Im so pumped!!! Do you ladies think it's a good idea to do some weight lifting in P2?? I really want to tighten my arms, thighs and butt. Maybe twenty to thirty minutes a day?? I did alot of cardio last year( 1 1/2hrs a day)elliptical and i lost 56 lbs. I got these rolls under my butt. I regained some (the reason im on hhcg) and i don't want droopy skin this time. I thought weights might help instead of so much cardio.

Im definitely going to try those apple chips...mmm..delicious!!!

Berta, Reddy, LaraSuzz, Dawnyama and manders- way to go on your losses!!

Manders-I've been married 10 years(together 15 yrs) & we've only been away from each other 3 times..we can't sleep without each other!!
I completely understand..

Happy Releases!!!
Welcome back Tameka! Hope this round is great for you!!! Can't say for sure about the lifting, I think I've read that if you were doing it before hand you can continue to, but not to over do it. But if it's not something you have been doing for a while, it's not advised to start in this phase.

Also, some people find that exercise like that makes them retain water... perhaps it's better for P3. But I'm not sure.

everyone! So excited to see you all starting or fighting the good fight.

I had the craziest time with my dinner last night. I was going to cook up a bunch of fish and have one for dinner, but I got home kind of late and decided to just make a Biz smoothie and then cook the fish for the future. I put everything in the blender, and then realized I forgot to put the blades in..as the water is leaking out all over the counter.. So I tip the thing on its side to keep the contents in while I get the blades and start cleaning the counter and suddenly my fuse blows! So the whole kitchen goes dark and I can't see and I have this blender laying on the counter and a mess everywhere..I had to drag everything to my bedroom and finish my smoothie-making in there. And then I got out my emergency lantern to put some light in the kitchen so I could actually clean it! I was sitting on my bed drinking the smoothie like "I should have seriously just made the fish!!"

And I cooked all my fish this morning..you know, utilizing natural light. Lol.

Looking forward to a big drop in the morning!

Omg I ate a ton of (low carb) food this weekend to prepare myself for re-entering P2..cannot tell you how many times I've seriously gone to the bathroom in the last two days!! Hehehe.

Oh yeah, if he is cool with your potty talk, he's a keeper. If I'm with a guy that gets squeamish about TOM talk, I'm automatically like "friend zoooooonnneee"

Buttah I hope the Natural Calm worked for you!!! I hate that feeling and I have had to rely on the Senna tea to go at all this round although the apples seemed to bring me a movement today!

LOL Manders at telling your BF you might die!

Cocoa! Welcome to the mix!

Berta, I hope you hit the 50lb mark this round. I have a feeling you will b/c you've been doing so well!

As for me, my apple day yielded me a 1.4lb loss! Seems the only times I've seen any movement on the scale this round were the two times I drank the tea and then the apple day but whatever, I'll take it!

I could NOT have done the Apple day if I was experiencing the hunger I had before but It wasn't that bad b/c I wasn't actually hungry. IT was more a mental thing of YUCK to another apple. I ate 5 in total. One plain, one I made into APple Sauce and then I did 3 batches of Apple Chips. I also drank some tea and water like Manders always says she does b/c I was THIRSTY!

So with that, I"m going to plug on since I'm not feeling hunger anymore. Plus I have a ton of P2 food to finish up anyway! I'm at 156.4 this morning and my goal at this point for the round was 155. I think I can get there!

Have a great day friends!
Reddy
I am so happy for you CONGRATULATIONS I know it has been a real struggle for you.But persistance paid off. KUTGW

Nice loss =)

I was just talking about this I want to try it sounds yummy!

I have terrible allergies and theone thing that made them go away plus seemed to promote losses was acupuncture! Try it it totally got me off allegra claritin flonase and benadryl!! Neti pot is good to cleanes the sinuses of pollen and allergens...

I just think there are two kinds of people, thoughtfull people and the people that justify themselves to make comments to others that are just plain inconsiderate and rude and I've had it with them. If they have the gall to say something to me having known me and my struggles then I will be happy to put them in their place and or just stop hanging around those kinds of people.
I am thinking that she is jealous of you too. I think that it's good to sit back and realize that her comments are simply a reflection of her own feelings torwards herself. The best think you can do is not react. I'm working on that myself and its hard.

I think the hormones mess with us sometimes. Treat yourself well.
I hate to say this but acupuncture would calm some of those funky feelings.. Obvi I'm a huge advocate, =)
WHO HOO on the loss

I thought you were already doing HCG? I 'm confused But it doesn't take much to confuse me
I am thinking if you haven't been exercising then you aren't suppose to in PH2

Black coffee is the worst. I put hazelnut stevia in it, and it's... meh. P3's addition of h&h is heavenly. I absolutely HAVE to weigh every day. It's my daily boost to keep going. GL!

Hope you get your drop!!

This made me LOL for real. I had a similar experience last evening, and I was like, "WTH is going on?!"

Nice drop!!

Dang! I've done that on previous rounds... keep going. Here's to a big drop tomorrow!

I've never had enough energy to do hard exercise, but I know some on the boards have done weights during P2. I stick to walks/pilates... & then only sometimes. GL with your start!!

~~~
I'm down 4.6, which is all my load weight, plus .5 or so!! I'll take it! I had a headache for most of yesterday and today it's still here. I don't think I've had adverse effects to Tylenol on HCG in the past. I't slow grade, but it's enough to be annoying & I have stuff to do!
Happy releasing, everyone!
Looks like you are on a roll with your losses too!!!! Nice isn't it
Morning ladies!!
and back Viola, Cocoa and Temeka!! You guys are doing great!!
Tameka-I gain when I start lifting. It messes w. the scale (and my head). You can do it, but you'll have minimal stamina too w. only 500cals a day. Whenever you add it, you'll likely see a scale bump up. It's so good for you though. I am waiting for P4.
reddy- for losing well on your apple day. almost there!! Hang in!! Glad the hunger is gone!! Whew!!
Berta-you're doing great!! Even w. dining out like that? Amazing!
Lara- and the miscalculation. I've done that too!!
I gained 0.2 overnight . I did walk 3 miles yesterday w. dd and then played softball for 2 hours last night. Felt like 10 hours!! It was hot and humid (we rarely get humidity and I was sweating the whole time-yuck!). I am a tad sore today and TOM has arrived, so we'll blame that. I was on plan so I know it's just fluctuation. But it still stinks. Last Tuesday (VLCD2) I STS. I'm noticing a Tuesday (day after softball) pattern that isn't a good one . Oh well. I do like playing and I'm committed. So, the water will have to fluctuate .
temeka - welcome and nice to meet you!
Berta - you are my loss hero.
Lara - I hate those fractions, but at least they're in the right direction.
Reddy - congrats on your apple loss. I wish I could do that. I don't think I can.
Julie - hang in there. .2 is a water adjustment and nothing more!
Manders - I hope to follow in your potty steps very soon.
So here's my update. The 150's are really mean. They keep waving their fingers next to their ears, sticking out their tongue, going "nah nah nah nah nah!" and running away.
That's right folks. STS. 160. After a PERFECT protocol day where I ended up with NO bread, not a morsel of extra protein and... 380 calories (all I was hungry for - YAY for that). So I guess the good news is that for whatever reason, HCG has finally totally kicked in for me hunger-wise.
The Natural Calm worked a bit last night, surprisingly, but not yet this morning. I've read it can take a couple days, so I did a teaspoon this morning and will do another tonight. But I'm confident having read up on it that it's a much healthier thing to use regularly than senna tea, so I'm glad I've found it. I don't want my bathroom muscles getting addicted to a daily nudge, and that can happen even with natural senna.
Just had a smoothie made of frozen strawberries, a handful of raw spinach, a tablespoon of skim milk (no less tasty than cottage cheese, btw) and a few drops of chocolate stevia. OMG it was so good.
Hope I see the 150's tomorrow.
Buttah- Really? I was so sure you'd be down today into the 150's! Grr!! Hang in there. I'm borrowing your smoothie idea. Does it really taste good? I was surprised by how good the cottage cheese one tasted (I add cocoa to it too, I could count it as a seasoning I guess).
Getting my hair highlighted and cut (trimmed) today. Gettting bangs . Appt at 11:30 which is lunch time. I think I'll have lunch early and bring my apple along. Not the best planning . I am excited for a bit of change and hope bangs will help me be patient while growing my hair back.
Julie, really really really really good!!!! And the chocolate stevia did just as good a job as the cocoa powder.
I did hair color a few days ago, and I'm Friday I'm having my long-ovedue Keratin straightening treatment (Brazilian Blowout). Without it, my hair is just so hard to manage (I have enough hair for three other people). I hesitated for a moment making the appointment, wondering if it affects HCG, but honestly, I HAVE to do it.
Bangs are always a fun change!
I was quite SHOCKED myself I told DH it was his birthday and I was going to enjoy myself.But I tried to eat the least fattening thing they had. He had an 8.00 off coupon at the resaturaunt here called Wodden Nickel and their food is sooo good
You hang in there you will be ok.I still don't see where you even need to loose any weight personally
Happy the hunger is gone. I hated that when it happened to me when I was doing the HHCG The smoothie sounds good except for the spinach in it I like spinach but I don't think I would like it in a smoothie?
Berta, it's very strange, I assure you, but you do not taste the spinach at all (you just get all the great nutrients and whatever bulk it adds to the drink.) Try it! I'm not sure it would work without a Bullet, Ninja or other type of really powerful blender.
COCOA- OMG WHAT an ordeal! I would have lost my mind! Kudos for you for still making your shake desipte all of that. Is your power back?
BERTA - That's AWESOME that you are down almost a lb even after DH's birthday! Congrats on being below LDW!!! You seem to be doing amazingly! Keep it up!!!
JULIE - Sorry to hear you are up this morning. Of course .2 isn't that much so you should have it off quickly but I know you were disappointed to see the scale move in that direction. As much as Exercise seems to be your enemy, there was a value to spending that QT with your Daughter and if you enjoy softball, you shouldn't give it up!!! Hang in there... you'll be rewarded soon enough! How did the appointment go? Do you like the bangs? I've never had them... but always wanted them!!! Picture?
BUTTAH - Do you really not think you could handle an apple day? When I was having the hunger there is no way I could have, but it wasn't TOO bad. Especially if you make different things with them. By the end you never want to see an apple again but it was worth it for the drop. I have a feeling those Elusive 150's are in your very near future. I have no doubt! You are doing so well you are due for a whoosh!! It's possible that being under in calories made you stall. You never know. But you'll get there soon!
Oh and more proof that we are twins... I also straighten my hair. I do the Japanese Thermal Reconditioning which is permanent and lasts me almost a year but still... I do it too! I had mine done on the day I entered P3 just in case b/c last round I was afraid to use ANY products or anything. But you should be ok with a Brazillian Blow out!! Curious, what is the reason that people shy away from Senna tea? I mean, I know it's not a FUN experience, is that the reason? I've used it twice this round... so I'm curious. I use a brand called Triple Leaf Ultra Slim. It really works. Oh so I tried your smoothie today and it really WAS good. I didn't have the chocolate flavor stevia although I'm sure that would be really good. I used a bit of Hazelnut and Vanilla. I've never done Spinach in a smoothie but it was GOOD!
DAWN- Congrats on your loss! YOu are doing great!!!
DELANEY - I'm not sure about Coffemate. I always use HWC or Half and Half.
I had a good, on plan day today. Hoping to see a small drop tomorrow to be rewarded to staying on plan. I only have like 5 doses left so I may as well finish it out especially since I'm not feeling hungry anymore. PHEW. I wish I could have felt this way the whole time but nothing I can do but go forward. Amazing the difference I feel though.
Menu for today:
Lunch: Sauteed Shrimp, Spinach Chips and Spinach and Strawberry Smoothie
Dinner: P2 Turkey Chilli
Dessert will be a grapefruit.
I haven't drank nearly enough water today and I"m worried It will cause trouble. I don't know why I'm having so much trouble doing water this time. I love water...
Reddy, Senna is a stimulant to the muscles involved. The problem with HCG diet is not really fiber (we get just enough if we eat the fruit and veggies) - it's more that there isn't enough food in the gut to stimulate the muscles. When you use Senna too often, the muscles become lazy and addicted to the stimulation. So it's basically addicting if you use it too much.
I could probably handle an apple day now, but I don't want to lose my newfound love of apples (thanks to my first Fuji on HCG). And since it's really only a water retention solution (and psychological as Dr. S even said), I guess I'd just as soon wait for the water to leave its own way. But we'll see after tomorrow!
I used to do the Japanese straightening, but it made my hair TOO straight and flat. I like a bit of bend in it, and the ability to do soft waves when I want. But glad to know it won't hurt me on the protocol.
Delaney, Coffemate is full of chemicals (and I think carbs and sugar, but not sure)! The day I changed to half and half (not fat free - way more bad stuff in there) my life changed. I can't wait to have it again.
Thanks for explaining that. Make sense. I don't usually use it when not on HCG and I certainly don't daily, usually once a week. I think the apples helped me move some which was nice. (TMI?)
I agree, the Japanese makes it too straight. Can't do ANYTHING with my hair b/c of it. I've considered trying the Keratin, and may try it one day but I love how my roots aren't curly or wavy. Esp this time after all the hair loss I experienced from pregnancy (post) I had all these little short hairs that grew back and stuck like little curls to the side of my head. Not cute!
I have really thick wavy/curly hair that tends to frizz. But thick doesn't even describe it. It's double hair. Anyway, the BB has to be done about every 3-5 months, and I actually like it better when my roots are in - gives me more body and lift from my scalp. You should try it. You might like it better, might not.
My menu today
spinach/strawberry/tablespoon non fat milk smoothie w/ chocolate stevia
halibut/asparagus
chicken curry
one WASA
Will probably have another shake as my second fruit (and a bit of extra spinach)... or an apple.
It's 9:30 and my hunger is kicking in. Going to have a melba although that will just send me into craving more carbs but I am hungry which is interesting b/c I haven't really been all day. Hopefully it will pass b/c I've had all my food for the day.
Maybe some broth will be good.
Without it, my hair is just so hard to manage (I have enough hair for three other people). I hesitated for a moment making the appointment, wondering if it affects HCG, but honestly, I HAVE to do it.
Bangs are always a fun change!
I'll have to check out that smoothie. Having my strawberries for dessert now .I got the Brazillian blowout a few months ago. Love it!! Makes my hair feel healthy and soft. I can blow it out straight really easily or add product and let it stay wavy/curlier. Enjoy!
Reddy-thanks! I put a pic on the LD thread (I think!). I am enjoying my bangs . Nice to change it up. I've had variations on the same hairstyle (changed the color up a bit) and am planning to grow it out. Been doing that for a while and it's getting old. I figured if I got bangs I could tide myself over w. something new to style. She but a bit too much off one side (IMO) but there's nothing you can do now! I like it and look forward to styling it myself. . Glad you had a good day and hope you're down tomorrow! It's nice to be rewarded when we're "good". I had shrimp too! Low cal and yummy!
Berta- thanks! You'd understand if you saw me in a bathing suit!! But I am pretty happy where I am (finally!!). You're losing so well!!
Lara-is gum bad? I chew it all the time
Dawn-Nice!!
Delaney-NOOO don't do it!! It's made from "corn syrup solids" as the main ingredient (used to work in the food industry)-basically sugar. Stick to real cream - heavy or half-n-half is fine. And WAY yummier!! Enjoy! I am jealous, I miss cream the most while on P2. Sigh.
Julie, if you have a fruit left, try the smoothie!!! Nevermind, just saw that you don't. Maybe your coffee smoothie?
Although broth always helps me.
temeka - hope you have a great round
cocoa - that blender incident had to be frustrating, I think I read that you don't weigh daily - do you find it too obsessive? I'm doing it for this first round but I'm not sure I'm going to for future rounds.
lara - sorry it was just 0.2 but at least it's going in the right direction
reddy - looks like the apple day worked for you, you've done so well hanging in there even though it's been tough
viola - YAY for losing all of the loading weight, you're off to a great start
buttah - hoping you see the 150s tomorrow
manders - good that you were able to go, I sure need to but I don't think I want it to be quite like that
I was down 0.5 this morning which is better than STS so I'll take it. I used a flex day today b/c I had some banking business to take care of and wanted to check in on our property that we're having logged. We actually went through McDonald's for lunch. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and ate the chicken and tomato slice wrapped in the lettuce leaf. I gave the bun and bacon to DH. He took a burger off of his double cheeseburger and made himself another sandwich using the extras from mine. I did eat 2 of his fries He said he was impressed that I only snagged those 2 Then we went to our property and ended up walking a few miles in the pouring rain that we had here today.
The rain put me in the mood for soup. I came home and made two different batches. I did a chili with ground beef and tomatoes. I put a lot of onion powder and ancho chili powder in there. It was weird not putting in onions, peppers, and some kind of beans? Plus, I really missed not sprinkling on some shredded cheese and adding a spoon of sour cream. I was surprised that it actually tasted pretty good. I wasn't really certain about the serving size so I just used a full ladle and a tiny bit more of just broth. It's kind of hard to judge a serving of ground beef?? I also cooked up some chicken and spinach in chicken broth. I threw in a pile of seasonings in that one and the taste I had wasn't bad. So I should be set for the week with soup.
Glad you had a drop, riss! I enjoy the p2 chili as well. I made it today w/ homemade tomato puree &the ground beef. Im a spaz, so I make it in single batches to ensure my servings are right.
The hunger is not too bad & my headache has abated a bit.
VLCD2: P2 chili, 1 apple, 1 grissini, chx & cabbage w/Braggs, mustard& tumeric, & freezing some strawberries for sorbet. 100+oz of water.... hopefully I get a woosh tomorrow
Well I'm NOT a happy camper today. I'm UP a lb!!!
Apparently the apple day didn't stick! That coupled with the fact that I had hunger again last night has me feeling so over it! I have 6 doses left but I'm thinking I'm reAlly done this time.
The gain could be due to water retention since TOM is due today but either way I'm really bummed out.
Almost done with the round (a hard one at that) and I'm not even 10lbs below LDW??! Not what I was hoping for. I thought I'd see 12-15lb loss at least!
I assume the gain is due to TOM and probably also that I did not drink enough water yesterday... But either way I'm going to call yesterday my LID. I'm not likely to lose on my period anyway. Today and tomorrow are last VLCD and Friday will be day one of p3
Hope your scales were much more kind this morning.
I assume the gain is due to TOM and probably also that I did not drink enough water yesterday... But I'm going to call yesterday my LId and hope to try and maintain that number.
Sorry about your apple day. Dunno whay that happens. Darned TOM..
I understand how you feel about not being near liw. I'm in the same boat. Just remember you are down and thats all that counts.
Julie~ you do gum on p2?
Boy did I have some strange dreams last night. I cant remember what they were but I did remember when I forst woke up and thought oh wow.
Ok so I am officially on day number 37 (with a 2 week break) and I've been back from my break since a week and a half. Since week 3 isnt usually very good for me especially after a PI... I am stopping on Friday.
I am a little dissapointed that A. I was up during my PI and B. I loaded
so I haven't really conquered any new ground.
I have been feeling very weak for the past two days. So weak that I have had to lie down on two occasions.
I think it's time to stop. I don't feel 100%. I need some protein and fat.
I will try to follow the normal diet until Friday morning. My last injection was Tuesday 5am so I should be okay to eat on Friday. I usually stop eating the apples and veg the last day just cause I'm so excited but maybe thats why I gain 2-3 lbs right out of the gate.
I am having detox rash, had it last night. Funny the side effects I get.
Why do I feel guilty like I'm giving up or something. I wish that I'd just lost 10 more lbs. It's the loading that was my downfall.
So the clinic that I go to was saying that I could continue to do lowcarb and loose after I get off this diet. (this after the 3 weeks p3 I guess) I expressed some concern for the loss of muscle and they didnt seem to unerstand that that might be an issue, but they also dont know anything about P&I.
I know for a fact that If I restrict calories and do low carb that I will loose. But at what price? No one really says anything about this.
Ok all have a goood day =) Lara
guys! Just wanted to pop in and see how everyone is doing. Looks like a few are transitioning. Just wanted to let you guys know that the Biz transition method called "Limbo" seems to have worked pretty well for me. Two weeks into P3 and I am back in my window, despite a wine/food weekend and a huge party last Saturday. It has seemed to help those last few days of low cal and made trasitioning to P3 a little less crazy frantic eat everything in the house just because I can thing! If you'd like details, let me know and I will post it. I made a plan--and a menu!
Good luck to everyone else!
Hi Ladies!
I'm so excited to be back HCG-ing! I lost nearly 20lbs on my first round. Did ok for about 2 weeks after I ended the round. Then my work life went crazy and my eating went kinda crazy...then we went on a cruise vacation, more eating! I finally got on the scale about 10 days after the cruise and was so amazed to report I was at 205 (I was around 202-203 at the end of my first round). So I loaded this last weekend...gosh, I thought i would barf i felt like I ate SO MUCH. THen Monday afternoon I got sick and still am. I nearly threw in the towel, but I took the day off from work yesterday, didn't eat much and got on the scale today. My LDW was 209 on Monday and today I'm 204! Whoop! Downward we go!
I love having this board for support!!
To be candid, I am keenly aware of a small, destructive horrible part of my subconscious going "yeah, you idiot, why'd you wait so long?" But I know in my heart that very same voice is what kept me waiting. So mostly I just want to...
BUTTAH WOO HOO! So So SOOOO happy for you! You deserve this! Enjoy every moment!!
I'm sure seeing that number is going to keep you motivated to stick this out and I have no doubt you'll be successful going forward now that you have figured it all out and gotten your hunger under control! I'm just so happy for you! All your hard work has paid off. NEver mind what took you so long, YOU ARE HERE!
I have to share a little "well ain't that some shizz"
So I was up a lb this morning which really bummed me out. So I had a cup of tea and then I said, let me go weigh again just to be sure what I saw this morning was right. And sure enough I'm up ANOTHER .6!!!
So that means a 1.6lb gain over night. I'm sick to my stomach with that. I'm SO over this round. I didn't even lose 10lbs this round after all that I dealt with. GRRRR
Last Round TOM stalled me but it didn't cause these kind of gains. Sure I didn't drink all of my water yesterday and maybe I had too much salt or something but seriously? Yeah no.
Going to try not to let it ruin my day, it's just a number afterall.
But I"m taking the number from yesterday and locking that in as my LDW and that's THAT.
I suspect the scale will not be my friend for the next week or so between TOM and my Planned Cheat but I'll figure it out after all of that. Right now I just want to be done.
It's encouraging though to see my friends doing so well. I couldn't be happier for you Buttah! You ROCK!
