I cut my grapefruit halves into wedges (with the skin on the bottom of each wedge), as you would an orange. Easier to eat. Some sprinkle stevia, but I like them plain.
Have also been enjoying Fuji apples, too, and I"m not really an apple person. I count tomato as a veggie, per Simeons, UNLESS I have another veggie in the meal. Then I count it one of my two fruits. (Although I'm now having only one fruit a day, no melba and trying a 1/4 cup of cottage cheese, per Robin.) I often mix veggies, per Robin Woodall. She believes Simeons had to keep them separate to rule out things that didn't work on the diet, and has seen no difference in hundreds of patients who mix and don't mix. Whatever. I don't think it's hurt me - no difference on days I mix and days I don't. Natural Calm is also at Whole Foods. I finally started sleeping better thanks to that stuff. Plus the other benefit. I highly recommend (Dawn, you're the reason I tried it!)

I don't know about others preference, but in my opinion, if you are going to try grapefruit, start with a red one. I find the others are more bitter.

Grapefruit? I've never had in on P2. I always forget about it, kinda' bitter for me. I may pick one up next time I'm at the store. Oranges seemed to stall me. Apples?
I love crisp, sweet apples - Gala's right now. And Honeycrisps are back!! Buttah-that looked good! Learning to cook w.o. fat has been hard for me, but I've learned a lot this past year too!! Making my own chicken broth in the crockpot right now. The house smells divine!! I think my meds just kicked in. I can breathe!! Ahh, the little things in life!! ![]() We're watching The Avengers. Gotta' go!

It's not unheard of. I gained 9lbs loading once too. It comes off so quick. Don't become a slave to the scale though. I know it's exciting to see the numbers go down so quickly, but sometimes we can sabotage ourselves that way. Once a day is max!!!!! I'm trying once a week now.

Im 304 # so i can vary 5-6 pounds easily through any given day. I was hoping to be under 300 by now so gaining 9 during load, kinda freaked me out... but I know by this time next week Ill be in the 200's and never see a 3 in front of my weight again ! Thats kinda good motivation for me right now not to cheat.

Manders-
Homemade chicken stock- which is richer and more nutrient dense than 'broth'- is soo easy to make! You can do it on the stove top or in a crock pot. It's the bones that make a 'stock'. So, if you're just making that- you can use the bones left over from cutting the breast meat off, there will be little bits of meat on them and that's fine.. If you're want chicken meat for soup- then use the whole breast, bones in, skin removed. (That being said, I usually use a whole cut up chicken, skin off, and then defat the stock- more on that later!) I mix the dark meat into my cats food- they LOVE it. You'll need: Chicken pieces (up to you- just bones, whole breasts, or whole chicken) 1-2 onions- cut in quarters. 2-4 stalks of celery, cleaned and cut in half 1 Carrot 2-3 garlic cloves (optional) sea salt to taste and peppercorns 1 bay leaf (if you like it) Fresh parsley (also optional) Turmeric is a great addition, too.. nutrients and color! Put the chicken in a stock pot and cover with cold water by a couple of inches. Bring to a gentle boil. Skim off the foam that forms- usually within 5 mins. Add the rest of the stuff, lower heat to simmer, and cook until the meat is very soft, 1-2 hours. (In the crock pot- cook on low for 6-8 hours, or longer- it won't hurt it!) Remove the bones/meat, de-bone, and set aside. Separate the white/dark meat if you used all parts. Strain the stock and discard the solids. There ya go- homemade chicken stock!! To remove the fat- put the stock in the fridge and let the fat congeal at the top. You'll be able to scrape it right off. The stock will be gelatinous when cold- and melt right down when heated- so good for your hair and nails!! To make P2 chix soup- 'saute' your veggies in a little broth, add 3 oz of the chicken you set aside, and ladle in the broth. Yum! |

Morning ladies and gents and howdy from Texas. Praise the Lord and sweet baby Jesus I AM DOWN 3.5!!
Yea baby! Last night I did a detox bath and I am hoping that will help me go! Nothing yet. I did not stop last night to shop for Natural Calm, but I will get it. My foot was so swollen after work and didn't feel like getting out of my car.Shelby - That IS an easy way to remember 200, 300, 400! I love dinner dude. It's a little pricy, but it comes out to about $8-9 meal if you do the program. I just figure as much as I drink and eat off HCG, I am actually saving money. Dawn - I will have to make some calls today and see who carries NC. Y'all have got me convinced now! LOL about sharing the food. Well darn, we don't get much so I don't share either!! Mandy - Do you like grapefruit? You can have 1/2 of one. I have been doing apples but will buy some grapefruit this weekend. Wonder if they last longer than strawberries. Buttah - Bless you...you narrowed it down for me so I will call my Whole Foods today. There is one right on the way home. ![]() Karen - Red grapefruit it is! Thanks for the tip! Julie - You took the words right out of my mouth. Honeycrisp are DA BOMB!! My all time fav! Glad you are feeling better ravr - I just found this and it's a great read. Keeps me motivated! TIPS FOR P2 OF DR. SIMEONS PROTOCOL WTG on the 4lbs!!! AWESOME! ![]() How is the rest of our crew? Natalie, Temeka, HChick, Berta, Dbunny?? Does anyone have any events this weekend?? I am supposed to go to our county fair tomorrow night to see Josh Abbott band. He is my fav Texas country singer. My son has been feeling low lately and he was going to watch DD, so either I will get a sitter for her and he will come with us or I'll stay home. He is 19 and having some anxiety. He starts Marine boot camp on Jan 14th so I would like to nip this in the butt before he leaves. I also have a 1yr old bday party to attend on Sat. I feel I will do fine, but afraid BF will be able to tell I am on the plan again.

WTG, Sas!!!
![]() Really- you are hiding hcg from your SO?! That has got to be a PITA! My hubby is happy about it because 'at least you're eating something'..lol. He gets pretty upset when I do my yearly 28-day water only fast, which I love. he hates it! Only because he worries- I wish he would trust that I know what's best for me. I usually have to remind him that it was water fasting that completely cured my IBS- so worth it after suffering for years with it! Anyway, sorry yours is not able to support your journey.. at least you have us!! ![]() Today marks week 1 for me. Other than my splurge last Sunday that set me back a bit- I've done pretty well. -6.0 lbs and 4.75" gone! Loving it!! The only thing that bugs me about this phase is the wiggly-jigglies I get while all this fat is being mobilized. I was glad to see everything firming up during my last P3 and definitely look forward to that again... in November. ![]() Quote:

HC - He claims I am a lil 8itchy on HCG and it's pretty true. It just makes me more hormonal and I swear this week I have been pretty snappy! PITA is kinda my nickname, lol. And YES, I am lucky to have you guys fo sho! Jiggles bother me too so I have started some light weights for arms. Congrats on your 1st week! 6lbs is great!!

Speaking of eating something.. I made a whole tray of grilled chix kabobs yesterday..omgoodness.. so delish!
I marinated the breasts for 2 days in a combo of OJ, white balsamic, lime, scallions, garlic, Montreal seasoning, and tons of fresh rosemary. Patted them dry- cut into chunks at P2 portions and then skewered them with onion- a little more seasoning and grilled to perfection! Had a portion on a bed of shredded romaine with a few cucumber slices and a shot of fresh lemon juice for dinner last night.. can't wait for lunch today! (can't wait to try these on P3 with a Greek yogurt raita sauce. Oh my. |

From one of my besties- and one of the best Astrologists I've ever known...
"Sept 29- very emotional full moon for all of us. Don't bring up faults, ask for favors or look for trouble. Follow routine, lay low. All my favorite Astrologers are talking about it. They're worried about a full blown war breaking out, moons in Aries, which is an emotional sign. Stay home and lay low, if you can...problems with friends or lovers. Also be careful with fire...Will feel effects from Sept 27-Oct 4" She expounded a bit on what she and her cronies are saying about this Saturday; the alignments are so extraordinary- they are warning everyone they know to bite their lips when interacting with loved ones, but even more so with strangers, and to take extreme care re: fire prevention. Supposedly- a VERY combustible week ahead, on every level. Quote:

Happy-I want to come live with you!! I am not as dedicated to cooking these days!! Thanks for helping Mandy out w. the broth.
Sas- at keeping if from BF. He'll figure it out. Weekend socializing is the harded part of hcg for me . Hope you do well and have a good one!! Manders-like HC said, it's pretty easy. I never did it before this past year . I use the carcass of a rotisserie chicken. This time I didn't put onions or celery in (but I usually do) as I was in a rush. Just threw the carcass, skin and all, into the crock, covered w. water and added onion pwdr, garlic, and some other seasonings to the crock. Strained it, and put it in the fridge to cool. I'll skim the fat off today now that it's cool. It's kind like jello when it's cold, but it liquifies once warmed. Don't be afraid of it!! Ravr-I'll bet you're down at least 6 lbs overnight!! You'll do great!! I'm in the same range today. Been 144.4ish for 5 days now (got down to 143.8 on Tues. morning, but that's not sticking). Bummer I'm leaning toward riding it out and see what the scale says Sunday. I could go a little longer, but I really don't want to. I leave for Mexico Oct. 13 and would like to have as much P3 and stability in me before I go. NOt sure how the food will work while I'm there. Hoping I get to help shop and cook so I know I'll have P3 options. Really thought I'd be down today . ![]() |

=) I love to cook and am always feeding someone! Come on down!!
I'd bet that it is the cold meds stalling you- but, probably only water weight. Hope you have a whoosh soon. In the meantime, it wouldn't hurt to up your water/lemon water intake. And, I mean, drink til you float.. ![]() Hopefully, you'll be able to taper down on the Sudafed before Sunday to see if it makes a difference. Here's to a huge whoosh!! Quote:

Re: hunger. The first few days are a *****! If you stick to protocol and your hunger hasn't subsided by vlcd3-4- then, your dose may need to be adjusted. I recall that your clinic has you on a high dose b/c of your starting weight (something I never heard of, really!) Like Shelby said earlier- sometimes, too much hCG is worse than not enough. Water is your best friend right now. Drink all you should, and then, some more. Hot tea in the evenings always helped me when I felt hungry- maybe try that. Or save a protein from meal 2 and have it at 8. I wouldn't recommend saving a fruit- too much of an insulin boost for nighttime. Hopefully, you'll only need to do this for a couple of days. I'm sure others will chime in here.. I'm still wet behind the ears, too. ![]() I'm on R2- and honestly- some days, I have to force myself to eat or I forget to eat until I realize it's 4pm! Quote:

@HappyChick... My Dr lowered my dose to 200 IU when I told him all the books and everyone online is doing 175.. even pounds n inches says higher dose would not benefit.
So I guess I will inject now... 6 am here. Was going to ask about water. I seem to have 1-3 bottles a day ..If it really helps I will commit to drinking 8-10.. Does water really make a difference in how fast you lose? Also wanted to ask where do you ladies inject? Do a lot of you inject into stomach? My dr says do upper thigh or butt? Water is SO important.. it is this protocol's secret weapon, if you ask me! I drink around 90oz a day and I do notice a difference in losses if I don't. It really helps in defeating hunger, too.
