I order the 8 grilled nuggets, side salad with fat free honey mustard dressing. Sometimes I get an unsweet tea and add my own sweetener, or have just water to drink. That is my lunch. I do skip the fruit, but the fruit cup offered is mixed fruit and you cannot have that on plan. So I just go without. |

Wait, don't fat free dressings typically have sugar or carbs in them? (Except Walden) Is that protocol, Dawnyama? No judgement, just curious if I'm missing something.

Vinegar and mustard, lemon juice for me! Having said all that, I'm a a big fan of WHATEVER GETS YOU THROUGH! And that includes Franken-anything, because nothing is scarier than weighing too much, right? I've already given myself an extra ounce of protein, twice, but kept my calories under 500. I also think if Dr. S were around today, he'd be okay with things like Miracles Noodles (the ones with zero anything, soluble fiber) and would have found a better grain/bread than Grissini's and Melba's. He might have even realized we don't need those, period, and given us more protein for the same caloreis. I think that's why it's so tempting for all of us to guess what he would have changed. But again, go girl with what works! I'm new at this and just wanted to get clarity. Thanks.

Yeah! Looking forward to another person on the thread! Enjoy your week Berta!
Buttah, was thinking about your hunger. What veggies are you eating? Last round I used cucumbers on my hungry days and they were very filling and you can eat a ton of them for the calories. I would slice a whole cuke and marinate it in vinegar, braggs, garlic, salt and pepper and use it for sides. Delish, crunchy and filling. Perfection. |

I did cucumbers the first day for lunch, then cabbage for dinner. I've done that, spinach and twice had tomatoes in a chili recipe. Oh, and asparagus. STicking to the Simeon's original veggies so far.
Yesterday, I made a chicken/cabbage/dijon stir fry that was HUGE and so satisfying, so I'm planning on doing that for dinner tonight. I wish there was a "free" allowance with celery or cucumbers; so far trying not to add them if they're not my official veggie for the meal. But I read that some people snack on whatever their meal veggie was, calories permitting. |

Well, I talked to the doc at my clinic, told her about my hunger (which was really horrible this morning by 10am or so, then still bad after I ate some P2 sirloin chili (thanks to verb queen, I think), and it was only 11:30. She mentioned trying eating an apple in the morning (I've been having grapefruit), and I told her, frankly, that just fruit in the morning has always made me hungrier faster, even pre-HCG. I also told her I'd already had an extra ounce of protein a couple of times (staying within 500 calories), and it helped a little. Then she suggested the various recommended teas, all of which I've tried and am still drinking... Finally, I humored her and had half an apple, and wouldn't you know I soon felt worse! I would so much rather have an egg white or a 1/4 cup of NF cottage cheese (although I didn't ask about that). I know it's not protocol - but I wish it were. I'm someone who can live without fruit and bread if I have enough protein! Finally I asked if my dose could be an issue (it's funny how some docs like to stick with the dose that works for most of their patients). Well, we're going to try 166iu, starting tomorrow morning. She said it will take about 3 days to feel any difference. I just hope going up is the right direction. If not, it's going to be a while before I find the right dose, huh? I'm wondering what the clues are to whether or not it's better to go up or down. Just so I have something to obsess about the next three days. ONE NOTE: I had a really long day yesterday, which could've been the issue - up at 6:30, to bed at 12:30. Oh well, we'll see. Last edited by buttah; 09-05-2012 at 06:51 PM.. |

Berta, thanks so much! Yes, I know 125iu is a common, perhaps the most common dose and the Dr. S original dose, but I also know others have better luck with more - 150iu and 175iu are common doses as well. Their stories are all over this forum hcginfo.com and youtube, as well as reports I've read online from other HCG docs/clinics.
My doc is going on the clue that I feel better after the injection (I think), but we'll see. I also seem to feel better in the late evenings, before I go sleep, and then the WORST I feel is when I wake up - so it's pretty confusing! Why am I going through a doctor? Because that's the only way I'm comfortable. I'm lucky that I can afford the extra cost (I'm a busy professional), and I'm scared to death about mixing the stuff myself, etc. I like the comfort of someone watching over me. To each his own, right? Meanwhile, I've read many of your posts, and you are such a sweetheart!!! Just wanted to say that. |

Thank you. Well I would have went to a Dr too but I can't afford it and mine would have a cow if he knew I was doing HCG! But he isn't my boss I am due for blood work in about three weeks or so.I am anxious to see the results. He hasn't seen me for about a year now. And he doesn't know I have lost weight.I was 275 when I was last there. As for mixing it's easy but it took me awhile thanks to TARYL to figure it out. Once I understood it I felt kinda silly because ![]() it was so easy.It really wasn't any of my business why you are going to a Dr I probably shouldn't have even ask.Sorry if I offended you in anyway ![]() I undesrtand the simplicity as in my old age people wonder why I buy 7.00 a loaf bread instead of making it.... well I don't like cooking for one thing and it is easier to just go buy it. I buy the 1carb Julian Bakery bread it is good I haven't gained on it either! I had one slice for breakfast with butter and sf jelly and then tonight I had homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese with that bread ![]() I really do hope you get things figured out what is best for you. ![]()

One of the best ways to tell is to skip a dose. If you feel better the next day, you need to go down. If you feel worse, you need to go up. Just a thought.

Well, the doctor is a she!
Okay, I've been reading up on this all night - it seems the grand consensus for people is that more of us need to go down in dose to curb hunger. I'm considering ignoring the doc and skipping today to see how I feel. Or perhaps figuring out how much to squirt out of the syringe before I inject to make it 133iu or 125iu. Contacted the moderator and very knowledgable "Grammy" on that other forum, and she suggested I skip today. She's getting back to me on the "squirt some out" calculation. (And meanwhile, i just noticed one of the pre-loaded syringes they gave me at 150iu has little to nothing in it! Um, who wasn't paying attention? Makes me nervous about their mixing, but I guess everyone makes mistakes.) What do you guys think? Are my odds better at going down? And... down a pound from yesterday. |

I know you can't post it here but is there really another good HCG forum? Before I found this one I was looking around on another one but did not like it at all. Not very supportive, tons of confusing and contradicting info, this place was much more approachable and friendly. But I"m curious what forum you all are referring to, can someone pm me?
Happy to say I lost my loading weight! ![]() ![]() ONly took 2 days so now I can start counting my REAL losses. I am just .6 up over my LIW so If I can lose another few lbs this week I'll feel awesome. WE're doing some family photos for my sons 1 year photos and I want to look and feel good in them. That is a week from today so I would LOVE to drop another 5-10lbs by then. Realistically 6 or 7 would be fab!I hope today means less hunger b/c last night was a struggle. But I'm determined to make this a good round so it can be my last! Happy Losses everyone! |

Morning hcgers!
I've learned that pain meds and novocain do not do well with weight loss. I have not lost anything in two days. Im off the pain meds, just ibuprofen for now. The root canals went well, just very sore. Ive done pretty good, just seem to be retaining a lot of fluid. Today's eats: B apple slices ( I love the presliced organic apples in a bag) 30 cals L salad (romaine) tilapia with dill Walden Farms sesame dressing S wasa light crisp 20 D chicken grilled with lemon and rosemary asparagus steam bag (50) S Strawberry frozen sorbet Water, tea, seltzer with lemon juice Everyone have a great day! ![]() |

yes, there is. It has hcg, diet and info in the title. Kind of hard to miss. It's not quite as cozy and fun as here, but when your an information hound like me, it's nice to have other places to look.
I am an hour away from skyping with Robin Woodall. Going to get her advice on this dose issue, so I haven't done anything yet. But I've now learned how to lower my dose using the 150iu syringes that I have, just by squirting some out. |

I havent been around for a while, took some time off dieting for the summer. I gained 13lb though so not happy about that. But I had my first VLCD on Labor day and am doing good so far. I am down a total of 5lb so far, but 2 I gained on loading, so only really lost 3, hoping for a great number tomorrow!! I was hungry all day today which is weird for me. I pushed through so hope it was worth it! ![]() I am glad to be back. I see some familiar faces out there. Good luck to everyone!! ![]()

I did okay today (1 pound weight loss) but we had a staff appreciation BBQ at work which tripped me up a bit. I did not eat a hamburger or bun, just grilled chicken, no condiments. And a large chunk of watermelon. But I did eat about a 1/2 cup of potato salad, oy. At least I skipped the chips and dessert? Tomorrow is my birthday so there will be food galore at work, and then out for a birthday dinner, and then out on both Saturday and Monday for birthday lunches with friends. With hindsight, I really should have waited to start this round until next week, huh?!?!? Oh, well! I'm not going to stress over it, just do the best I can. I've requested that we go somewhere that I can order a salad and chicken at when we go out, so hopefully no Mexican food to tempt me. Or margaritas :-) Have a good evening, all. leslie P.S. Ashley, I'm glad the root canals went well. Hang in there! |

Lol Manders yes you can but now I'm disappointed today bc I didn't lose anything. Same number as yesterday!
I had cabbage yesterday and I've heard that can stall some people so now I'm wondering If I'm one I'd those people? If so that stinks bc I really enjoyed it! Then I wonder could it have been the broth? I never had broth in R1. I know it's not protocol so could that be the culprit? The only other thing is that I used baby oil yesterday. Again something I didn't do last round. But I thought you were allowed to. Is that wrong? I really really want to lose some weight already, I'm still above my LIW which is frustrating bc when I was maintaining I was usually below it! I want to lose another 5-7 lbs by next week!!! Should I not have cabbage today? Or no broth? Ahhh |

I would skip the cabbage. That stalled me last round big time. But I had broth the whole round and that did great for me. I know it's a bummer not seeing the scale move. I feel for you. |
