I went to make dinner tonight and decided (after a long internal debate) to make a Ramen Noodle meal like I used to make, with soy sauce and diced onion and some frozen peas and a hard boiled egg. Only trouble was after I boiled the eggs (boiled 2 because they were so old they were floating half out of the water), I started pealing them and they had a distinct, faint odor to them. In the garbage they went, along with the rest of the dozen. Out to the trash can they went, because I could soon tell how nasty they were going to smell by the morning, at room temperature.
![]() So my ramen noodle meal had no hb eggs and it was still very nice. I think since I need to buy things like more eggs, I'm going to focus on mainly eating LC so I don't go too overboard the other way. I can eat things that are starchy/carby around my gym weights and cardio days and keep the rest of my days fairly LC. I'm going to head back to Linda Sue's website and see what I can make. Yum! Happy dreams tonight, ladies. Hugs and love to all of you. ![]()

Oops! Hope it starts moving in the right direction again soon.
I'm maintaining in my 2 lb window, so far. I know I'm not following P3 but that is good news, none the less. Have a great Monday, people. If that's possible... I'm doing the farm today and I will definitely be having a great Monday. |

The day with the plumber was a dis.ast.er. Ended up staying home when I came home from lunch in order to clean up the mess (yep, flooded into the living room, again). Plumber was cursing the person who put the pipes in the house and told me he would talk to the landlord about making the proper changes to the plumbing. We will see. Luckily to make things better today I got a phone call wanting to set me up with a job interview in a few weeks for a long-term contract position. This is the perfect opportunity for me so fingers crossed for me, girls!
Low carb for me today, and didn't weigh; probably won't tomorrow either. Hope you all had a wonderful Monday!

Oh no. But YEA about the interview!! Fingers most definitely crossed. Keep us posted, okay? I'm still patiently waiting for MY perfect job opportunity, which I interviewed for weeks ago. Wish they had said that they were in NO HURRY to hire and train someone.
I'm so tired and sore after the farm today. It was a very hectic day. Someone didn't show up for the lesson at 5 so I needed to sub as a leader. It went well, I thought. But it was my first actual lesson being a leader. I hope I showed the lady who decides who can be a leader saw more in me than she's apparently seen in the past, during the leadership training classes. (That didn't come out right at all but I hope you get my drift.) ![]() I'm so beat now! Head to toe soreness and I am supposed to do the weights and cardio at the gym tomorrow. I almost went to the gym tonight just to use the hot tub but decided to just soak here at home. It was nice and I didn't have to pack a bag. Cisco wouldn't have been thrilled if I was home for 30 minutes and then left again. Can't blame the little munchkin. So I'm clean, medicated (but wish I had something stronger than Motrin) and have my Restoril refilled so will sleep better tonight. Last edited by CherylB; 09-24-2012 at 06:11 PM.. |

Hi lovelies!
Super quick check in ... got a busy week, and not much time for internet fun -- I haven't weighed in a couple of days due to the TOM stuff... but now it looks like it might have just been some spotting... so who knows what is going on with that. Plan is still going well -- I actually had to coax myself into eating at all today -- just not hungry, and food really didn't seem very appealing. That's fine for now -- I'll take the lack of appetite over gnawing hunger any day! I'll get on the scale in the next couple of days, even if TOM does show up -- but I won't stress the number too much. I'm losing inches -- slowly but surely -- so I'll be happy just to know that progress is happening. Good luck to everyone!

Sorry you're so busy. I had to force myself to eat today too, but only because I didn't have the motivation to cook something. I finally did eat and I was glad I did. Yum! Hope you're right about those inches going away.
How is everyone doing today? I went to the gym and did 20 minutes on the rower and then went through the Nautilus circuit twice. It's all I could manage after all I went through at the farm yesterday. It's going to be amazing when I get more of this fat off of me cause then my muscles will really begin to appear and I'll be standing in front of the mirror with my mouth agape. Looking forward to that day!! And every day there after. We have our family picnic tomorrow at 1pm at the State Park near us. I hope it doesn't rain cause it's likely that we will get a shower. Either way, we will have a nice time together and it will be great seeing the newlyweds for the first time since they got married in June. They are coming home to attend another wedding in Massachusetts so my sister/his Mom is taking advantage of him breezing through town and throwing this picnic for their sakes. She'll be picking them up from the airport in the morning! Busy-busy-busy! I'm bringing a box (big box) of hot dogs, a jar of sauerkraut, mustard, a cooler full of bottled water in ice and I forget what else. I will be hauling the cooler and water bottles outside soon so the cold night will get them chilled down before I add the ice. Got to use everything I can to my advantage. Oh, yeah! Bringing a few sky lanterns but they'll probably be gifted to the happy couple to do when they have time. I'm sure we won't be there after dark and they are prettiest at night.I had planned to have many happy backyard fires in the Fall but I don't think my Mother and sister are going to be happy about how cold it is at night lately. I think they'd be shivering even though we'll be sitting around the fire. Hard to have everything just right. Looks like I'll need to have some all by myself with the old Cissy dog. I was a good tenant and did poop patrol when I got back home from the gym and shopping. And although I am totally strapped for cash, I couldn't help but stop at the Goodwill Super Store after picking up Cisco's new bag of kibble at the pet store. I bought $31 worth of stuff I really didn't need. But it's a cheap thrill that I really needed. Hope everyone is having a good night in your neck of the woods. Get some rest and relaxation when you can. ![]() |

MB, cool new Avi! You look great in it.
I am so totally missing the days when I could barely keep up with this thread. I used to take notes so I could remember to comment on everyone's stuff. The glory days, I guess.I just ate 2 hard boiled eggs but I'm totally out of practice. I brought the water to a boil before putting the eggs in, and I used a large plastic spoon to place them in the water, so they wouldn't break. One already had a fine crack so some white leaked out but I just fed that little blurb to the dog. But the eggs were undercooked in the time that I used to always cook them. I've lost my touch, people! At least they pealed well. ![]() Off to sleep soon. Will take my pills, grab a book and get very cozy. Will find out in the morning if the weather scares off my sister. She's preparing to have the "picnic" at her house if she doesn't like the look of the weather. Yeesh. Sucks to be her. No, really. Sometimes I'm so glad to be me!Night, y'all. ![]() |

I have started baking my eggs. It works pretty good! Put your eggs in a muffin tin, bake at 325 for 25 minutes (for xlarge or jumbo, I find that large or smaller take only about 20 minutes.) Then after they are done, I just crack open the oven, turn the oven off and let them cool. They get kinda brown spots on them but they peel easily and are always done perfectly!

Hi, all!
Not much to report over here -- I seem to be stalled for the moment. That's normal for me, and I know the inches come off best when I am stalled, but on plan, so I am just keeping on keeping on. I've never heard of baking eggs -- sounds like a good idea, actually. Wishing all of you a lovely day! |

Hi All!
Not much to report in my little slice of heaven. I’ve been on P3 since Friday, doing pretty good. I was trying to keep the fat up above 80% but the calories starting getting pretty high so I actually did a beef correction day yesterday and I’m back to almost LDW. Now I’m easing up on the percentage and just trying to stay High Fat/Moderate Protein. I’m also getting my workouts back on track. I go up to the Redwoods at the end of next week for a couple days in a cabin. I was originally thinking of re-loading and trying another round to see if I could get back into the 120s, but not sure if I’ll be ready by then or not. If I could start inching down a little with the HF/MP I’d be thrilled to stay here for a while. Nice drops Mini! Have a great evening all!

Thanks for the tips on HB'ing eggs. Seems everyone does them differently! It's pretty funny, really. I used to take hot water from the tap and add salt, then put the eggs in the pan, cover and bring to a boil. Once boiling, I'd remove the pan from the heat and leave covered for about 16 or 17 minutes. Then I'd run them under cold water, peal and eat. I've also tried the microwave method which is my personal favorite. No pealing and have them ready to eat in 1 minute! Takes a bit of trial and error, though.
Had a lot of fun at the family "picnic" today. It got changed to being at my sister and her hubby's house due to the iffy weather. We were indoors the whole time and it was very nice. My Mom was feeling uncomfortable so we left around 8 pm. She had physical therapy today so she's not feeling quite right these days. I started out keeping it LC and then gradually it became a "what the hell" kind of day. Tomorrow begins anew, right? Right!I hope everyone is well this evening. I'm going to catch up on the other threads now. See you again tomorrow, God willing. ![]() |

Evening note -- I decided to make today something of a refeed day, since this round is running long. I initially intended to do one refeed a week, but haven't quite done that ... I think it's been two weeks since the last one.
It was a pretty measly refeed ... I don't think I even hit 1800 calories, because I just don't have much appetite. Still, no scale for me for a couple of days, and that's just fine ... I also ate more sodium today than usual -- I was craving salt, which isn't normal for me -- might be a result of the diuretics, I'm thinking. Anyhow -- staying off the scale for a couple days, and back on plan tomorrow. I'd love to break 115 in the next week.... oh, please, oh, please.... |

Good luck Mini - it definitely sounds possible but I know how it goes! I have finally worked off the weight regained from last weekend, so let's hope for a new low tomorrow morning. Ideally I'd love to be in the 130's by next weekend, so we will see.
Usually when I HB eggs I put them in cool water, set on the stove and boil them for around 15 minutes, then turn off the burner but let them sit. It can really be a pain getting them perfectly boiled, no? lol! The baking method works pretty good so I usually do that unless I don't want to turn the oven on. |

I can get back to "our normally scheduled programming." My goal is still this: Get out of the 180's by October 1st. It's lovely here today! I just opened up some windows. Hey CherylThinking about trying No S again to get back into a routine, but since I still want to lose some I may try to do it LC. I'm in one of those "don't know what I'm doing, but don't want to lose ground" zones. Biggest thing I'm focusing on is getting back into an exercise routine. You’re doing great in your P3 so far! Especially with all your family challenges of late. ![]() |

Sounds good, Terri. Thanks for saying that. Seems maintaining is the easy part. It goes up a few when you're "bad" but with right-living and a commitment to exercise, it naturally comes back down. I still have over 40 lbs to get to goal, but when I consider that I once was just under 100 lbs from goal, I can be quite pleased with myself.
I'm a firm believer in using some sort of plan, regardless of which one you currently follow. If you can't deal with hcg, then do something like Atkins. If Atkins seems too daunting, then try something like No S. If that isn't working fast enough for you, then eat low fat and low calorie. The possibilities are limitless! And all will get us one or more steps closer to where we need and want to be. Do you still hang out on the No S thread? I wonder how Nicole and the others are doing on the plan. Maybe I'll swing over there and get caught up. Would be so interesting to see a "fast forward" into how the plan has worked for them over the weeks. I just swept off the front porch. Holy cow! That was way over-due. It was full of bird seed shells. They were all stuck in the cracks between the 2 x 6's. Now it looks so pretty. Next I will tackle vacuuming. Been putting that off, too. My vacuum is a small canister-type and it was meant for my other house which was 90% hard wood and linoleum. It wants to overheat with all these carpets here. One time it did just that and I thought it died! Luckily it came back to life after it cooled off. Last edited by CherylB; 09-27-2012 at 12:44 PM.. |

Hi CherylB and all roguers on here! I'm Suzie and I'm new to this website, and thread...but not new to HCG....I didn't know where to "jump in", so just tagging a reply on yours Cheryl...hope that is ok!
I am P2 D5 of VLCD......and I NEED to be on the rogue type part of this to survive....it is WONDERFUL to find help and support and encouragement and not be made to feel guilty because I cannot stay with the Simeons protocol to the letter....I am a musician, and a more relaxed type person who doesn't do well with "to the letter" type things! LOL! I am about to try that "goulash" of yours Cheryl...sent hubby to store for the stuff..... Hey, I haven't had time to read much posts, but has anyone done tuna on this, and used a bit of real mayo? I LOVE tune and some salmon, but because of eating sooooo much white fish on HCG a couple of years ago when I first tried it....I just cannot stomach white fish still! LOL! Thanks for letting me join you on this journey and I look forward to getting to know you wonderful people here! Blessings and have a wonderful day all! |

Welcome, Suzieq. I hope you like the "goulash". I don't know if I explained it in that great a detail for you to make it, but if I did, enjoy! I hope it does the trick for you the way it does for me. It's a lot more satisfying than bone-dry chicken breast in miniscule amounts.
![]() What musical instrument(s) do you play? Is that how you make a living? I'd love to hear all about it. I don't play but have had a life-long desire to play the guitar and I have a keyboard that is for total novices. I like to play Christmas tunes around that time of year, especially when I've been partaking in some "Christmas Cheer." ![]() I don't see why tuna fish would be bad on a rogue plan but if you add mayo, you won't be able to eat all that much and keep the calories down low enough for a P2. I hear ya about eating it without mayo, though. Bleck! I could never grasp how some people could just eat it with a fork right out of the can. :/ Blessings to you, too! aboard! We are happy you found us. ![]() |

Well I have spent the week trying not to eat the ham I baked on sunday, and just ate little bits, but that salt !!! I found the two lbs I lost again
too much cake at work, even though I just had a sliver. I thought I was warding all gain off by riding an hour each night but I either have muscle swelling (possibility water gain) or salt water gain, or was just flukey losing down to 130-131 last week. Oh well, I am trying, thats all I can do![]() Pat |

Hi again Cheryl! Thanks for the sweet welcome and note! Sure do appreciate it!!!!!!! I play keyboard and sing.....I was a worship leader at my church for years......just takin' a break right now......I have led worship at the women's prison here and the homeless shelter....so Jesus is my everything!
I made the tuna salad....but I think I used too much mayo....but it sure did taste GREAT! I probably won't eat dinner now tonight....I didn't eat anything for lunch but had an apple.......that was all...... I probably will just have a snack of some kind tonight, along with some decaf coffee...I made the most AWESOME mock mocha this morning!!!!!!! I don't like things super sweet...so I drink the instant starbucks columbian med. roast....you just empty the packet of coffee in the mug, add boiling water and voila! Instant AWESOME tasting coffe that rivals any brewed, in my humble opinion! Then, I can't do regular milk, so I used a little 1/2 and 1/2....then added about 1 tsp of the Hershy's powdered unsweetened cocoa......and some stevia mixed with cinnamon...not much....and stirred....it was DECADENT! Coffee is a really big thing for me.......I do drink it black some, but love having something yummy like 1/2 and 1/2...this was like a treat for me! Wa HOOOOO!Anyway, I sure loved my tuna...I wrapped it in long pcs. of romaine lettuce leaves.....it sure satisfied me! Wish ya lived close here Cheryl and I could give you some piano lessons sis! I am rather hillbilly, and I also have homeschooled my son, JJ, who is now 13, almost 14.....we have always homeschooled, and we love it...we are not school at hometypes....we do a lot of unit studies, and reading....and we study the Bible...he is an AWESOME young man and I am blessed to have him! I also married...my 2nd marriage...my hubby is older....he is retired.....so we are home - A LOT! LOL! I will probably make that goulash tomorrow....my hubby could not find any diced tomatoes without sugar, so I had him buy me 3 big ripe tomatoes......I kind of like the idea of fresh tomatoes right now...I think it's that whole "Harvest time" feeling for me right now! I LOVE FALL!!!!!!!!!!!! It's great connecting on here with you! Hey, if you are on fb, friend me....it's Suzie McCrossin Peterson - would love to have you as a friend! Blessings and smiles to all! Oh....P.S.........does anyone have any secrets they can share about how to recover from a big cheat quickly? Also, has anyone heard if taking Potassium helps with water weight??? Thanks so much! Sooooo happy and blessed to be here! |

Hello, ladies. Still gloomy here in CT. I have the barn today and it's only 56 degrees out there. I couldn't be less enthused about going. I haven't gotten the hang of doing it on Saturday. Something seems "wrong" about it. I do miss my Tuesdays but I don't miss being there on two program days.
Suzie, I'm not on FB anymore. I used to go on there daily to play Texas Holdem Poker but burned out on it. I actually don't trust those social networking sites much. I'm glad you love the Lord. Baking eggs blows my mind too, speedracer. I never heard of that method before. I found a way to microwave them and that eliminates all need for pealing. Just spray a microwavable small cup (like 1/2 cup measure) with Pam and crack the egg into the cup. Take a toothpick and poke about 4-6 holes into the yolk. Salt and pepper if you like, then put into the microwave for roughly 45-50 seconds. (You'll know if you poked enough holes into the yolk or if you nuked it a second too long. It will explode.) ![]() That method is good if you are adding hb egg to something and they don't need to be pretty. Like if you're making egg salad or putting an egg on top of a tossed salad, etc. Quote:
Just gotta love those puns that happen unnoticed. Hope you are having a fun day at the Fair!! Terri, I went over to see what's happening over on the NoS thread after you said it was revived. I was hoping to see how much weight Nicole had lost over the past weeks of NoS'ing but it doesn't look like anyone is really weighing themselves. Impossible to tell how it's working if nobody ever weighs-in. ![]() Well, I hope everyone has a nice weekend. You know where I'll be in a few hours. :/ I have a feeling it's going to be a hectic day. I like the woman a lot but she is very scattered and so I end up heading in all sorts of directions. I didn't avoid chaos by switching to Saturdays. (Maybe I've stumbled on the reason why Saturdays aren't feeling right yet. I need to look at the darn schedule again.) Last edited by CherylB; 09-29-2012 at 09:00 AM.. |
