Mag citrate doesn't help either..I have the powder in my office. It just makes my gassy and stinky. I've seen a gastroenterologist and did the whole colonoscopy thing and I'm all good. I think that Mexican bug royally screwed my insides up. I've read it can take several weeks to get back to normal. In the meantime, softeners once a day should help.

WooHoo!! I am down today!! And under my apple day weight. So that apple day sure got things moving!! I am so happy. I will start posting my weights as soon as I am back down to the weight in my avatar to the left. Cannot wait to get back there. I am thinking by the weekend.....
As far as bathroom issues--I am another that takes Natural Calm (magnesium supplement) at night. Love it!!!! Use it daily on P2 and it works. Last edited by dawnyama; 09-26-2012 at 09:16 AM.. |

Hey Dawn! Congrats on more losses! Have I mentioned I can't wait to lose?? lol I am so miserable after the load and being backed up. ARGH
I have also heard about the probiotics and I guess while I am shopping for those, I will try natural calm. Can't hurt. Thanks to all for suggestions! I greatly appreciate it!! On a good note, hunger has been pretty much at bay today. Maybe my load was sufficient. Going to eat my chicken breast and lettuce soon. Already had 34 oz of H2O today, yea me. |

Can someone tell me how to get my actual ticker, not a link to it, to show up in my signature. I've tried all the codes, and either they don't work, or they only provide a link.
Help? |

Sas-yes!! Try the probiotics esp. after some stomach upset. That'll help re-establish the right balance. Dawn- I am so happy for you!! That's such good news!! Plugging away. Just had my apple. The sudafed it helping, but will likely not help the scale. It's all good. I was planning to reach 145 this round, and I'm below it. So, any further losses are just me being greedy (you're so right Happychick!!). I would love to end this round at 142. I'm accepting I won't see 139, which is fine. It would be nice to have 145 be my upper maintenance limit. WE'll see ![]()

I'm so sporadic in posting, but I know I had my best round when I was posting often, so here goes. I had a slow start, but I've been on track for a few days. I honestly lost track of what day I'm on, but I'm going to keep going until I make it to my goal! I was down .8 today, hoping for more tomorrow!!!
Glad to see everyone is doing so well! Oh, and I think I read somewhere in the thread that someone was considering Natural Calm. Go for it! I can't tell you how much it has improved my life. I started using it during my very first P2 last year, and I discovered that not only did it help keep things regular.... it took away the panic attacks I was having during the night. I sleep SO WELL since I started taking it nightly. Good stuff! |

Welcome lemonmama!
I've been too chicken to say how many rounds I've been on, but heck if she is saying 500, I will say I 'think' this is my 4th round. lol I wanna get this Natural Calm tonight after work. I am in Texas. Where do y'all buy yours? Is this different than drinking that soda pop looking stuff with mag citrate, because that stuff doesn't really work on me either. Dang, we are gonna have a party after I go!! ![]() Last edited by Sas; 09-26-2012 at 12:35 PM.. |

I'm glad someone else is on the same schedule as me! We're doing it together! ![]() To my cooking ladies in here: I am completely inept in the kitchen. I'd like to make some P2 friendly soups. My favourites would be chicken and veggies, minestrone and onion soup. How do I make these? I am seriously kitchen handicapped. It must be simple or I won't do it. ![]() I currently have a ton of raw chicken in the freezer and that's it. I need a shopping list and instructions hahahaha

I get mine at Vitamin Shoppe. I have the raspberry lemon flavor. I fix a cup of tea and then add 2 rounded teaspoons. The jar says it is ionic magnesium citrate and carbonate. |

VLCD1 I suck at cooking... Can anyone help me create some structure before I mess things up.
Its 11 am here... So far I had 2 cups of black coffee and a half cup raw sliced cucumber. If I have a 3.5 oz piece of chicken breast (broiled) for lunch soon....and some talipia and spinach tonight would I be doing it right? or do I need to eat an apple too? I have been reading but this is hard for me to understand. Thanks in advance... |

I bought a George Forman grill for HCG, which I use a lot.
But mostly I chop up chicken, fish or lean ground beef, cook it in a pan with salt and pepper, then add garlic, chopped onions, a big glob dijon mustard, a bit of Braggs Liquid Aminos (less sodium than soy sauce, which is not on protocol), then add about two cups of cabbage or any other allowed veggie. Meal done. If you search the recipe thread, you can find my exact recipes. I like the cabbage because it makes a nice, big bulky meal. Sometimes I do a curry version in stead of the dijon. And please note: before this, I couldn't cook AT ALL. OH! ALSO search the recipes for "chili" AND "fire roasted tomatoes! The apples can be any time of day, or part of a meal, but NOT at the same time! (Same with the bread.)

Ravr - I copied this off another post:
Low Calorie Diet Breakdown One Serving of Fruit ( 2 x's a day ) - Apple, 6-9 strawberries, an orange, OR ˝ grapefruit 100 grams of lean meat (2 x’s a day) (3.5 oz if weighed raw, 3.0 oz if cooked) - Veal, beef, chicken breast, white fish (swai, tilapia, halibut, flounder, sole, wild Chilean sea bass), lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking. 3 egg whites & 1 egg with yolk can be substituted for a protein once or twice a week. 3oz low-fat cottage cheese may be substituted once per week for a protein portion. Vegetables (2 x’s a day) - Spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, lettuce (any type), tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus and cabbage (any type). Drinks - Water (1/2 to 1 gallon per day), Tea (any kind) or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only 1 Tablespoon of milk allowed in a 24 hour period. Stevia may be used as a sweetener. Green tea is also great to help with energy and even helps to burn more fat. (see fruity cold green tea recipe!) 2 Grissini/breadsticks or 2 melba toasts For more, see: HCG diet short form

SAS, that MC is not in the same "form" as natural calm. There is something particularly different about the way the MC in NC is absorbed. TRY IT! I did 2 or 3 rounded teaspoons the first evening, it made me sleepy AND began working within a couple hours. (For that matter, I've had trouble with NOW brand of other things: Example: I had their capsules of psyllium husks that did NOTHING; then I used Metamucil (not as good for you as Natural Calm) and it worked.)
RAVR, check the "HCG short form" thread. All the "rules" are in there! Last edited by buttah; 09-26-2012 at 02:10 PM.. Reason: added some important info |

Then later for lunch I'll have 3.5 oz chicken smothered in hot sauce with plate of cucumber. If I don't have strawberries in the morning, I'll add in a medium tomato to my lunch as well. Then for dinner I'll either have more chicken or switch it up to beef or fish with either more cucumbers or some salad with salsa or dressing(yes that's rogue). I've had success with small amounts of steamed broccoli as well. Can you tell I love cucumbers? ahahahaha I can't eat too much salad as it causes me a lot of tummy distress. Edit: So we can have 2 fruits a day? I didn't know that. I've literally only been eating 2 proteins and 2 veggies. Maybe that's why I've had such trouble staying on plan?? I posted that it was an ionic form and it was 2 types of magnesium. What you find in tablet form is very different than the powder form. Powder is much better absorbed, therefore I believe works better. NC works for me and my DH. He really gets some good results while taking it. And he is not doing the hcg protocol. |

I find that having tomatoes and strawberries in the same day doesn't work for me. What else could I have instead of the strawberries? Can't give up my tomatoes!
