Fat Fast to break a stall in P2 & transition to P3
i have been really interested in doing this since i've read about a couple of people having success with it on here.
aerin8 on here has had luck with this and i hope she doesn't mind me quoting her. i compiled a bunch of her posts in regards to this. so has anyone else tried this? i think i might if i hit a stall. i think its great info and a gives us another option to break a stall or transition to p3! THANKS AERIN8!!! Quote:

I don't see why not. Everyone responds differently to different things. I once did an apple day and lost 4 pounds. Some people lose nothing on an apple day. Try it and see how it goes!

I'm a little confused by this... does Aerin8 mean she is using FF for her three loading days, as well as for the last two days of transition into P3?

welp- I am very glad that I used fat fasting to transition into P3- so far, so good!
I FF'ed for 3 days- at 1000 cals, dipped 1.8 pounds below LDW, and then stabilized at .8 below LDW. I've climbed to 1250 cals over the last three days- using P3 foods only. I'll add 200 or so cals today and in a few days climb to my BMR +20%. I'm holding steady at .8 below LDW. To me, that's awesome!! I was so afraid that going from vlcd to more than double cals was going to pile it back on. I definitely credit the fat fast in allowing me to double my cals without rebound weight gain. Hope I do as well for the rest of this and next week... then, on to round two!! Can't wait!! |

No loss- No gain. 2 day FF!
Hi,
I'm new to this board, but I've been reading and learning for the last year here I'm R4, P2 VLCD22. I was losing steadily but had a slight stall and wanted to end my round with a nice drop, so I tried the FF the last two days. Typically, a high protein correction day had netted me at least a 2 lb drop in P3, so I said "what the heck, I'll try it!". Anyway, this did not work for me. I felt terrible, especially yesterday, day 2 of this experiment. I tracked everything on MyPlate and was around 1000 c. w/80-83% fat. I'm going back on VLCD today till I lose my final 3lbs. I should say that I'm now in my healthy BMI (just hit that 1lb ago!). So, I don't have much else to lose, but another 5lb would be a nice cushion. Wish me luck- I really want to lose another 3lbs to get me to 115 (I'm only 4'11"). I've lost a total of 40lbs (10-15 each round) and stabalized really well each time. Thanks for the support- I really like this board compared to some other yahoo groups that are pretty critical of anything "off" protocol- lol! Best, Kim |

Kim--those are wonderful results you have had!!! I am sure you can get to your goal using the hcg. I am 5'4" and got to 115, so no reason you cannot either. Let's do this together. Unless you are already there!! How are you doing now?

You are doing quite well. Are you low carbing? Calorie counting? I have to admit that I have been so addicted to losing that I am paranoid about going off the hHCG for good and gaining. Every time I do go off for PI's, P3's...I gain a few lbs. back by eating strict protocol Of course, I've never gone more than a few weeks to see if it does eventually stabilize...I panic & jump back on hHCG I definitely will be going to JUDDD in a few weeks. I have been really cruising their boards to get a glimpse of what it will be like. Prolly will incorporate strict low-carb at first...then start adding in low glycemic carbs, just to get my body re-acclimated. I am extremely carb-phobic/carb sensitive normally.Keep up the great work!!!!!

so then i upped my calories to 1500 and started gaining so i cut back down to 1200-1300 and am at below LDW again. i am basically eating p2 foods but more fat, like bulletproof coffee (coconut oil & butter), avacado, ribeye steaks, eggs, etc. some popcorn here and there. calorie counting is no big deal cause i do it all online and got into the habit of it when i was on hhcg. i wanted to keep going on hhcg too but i got worried after reading on here about how our bodies could get immune and other negative things that could happen- like difficulty with stabilizing. when i got 3 pounds from goal, i decided to stop (even though it was just THREE more pounds). i am glad i did because i've learned that my body can stabilize after almost tripling the amount of foods i eat and after eating VLCD for so long. i did one unplanned interruption and gained about 10 pounds in a week! but i was eating w/e i wanted while my mom was visiting. transitioning to P3- i was careful and did it by the book and so far its worked well |
