Yeah I know what you mean I don't think it's ever going to be a ball of fire weight loss plan, but it does seems like such a great way to live! Right now I'm focusing on maintaining and living so going to give it another shot. I'm going to do low carbish on N days and try to save my occasional pasta, pizza, etc for S days and see how that works. I'm also going to treat S days like any old N, without planning any special treats. But if one worth partaking presents its self then I'll allow myself to enjoy a reasonable portion, guilt free. I'm also working on not over loading my plate to make sure I'll have enough until my next meal. If I really get that hungry I'll either drink something or eat my next meal sooner. We'll see how it goes, I'll keep you posted. I was worried about you watching the Weather Channel this morning. Looks like there is a lot of flooding on your end of the world.

Hi Suzie, my best cheat recovery is a beef day. My body just loves beef. Beef all day and then I pair it with some lettuce for last meal.

Big to everyone. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

Hi Cheryl and Terri, and everyone! Thanks for the welcome also Terri! So glad to be here!

It's wonderful being able to come and share this with others who are walking through the same thing....... I appreciate it so much!

Terri, beef does well for me too........only thing is I get constipated eating it, so I have to take A LOT of magnesium to offset it, which works well! Thanks for the tip! I really appreciate that!

Cheryl, sounds like your day is goin' a little crazy with getting used to Sat. vs. Tuesdays? Is this a job at a horse barn or stable?

I totally cheated last night in a major way......I ate Chicken Alfreado last night at Olive Garden, complete with breadsticks and the Zuppa soup...it was soooooo good.......I was upset I cheated so BAD.....but then I got over it and decided this is a LIFE change, not some diet.....and I decided I wouldn't torture myself on the scale, so I didn't weigh today, but I am back on plan today and feelin' pretty good! It is day 6 of my plan and I have lost 6 1/2 lbs......I had exercised a lot the week before, and lost 2 1/2, so I have lost 8 1/2 lbs in the last cuple of weeks......the most exciting part was I went and tried on some really awesome jeans today and felt great cuz the ones I had to probably lay on the bed and use a pilers to zip up...you know........THOSE kind? LOL!.....they actually fit so awesome, and even a bit loose! How exciting! so, the scale truly doesn't tell the whole store....so glad it is pounds AND inches! Yay!

Oh, I do have a BIG question....are you guys doing the drops or the injections? I need to order some more drops, and had ordered the drops from Health Your First, or something like that...can't remember th exact name......they are around $30? Wondered where ya'll were getting your hcg from, and if you thought it mattered with drops if it was actual hcg or the homepathic hhcg? Any difference? I need to order in the next day, so if you could let me know where I could find a reputable place, that would be so great!

Thanks everyone and hope everyone is having a good weekend!

I know it sounds wonderful, and for someone like you who is virtually "there", you can make that plan work and be totally happy doing it. I just have too much left to lose and I know I felt "free" while on it, but I was feeling free while not giving a single thought to weight loss, before that. I know you know what I mean.

No flooding here that I know of. Just 28 mud-packed hooves! All are cleaned out for the evening and I know they will sleep well tonight. I picked them all out myself. A labor of love. I just wish to God that I could make a little money doing this stuff! I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel. And I mean "bottom."

Your approach to S days sounds perfect, Terri. I wish I could join you! Someday, if I play my cards right.

FAIR DAY

Okay guys Fair day was yesterday and it was sooo much fun...I planned ahead so I could stay close to on track...I have to say I LOVE the patches and the work really well for me! Thank goodness because I really like to travel light and carry drops to the fair on a hot day = no fun. It has actually been kind of freeing in a way, no wait time..drops wait 20 min -2 hrs, space out thyroid (know what I mean?) So Yesterday I planned to eat a little differently, just knowing what was available....so in the morning I loaded up on more protein/fat with 2 eggs, low fat turkey sausage, cheese on 1/2 egg muffin. Lunch was an apple (I snuck in) and 12 macadamia nuts. Did not get hungry till well into the afternoon ...when our hot day turned into a Rainy day...but we planned ahead and carried umbrellas for sun and heat and then rain! I did plan on sharing a cinnamon and sugar elephant Ear with my girls...(so we split it)...supper was a part of a turkey leg and more nuts and sunflower seeds. Lots of water, I kept that up for sure...woke up with...ready a LOSS and still in Ketosis (222.8) (which is amazing with the EEar)...today I have eaten clean and still am in a med pink on the strips ...wooohooo! Though I will admit to be lighter on fruit that normal....rainy day today so its been a lazy one with indoor Karaoke with the kids ....

Suzie, I volunteer a couple of afternoons per week at a therapeutic riding center close to home. I wish I was making some money but it's all more or less like an apprenticeship. At least that's how I'm looking at it. Otherwise I might go insane some times. Today was better so nothing crazy.

OMG!! That meal you had at Olive Garden is so what I would have ordered! Yummy and very deadly. Just remember that it was worth it at the time. (That stuff is impossible to rewarm at home, isn't it? Comes all apart into a butter, greasy mess.)

That's great about those jeans! Jeans never lie. Often times I wish they would.

I've only ever done the homeopathic pellets. It's against LCF policy to say where we buy them from but I can say that they are Vox brand. I have always liked the convenience of pellets. I don't have the patience for drops and droppers. And I think the pellets are much less temperamental. Mine have been good for over a year and a half.

So I did the barn today and things were a bit muddy but not horrendous. All hooves got picked out and the major muddy body parts (from rolling) got brushed, but no major grooming tonight. They were all groomed earlier cause they were used in program for lessons but that was a LONG time before I got there and they each got into their own favorite kind of trouble.

I have not been to the gym since Tuesday and I really have to go tomorrow. The gloomy weather and shorter days have been getting to me. Can't let that happen, so I'm off to the gym tomorrow. I am so broke that I'm once again thinking of hocking my jewelry. If I could get a fair price, I'd do it in a heartbeat. It's just sitting around in a jewelry box, waiting for some thief to come in and steal. Pointless, really. I need money, not bling.

Cheryl when the gloomy weather gets me down, I go for a fake & bake tan. Don't know if you have tanning parlors there, but they totally amp the Vitamin D. I haven't tried plain old Vitamin D, but that's another idea.

Em, nice fair day plan. Good job!

Suzie, pellets for me too. Intermountain brand.

Erin, nice loss after KFC. That's usually a killer for me. (there's your pun Cheryl )

How you doing Mini?

No way I can afford anything like that right now, but it might be a good idea for when I actually get some work. I am so sick of trying to make it until payday. When it only comes once a month, that can be an awfully long dry-period.

The calcium I take has D in them, and there is also D in my multi. I need to alter my schedule and start going to bed much earlier and rising with the sun. That way I will experience a full "day." That's a tough feat for me, though. Always have been a night person.

I hope everyone has a peaceful night's sleep and we all wake up to sunny skies tomorrow.

Hellooo everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA, I've had a truly miserable cold and was just completely whacked.

Hi to the new suzi, I envy your homeschooling! I would totally have loved to do that!

Cheryl, you're so good to those horses. And your indoor picnic at your sister's sounded nice. You're doing well! Here's for your lower number on the scale!

I finished my round but didn't actually do P3 at all, with That Miserable Cold, so I was pretending the scale wasn't sitting right there eyeing me, lol. But today I got on and I've totally maintained! And that's with KFC AND chips and dip the last couple of days! Probably the days when I couldn't taste anything with That Miserable Cold evened everything out for me, so now I'm ready to be good. I'm not sure if I'll do a low-carb style P3-ish couple of weeks or more of a JUDDDish style with LC/low cal down days, but I can still hang out here too, right? It's so good to 'see' you all again!

Mini. YAY for being so close to 115! Good for you, I know how miserable you were!

Embee, your Fair Day sounds sooo good! I loves me some elephant ears, and how great that you were able to do so well AND have a loss! Whoo-hoo!

dazy, I want to try the patches if I do another round after the holidays. I love the idea of the convenience. I've also been wondering, how is your son doing? He's still on my prayer list.

Lovely Sunday everyone!

I'm sorry to hear you've been so sick, Plum. I'm glad you are feeling better and actually were rewarded when you stepped on the scale. What are elephant ears? My favorite fair food is fried dough pizza.

Ladies, it's still gloomy here and with less than a 1/4 tank of gas, I'm afraid to drive anywhere. I feel totally trapped until I get paid on Wednesday. I have enough gas to get to the barn and back (on Monday) but not to be going back and forth to the gym. I've really screwed up big-time this month. (Financially speaking.) I don't know how I can make next month go smoother.

So I'll be hunkering down here at home today, praying for sunshine and a job offer. Have an excellent Sunday, ladies.

Cheryl, elephant ears are a big flap of fried dough with sugar and cinnamon. Or a big flap of baked ditto with ditto. YUM.

I've totally been where you are with the gas situation and waiting on the paycheck.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just morph through the computer screen and give each other a hand when needed?

And be able to show up for one of Cheryl's backyard fire evenings?

I'd likely bother to light that fire if that were to happen. Thanks for the thought, Plum. I never heard those fried doughs called by that name. I prefer the sauce and grated cheese on mine but the sugary cinnamony ones look good, too. Fair food is dangerous! The gothic-sized turkey legs don't tempt me though. Too many Atkins flash backs there.

I didn't really care for the turkey leg...tooo salty, tasted more like ham. If I end up at the fair another time I will choose differently.... Yep Elephant Ear = Fried doughnut dough with cinnamon and sugar...delish!!!! Definitely a once a year thing!

Yes Daisy I LOVE THEM!!!

I hear that! Strangest thread we've ever had. It's kind of freaky, isn't it?

Did the barn stuff today. Gas tank is on E and for the first time in over 12 years, the "low fuel" light came on just as I got back home. I am stranded here at home for the next 36 hours or so, until I get paid.

I NEED A DAMN JOB!!!!

You're cute. I'll be online, most likely. I can't afford to get into any trouble. I just sent a plea for a job. ANY job, to the equine care manager at the therapy place. I know she knows how broke I am but she's not much better off than I am. I told her I'd do anything and that I'm worth every penny. She knows that. But I think her hands are tied. Anyway, I put it out there.

I've been searching my mind to see if there is anything I bought brand new that I have the receipt for that I can return it for cash!! How pathetic am I????? How low can a person get before they finally do something drastic to get out of their situation? I'm thinking I'm about there right now.

Nice to see you, Plum. Glad you are riding out the doldrums with me. What's new with you???

I've been in that situation, Cheryl. In fact I've been in that situation when I had a job.
Aren't you a nurse? Is there anything you could o with that, if the therapy center doesn't work out?

Praying up a job for you!

I'm on disability from nursing. I can't handle the stress and pressure of acute care. I've tried to find something of a private-duty nature lately. I've even posted an ad trying to drum up clients who have elderly parents living at home independently but who might be borderline not able to anymore. I thought that was going to entice at least 3 or 4 people but I only got one bite and when I returned the man's phone call, he vanished.

I haven't worked as a nurse since December of '08. Before that I hadn't worked in acute care since the summer of 2006. People don't want to take a chance on someone who is not actively working, and I'm 50 now. There is such a thing as ageism and I feel it more and more with time. There are plenty of young nurses to choose from. It's just tough all over in the job market and it doesn't matter what your credentials.

Bites the big one, don't it? Uh huh. (Thanks for the prayers. I can surely use them.)

Hey Cheryl,

What about contacting local old folk’s homes or VA hospital and see if they have guests that would be interested in a shopping service, either taking them or being a personal shopper. The holidays are coming, they may have gifts to buy or just want to get out before the weather gets bad. You could even drop off some flyers or they might let you post something with tear off phone numbers.

How about pet sitter or walker for working people? Maybe you could post some flyers at local vets or even at the farm. Or baby sitter? Or house sitter for people on vacation.

Is there any business’s you can walk too? Maybe you could post something there for errand runner. Maybe those businesses would be interested in low cost delivery service where you could make the bulk of your wages on tips. Or maybe they might want their flyers dropped off to local residents. Maybe they’re shorthanded and could use you a couple hours a week so they could get out and take care of their own personal business.

Just a couple ideas. I’ve been there and was actually given the job because I was willing to ride my bike there when my car was down. People just want people they can depend on without excuses.

& the Lord will provide!

Hey girls, Sounds like there's lots going on here! The fried donuts sounds AWESOME!
Cheryl, I'm sorry about your plight. Wish I had some advice for you. The job hunt is a long hard road.
Just a quick update on me; I've stopped the hcg once again, I was too rogue and we have too much going on during the weekends for me to stick to any sort of rogue plan. I'm trying out the Dukan diet again, which allows for a bit more flexibility (at least higher cals). It doesn't allow much fats but going to sneak in a bit of butter for cooking purposes and nothing's stopping me from my HWC and coffee! And the key - staying off the scale! For a long time! It messes with my mind too much. If I stick to the plan then I shouldn't need to weigh to keep myself in check. We will see how it works for me. RIght now I'm in the protein power/attack phase, til Friday then you alternate protein days with protein/veggie days. The veggie list is pretty extensive and even allows for higher carb veggies which is nice.

Thanks for the ideas, Terri. I've been doing a lot of the same brainstorming myself. A few years back I tried to start a doggie daycare in my home. I bought a treadmill and taught my dog to walk on it. I made an adorable flyer and posted them in all sorts of places around town; even in the town news paper. I got a few responses but all of them were people looking to board their dogs when they went somewhere. My venture was simply a daycare idea for people who work long hours and wanted more for their dogs than to just be left alone at home all day. It never got off the ground. (Here are a few examples of who responded. One lady with a Mastiff, and a young couple with two male labs who went through the house and yard, scent marking over each other. Yes; even in the house. Didn't see that until after they had left.)

I could pass out fliers in the neighborhood for dog walking services except I have hip issues and sometimes knee issues (felt the knee trouble yesterday.) I don't do a lot of walking in the neighborhood for those reasons.

My car has a super-charged engine and gets 17 mpg. That makes any delivery job pretty pointless. I'd barely break even. I could go on and on with the excuses but frankly, I need to just look for nursing jobs. I might as well get paid what I'm capable of earning and just shoot for per diem and about 3-4 days a month. Three days might be all I can do without going above my social security cut-off (amount you can earn while on disability.)

Erin, I hope the Dukan plan works well for you. I don't know anything about it. Sounds LC and low fat. Sounds like the worst of both worlds to me. Hope you enjoy the "protein power/attack phase." Happy trails, my friend! Hope you still stick around here so we can talk.

The gloomy weather has returned (actually it's raining now.) One more day til I get paid. Just hanging out at home, eating what I've got and being thankful that I have all that I DO have. I am rich by much of the world's standards. Thank you, Lord!

I'm currently in the struggle to get on disability cause of my daily migraines and fibromyalgia...
I have been fighting with my meds to figure out which one is making weightloss impossible... I took one of the three out, loaded for two days and then fat fasted yesterday and lost nothing!
Unbelievable....

I'm so sorry to hear of your health troubles. How much weight do you have to lose? Some meds can really mess up weight loss endeavors. Sounds like you are a perfect candidate for disability. I hope you can get approved soon. Don't give up. It's worth fighting for.

Cheryl, it is...the low carb part is ok, but the low fat part will be tough. I don't plan to go fully low-fat though; still keeping my HWC in coffee, butter here and there, and keeping my yogurt full fat also. Just will keep those things to once in awhile. I hate to go this route but I need a kick in the pants to get me going again.
Maybe you could do something in-home, ie PartyLite, Tupperware, Avon, etc? Sometimes they require some money for start up but could be a possibility for you?

I don't have that type of personality. In fact I hate going to other peoples "parties" of that nature too. No thanks! Unfortunately, no one out there knows me the way I know myself so I just have to keep looking and "pounce" on whatever shows up that has my name written all over it.

I hope your new plan works great for you!

I feel ya, I have no money either. I had to drop out of my grad school, i was working on my PhD for psychology, now I have a mountain of debt, a huge headache and 30 pounds I can't lose....
I wish I had suggestions for jobs but I hate sales and that type of thing too. Just keep lookin, try Craig list and whatnot. My bff has been looking for work for like 5 years...more if you count looking for a writing job...
Good luck
