer: personal use only, of course..

Feeling a bit nervous, I'm not losing anything ... I lost 4 pounds the morning, nothing yesterday and nothing today. So I've just lost the load n water weight.
I hope my meds don't make losing impossible, I've been fighting this for a year and a half with different meds.
Great.

Hi all! Sorry, I've been MIA the past few days & only popping in now. Busy, busy. I did not do well on my trip. I ate off plan two nights in a row! Luckily, I ate small portions, and avoided sugar, so it wasn't catastrophic. I didn't bring my scale with me, but when I hopped on this morning, I am down 1# from where I was on Monday when I left. Not bad! I didn't drink my water like I was supposed to, either, so I'm catching up on that today. I also haven't ... ahem... "gone" to the bathroom since Monday (that barium business messed me up, I think). Drank some smooth move, so hopefully that'll sort itself out.

Congrats to all the losers, hugs and hang in there to everyone stalling/struggling. I'll try and pop in later if I can; if not tomorrow, 'cause I have 5 days off due to my crazy week!!

Shelby - That IS an easy way to remember 200, 300, 400! I love dinner dude. It's a little pricy, but it comes out to about $8-9 meal if you do the program. I just figure as much as I drink and eat off HCG, I am actually saving money.

Mandy - Do you like grapefruit? You can have 1/2 of one. I have been doing apples but will buy some grapefruit this weekend. Wonder if they last longer than strawberries.

Buttah - Bless you...you narrowed it down for me so I will call my Whole Foods today. There is one right on the way home.

Karen - Red grapefruit it is! Thanks for the tip!

TIPS FOR P2 OF DR. SIMEONS PROTOCOL
WTG on the 4lbs!!! AWESOME!

How is the rest of our crew? Natalie, Temeka, HChick, Berta, Dbunny??

Does anyone have any events this weekend?? I am supposed to go to our county fair tomorrow night to see Josh Abbott band. He is my fav Texas country singer. My son has been feeling low lately and he was going to watch DD, so either I will get a sitter for her and he will come with us or I'll stay home. He is 19 and having some anxiety. He starts Marine boot camp on Jan 14th so I would like to nip this in the butt before he leaves. I also have a 1yr old bday party to attend on Sat. I feel I will do fine, but afraid BF will be able to tell I am on the plan again.
Girl! You need to tell your BF to mind his own beeswax!

How old is your daughter? I will come babysit

Sas- at keeping if from BF. He'll figure it out. Weekend socializing is the harded part of hcg for me . Hope you do well and have a good one!!

Manders-like HC said, it's pretty easy. I never did it before this past year . I use the carcass of a rotisserie chicken. This time I didn't put onions or celery in (but I usually do) as I was in a rush. Just threw the carcass, skin and all, into the crock, covered w. water and added onion pwdr, garlic, and some other seasonings to the crock. Strained it, and put it in the fridge to cool. I'll skim the fat off today now that it's cool. It's kind like jello when it's cold, but it liquifies once warmed. Don't be afraid of it!! So much tastier and BETTER for you!! I just took 12 hour sudafed (the real stuff you have to get from the pharmacist here in the states, not the stuff on the shelves now-it doens't really work). It's helped a bit, I can breathe. But I'm still sneezing and sniffly. My throat is less sore, which is something . Hope you're feeling better!

Ravr-I'll bet you're down at least 6 lbs overnight!! You'll do great!!

I'm in the same range today. Been 144.4ish for 5 days now (got down to 143.8 on Tues. morning, but that's not sticking). Bummer . I'm only on the "juice" for 3 more days (if I do the short round) and am disappointed the scale isn't down further. I'm hoping it's from the cold. But, what can you do? I don't think I want to do an apple day this close to the end? I'd likely bump back up and have a hard time maintaining. Thoughts?

I'm leaning toward riding it out and see what the scale says Sunday. I could go a little longer, but I really don't want to. I leave for Mexico Oct. 13 and would like to have as much P3 and stability in me before I go. NOt sure how the food will work while I'm there. Hoping I get to help shop and cook so I know I'll have P3 options. Really thought I'd be down today .
Yeah, the straight sudafed is the only thing that sometimes helps!

Homemade chicken stock- which is richer and more nutrient dense than 'broth'- is soo easy to make!

You can do it on the stove top or in a crock pot. It's the bones that make a 'stock'. So, if you're just making that- you can use the bones left over from cutting the breast meat off, there will be little bits of meat on them and that's fine.. If you're want chicken meat for soup- then use the whole breast, bones in, skin removed. (That being said, I usually use a whole cut up chicken, skin off, and then defat the stock- more on that later!) I mix the dark meat into my cats food- they LOVE it.

You'll need:

Chicken pieces (up to you- just bones, whole breasts, or whole chicken)
1-2 onions- cut in quarters.
2-4 stalks of celery, cleaned and cut in half
1 Carrot
2-3 garlic cloves (optional)
sea salt to taste and peppercorns
1 bay leaf (if you like it)
Fresh parsley (also optional)
Turmeric is a great addition, too.. nutrients and color!

Put the chicken in a stock pot and cover with cold water by a couple of inches. Bring to a gentle boil. Skim off the foam that forms- usually within 5 mins.

Add the rest of the stuff, lower heat to simmer, and cook until the meat is very soft, 1-2 hours. (In the crock pot- cook on low for 6-8 hours, or longer- it won't hurt it!)

Remove the bones/meat, de-bone, and set aside. Separate the white/dark meat if you used all parts.

Strain the stock and discard the solids.

There ya go- homemade chicken stock!!

To remove the fat- put the stock in the fridge and let the fat congeal at the top. You'll be able to scrape it right off. The stock will be gelatinous when cold- and melt right down when heated- so good for your hair and nails!!

To make P2 chix soup- 'saute' your veggies in a little broth, add 3 oz of the chicken you set aside, and ladle in the broth. Yum!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are the BEST! That's such an easy recipe for me. I can't wait to try it!

It's funny how that works hey? 20 pounds ago, we'd give ANYTHING to be where we are now. But now, we'd give anything to be 10 more from here! lol

Today was my first day not weighing myself in the morning. I think I'm making the right decision. I can't believe how much I was sabotaging myself with my complacency. Also, this is my third day without diet soda. Yay me!

2 victories in one day. Way to go I probably have to adopt that attitude too. No weighing. But after 3 years of protocol, I am addicted. Can help but weigh in every morning.

Thanks girl! What I realized I was doing was losing 2 pounds, saying "Meh, I can have a bit extra today" and then gaining. 2 steps forward, 2 steps backward. I have literally been gaining and losing the same 10 pounds for THREE MONTHS. Do you know where I would be if I just started losing and not gaining? It's silly. I would probably be at 150!!!! Now that I don't know what my weight is, there's NO WIGGLE ROOM! No cheating, no extras. I had to give myself a kick in the butt and get focused.

I read a study last night that had two groups of people who had lost weight. The first group was given casual praise for losing weight, and then given the option between a dessert or a healthy snack. The second group was not praised and given the choice of a dessert or a healthy snack. Over 80% of the first group chose the dessert while only 50% of the second group chose the dessert.

I needed to realize that yes, I've lost about 55 pounds. That's great. You know what's not great? The other 37 pounds of fat I still have on my body.

NO MORE.

Three months? I've been dropping the same 20 for almost a year! It's easy, but in P3, I turn into a headcase and hate my way right back up the scale. Gah! Drives me crazy.. I can tell when I start to get off track.. the first thing is I stop coming here every day for accountability!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry to be MIA. I'm back from MIA and there have been soo many posts that It would be really hard to respond individually.

I just wanted to congratulate those losing well and to those struggling sending hugs.

I will try and read these more closely tonight and respond individually but if I don't , it's b/c I"m so tired and haven't slept in a few days.

ETA, Julie I hope you feel better soon! I'm sure the cold isn't helping the scale move. Hang in there! Almost to P3!!! (Yogurt time!!)

@ manders I hear you... I still have a tough time giving up my zero carb rockstar or diet coke..but i have been drinking perrier, plain water and unsweetened tea all week. Do you think diet sodas have been holding you back? or do you mean food cheats?

No, but they do make me bloat and I drink A LOT! Like, 6-8 cans a day. It's RIDICULOUS. Think about how much water I'm not drinking due to that. I have to admit, I feel great the last 2 days.

I went way off plan many times in the past 3 months. Namely the last trip I took to see my lovely boyfriend in Michigan. He took me to a bakery in Mexicantown right outside of Detroit and we loaded up on awful things I won't even mention. I also tend to drink when I'm with him. Not BECAUSE of him, although that's even debatable sometimes, AM I RIGHT LADIES?! I'm just like hey it's vacation and we're together so let's have celebratory drinks! Which turns into celebratory taco runs at midnight, and on and on and on. It's also difficult to eat on plan when staying in hotels, although it is possible if I had enough will power (which I don't because I'm lazy).

Him and I have the opposite problems. I eat everything and gain a ton of weight. He eats everything and can't gain any weight. God help our future children.

yes! I can't wait!! I Voskos GY! Glad your grandma is doing better and you're safely back home. Thanks for the well wishes!

Mandy-you're not alone in your hindsight there. I am planning to make this my last round and psyching myself up for working at maintenance for life. I want to stay on top of it! I'm thinking of avoiding the scale myself. If I'm still stalled tomorrow I'll wait until Sunday. Hope I'm down soon!

Dawn-down is better than up or STS. id take it .

dbunny-yep, more posting is good for accountability. keep it up!

I'm hungry today that combined with a stall for the past week and my cold makes me really want to cheat!! I am being good, but can't wait for some food. I'd really like to lose 2.4 more lbs. I'm pretty sure I'm already down part of it, if this stall would break. Sigh.

Shelby, your "skillet" recipes (really helpful, btw, so thanks!) say if you're not eating melba/grissini, to double your DINNER protein amount? Is that what you meant to say? I was surprised, since the melba/grissini serving equal about 40 calories and 100g of protein could be a lot more. Not that calories are equal, but I was still surprised where you might have gotten that. It sure sounds good to me.

Everyone - I've had a crazy day. I hope to address everyone tomorrow!!! Meanwhile, have a great night and morning.

what what? I don't think she said that. protocol is pretty strict about protein servings. I don't eat my grissini and I don't add anything else in to make up for it.

It's possible that you have a headache from detoxing. Some people get them when they start a round and others (like me) get them when they go off plan. I had one for 5 days last week but it turned out I probably had an e.coli infection.

Go to sleep, should be gone by tomorrow!!

I had a serious headache for the first 3-4 days during my first round...oye! It was definitely a detox reaction for me- most likely from sugar withdrawal. This too shall pass! None this time-

Keep your eye on the big picture... and remember that our bodies are going through radical changes- especially during the start of protocol.

You are permitted to take pain meds, so no need to suffer!! An old fashioned ice pack on the head helps, too. =) Hang in there!!

You're so right, Manders! I found myself wanting to eat extra yesterday because my sneaky little devil kept patting me on the back for having a good week despite my cheat last w/e. I didn't go off plan, food wise, but definitely ate larger protein portions than I should have. Result: STS. Booo!!

Interesting study about praise. I can relate to that. I find myself responding to people who pay me compliments with kind of a negative reaction- like: "Thanks, but no- I'm not getting skinny, far from it- I have a long way to go" or "Meh, I'm getting there". I do it because I don't want to become complacent, but- at the same time, I hate reacting that way because I think I'm being rude. My school of thought is that when someone compliments you, say "Thank You"; to do otherwise is kind of rude- it's akin to invalidating someone's thought or opinion. Then again, feedback is good too.. Maybe I just need to keep that dialogue in my head while my mouth says thanks...lol.

Yes, we've done well so far- but, we do have a way to go!! Let's do it!!

NO MORE.

Speaking of responding to praise, I was having a good talk with DH yesterday and realized that I actually feel mad when someone freaks out over me saying how good I look - what the heck did I look like before??!! To me, I just flip it around and think, good grief I must've looked really bad if they are making such a big deal about it.

Just one more little "thing" I'm trying to work on and get my head around, so that I don't have to keep losing weight over and over again!

I've decided to do a protein shake day.. see if I can shake things up a bit!

I use Nature's Best Low-Carb Isopure Dutch Chocolate and make it with almond milk- about 3/4 of a cup. I think I need the shot of mega vites and minerals it contains, too. I'll let y'all know how it works out!

The macros are: 250 cals/ 5g carbs/ 4g fat/ 51g protein

I may split the 2 shakes into 4- we'll see.
