Hey everyone,

I've been MIA for a few days because we lost our internet connection. It feels so weird when that happens. But now we're back up and running. Yay!

I've got three VLC days down and I am down 2.5 pounds. I am struggling with hunger and wanting to eat bad stuff already! Yikes! But I think it's because of major stress. It's so hard to resist comfort food when there is so much stress in your life. But so far, I've been able to hang in there. Just 17 more days to go!

Yeah esp since my other fav p2 recipe p2 chilli causes me stalls too. Tomato makes me stall.

Sooooo sick of eating just celery and asparagus. Need to find some spinach recipes or somehing!

What stalled me in the P2 chili was that I was using too much of the spices. They all add calories. I bet if you cut down in the amounts of spices to like a quarter or half teaspoon of each, chili will be your friend again.

And aren't cucumbers on protocol? Also, a romaine or raw spinach salad with grilled chicken, apple or strawberry slices, and sugar free raspberry vinaigrette is really yummy too.

The spices? Really? I assumed it was the tomato!! I may experiment with treating tomato as a fruit serving - tried that once at the end of my last round and didn't stall as much! But maybe I will cut down on spice too!

Sadly I don't like cucumbers. I wish I did!!! I have yet to make a salad on P2 bc I was not wanting to use any WF stuff or anything not on protocol. (doing broth felt very rogue)

Hoping this will be my last round so I need to maximize my losses!

I really want to eat that "ramen" cabbage again darnit!

Reddy - it could also be that your body is just catching up. There are days where you just STS, regardless of what you eat. Try the cabbage again later. If it stalls you again then you might have something but don't give it up entirely just yet...

I also eat endive, bok choi and Chinese cabbage in very similar ways to the cabbage (same spices, just different veggies) and have good luck with it making a very satisfying meal. I also don't think broth, as long as it is sugar/starch free is off protocol. If made right, it's just veggies, meat and water, all of which are on plan.

JMHO

p.s. Vanna is right about the spices. Those are often the culprit.

I agree, it could just be that I lost almost 8 lbs from the first two days of loading so maybe it's normal that i STS today. I hope so. I hope it's not the cabbage. I'd like to have the cabbage again today but I'm also considering having Chili tonight and I figure I shouldn't have Tomato AND Cabbage in the same day or I won't know which is the culprit. Maybe I'll do Cabbage again today and see what happens and save the Chili for tomorrow night so I can really test the cabbage.

As for the broth, I didn't make it myself. I bought it. It does appear to have a TINY bit of sugar in it but it's the last ingredient listed. It only has 5cals per serving. I bought College in Fat Free Low Sodium Beef Broth.

I am going to take a photo of stats/ ingredients so you guys can tell me if you think it would be an issue. Keep in mind I only used like 3/4 of a cup yesterday too.

Lastly, are there certain spices that cause more problems than others?

I typically season everything with Garlic and Onion Powder, Salt and Pepper and Adobo. When I make the chili I add Chili Powder (not that much) and when I did the cabbage yesterday I put in some ginger powder.

Reddy--you are too funny!! LOL. I think you are ok. I STS yesterday too. It was my 4th VLCD. I didn't mind not losing because I know it will come off. I have to catch up because I lost well the other VLCDs. Just keep on keeping on and do NOT analyze too much too soon. If you change too many things you won't know what held you up---IF ANYTHING was holding you up. Wait until you are having a few days of STS. Just do NOT stress out because that WILL cause weight gain. I use the same broth--used it just yesterday and I lost today. You will be fine. Just keep repeating....I will be OK. I will be OK. I will be OK. And throw a few deep breaths in there too!! You are doing just great!!!!

I agree with Dawn, you sound like I did at the beginning.I was so over thinking everything. Just relax this Plan works. You have up days and down days.It WILL come OFF! And remember it is POUNDS & INCHES.

I have cabbage on PH2 I even use butter spray ICBINB on it.But YMMV. Everyone is so different.

As for the broth I try to get the kind with no MSG that is important. But I do drink it too, it seems to helop me not get hungry. Although I havenl;t had any hunger since starting RX HCG. I get mine from ALDIS so I don't know if you are familiar with that store in your area or not but it is Fit N Active and no MSG. It has I think 10 cal per cup? I would have to look to be certain. But I know it isn't much. I use the beef in my PH2 chili.

It is good that you are checking to see though because if we add to much it can cause a gain. So far I haven't had anything make me gain unless I cheated.

I will be loading Sunday and Monday so I will be here really soon

I have so much to report. First, I had a Skype session with Robin Woodall, author of Weight Loss Apocalypse. There's more info in my WL journal below. Best money I ever spent.

To deal with the hunger issue I've been writing about, she had me eat a smidge more protein (which I was kind of already doing here and there, so it was nice just to have that validated) and based on what I told her about my past few days, she said my issue (not getting enough Leptin, to be technical, but if you haven't read her book you'll have no idea what I'm talking about) was due to either insufficient loading (she advises 3 days, especially for someone who has been doing intermittent fasting as I was RIGHT before my first load day), lack of sleep (horrible until last night) or a dose issue.

She was clear that feeling as shaky/jittery as I was on HCG is NOT how it's supposed to work, that I was too much in starvation mode and needed to eat to raise my Leptin levels.

Anyway, this probably all makes no sense to most of you, BUT...

It worked. Or the sleep I got worked. OR just talking to her worked. I don't know what it was. But today my hunger is SO MUCH more manageable!!!

HOWEVER, I did a silly thing. I lowered my dose today (by squirting the proper tiny amount out of my pre-loaded syringed) to 125iu. So very possibly, maybe, it could be that. But according to my doc and everyone else, a dosage change takes closer to three days to take affect.

So I'm wondering. Tomorrow, should I just go back to the 150iu (assuming that all I ever needed to do was wait, sleep, and perhaps the extra teeny bit of protein a couple of days)? Or should I stick with 125iu?

Does a dose change (and mind you, I DID NOT skip a day of injections to see how I felt) work that fast?

I may not get invited to your parties anymore! hahaha (tongue in cheek) but this is a broth I would pass. Dextrose, soy hydro stuff, MSG, etc...too many ingredients my body reacts to in a bad way. I buy Pacific Low Sodium in a pinch. It has 10 calories and here are the ingredients. Chicken broth, chicken flavor, cane sugar, yeast extract, onion powder and rosemary extract.
But! You may not be as sensitive as me and will do fine on it.

Dose changes can be instant. You should KEEP it at 125. I think you will know in a few days if THAT works! I am soooo glad you finally got a hold on whatever it was that was causing hunger. My sneaking suspicion is that you had a too high a dose. We all suggested that. Dr Simeons' had everyone dose at 125IU. Man, woman, child no matter what their weight, no matter how much they wanted to lose......EVERYONE got 125 IU in his clinic.

That is my advice!

How awesome! I am glad you felt better. I do .125 so I am no help on helping you make a decision about your doses. You could go back to .150 and see how you do

Excited for you! Thank you for sharing too.

Dawn and Berta I realize I'm over analyzing and panicking etc... I do this every time.

WHne I went into P3 I freaked out and desperately missed P2, then I got into a grove and was doing great. Now I'm missing P3... never satisfied. I just really want to make this round count.

Stevie, Is Cane Sugar not an issue? I guess I will try and find a better broth option... I don't want to use anything that will give me issues. I would LOVE to be one of those people who could sip on broth all day on this b/c i LOVE soup. But I'm scared to do that because I don't want to end up finding out the hard way that it's causing problems.

Yeah, I know Dr. S had everyone on that dose, although he implies he used up to 200iu for some. The clinic I'm going through swear they've had the best luck with 150iu. I wonder if they have mostly really skinny people, since I'm in a very trendy part of LA? LOL. I'm neither enormous nor really skinny, I suppose.

I used O Organics broth a couple times the past few days, and it SAVED me (well, nothing saved me, but it was close). It's very clean, 15 calories a cup.

Swanson's has all kinds of crap in it - I know that.

It is so minimal and I use it in a pinch since I make my own broth. Lets get you to make your own! lol - but I will take cane sugar over the other yuckie ingredients - especial;y MSG as I get all sweaty and weirded out on it. lol

Down 2.4lbs this morning! This is especially good b/c it means the cabbage did not stall me!!!

Hoping I'll be down another lb tomorrow so I can hit "virgin" HCG territory! Would LOVE to see the 150's by next week!

HOpe you're all having a good day and saw good numbers on the scale this morning!
