So... I finally did the pregnancy test thing this morning.
We put 30units (more than a regular dose) on the test and it didn't even read it. Wasn't enough liquid so saturate it I guess so that didn't really work. So then I took it and peed on it and it came up negative. ![]() I finally called the woman from the Clinic to talk to her about what's going on and she wasn't much help. At all. She basically said that she had never seen this before where someone was that hungry this far into it. (really? Never?) When I suggested that the HCG may be a bad batch she said something (hard to understand her English) about how they make the batches into 10 kits and no one else has mentioned this that had HCG from the same batch so she is surprised. She then said that she'd talk with the other people at the clinic on Monday to see what they say and see if anyone else has reported this. So basically, nada. I don't even care that much at this point. I'm kind of over it. Sure I would LOVE for her to offer me a fresh batch to try again down the road or for her to give me my money back, but I won't push it. Especially b/c I did some thinking today about some things and here is what I concluded: First, I started thinking about the things I did differently this round from the first to try and figure out why this one was bad. Now granted, I didn't have the hunger last time so it was a lot easier to not do these things however LAST TIME: -I never had a single Cheat. I stayed 100 % on plan, never upped my food amounts, never put an oz of anything in my mouth that wasn't protocol. This time I have had a few small cheats. Small but they are still not ok. I ate half a cookie one day, one day I had a few chocolate chips. I upped my protein, veggies and fruit beyond the allowed amount many times because I was hungry which of course is not on the plan. -I tracked every thing I ate every day and if I stalled I'd stop eating that food for a few days. This time I only tracked my weight. - I did not eat the Melba Toast. This time I added it in due to my hunger and need for more food. -I ate a very limited menu and ate the same things day after day. This time I did a lot more "experimenting" with new recipes and things. I ate cabbage many times, I used Chicken and Beef Broth (never did that in round 1) I ate tomatoes a few more times than I should have when I know that they caused me trouble in round 1. -I drank a more water, Probably a Lot more actually. This time I drank a ton of tea thinking I could do that in place of water, which I don't know why I thought that but I now think that may have been contributing to my hunger and not losing as much. -I didn't use ANY of my regular beauty products or anything with oil in it. I used Crystal Deoderant, No perfume, No makeup, Jason Shampoo, Ivory Soap, special toothpaste etc. This time I used my regular deoderant, I used vaseline and an RX oinment for my dry hands, I used regular soap sometimes, I went for a mani/pedi and this time I let them use their products (Last time I brought my own lotion) I wore make up 2x. Got my hair done.... ALL things I did not do in Round 1. I feel like there are a few other things I'm forgetting but the above may have something to do with why I've had trouble losing. Ultimately the biggest issue for me this round has been HUNGER and I'm not really certain if any of the above except for the water could be to blame for that. And I can also say that the hunger and discomfort is what led me to things like cheating, or turning to tea or broth to feel like I had more "food". Not an excuse just saying. Anyway, what I'm saying is that I'm coming to terms with it and realizing this was not my round. But it's ok. And it's ok because I realize that I have come very far in my personal weight loss journey (certainly nothing like you women who have dropped 100+lbs ) But I'm actually quite happy at my current weight and with how I look. When I started my quest to lose the weight back in March, I weighed 196lbs, couldn't fit into a size 16 and felt absolutely miserable in my skin. I busted my butt for 4 months exercising 3-4 times a week and doing Atkins Induction. With that I managed to lose about 15 or so lbs but it was slow and REALLY hard. but I did it. Luckily I found HCG and dropped another 18lbs and by August I had lost my pregnancy weight and then some. My body is different now and that's what is hard for me, but I need to accept that I had a baby and my stomach is just not the same. But in reality, I look thin now, my legs are good, my arms look good, my face looks good. And it's not like I had a great stomach to start with. It was always a problem area and it's just something I'll have to work on through exercise and watching my carbs. I'm going to try and enjoy where I am now. It's a good feeling and a few more lbs won't make that big of a difference. Also I've finally realized that the scale is not everything. I bought another size 8 jeans today and that means something is working. I do believe I've slimmed down overall. I can see it. So I've lost inches! I'm smaller and I can wear my old clothing now and some things are even a little big. This has been a tough round between the hunger and the rash but It's ok. So I may or may not decide to make today my LID. Earlier today I was certain that today was my LID b/c I felt hungry and defeated, but... and this is embarassing to even say, and I hope I don't eat my words, but it's 9pm and normally I'm STARVING by now and feeling awful, and right now, for the first time this ENTIRE round, I feel "RIGHT" I currently feel the most "not hungry" I have felt yet. Imagine that? Figures that I finally resign myself to the fact that I'm done, and then I start to feel like maybe it IS finally working. Today was my third day on the 30unit dose so I suppose it's POSSIBLE that it's starting to work but I won't get ahead of myself. If for some reason this feeling stays through the evening, I may keep this going and see what happens. But if the hunger comes back, then I'm calling it. IF you've read all of this, you deserve a medal and a huge thank you from me. ![]() I genuinely appreciate the support I've gotten from this forum and all of you and could not do this without you! ![]() Last edited by Reddy; 09-15-2012 at 06:04 PM.. |

Reddy, yes, Simeons allows one tablespoon of FF milk a day, which a lot of people use in coffee.
Not sure where you got the idea anyone was saying it wasn't, unless it was about the "Biz" shakes we were talking about - Biz always (apparently) recommends low fat vs. non fat cottage cheese. Maybe that's what confused you? How are you doing today? I was reading the "what's on the menu today" thread and I thought you'd be reassured to hear there are people who have periods where they lose BETTER with a few more calories (just like on other diets, I guess). Anyway, thinking of you! Oh Wow. I started posting this while you were posting your last post. Sorry!!!! But I don't think it's any of those things you did differently. I think your big difference has been HUNGER. And that hasn't been right. Too bad you couldn't get a good pregnancy test reading. I know for certain that peeing on it will always be negative. I'm going to PRAY your new dose fixes everything! (BTW, I think 30 units is 150iu, what I'm getting.) And Reddy, guess what? My WL journey begin in February at about 189 lbs! We are so similar.

I haven't. I've heard a few things about it here but never looked into it and I'm not sure I understand what it is...Is that the thing where you eat all you want in an hour or something or no?

![]() I agree with you that the hunger has been the biggest factor here, but I also think there is something to be said about the water, or lack therof. I too PRAY that I've turned a corner. Wouldn't that be something? Just when I was about to give up, it started to work for me. Either way, TOM will be here in a few days which likely means stalls and then next weekend is that Baseball game so I don't expect much if I DO stay on. It's 9:15 and I'm hungry but not so hungry that I'm dying to eat my second fruit which is amazing. Like, what if it was just the dose this whole time? IDK but again, if I don't get the hunger tonight Like I've had for the past 2 weeks, I will keep on going. But if it comes back, I'm done for now. And yes, we are TWINS. 100%. I feel like I'd be lost with out you this round! ![]() |

I like your plan, girl. My dose, it turns out, was right all along. But remember, I got impatient and went down in dose, had one good day, thought it was the new 125iu dose... but it WASN'T. It was the 150iu dose finally KICKING IN. Then the next two days of the lower dose were the worst I had. so I went back to 150iu. Now that that dose is comfortably in my system, my hunger has been manageable. Not the wondrous full all day feeling I've heard about, but manageable. I just looked at a mixing chart, and sure enough 30 units is 150iu the way larger amounts of HCG are mixed. 25 units, by that same chart, was 125iu. My fingers are crossed for you.
And... 150's here I come!!! Last edited by buttah; 09-15-2012 at 06:33 PM.. |

This is the Atkins way. Fat Fast Challenge OR The modified way I made sure my fat % was over 80% a day. I tried to keep my carbs below 15grams, and then my protein low as well, below 25 grams. Kept calories around 1200. You can check out our modified thread here. My modified version of the fat fast 5.8lbs lost in less than 3 days!!!! Honestly, I felt so depleted before I did my modified fat fast. Once I got into it, all my sugar cravings were gone and I no longer felt starved. I still feel totally rejuvenated from it. I feel ready to get into my P2 again. It's easy to overdo it with the yummy stuff though.

I haven't decided how many days. My first "round" per the clinic ends a week from today. I can add on, and I probably will. I think it would be easier than P3, P4 and another round. But I too am waiting to see if the hunger situation is completely resolved. The hardest thing for me, other than hunger? I had gotten VERY good at dining out and dieting, but on HCG that's pretty much impossible. I miss having good food (fish and veggies, mostly) at restaurants with friends. Still, it would be easier to keep going at this point. I hope I can.
Today I tried on an expensive designer little black I dress I wore to a wedding 17 years ago, and haven't been able to fit into since. I couldn't believe it fit. It's one of the only things I saved from that long ago (due to the price). And I have some new skinny jeans that actually look "skinny" on me. A brand I wouldn't even dreamed of trying on before. Love it. |

Buttah, that's awesome that you were able to get into that dress. What an amazing feeling that must have been! And to be able to wear "skinny jeans" is not an easy task! Bet you're glad you saved that dress now!
As for the round, I think you should do exactly what you said, and keep going so long as you can and try and get close to goal. BUT if you decide to move into P3/P4 and maybe do another round later that's an option. Don't be so scared of maintenance. It's really not that hard and it's much more enjoyable than P2. Of course doing another round as the holidays are approaching might be difficult so maybe you ARE better to do it all now. You'll have ot see how you feel. I miss dining out to. So much. I looove eating out (who doesn't right?) And it's much easier to do that on P3. You can get a salad, a steak, fish, chicken, anything that isn't really carbs. So many more options. I can't wait to eat eggs for breakfast with cream in my coffee. I also reallly miss my SF Choc Covered Mocha Almonds! Manders how long do you do the fat fast for? Just one day? Sounds quite similar to P3 right? I didn't read too far into it yet... just a quick peek into that thread (thank you for the link) |

Reddy, I know this is going to sound crazy and anathema to the experiences of most people here, but holidays (and vacations and cruises, etc.) are really not hard for me. I NEVER gain during those times, because I am more vigilant about what I eat (although I do allow indulgences if they're worth it, but in moderation) and not stuffing myself than ever. (I'm far more likely to slip up on a "normal" day than those "special" days. I'm especially good at maintaining on vacations and have that down to a science. I know, it's crazy, but I do it. I walked around with these pregnancy pounds all these years, but I... did... not... gain. If HCG has done something to my body to harm that, I'll be super bummed!
Now life's horrible stresses? That's not so easy. If I can get those down, I'll have it made. I do miss half and half in my coffee!!! And olive oil w/ balsamic on my salads. I miss that more than anything "bad." Last edited by buttah; 09-15-2012 at 07:05 PM.. |

Well, if you do the strict fat fast, you eat 5 meals of 200 calories a day, comprised of at least 80% fat. So you could eat like 3 pieces of bacon for a meal, or 2 tablespoons of cream cheese, or 4 tablespoons of heavy whip cream, etc etc. You don't get to eat much, but it's very rich. Honestly, it was amazing. I loved it. I plan on doing it again once I reach 169.

![]() Morning everyone! I haven't read all your posts yet, but I hope everyone had a happy scale. Haven't weighed yet myself (trying not to, but coming in UNDER 500 calories yesterday, I'm just too dang curious). I have to say, I came to HCG expecting to see at least .5 down every day from the day before. Sadly mistaken on that front, but when I average out my losses, they are close to that I guess. Reddy, my biggest hope is that YOU woke up not hungry. Had a shopping experience yesterday, but I think it belongs more in my journal, so please check me out if you'd like. |

Morning ladies!! You've been pretty chatty!! I was out all day yesterday so I've read and tried to catch up, but forgive me for not doing personals for all those posts!
![]() Buttah-you sound good!! YAY! settling in and losing (average is what we all do, day to day is such a fluctuation). Reddy-take it day by day. If the hunger subsides you'll be able to finish. If it doesn't I'd advise you to finish the round anyway, up the calories to 1200+, try the ff, something. But from the research I've done there's trouble stabilizing if you stop in the middle. I also think you should be more aggressive w. your clinic. Modifications aside, the hunger should not be that strong at this point, ON the Rx!? Squeaky wheel it!! ![]() Mandy-nice ring ![]() Berta-nice losing!! Dawn-how's the restart going? I was out all day yesterday. Had a lovely day, hiking in perfect weather w. my fam and even ate out at one of our fav places!! I'm down 0.6 and finally back into the 140's!! Barely, but at least there!! Quite content and realigning my mindset to be happy with any weight that has 14 in the front of it!! ![]() Have a great day guys!

Buttah I did not wake up hungry but I really never do. I usually experience hunger around 2 or 3 and then it's usually really bad (read starving) in the evenings after 9pm.
Julie wooooooo hoo for 140's!!! Yay! So happy for you! I decided to take another shot today. Depending ont hunger later - Today may or may not be my LID. I sts so basically I'm down about 10lbs for my 15 day (so far) round and I can't complain too much about that. I'm only down 6.2 from LIW though - but like I said yesterday I'm pretty happy with my body and where I'm at right now so it will be what it will be.Photos were supposed to happen at 9 today but photog called that she was running late an bc of Lo's need for a nap we decide to push it to 1pm. Was hoping doing it first thing in the morning would mean its not so hot and also have my tummy less bloated but whatever. Buttah I think you should weigh! You're probably down and it will be motivating to see that!!! Last edited by Reddy; 09-16-2012 at 08:24 AM.. |

Down .4 as I posted in the other personality, er um, I mean thread. I think. I'm not sure where I am.
Reddy, maybe try not waiting until 2 or 3 to eat (if you are). Sometimes when you let hunger get ahead of you, you can never catch up (Robin's words, not mine) no matter what you do. Julie, congrats on the new (or old, but new again) decade! |

I am down 0.4 as well! I am doing well with THIS re-start. Thanks for asking Julie. So far so good, but it is only day #4. Ask me at day #8 LOL. I can do P2 for about a week and then I begin to wander......

Re-post from labor day thread...
Quickie post because I'm on my phone but I just HAD to share that I'm not hungry at all today!!! It's 3 o'clock and all I've had is my grilled chicken and I'm still not hungry! Granted I been really busy today with the pictures but still! Just now sitting down to have some grapefruit! I'm totally amazed! This is exactly how I felt last time and what I've been waiting for! Obviously my dose was off! If only I could've figured this out sooner... but at least I did figure it out before I quit!!! |
