Reddy, don't stuff yourself on the steak, though (that's never good). Just eat what you need and I bet you'll have a way better "correction" (both scale and leptin-wise) than if you uncomfortably stuff.

Do you have any Yerba Mate tea? It's a great appetite suppressant and helps digestion, as goes Green Tea.

Reddy--I always make a 1 lb steak and eat most of it BY MYSELF!! My kids and DH have been trained to not touch my steak until I tell them I am done. I may not finish just a bite or 2. I am small, comparatively and eat a big honking steak LOL. And I add butter to it!! Lots of butter.

Oh yeah, I could totally eat like 2lbs of steak if I wanted to! I swear I would win any eating contest out there!

Hubby bought two 16oz steaks (NY Strip) but by the time he trimmed the fat they were both about 10oz instead.

I ate it and was still a bit hungry so my doll of a husband gave me some of his and said he'd eat something else. So I probably had around 12-14oz of steak and it was good.

I don't care for tomatoes so I tried to make a stewed tomato soup kind of like I would make P2 chilli but without the meat. It wasn't very good but I ate about half to fill me up.

Right now I feel ok. I'm hoping this evening will go fast and that I'll be down at least 2lbs tomorrow.

Leaving in the morning to drive to Miami. Will eat High Fat High Protein no carb for the next few days and hope for the best.

FYI--you don't have to trim the fat off your steaks when you do correction day. The fattier the meat, the better actually.

Reddy, I do worry a bit about "high fat" so soon after P2. Why not just try high protein and lots of low carb veggies with a little, or just enough, fat? That's how both my clinic and "Biz" ramp people into fats. I know you had a bit of a head start with your baseball game, but still.

Just a thought?

Yeah I just can't eat fat. I don't like it. I love NY Strip Steak and we eat it often but we always trim it.

I did have some butter on it per your suggestion!

I had a decaf coffee with cream a little while ago to try and satisfy my sweet tooth.

I'm hungry but I'm managing. It hasn't been that bad.

I just posted some progress photos in my profile here... I want to post more recent ones but I am having issues uploading. I also wish there was a way to organize the order of the photos to make them be chronological!

Yeah, I agree. I'm not going to go nuts with fat esp when I'm still stabilizing.

I'll probably have eggs for breakfast before I get on the road. Focus on High Protein and low carb.

It wasn't me who suggested butter on the steak, but wow, that does sound yummy.

It's weird, until HCG I'd had beef maybe three times in the past six to eight months. But now I'm eating tons of it because it keeps me satisfied longer. I'm sure I'll go back to my fish and chicken ways once in maintenance.

WOW! Nice job Reddy! That's a successful steak day! That's the only one that works for me. I put butter and olive oil then I blend the tomato and make salsa out of it and out it on top of my steak, yum.

Well I;m .2 over where I should be but I went to the dr yesterday and I have to take antibiotics for the ankle swelling from my bug bite. I'm trying to eat eggs all day so I will see what happens. Glad im on 3 cant imaging being on p2 with all this business. So I'm not that hungry maybe I will luck out and loose a few pounds lol.

Reddy - on that awesome cd loss!

Lara - Sorry the bug bite is still bugging you! Honestly, I usually do not sweat a 0.2-0.5 over the window. That is just one good pee away from being in, kwim?

Well, I weighed myself this morning. Still comfortably in my window by 0.8 and back to my exact weight of Saturday morning. Sunday I was down a little but totally cool with sitting right around LIW+1. Still got all my fingers and toes crossed that this means stabilization for me! Another trip to Mexico starting Saturday and a whole lotta drinking and eating and travel. I honestly am just going to do the best that I can. P4 officially starts tomorrow but I'm hanging in there with mostly P3 eating until I get back from my trip. I have plenty of time to experiment! Wearing a super cute outfit that I bought 15 years ago--and it's BIG on me!

Have a fabulous day everyone!

Congrats on the egg cd loss Lara and yay for being in Window Shelby!

I can't weigh today as I'm at my parents and don't have a scale but I was very well behaved yesterday considering I was limited due to traveling and hospital food. I had eggs for breakfast before I got on road. For Lunch I stopped and got 2 cheeseburgers and ate without bun. Dinner I got a cob salad from
au Bon Pain in the hospital. Then I was hungry again around 10 and we were
Still there so I went down to ABP again and the choices for "dessert" we're pastries and stuff and it was hard to resist but I ended up eating a garden salad for "dessert" bc I was hungry and had no other choice.

Hopefully the scale will be kind when I get back on it!

This morning I have had a small cheat bc the only creamer my mom has for coffee is international delight flavored. Not great but I was up until 3am bc I couldn't sleep and I need coffee!

Well see how it all plays out on scale when i get home.

Off to hosptial to see my Nana!

Nana seems to be doing a lot better thank you! They may be moving her out of IcU tonight and if she remains stable- she may get to go home in a few days. I am going to drive back home in the morning bc I need to get back to my son, husband and business and if she's doing well I can.

I'm relieved that she's doing well and on the mend.

If anyone from the other threads is reading this sorry I haven't posted its hard from my phone! I am reading when I can and will catch up when I get home!!

Taryl - Hope everything is well with you and baby!

Reddy - awesome work on the control in cr@ppy circumstances! Good luck to your Nana.

Lara - awesome to be back in the window.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not too much to report here. A little over 48 hours til my trip. I'm busy weeding out what I absolutely have to take vs. what I want to take. It's a 5 day trip but there's all this dang scuba gear... Anyway, another super high fat day yesterday yielded a nice 0.6 drop on the scale so again down to within a pound of LIW. Today is my first official day of P4 so I looked back on my P3 to see where I needed cd's etc. I had a few days out of the window after my wine trip but a cd and a couple of HF days got me back into it. Another day that (I assumed) I was out of the window and another cd followed by some HF days also did the trick. All in all, not a bad P3--2 cd's and a pretty healthy, steady hold between 140 and 143, which is perfect and exactly where I wanted to end up. I am going to tiptoe into P4 and hope that Mexico doesn't throw me for a complete loop. Luckily (?) it's a relatively short trip so I should be able to keep it under control. And I DO need a drink on a beach and some scuba time to work the kinks out of my back and shoulders right now!
Hi to all who are missing! Have a good one peeps!
Oh and Lara - I don't think mushrooms have many carbs at all. They should be fine for P3/4. I just looked it up. 6oz of raw mushrooms has 5.3g of carbs and 1.6g of fiber...
Thanks Shel, I made mushroom soup! I originally wanted to do a pot roast and some recipes all for Cream of Mushroom soup so I thought I would make my own and it turned out really good...
I put the mushrooms in the food processor, then sauteed in a pan with some olive oil added butter, and some beef broth, add salt pepper thyme...
then used the hand blender to blend it and added it to the crock pot with a seared chuck roast yummy! You could put cream too but I was afraid it would curdle, but it tasted amazing just on its own...
Lara - Sometimes if I do that kind of meal, I will add sour cream to the sauteed mushrooms (or sometimes tomato/onion). The first comes out very like a stroganoff (with dill and pepper--YUM!) and the second like a paprikash (with paprika--YUMYUM!). It avoids the whole curdling factor...
I had mushroom soup today for dinner! It was from Au Bon pain here in the hospital and it was good. Hopefully not terrible! Scared to see the scale on Friday ESP bc I have a social event Sat that could mean a few drinks so I need to be in and ideally under LIW before that.
Shelby have an amazing trip! I love diving! Where in Mexico are you going?
There's a man made dive spot Im
Fairly certain in Mexico with statues I think that looks amazing and I want to dive it one day!
Diving sounds like so much fun! Is that one of your main hobbies, Shelby? I noticed some of your other pictures over the years were of various trips involving SCUBA.
Reddy, the mushroom soup probably does have some starch in it as a thickener, but I'd be surprised if it was too bad. Most mushroom soup recipes are not roux based, which is a good thing for P3/P4.
Congrats Lara on STS! Funny how that's a good thing in P3 but such a bummer in P2!!!
I just got back from Miami, my grandmother was moved out ICU so that is good. I haven't faced the scale and although I was really good while I was down there, I messed up this morning.
I was up at 6:30 to get on the road and ran to starbucks to get coffee. I was hungry and felt a little nauseous so I wanted to eat something. They don't have many good low carb choices but I really blew it with my choice of a pumpkin muffin!
I've been craving pumkin in a ridiculous way and gave into my craving. I'm sure it will cause me some scale trouble but hopefully I won't be out of the window. Tomorrow is "judgement day" lol!
Today I will eat cleanly for the rest of the day and drink lots of water and hope for the best!
About to have lunch. Garden Salad with Grilled Chicken from Chick Fil A
So guess what? Now I have a candida infection (in the worst place if you know what I mean) from the antibiotics I took from the bug bite.
Now I'm ready to cheat. If there was a bowl of chocolate pudding in front of me I think that I would eat it all. Dunno why chocolate pudding sounds so soothing to me right now. OMG. I think that I will not finish this egg day.
I am going to Isla Mujeres, right where those statues are! (if I am thinking of the same ones!) The Museo Submarino is a very shallow dive (<30 feet) right off the shore with concrete statues made by a local artist (or artists?) and sunken for divers and snorkelers to explore. I haven't gone diving there because it is known as a beginner dive but if I end up having some time, I may do it anyway from the shore. In any case, I hope I get to see the whale sharks again and do some good drift dives along the reefs. They are amazing there!
Yes, Taryl, I am an advanced diver and ever since I got certified, I have spent most vacations looking for good places to get underwater. I used to alternate beach vacations with "cultural" vacations (Europe, Washington DC, etc.) but lately it's been hard to drag me away from the ocean!
Lara, so sorry about the candida. UGH! If you are having a pudding craving, have you ever made yourself a whipping cream mousse? That usually does it for me when I am having a craving. Put a cup of whipping cream in a small food processor or blender. Add a dash of vanilla, 1-2t cocoa powder, and some sweetener of choice. Blend until thick--usually no more than 30 seconds, scraping the sides as necessary. Sometimes I add a few strawberries for strawberry chocolate mousse in the middle. Try it. I doubt you'll be disappointed. And hey, if you can have coffee with cream on cd's, why not just...cream?
I had a lovely evening last night with the dude. A nice dinner, a couple of negative calorie desserts , some good red wine... Not a whole lot of sleep but hey...that's what coffee is for! Hope everyone is well. Countdown to Mexico!
Reddy - you should try to make a sugar free pumpkin cheesecake or cheesecake bars if you are craving pumpkin (instead of pumpkin muffins! ).
