I feel the same as you. I love my shakes But you get to the point where you want to chew something. I was on a shake regime for at least a week when I had a bad reaction to a mouthguard the dentist gave me. Turns out I was allergic to what it was made of. I had bleeding gums so bad I thought my teeth would fall out. I could not even chew a noodle that came with chicken noodle soup--or the carrots that my DH cooked to death in that soup. I was on liquids only and it killed me to not chew something after 2 days of it. But I simply COULD NOT eat anything. But I admit those shakes are sooo easy. And how simple to find out the calories too!

I am glad you got your whoosh. I would suggest not doing the shake day every day, but maybe every other day would work.

yay! WTG on the -1.6 whoosh, too.. so awesome!!

.. on the mouth guard! I had a perm bridge removed a few years ago- the dentist had to create a partial for me b/c unfortunately, the anchor tooth below the bridge had crumbled and the span was too large to do another. Well- same thing happened to me- the material they used to construct the partial affected me the same way.. I thought I was gonna die from the pain and swelling and bleeding gums..omg! I remember laying on the kitchen tiles trying to suck up the coolness. Agony! My dentist kept telling me that it was 'normal' to have sore gums under a partial- that I would get used to it. Bast*rd! Did I mention that I fired his arse!? UGH!!

Happy--that was me!! OMG!! I thought I was dying too. My dentist told me she thought something else was causing all that pain and distress. I didn't fire her because she did help me out by not seeing me. No cost of a visit--thank goodness. She called in some meds. Then when I was no better and lost 5 lbs, DH took me to Urgent Care because I looked like death. It was awful. I couldn't stand because I hadn't eaten anything but those protein shakes. It was awful. Not a good way to lose 5 lbs. LOL. I always say "whatever it takes to lose weight" and sometimes you just have to say "bad idea".

I'm curious.. what type of protein shakes do you use?

It took me a couple of weeks to find one that fit my criteria- it had to be soy free as I don't eat that poison! Nor, will I do Aspartame. And, I wanted a shake that had the whole gamut of vitamins. I thought it would be easy..lol. Anyway- I have been super happy with this Nature's Best Isopure.. it comes in a 'NO' carb formula too- but, I haven't tried that- just the "low carb".

It says right on the tub- "not a meal replacement' but- I don't think they know about hCG..

I am not picky at all. I buy what is available at whatever store I am in at the time. I also buy some that are being closed out at said store. I bought out some of The Biggest Loser protein. I am sure that brand is Designer Whey but has the biggest loser on it in bigger letters because of the branding. I bought it because when I do JUDDD, the calories matter more than the overall content of the food. Also my son wanted some protein shakes for when he worked out. He can handle more carbs than me. So all that to say--I do NOT buy soy protein--ick, ick and double ick---but other than that I am not picky. What I find in Walmart suits me just fine.

Robin allows a protein drink as a meal replacement that you can also whip up with some ice and fruit to make it more like a smoothie. They're called Premier Protein (chocolate), and Costco has them. Haven't had one yet (I need MEALS), but my son has. I think Robin carefully picked them because of the high protein and other nutrient make-up.

Julie--looks like today is an all around good day !!!! Whooshes all around. I feel skinnier too and can tell in the mirror I am getting those pesky fat pockets off. Good riddance to them!!!

HappyChick, could you please share what your shake day was? Isopure mixed with what? how many calories x how many? Did you just add fruit once?

This is something I would try, just for change, but using Robin's recommended shake brand (I am paying her, after all!) Although I am down again today, just no whoosh. (about .5 I think, stay tuned) I think my whoosh days are over!

Both Happychick and Dawn, kudos on the whoosh. I knew it was coming for you, Dawn. Gotta have faith!

Manders, I saw the word dog and had to click it off. I'm such an animal lover that I can't get horrible stories out of my head for months. They give me nightmares. Whatever it was, I hope it ended okay. Sounds like it did.

Yep- that's exactly what I do.. protein powder, almond milk and ice. Last night, I added the frozen strawberries... mmm, mmm, mmm, felt like I went to the ice cream stand. Yum!!

How tall are you? I am 5'8" and pretty big boned and carry weight well. I'm lucky that way at least. My OPP…just go with the flow stick to plan and if it doesn't come off, maybe it will in P3. I hope I learn to be as disciplined as you.

Reddy - I have not been the most productive worker this week, hence why I'm on this thread 24/7, but next week that will change because I'm an accountant and we have close. So y'all won't see much me either. How's the weight today? Did .4 take a hike?

ravr - That is what we are here for! SUPPORT! I don't care what weight each one of is, I think we all feel the same struggles. Some have more than others, but sometimes I wonder why I feel as if I have a sickness with over-eating when I only need to lose 15lbs. It takes over me, consumes every thought of my day and I want to end that vicious cycle and enjoy life. I come here because no matter what weight I am, y'all understand the journey and there is no judging. You WILL break 300 and I can't wait to see that post!

HERE IS MY SPILL -I caved slightly last night I had 8 oz of a beer and about a palm full of snack mix. I had to give myself a little talking to - to stop with the snack mix. I'm not going to list of a bunch of excuses why I cheated because it doesn't matter. I am proud that it didn't come to more than that. NC seems to be working and before I went potty I was down another 1.5 today (164), so maybe I am closer to 163.5 now. It was hotter than heck at the concert due to being outdoors. I didn't even really have fun but made the best of it. Was home by 1am. Had to take BF to Whataburger and watch him load up on 2 taquitos and a large french fry!!

TTYL! I'm sure I will chime in later. Stay strong group!! Peace out for now!

Buttah- more than happy too!

1 Serving = 2 Scoops Nature's Best Isopure, Low Carb + scant .5c unsweetened almond milk + 2 tsp Benefiber + 5 ice cubes + 5 frozen strawberries. (I added spring water to the first shake- too thick w/o the strawberries)

Macros per serving:
264cals (w/ strawberries) /11g carbs /2g fat /51g protein


My lunch shake was more close to 250 cals, and a few less carbs- no fruit in that one. I had 2 shakes yesterday.

I'm really a pest here, but how many of those shakes did you have in your shake day? Two?

I entered both yours and Premier into my cal/nutrition calculator as the day's sole food (staying close to 500 calories - 3 Premiers, two of yours), and both come up sorely lacking in protein from a regular protocol day. Hmmmmmm. Sounds good, though.

Sas, sounds like you did alright, and you're examining the "why" of it all, can't ask for more than that. But don't deprive me of my .5! (I think .2 was yesterday. Actually day's number is still not official. Need to visit the bathroom first.) Glad the NC is working!

Sorry- I was typing it out when u wrote this. =)

See above!!

Isopure has 50 grams of protein per serving- that's 100g in two! The almond milk also has 1 gram per cup. No way does it fall short! 3.5 oz chix breast only has approx: 27 grams!

You do realize that the 50g of protein in the shakes is NOT the weight, right?

100g chicken= 27g of protein

As for the protein, I'm just comparing a hypothetical shake day totals with all of my previous weeks. It's less protein for me anyway (although I'm only having the 100 grams, but always low fat meats like chicken and fish. So 100g x 2 for a regular day comes out more protein).

What I love about this protocol is that the inches are still coming off- even when we seem to be stalled scale wise! hence, Pounds and Inches, right!?

I am on phone so I can't post much right now but Buttah I'm a teaholic! Was PRE HCG and then during it was that much more! Huge fan of loose leaf teas (Teavana) but Stash makes amazing bags too!

Nice whooshes all!!!

Funny how that seems to hit quite a few people at the same time

I am doing well...no pain in my arm today...only when I lift it above shoulder level. I bribed/threatened the family that we needed to do some downstairs cleaning...and that I could not do much lifting, sweeping, vacuuming, etc. They did all that...I worked on dishes/dishwasher mainly...sooooo now I gotta make their choc. chip cookies

I dropped 1 lb. last night...yay...so 16 more to go

TTYL...I'll check back after a few loads of laundry are done.

Hi everyone!

Up .2 today but after my loss yesterday im not bummed at all. I pretty much expected it, and i FEEL thinner, so i'll take it im meeting up with some friends later to go to an Octoberfest and im trying to figure out how to swing that without completely ruining my day. Im going to hold off on lunch until right before i go around 3 pm, then either eat when i get home or try to pick some stuff out. Im not a big beer drinker so im not worried there. Hows everyone elses saturday going?

HERE IS MY SPILL -I caved slightly last night I had 8 oz of a beer and about a palm full of snack mix. I had to give myself a little talking to - to stop with the snack mix. I'm not going to list of a bunch of excuses why I cheated because it doesn't matter. I am proud that it didn't come to more than that. NC seems to be working and before I went potty I was down another 1.5 today (164), so maybe I am closer to 163.5 now. It was hotter than heck at the concert due to being outdoors. I didn't even really have fun but made the best of it. Was home by 1am. Had to take BF to Whataburger and watch him load up on 2 taquitos and a large french fry!!

TTYL! I'm sure I will chime in later. Stay strong group!! Peace out for now!
So, all things considered, it's not too bad! You're down? I'd be thrilled!! Onward you go!! I'm 5'6" and large framed w. extra skin (thankfully covered w. clothing all the time!). I've aleady wanted to be 145ish, and am having a hard time believing I'm actually here!! Thanks for reminding me of how far I have come. I need to take a breath, realize I'm done!! Woohoo!! But, that doesn't mean there isn't still work at maintaining. But that'll be more fun, I think!

Buttah- you're doing well!! Let us know if you do a shake day. I need to chew, so that won't work for me.

Just got home from practice (helping w/ dd(9)'s vball team). Whew! It's hot out there!! Getting my girls to clean up their rooms and the playroom (like you Angela) and then hope to go see Hotel Transylvania .Should be a fun day!!

I'm really looking forward to being done. I may skip tomorrow's doses. I'm pretty hungry today and am very happy w. today's weight. I may just call this LDW. If I STS tomorrow, I will. Very excited to move on with my life!!

HC - So glad your shake day worked!! Nice! Sounds like fun

Julie - I didn't gain from the CO, but didn't really lose either (not gonna count 0.2 lbs, lol). I had a full tbsp of cream in my coffee today. It was nice Maybe I'll up protein a bit, we'll see! I could be protein deprived. Hmm, so about that protein shake day...

Dawn - Nice whoosh! Glad for you and everyone else that had their whoosh! Still waiting on mine..I've been feeling so jiggly!

Sas - I'm sorry you caved a bit, but it wasn't too bad overall. I think knowing why you caved is important! And I WILL congratulate you on taking your bf out to a burger joint and watching him eat. I've had to do that too. It's not fun. I tried not to stare too angrily at the sweet potato fries

I have to say that I've spend this entire round getting back to where I was at the end of my first round. (I mean I'm not QUITE done yet, my LDW will be Tuesday or Wednesday, but still). I ended my first round at 161 and right now I've been stalled around 163 for the past few days..sigh. I got to 163 in the first part of this round, took an interruption and gained weight back, and then spent the last 1.5 weeks getting back here, dangit! I've learned a lot about my emotional eating issues and yo-yoing, but Clearly these are things I need to work on before I can make any further progress!!

I was hoping to break 160 before calling it the end, but at this point I'm not sure if it will happen..oh well, I'll have to take what I can take! I guess it's still possible but getting a bit unlikely, lol. I DO think that I've actually lost some inches though..I fit into some size 6 jeans yesterday which I've never done before!

Anyway. I had to spill a little too! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Well, I got thru the fat fast day much easier than I ever have before hhcg... but
NO LOSS.
Its got to me one of my medications.
Im going to try to figure out something to take besides narcotics in my pain meds, but the amitriptyline and inderal really help the serverity of my daily headache/migraine.

im glad you two broke your stalls! Im so happy for ya!

Aw jeez. I don't really feel like one. I was kind of mad at myself that I didn't do it in the backyard. He didn't have blood flowing to his brain for about 90 seconds. Don't know what sort of long term effects that will have, but we're just so elated for him to still be alive.

I'm one of those people that doesn't get emotional in these sorts of situations. I just shut down and become a robot and do whatever needs to be done. When I first watched that video a month ago, I was like yeah I don't know if I could ever do that. You never think it will happen to you, and then it does and it hits you like a freight train.

I actually didn't do the rescue breathing, just the compressions. I knew that it wasn't something ilke a blocked airway so I went right to the CPR.

He's alive! My dogs heart stopped while he was in the backyard last night. He wasn't breathing, no heart beat and no response. I scooped him up to take him to the vet and when I got to the garage, I remembered how I had learned to do dog CPR about a month ago, so I laid him down in the driveway and did CPR. He started breathing and his heart started up and I was able to get him to the animal ER in time.

Reddy - I have not been the most productive worker this week, hence why I'm on this thread 24/7, but next week that will change because I'm an accountant and we have close. So y'all won't see much me either. How's the weight today? Did .4 take a hike?

ravr - That is what we are here for! SUPPORT! I don't care what weight each one of is, I think we all feel the same struggles. Some have more than others, but sometimes I wonder why I feel as if I have a sickness with over-eating when I only need to lose 15lbs. It takes over me, consumes every thought of my day and I want to end that vicious cycle and enjoy life. I come here because no matter what weight I am, y'all understand the journey and there is no judging. You WILL break 300 and I can't wait to see that post!

Thank you! I am so happy he is still alive. He's the most important man in my life (seriously). It's so important for pet owners to know how to do CPR and first aid. It literally can be life or death.

I've had about 2 hours sleep. Every time I closed my eyes last night, all I could see was the image of him laying motionless in the grass and all I could hear was the sound he made. It was the most horrible thing I've ever heard in my entire life. When I ran outside, I didn't have my glasses on so I couldn't even see what had happened. I didn't know what I was running in to. I actually thought a coyote had him because we live quite close to a park and coyotes go up and down our street. I was literally ready to fight one off. I know he's alive now, but it was literally my worst nightmare. I often have bad dreams about my pets and family dying. So now I know what it's like to live that out. It was the worst night of my life. I can't even comprehend that he collapsed in the first place, never mind the fact that I did the CPR and it started his heart again. I'm still in shock, happy, but in shock.

Wow, Manders. How amazing, and good for you. My dog is everything to me, so I can only imagine. I call him my security blanket, my Prozac, my therapist, my glass of wine, my Valium, you name it. A scare like that would be such a fright. How amazing that you knew what to do!
