Ok so these spinach chips are GOOD!

Wow.

Really easy and really a nice change. I'm trying so hard to find more veggies I can work with so now I can add spinach to the mix.

You just lay them on Parchment paper on a baking sheet. Season lightly (i did a few light sprays of braggs, some salt pepper, onion powder and adobo) and bake for about 10 mins (or til they are crisp)

Have to do it in 3 batches to use up my alloted spinach but yum.

Reddy, as for my dose, it turns out 150iu was way better than 125, and I may even need more.

You're still just above 125, right? or 133iu? I don't have the chart in front of me equating units to doses. Not that we're the same person, but maybe we are.

I'm not sure how it converts either but I do think It will be worth a try at 30 units. I will message her later to discuss. Just afraid it could further flare up this rash ya know?

As for the oil, I tend to agree on the topical thing, but I always figured better safe than sorry. In this case, it's worth it to do what I need to do to get rid of this rash so yeah, I'll try something.

I usually have coconut oil but i'm out right now.

I'll either buy some or try the cream I used on my son.

I agree and think the topical absorption thing is wrong. I did my first round w.o. any makeup or lotion and looked as bad as I felt!! Now I stick w. my regular routine and do just as well!!

Reddy-if you're still hungry I'd up the dose. And that cream (used it on my dd's) is magic!! Def use it!!

Buttah- glad you're down and hunger is better!! Woohoo!!

Just had my apple and some water. I was so sweaty a bit ago. REally odd!! Silly body. Doing something weird these days!!

mmm that sounds sooo yummy I will make some tonight ! Maybe you can do the same with Kale?

Hi Julie! I'm trying to use hairspray hoping it wont affect losses... remember our first rounds it was like 30 bad hair days and dry lips ahhhh!!!
Still considering face moisturizer I'm so worried about it though...

Yeah I'm sure you could do it with Kale too!!! It was yummy and nice for something a bit different!

I agree the detox tea probably made things worse but I hadn't gone in almost 5 days so I needed it! I usually do it once a week on this diet because it helps me get rid of things and helps break my stalls which this did.

The rash seems to be somewhat calm at the moment but we'll see. It's still there. The vaseline did seem to help so thanks again for that suggestion.

Well I am certainly EXTREMELY happy this morning!!! I lost 3lbs That was my load weight for both days But my LDW was 244 then the first day of PH3 I was up to 246 and stayed there the eight weeks or so. Almost in VWT

I STS today . VLCD2 and I STS!! I suppose walking+beef cabbage soup= STS. Oh well. Today is a new day. Gonna' stick to plan and ride it out. It's just this first week is the only time I really lose real lbs. KWIM? I was really hoping to be to LDW by week 2. There's still time, but I feel fat and full and I only had coffee. Gonna' take it a day at a time.

On a positive note my temps are holding steady at 97.7 (basal temps, thanks for clarifying that Buttah) which is really good for me!! That's a plus!

Another note that may help some: Robin had told me about Vitamin Water Zero, but I was mostly avoiding it due to the 4 carbs (though 0 calories) per bottle. It's loaded with vitamins, B12 and electrolytes, though, and she's found it's helpful for patients. Well, last night I woke up in the middle of night with a pounding headache, and for some reason, Vitamin Water Zero sounded good (and I had only had one "bread" anyway that day). I drank a tall glass, mixed with water. Voila, woke up this morning with headache GONE! There was something in there that my body needed.

I'm out of injections at 150iu, so I've either got to wait until the clinic opens at 10, or do one 125 syringe + .05 ml from a second 125 syringe. Not even sure that's possible, but I'm going to take a look.

Reddy - try A & D ointment? That always works for rashes for me. Vaseline and a bit of medicine in there.

Oh, I'm having trouble finding ground grass-fed beef less than 93% fat. Do you guys have trouble?

I have always used 93% lean beef ever since I started.It has not hurt me any I can find 97% lean but I don't like it nearly as well as the 93% as for grass fed nope, never have found any, and probably couldn't aford to buy it if I did

Hi everyone,
Hope you have room for one more hcg-drop out LOL I dropped out and failed miserably on more than one round over the past year due to various life stressors...something had to give, and so it was the 'diet'. Thankfully, I haven't put anything on.

I'm on day 6 of vlcd and am determined to get through it (homeopathic drops) successfully!

Wow Congrats Berta! 3lbs is awesome!!

Well you don't want to put all the spinach on at once, so just enough to cover it. I had to do it in 3 batches to use up all my spinach.

But you have to use parchment paper or they will stick. So you spread out the spinach leaves on the paper, and then you season however you would like. Go light on seasoning b/c a little goes a long way since the leaves shrink.

I sprayed them lightly with Bragss, salt, pepper, Onion Powder and Adobo.

PUt in over at 350 for about 10 mins. Check to see if they are crisp. If not do it for another 2 mins or so. Easy peasy.

So I want to share a little victory over here.

Just received a pair of jeans I ordered online. I ordered one in a 10 and one in an 8. I knew an 8 was a bold move but I figured since I'm doing this, they may fit by the end of the round. Well I tried on the 8 and they FIT! A bit snug but they buttoned! Granted they are from Old Navy and they ON tends to run on the big side but I"ll take it!

When I started on my WL journey 6 months ago, I couldn't fit into a 14, or even a 16. This feels really good and they look good too! Woo hoo.

Reddy - what is adobo? And for that matter, what if I don't have parchment paper (or know what it is)? How do I make it not stick? And woo hoo on the jeans! I've gotten into a couple 8's myself. (Although when I weighed less than this as a twenty-something, I couldn't wear an 9 to save my life, so I'm suspicious of sizing. BUT STILL!)

Larasuz - I was told Kale is not okay to eat.

Everyone - do you eat extra lean ground turkey breast or not? My clinic just told me why they don't recommend it - something in turkey can interact with HCG and make you retain water. Robin allows it, but my call with her today was postponed, so I didn't get to ask her anything. I've made turkey chili and had it three times (did I stall, maybe a little, but it could've been other things), with two in the freezer. I'd hate to waste them, and it's so yummy.

I don't eat turkey. It's not on Simeon's and I don't use other sources. Many do, and I'm sure they'll do fine. I'm ok w. eating what I already have been (chicken, beef, shrimp). I haven't done eggs either. I think I'm sensitive to them. We'll see. If I get bored enough I may give them another whirl to see if they still work.
And 9's are jr's so they'll be WAY smaller than an 8. Crazy Jr's sizing. Even numbers (misses') I can wear a smaller #-like a 9 in Jr's and an 8 or 6 in misses. Odd. But c'est la vie!!

Made 6 burgers, 3 servings of steak and 4 shrimp skewers on the grill today . After removing the tails 20 little shrimps were a serving. works for me!! A side salad and lunch was yummy!! I've got a burger slated for dinner. And some boiled radishes to along with it. Hope the scale is nicer to me tomorrow. No exercise today!

Nah, no worries. There's nothing in it that could stall you. Resin, alcohol (evaporates) chemicals. Not oily at all. You'll be fine. And you'd do well to moisturize while you lose. Our poor skin in this dry climate!!

The beef may not hurt you. I eat it at least three times a week sometimes more

today is vlcd 2 starting weight was 171
I lost weight on my 3rd load day to 170.4
This morning I'm happily at 167.5 which is lower than my last LIW of 168

Hunger level has been good

Julie, I think I'm going to hold off on the turkey for a while, but wouldn't you know I just pre-made a bunch of chili with it, and it's sitting there, waiting to be eaten. My absolute favorite P2 meal so far (well, that and the chicken curry with fennel). I do wonder, though, since you clearly stick pretty closely to Simeons, do you worry about the fattiness of the beef, and the amount of beef, in a Wendy's burger patty? I would be scared to eat anything I haven't weighed and cooked myself. But I'm a newbie.

Ok I don't really know how to explain Adobo. My friend told me she used it on everything for HCG so I got some. At first when I opened it, I was really turned off by the smell but decided to try it. Tastes NOTHING like it smells. I was nervous b/c I don't like many spices, but to me it's kind of like a salt or something. I usually use garlic and onion salt and the adobo is almost like a variation of that if that makes any sense. LIttle goes a long way with it too. But I have ended up using it on everything.

I use extra lean turkey breast. It didn't cause me problems last round.. can't say for this one but I use it in my P2 Chilli and make turkey burgers some days for lunch.

How is your hunger so far today? Mine hasn't been too bad. I did get pretty hungry around 3 or so, and I knew there was no way I'd last until Dinner so I made one of those Coffee Slushie things and it TOTALLY filled me up. 2 Shots of Espresso, Ice and Stevia. It's allowed, it's yummy and it's filling!

Menu for today:
Coffee and Tea
Turkey Burger
Spinach "Chips"
Half Grapefruit
Lemon Tilapia
Coffee Shake thing

And right now I'm waiting for my onion to cook in the oven and I"m going to have my first try at Onion Soup. Found a recipe in the recipe thread.

Amazingly although I haven't had my veggie yet and it's 8:15 I don't feel too hungry so I'm really happy about that. Still get to have my soup AND another fruit before I go to bed so I'd say I'm doing well.

How are you doing today in the hunger department? Better I hope!

I don't eat turkey. It's not on Simeon's and I don't use other sources. Many do, and I'm sure they'll do fine. I'm ok w. eating what I already have been (chicken, beef, shrimp). I haven't done eggs either. I think I'm sensitive to them. We'll see. If I get bored enough I may give them another whirl to see if they still work.
And 9's are jr's so they'll be WAY smaller than an 8. Crazy Jr's sizing. Even numbers (misses') I can wear a smaller #-like a 9 in Jr's and an 8 or 6 in misses. Odd. But c'est la vie!!

Made 6 burgers, 3 servings of steak and 4 shrimp skewers on the grill today . After removing the tails 20 little shrimps were a serving. works for me!! A side salad and lunch was yummy!! I've got a burger slated for dinner. And some boiled radishes to along with it. Hope the scale is nicer to me tomorrow. No exercise today!
I don't know if the Adobo has MSG, I can look for you though. THe one I have is made by Goya. It's found in the "ethnic foods" aisle.

I haven't done eggs yet either although Whites are on my list. I love eggs too but I'll eat plenty of them in P3.

Funny that you think ON runs small. I think it depends on the cut and the item. I ordered another pair of jeans and I couldn't come CLOSE to getting on the 10. I'd probably need those in a 14! But these others I love are an 8. So everything there seems to be cut differently. But I'll take the 8 and run with it! Feels good.

Another small victory today was when the lady who cleans my house said "What happened? You are so skinny" She doesn't speak English well but I took it as a compliment! Nice to hear it and to see people noticing!

I have to get together some before and after pics one of these days!

Julie as much as you want to do it, stay away from the exercise. You KNOW it gives you trouble. I have high hopes for you and the scale tomorrow!

How awesome that you lost while Loading. Color me jealous! Keep it up!

So I went for a Mani Pedi today for the pics tomorrow and I let them use their lotion and stuff. Last time I brought my own oil free stuff. I hope you all are right about that stuff.

Rash is still there but isn't itching me too badly today. I am using the vaseline on it and it seems to be tame. But it's on my inner arms, my inner thighs and behind my knees. No fun.

Ok that's all from me gotta go check on my soup!

And thanks for thinking of me as skinny. I have a bad perception of myself for sure. My co-workers think I am crazy for doing the hcg. LOL.

Oh, just read about the rash. Totally sounds like detox to me. I have heard others suggest aloe for the itching. Maybe Aveeno has one of the oatmeal lotions that is oil free. I know that I suggest that to my hubby when he has a rash like that. He and my boys have eczema. They get itchy skin all the time. The doc actually prescribed something that works wonders. But it has peanut oil in it. Something we are not to have LOL.

I love the apple day I do it IF I am stalled out for 5 days or longer. So if you wake up tomorrow and stay the same---do it! The day I do mine, I start off by having a liter of water and a cup or 2 of coffee before noon. Then when noon comes I start the count down 12 hours. Then I start up my water/coffee at noon the next day. For that 12 hours I have no water, tea or coffee, just apples. How simple can that be?? I love the apple days for how simple it really is. I usually can only get down 5 apples, but if I need that 6th one I make sure I have it around. I have done a few in my day and do well with them. It gets my weight loss going again, I always lose with it as well.

I hope you lose tomorrow so you don't have to do one, but if you do end up doing one I am sure you will do well!!

buttah - yep, I know about basal therm and have one that I've rarely used but might start daily checking, I haven't tried turkey yet myself, glad you're down and the hunger is better

berta/julie - thanks for the reassurance about the beef, so far I've had a lot of it so I hope it doesn't cause any problems

lara - nice drop, I totally agree about the caffeine - when you're giving up everything else you need something , interesting about the setpoints so I'll have to keep that in mind

pae - the more, the merrier - WELCOME

adelinesdream - nice loss

reddy - glad you're down and hope the rash clears up quickly, sorry you're still struggling with hunger, those spinach chips sound really good, awesome about the jeans - I saved a pair of favorite jeans from many years ago that I hope to get back into one of these days but it's going to take several rounds

julie - I cooked a pile of food on Sunday and froze portions. Then I also tenderized and marinated some meat before freezing. I think Sundays will turn into my prep day. That way I can have all the food I need ready for packing my lunch since I'm usually pressed for time in the mornings.

Reddy, I'm okay. I was feeling shaky this afternoon so I nibbled at the fennel (raw) that I'm using in my dinner. Had a big glass of water, and now I'm full. Haven't had dinner, so I guess that's way more typical, no?

Can you link to the French Onion recipe? That thread is so long!

Dawn, I was thinking of you all day yesterday. Will look at the pics first chance I get.

Buttah here is the Onion Soup Recipe.

Onion is in the oven now!


Onion Soup

1 Vidalia onion
2 c. beef broth
3.5 ounces lean steak
1t. garlic powder
1t. onion salt
1t. pepper
2 Melba toast
Slice onion with an apple slice to make wedges and to open up the onion. Season the onion and place it on top of a foil sheet. Add 1⁄4 c beef broth, and wrap it up tightly, and place in a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. You want to make sure the onion is not too soft you want it a little firm. Serve in a bowl with 2 cups of beef broth and 2 Melba toast.

Two melba toast is not protocal, I would use only one

Sorry to hear you're having shakes. Again doesn't seem normal to me. I hope that stops soon!

One way to keep the apple day interesting is to do different things with the apple.

One thing I've seen is Baked Apple Chips. Another is to slice it and putt Toffee Flavored Stevia on it for "carmel apples" and then you can make an apple sauce too!

Forgot to mention that this morning I was down 2.5 lbs. That brings me to down 6 of the 6.5 that I went up during loading. Hopefully tomorrow I begin to lose some real weight.

I didn't do things like I should today though so I hope it doesn't impact anything. For breakfast I was in too much of a hurry and skipped the coffee and just had apple slices. For lunch I had lemon pepper chicken and a few radishes. I didn't eat the apple slices I had packed b/c I felt full. I needed to take my second dose of pellets but then got busy and next thing I knew it was almost 5PM and I was so hungry! Then I realized I had foolishly had some water so I needed to wait again to take the pellets. For dinner I had the meatloaf with onion again. Now that is all gone and I'm a bit relieved since it does get repetitive.

I need to now wait again to take my last dose since I just had water again

I bought Adobo "Sin Pimento" (without pepper)

Ingredients say:

Salt, Granulated Garlic, Oregano and Tumeric

See I knew it reminded me of Garlic Salt. That's basically what it is. Lol.
