Nutritional Ketosis. To make it simple, High Fat, Moderate Protein, Low Carb or Fat Fast with more calories.

I lost well right off the bat and have been zigzagging at a slow pace in a downward trend for about a week. If I could get motivated to really apply myself I'm sure I'd have better results. But getting by, not gaining and heading toward is working for me at the moment.

WHOOOOOOHOOOOOO DEBBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're at goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm hanging in there, folks -- still battling back the Lyme, but making progress.

Terri, I'm throwing in NK days here and there too -- essentially fat fast with more calories (not much animal fat, though, except milk products).

I'm just glad to be losing consistently, if not quickly. And I am throwing in enough refeed days that I don't think I will have a crazy regain this time.

I'm 6 lbs from my *high* goal, Cheryl, not my low goal -- I'd still really like to reach 105 again. Still, happy to be making progress at all, so not complaining.

WTG Mini Are you still doing HCG? Do you break from it when you do your refeeds or just keep it going? Are your refeeds limited to one day?

I'm thinking about whether I might want to try this kind of round now with the occasional holidays and special occasions or just wait until after the first of the year.

I'm still doing the hhcg -- I often don't take it on the day of a refeed, but I am not sure if that makes any real difference or not. Yes, the refeeds are for one day, and they aren't all out eat fests ... just a day of eating around 2000 calories or thereabouts.

So far, so good ... not struggling with this much at all, and the weight is coming off slowly but surely, and that is fine by me. I don't think I am going to have nearly the horrid time maintaining this time around, since I'm not starving or dragged out at the moment.

A normal day for me on this round is about 1000 calories -- one meal, in the morning, and that's all -- and that has been just fine. Occasionally I eat a second meal, but it's rare.

All in all, I am not stressing much about this ... just doing what I'm doing, and letting the losses happen as they do.

We'll see how the last 10 lbs goes ... that tends to be a bit harder to shed -- but maybe it won't be this time, since I am now on thyroid meds. We'll see.

Hey all,
I was just wondering what some alternitive foods are that you guys have had success with in phase 2? I just started R3. I'm on vlcd4 but I add more protein so my cal intake is around 800-900. I find it makes P2 a little more comfortable.
Also, how long does it take to start losing again after a refeed? Any info would be nice as I'm new to the whole rogue HCG thing. Last 2 rounds I fallowed instructions to the letter...crazy that I've lost more thus far with more calories.
Thanks

Wow I got an amazing new horse for a song. He is a national show horse-trained out the ying yang, but my friend who is a dedicated amateur national contender is out of the half arabs for now and had too many aqha's she was doing things with soooooo, I got her on the right time and got lucky!!

Diet wise, I am back on HCG I have not done a round since June-so I am hoping to loose the last 8-9 lbs this way. I am not sure how to proceed it I loose it in a couple of weeks? Dr.s S protocol says stay on for 21 days but double your food after you reach your goal, then come off as usual. Any thoughts??

I forgot to add, I started at 133 then loaded for two days properly and gained up to 136! Back down to 131 this am--woo hoo! I have my friend, Alexis on board with me for this round and my daughter, they both have a good bit to loose. I hope they get hooked on losing too, and meet their goals. I know I could not done it without the hcg! I had been trying to loose 20 lbs for 10 years and lost 32-My goal is roughly 125--then float up to 127 and just stay under 130--it is better than just staying under 140-thats too much weight for me, (at 5'5") and I can do this!

Hey Cheryl,
What a beautiful Avi!

Kind of doing a break doing just basic low carb myself at the moment. My car got squished (nobody hurt, praise the Lord) but my focus is a little compromised.

Where are you hangin'?

Where am I hanging? I'm on the Atkins '72 thread for November and on my journal. I post there almost daily. I'm back on Atkins and in my first week. It's going very well! I took the pic I am using as my Avi. They are two of the horses at the place I volunteer at. Charmed and Cowboy, an Appaloosa and a Paint.

I'm so sorry to hear about your car accident. Thankful that nobody got hurt! Is the car off the road now or are you still able to drive it? What happened?

Hey Cheryl,
I'm doing basic low carb right now myself, but not really applying myself I'll have to admit.

My car was parked out on the road and a kid came by in a big Dodge Truck, dropped his soda and veered into me. Dodge Truck meets Mustang, Dodge Truck wins. Very nice kid though. Came in my office right away to take responsibility. I'm in a rental right now waiting to find out what the insurance will pay and figuring out what I want next.

Oh no! I hope the insurance companies take care of all expenses. Clearly it was not your fault. He had insurance, right? Do you have more than liability? I still have full coverage on my old car because it is still worth over $4k even though it's 14 years old. Hard to believe. Thank you God that I have had no claims in recent memory. I hope that continues. I'm so sorry that happened to you, Terri.

My Atkins experience is already hitting a large snag and it's only week 1. I had a big bump-up yesterday and today I'm down some of that but still 0.6 above my ticker weight. It's way too soon to play this game! And the poop factory seems to be threatening to go on strike, IYKWIM.

The crazy weather continues! Hurricane at the end of October, Nor'easter in the beginning of November with snow that needed to be plowed, now temps going up into the 60's this weekend! It's anybody's guess how this winter is going to play-out. New England!!

Well it’s kind of crazy. In June I thought of trading in with a value of about $3650, but didn't find a vehicle that was worth making payments on. Then my transmission started acting up again. Last time it cost $3600 to replace. Then the accident. High Blue Book = $7000, but $8000 -15000 to replace. So I was ready for a fight, complete with documentation. Then they offer me $11,000+ tax+dmv for a total of $12,323. Um.......okay. I feel incredibly blessed. Now all I have to do is figure out where to go from here.

As far as diet. The big issue I have with Atkins or low carb for that matter is the slightest deviation can cause a big jump in the scale. However the right correction gets you right back in line. I've been hanging low carb for convenience, but not really committed. Monday DH wants to really commit, which means putting the bottle aside, so maybe I can make some head way.

Sorry about the weather Is your new place at least warmer? How is Cissy fairing?

Hi Jenny, I am on one last round trying to loose my stubborn under waist fat and love handles. I stuck strict for 5 days with adding a bit more protein, I dont want to get haggard or loose muscle. I lost 3 or 4 lbs this week in spite of that and normally I do have a good diet.
Today I am adding a bit of dairy as I remember that is supposed to help with belly fat. I used Fage no fat greek yorgurt, just 1/2 cup with cup of spinich and a cup of kale making a green smoothie for breakfast. I really hate to skip breakfast as I jump on my mini rebounder for 12 min each am and then walk out my horses and do a good half hour of barn work too-m-f then head to work, and teach art to little kids, so I am busy and awfully busy to have no breakfast I think! Good luck with your plan, after I loaded I lost 4 lbs I added the next day. I do not remember it being that fast the last time, so I am with you, more protein is better

WOW! What a deal! I hope that happens to me someday. Otherwise I'll have no money to buy the next car in my future. Still no job on the horizon.

As far as Atkins Bumps, I'm in one right now. I'm quite frustrated because this is day three of just trying to get back to my ticker weight. I haven't cheated one little iota but I did eat too much in the way of "volume" the day before my 2 lb bump. But since then I've been very conscious of how much I'm eating and I even didn't make another batch of the chili, which is what I overate before this whole episode happened. I'm quite the disgruntled LC'er today. The honeymoon's over.

Cissy's doing great. The weather has turned very mild now and will be in the 60's this weekend! Heading back down slowly all through next week but still above normal for this time of year. Freaky CT weather. Like Forest Gump says, "You never know what you're gonna get."

The new place has its cold spots, which really is shocking to me. In fact, I need to take this time during the warm spell and drop all the storm windows in place of the screens. But the cold spots in the duplex are in the bathroom (a vent for the dryer and the exhaust vent for the bathroom seem to be leaky spots), in the bedroom closets (both of them, but one is actually my pantry), and the mud room. I thought it was going to be this very cool, very cozy buffer zone to dry Cissy off when it's wet outside, to sit down on a bench and put my shoes/boots on and off, but NO. It's not the slightest bit insulated and as soon as I open the door to enter in from the kitchen, I need to close the door of the kitchen behind me so the heat doesn't go pouring out (or the cold pouring in.)

I guess there's only so much putting new windows and siding on a 112 year old home can do. But I do think it will be a big improvement over the old abode and I won't ever have to try and seal off that blasted dog door ever again. That was an all-winter-long event. The door was metal and tape wouldn't stick on it for long. I'd stuff that pink insulation in between the plastic sheeting and the dog door to try and get a little bit of protection but it was just no use. I won't miss that part of being a home owner one bit.

I'm sorry. I forgot what thread I was on and thought I was on my journal. Took my Fosamax and so I'm 30 minutes overdue for my coffee! Going to post this and go get me some. WTG on the car thing. Way to turn something rotten into something very cool.

Here you go! Can you please refresh my memory? What is your first name? Seems every woman on LCF with a first name that begins with P always uses her initials.

Sounds like you really need a breakfast! KUTGW.

NO! I wonder why that happens. I'll just tell you where to find it. Actually, if you click on the thread search tool, click "advanced search", then change the option to "search for thread" (rather than finding every post on the board that has those words in it), then type the words "Horse Lovers" and it will pop right up.

Thanks for reminding me of your name! I have a Pam on another thread and I don't want to get you all mixed up in my jumbled head.

I could be wrong but I think the Horse Lovers thread is on the Playground, and you have to have a certain # of posts, to get there.

If not, ignore me please!

Ill check that out for horse lovers--well I was a bad girl! here I finally hit 130 and hold it all week and what do I do but cheat on sat with an ice cream cone (just a small kiddie from DQ) but then had some more sugar free ice cream after dinner and then a couple of bites of veg pizza! I was back up 1.6 just where I was on tues...I just dont get myself! I have been more hungry on the pellets than the orginal drops, but really, your gonna be hungry on a diet sometimes! THEN I think, maybe it is because I am so close to goal, I could just be satisfied with where I am. NOw I could be if not for this belly roll i still have around the love handle area. Still 33_ at my lower waist area a nd it just makes clothes fit funny. I dont know....then I was worried that 'cheating ' on the hcg could lead to quitting a nd then somehow gaining weight rapidly because I didnt finish the whole cycle of 21 days minimum with 3 weeks no sugar no startch. Help me Obi one konobi! so I am I just nuts or what>>??

Breathe in, breathe out. You are going way off the charts over something very minor. Diet soda will never mess you up as long as you don't live on it. You are fine!
