First round, first vlcd ... Hungry all day, not really really bad but its definitely there. So do you guys eat grissini or melbas? I'm going strict protocol cause I'm new to this. Is it one grissini or one serving ? I'm so impressed by you ladies and your strength and your weightloss is great, I wanna join in.. seems like a good plan that can get you to goal , provided I can take the hunger...gulp.

Welcome nspeedracer. A serving is one grissini or melba (the 20-23 calorie ones), but you are allowed two servings a day - just not at the same time. I eventually replaced them nutritionally superior (more fiber, but same or better on carbs/sugar/calories/ingredients, etc.) WASA crisp n light 7 grain. Way bigger and tastier for the same calories.
I was hungry for almost a week (RX injections, just took a while to kick in) and HAD to have extra bits of protein just to stop my stomach from cramping. Also some zero everything chicken broth helped. Sometimes I put celery in it. Good luck!

Riss-being prepared it good. You'll be just fine!! ![]() Buttah- I don't intentionally tan either. I have kept SPF 30+ on my face daily since I was 21. My roommate in college was a "face" character at Disneyland (Snow White) and wasn't allowed to tan her face. And her mom had skin cancer. She taught me about protecting at LEAST your face all the time. I've always been thankful for that. I use bronzer when necessary and apply the self tanning lotion on my legs. I do allow my upper body to tan when we're swimming or outside a lot. W. 6 months of summer I have to do something to deal with the sun. I also have my doubts on the true safety of sunblock. Shade is my friend .Manders-glad your stomach has settled down. That's awful!! ![]() Reddy-I'm a 2X c-section momma. Not ideal, but so worth it!! My dd's are 3 years apart (3 days bdays apart). It's worked well. And skin cancer wise, we just buried a good, dear, friend 2 weeks ago who wrestled w. stage 4 skin cancer for nearly 3 years. Such a tragic death at 58. Kind of sobered me up a bit more. Never tried the full body spray tan thingy. I do the self tan on my legs, but that's all I've done. Hmmm.Have a great night all!! My softball team finally won!! The second game was ruled a tie, but the umpire made a bad call and we should have won that one too!! I actually enjoyed it (but was dreading it before - hot!!!). ![]()

![]() Re: tanning. I pretty much stay out of the sun in the summer except while on vacation and even then, limit my exposure to an hour a day with plenty of sunscreen. I've never had a sunburn- I tan very easily and that golden color sticks throughout most of the winter.. lucky I guess. In the spring, fall, and winter- I always sit in the sunshine for a good 20 minutes a day- no sunscreen. It's the best way to get my vitamin D, imo! You can't help but get plenty of sun in FL.. I always had a little color without even trying! Quote:

manders- you are gorgeous! in both pics!!
reddy- wowwy what awesome progress!! you look so much younger in your new pics! i had 3 c-sections and was looking at my body this morning after my shower and UGHHHHHH i'm skinny except for that pouch! seriously, i have been on hhcg for almost 3 months now and i weigh 111 pounds! my goal is 105. i was on a 2 week stall and the scale started moving again this week (i started adding coconut oil- i know- rogue). so basically, it took me 3 months to lose 23 pounds. which is fine- cause i didn't have too too much to lose. i want to get a tummy tuck and boob job but i really am afraid. i look fine in clothes though so meh.. who knows. but i love the way my face is thinner and you can finally see my abs- sorta. |

Morning Ladies, I don't see any males yet so I assume it's ok. ha ha. Today is load day two. I feel disgusting to say the least. My weight didn't go up today which kinda shocked me. Last night I had a foot long tuna salad sandwich. Two bags of chips and two slice of pizza. yucky.
Mandy - I have 23 shots left, but I might get more depending on whether I want to do a full round or not. I'm guessing I will. I have the countdown app too 'cept it was countdown to vacay. lol I didn't see Katie's show I am reading "Stop Eating Your Heart Out: The 21 Day Program". Good Stuff for emotional eaters.Dawn - Was the scale nice to you this morning? ![]() Reddy - You are 5'10" and 150??!! You're my hero! All I can say is WOW! Riss - Hope your headache found someone else to bother and you're feeling better. Buttah - I hear ya sista. I just hate spray. I'm sure they are a lot better quality in LA. Here, they make you stink like trash for 3 days. I do botox and I have had a lift and implants. I fight to stay young bc my BF of 3 years is 26!! ANOTHER reason why I want to lose some weight. I feel more confident around all his 20 something friends! ha!Berta - You can do it!! I love your motto about food not ruling us. This round I am going to heavily read books about eating disorders because I truly feel I have one. I hope someday we won't turn to food for comfort anymore. Julie - Congrats on your softball win ![]() Welcome nspeedracer! 1 Grissini breadstick not one serving I love the sun and tanning, but I always do in moderation and just to have some color. I use lotion everyday and I do not want to look like a leather purse. I haven't used a tanning bed since March, but I will be going back soon and that will only be like once a week. I just don't have a lot of spare time to do stuff like that. I added some pics to my gallery. Forgot to take pics last night, but still have today for loading so I will be nice and plump tonight and will try not to forget. Question...what is STS and CD? Never seen those before. ![]()

Hi everyone. Sorry to post the same thing in two threads, but I need advice:
EMERGENCY, need help before I eat anything. Okay, today is day 4 of STS. (week 4 - typical, right? Why did I lengthen the round FOR THIS?!) And even though I KNOW it's only a water situation, I am strongly considering an apple day, purely for psychological reasons (as Dr. S it was anyway). But first, please tell me: As someone whose body NEEDS protein and doesn't love high glycemic foods, how do you FEEL just eating apples all day? I'm already barely managing hunger, and I fear just apples will make me hungrier. I wish it were a protein day. Are there any alternatives to a P2 apple day? Like, from Biz? I know what Robin would say, so I won't even ask her (and I don't disagree with her; I'm just frustrated). And doesn't a day of just apples make you ravenous by the day after? Help! I need answers and experiences! |

Buttah- Take a deep breath!
Apple days are very effective- and, me personally- was not ravenous the next day, quite the contrary. I also never wanted to see another apple as long as I lived tho- lol. Simeons: "The other way to break up a plateau is by giving a non-mercurial diuretic for one day. This is simpler for the patient but we prefer the apple-day as we sometimes find that though the diuretic is very effective on the following day it may take two to three days before the normal daily reduction is resumed, throwing the patient into a new fit of despair. It is useless to give either an apple-day or a diuretic unless the weight has been stationary for at least four days without any dietary error having been committed." Quote:

Welcome DB! Wow..you've got some great stats! Speaking of interruptions, what exactly defines an interruption? Is that when you have to go to an event or your on vacation and you absolutely can't eat protocol?

I already don't love apples. The idea is just not appealing, especially when I'm barely managing hunger. And re-reading Dr. S saying it's "purely psychological," as in the water weight will eventually come down anyway, I almost feel the "grown-up" thing to do is just be patient and have another perfect protocol day. Not taking a diuretic, so looking for any "alternative" P2 stall-breakers.
"A plateau always corrects, itself, but many patients who have become accustomed to a regular daily loss get unnecessarily worried and begin to fret. No amount of explanation convinces them that a plateau does not mean that they are no longer responding normally to treatment. In such cases we consider it permissible, for purely psychological reasons, to break up the plateau." Last edited by buttah; 09-25-2012 at 08:55 AM.. |

Sorry I haven't done any personal shout-outs yet. I'm having a hard day, but I will get to it.
Have thought it over and, and there is no way I can do an apple day. I had one apple already and the very idea of 4 or 5 more makes me feel weak. HCG is hard enough. I will have to let the water weight play itself out the "natural way." And considering that I'm certain I ovulated a week or so ago, this is probably just my uterus filling up with fluids. Chances are any apple day fix would be temporary or set up me up for yet another stall. Not doin' it. |
