P3~P4 Simeon's Week of August 20th

Here we go... new thread.

dbunny 08-20-2012 08:25 AM

I am sucking wind right now. I am up way out of my window and am really struggling with this. I even thought of going into P2 for a few days to get down :(
Vacation starts Thursday, going to eat as cleanly as possible and try to get this weight off.

Reddy 08-20-2012 08:26 AM

Lol I just started one too! Must have been at the same time. I'll delete mine...

dbunny 08-20-2012 08:27 AM

Haha~ great minds think alike, right?

Reddy 08-20-2012 08:32 AM

Dbunny what are you eating? Maybe if you share what you've been eating we can help you figure out how to fix it? Are you counting your calories? Are you following P3 strictly or no?

I am below my LIW today which is a relief considering that I cheated on Friday but I was very good yesterday and Sat so I guess that helped.

Julie, I'm eating my Voskos right now and it IS good. It tastes like Sour Cream to me when not sweetened. I added some Stevia and strawberries. I will have to get back to Whole Foods one day to buy more.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Hello all! I have a prenatal appointment in a little bit I'm getting ready for, and things have become slammingly busy with the upcoming primary elections (we are working on three different campaigns). Eating, well, I'm just doing the best I can at this point. Bleh and ick are the words I generally describe myself with these days!

julieboolie 08-20-2012 10:33 AM

Taryl-hang in there! It's all for a wonderful outcome!!:jumpjoy:

Dbunny-:console: I'm sorry you're still struggling :(. I hope you can figure out what works best for you!!

Reddy-you're doing great!! Glad you like that Voskos!!

I'm up 2 lbs today, way over window :(. Tried hunger scale yesterday, eating whatever my body wanted when hungry, stopping when satiated, etc. bummer! . Works well for others.

Doing a CD today, and will go back to what works best for me. It ain't broke, so I'll keep doing it my way. :) i haven't eaten yet, debating which CD to do. Modified steak, GYCD, or egg. Egg sounds good, but didn't work for me last round. Have ribeyes in the fridge, but I do love Voskos! Prob steak :).

Reddy 08-20-2012 06:26 PM

Julie sorry to hear you are up. Hope your CD Nets a good loss!

I'm having one of those days.. make that nights, where I just can't stop eating. I didn't eat much today but I did eat a few of hubbys french fries and I bet that those carbs are what are causing my binging tonight. Granted I've been eating all low carb but can't seem to satisfy my hunger.

TOM came today so that doesn't help. I am afraid of the scale tomorrow.

Just ride it out! I go a little nuts when my TOM is on the way. I get really emotional and cranky. So it's either I kill someone, or I eat. I'd rather eat and deal with the gain later, than freak out on everyone when I'm pms'ing lol

julieboolie 08-20-2012 07:11 PM

I've had a rough day too!! Dd(12) was really pushing me to my limits today!! :annoyed: But I'm almost done :). The girls are off playing at a friend's house, dh is watching football and I'm heading to bed early soon, and will start fresh tomorrow. I did a modified steak day today. Not much hunger, had a bigger steak at lunch and a half of one at dinner w. half a tomato. Didn't have any tomato at lunch, hope that's not a deal breaker :dunno:. Either way I feel fine and really hope to be back in window tomorrow. I like it there :D!

Thanks Reddy-hang in there !! It's hard when it's emotionally based. I know. Today was hard and those choc almonds were offering me comfort. But I resisted!! :high5: The beauty of CDs (and P2 honestly) is the limited options. It almost empowers me to resist temptation. I'm way better w. no options, rather than limiting my portion size. I need to work on that!! :)

That's exactly it! The freedom is what can get me into trouble and why I liked P2 b/c as boring as it was, I knew my limits. I've been able to maintain really well so far while feeling like I"m eating pretty liberally but sometimes I get out of control. Between my binge tonight and TOM I won't be surprised if I"m up a little tomorrow. I really don't want to be at the top of my window right now though since this weekend is going to be bad news bears in the eating department. I need to be at the low end in order to have "wiggle room"

I'm sorry you had a rough day today Julie. Do you really think not eating a tomato would hurt? I hope you are back in your window in the morning.

I'm also sorry that your DS was trying you today. I can sort of relate in that my son would not sleep today. He's normally a great scheduled napper but today he fought it completely. We had so much going on at the office and he would not nap and I couldn't get things done. Then I got a call from a client that we lost a HUGE deal that is going to cost us a lot of money. So maybe that has something to do with my lashing out in the kitchen too.

I'm feeling stressed about family coming to town and all the party planning etc. Sigh. I hate TOM!

Manders how are you doing??? How's P2 treating you?

It's alright. I'm in virgin numbers territory now, however my chocolate cravings tonight are in FULL force. :(

I can relate to the business deal stuff. I lost a big deal once that almost put me right out of business, but stay strong, and when you least expect it, another new client will show up. It ALWAYS gets better.

I like to peek in this thread because our P2 one tends to be a little slow lately and I need SOME support lol

Woo hoo for Virgin Number Territory!! :jumpjoy: That's amazing! Makes it easier to say no to those chocolate cravings right? For me, in P2 every time I had a craving for something sweet I went to hot tea. It seemed to work.I'm looking forward to my next round, I just hope it's as good as the first. I've seen many people say their second round was a mess.

Keep peeking in. This thread is a bit slow too so it's nice to hvae people posting! I;ve found I really need this forum for motivation!

I do not need a CD have been maintaing well:clap: but I am wondering if chicken legs can be used instead of thighs? I hate chciken thighs:sick:Don't know why except one time I went to eat one and a looooong black stringy thing came out in my mouth and I haven't eaten one since:laugh:.

Sale was ok not what we expected but at least we got rid of alot of things that was junking up the garage. That is really all we wanted to do.We still have a storage shed to go through so probably one more in September and that should be it for this year!

Still in ph3 have about one and half more weeks then Ph4 for awhile(maybe I may go back to PH2 not sure yet). I am enjoying eating and maintaining so I'll see.

Everyone hang in there and I hope you all have a great week.

Hi Berta:hiya:

Great to see ya!!!
You are doing MARVELOUS:clap:

Funny about the food adversions...you must have gotten a vein. It's hard to go back to eating that item. When I was pregnant, I came across a tiny bone in my tuna...couldn't stomach tuna for a LONG time afterwards. Also found a fat green worm in a bell pepper...lol.

I'm starting to get busy at school...meetings all week and classroom set-up. I'll be checking in regularly.

How is hubby feeling?

Talk to you soon:shake:

julieboolie 08-21-2012 07:21 AM

Eddie-:hyst: There are loads of 'em. That would be a fun thread to create: "add your favorite acronym..." Aren't you done P2 yet? How was your PI weekend?

Angela-I always loved the beginning of the school year!! I hope you have a great year and thanks for popping in. I like hearing from you and look forward to more visits as your routine gets established :).

Berta-good to hear that!! You sound so wise, calm and experienced w/ hcg now!! I'm so happy for you!! And hope dh is healing quickly and regaining his strength under your tender care :).

Reddy-you're coming up on a big weekend!! That's going to be so much fun!! I hope you're able to wiggle down a bit allowing extra window room for the celebrating. Even if you go over, don't let it rob you of the joy!! You know you can CD or P3 it back off. All part of living life!! :)

Manders-:jumpjoy: for VWT!! Nice job!! C'mon by, anytime :).

Dbunny-how're you today? I was right there where you are, up before my vacation and knowing I wasn't going to be "good" while away. I tried, half-heartedly, to get back into my window before, but then decided to chuck it and call a refeed, thereby endorsing the coming gluttony w/i reason. I hope you're stronger than I and that you're back down soon!! :)

I'm down a bit from my steak day. I have learned over the past 2 rounds that CDs really aren't that effective for me  . I used to be able to drop 2-3lbs from them, nowadays I'm lucky to eek out 1.6. :( I will probably go back to my clean Atkins style induction days to get lower in (or back into) my window from now on, as the CDs are challenging mentally as well as lifestyle wise. Especially w/o the reward at the end. I'm confident I'd have lost just as much eating regular P3 yesterday :annoyed:. I think when I inevitably am out of window again, I will try out my theory.

That said, I'm going to just keep it clean, and light today. I'm going to slightly override hunger (gasp!!) and not eat every time I'm hungry. I need a good lower cal day in order to get back into window, and hopefully a bit below the upper limit!! :stars: I've been riding the top half of my maintenance window for too long and need to get down a bit. I'm in P4 and losing at this stage is supposed to be ok.

I'm also adding back exercise. (gasp again!) I'll ramp up to the weights slowly, start w. cardio. But I feel like mush and fear I'm losing too much of my recent muscle gains. I also need to help dd make that a higher priority so off we'll go.

So, that's my confusing update :). Still happy and feeling comfy. Wishing I were lower, but ok w. it. It's all good :).

hhcg_lowcarb 08-21-2012 07:27 AM

Just stopping by to say hi to all of you! Cheers to a news week and better losses :hyst:

My P3 has not been easy at all but I am hanging in there and looking forward to the P2 coming up in the next couple of weeks.

Keep losing all:rofl:

Reddy 08-21-2012 07:46 AM

Morning everyone! Eddie and Berta nice to see you here!

Berta how is DH?

Eddie how did your PI go? Are you going back to P2 or joining us in P3?

Julie- I'm sorry you're having some trouble but glad the CD brought you some results! Hopefully working out wont cause you any trouble! I still haven't done an oz of exercise since starting (aside from
Some walking) and I feel guilty but I can't find the motivation!

I am amazed to be DOWN on the scale today despite my eating yesterday and TOM!! I expected to be up a lb but instead I'm down 1.2 below LDW!

Hope to keep it this way until the weekend so I'll behave the best I can today. Having terrible cramps today so I'll be taking it easy!

Have a great day all!

dbunny 08-21-2012 10:01 AM

OK, a little better today. I am down 3.5. I have been about 2 pounds over my window and attempting to get back down, only to binge (the only word I can think of) on food at night. I know it is stress~ finishing up my last class before graduation (finally done today! yay!), just decided to expand our business, etc;..I have been drinking too much wine, which compromises my judgement, and a handful of nuts or a bite of dark chocolate turns into snack madness. I am golden until about 2 hours after dinner.
My friend came over this weekend and I did not eat P3, had crackers, hummus, pizza, etc and was up 5 pounds just like that. Dropped most of that in the past couple days.
Most days I eat beef, chicken, salads with full fat dressing, veggies, GY for breakfast every day, coffee with cream, and of course, some nuts and 85% dark chocolate. I have not really went off plan, per say (until this past weekend).
I know what I am going to hear... no wine, nuts, or chocolate, right? :(

I sure miss you!!! Happy to hear everything is going well for you. I know you love your job and that is good:up:. It is hard to go to work every day and hate your job. I was a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) for 25 years and I loved it!
Each time I go to a hospital I miss it! Just these old bones don't move fast enough anymore or bend hardly at all:D DH is doing good. He is still wearing a heart moniter but it should comeoff in two more weeks:up:He says he feels soooo much better and I am sure he does!

Please check in more often ok?Have a great Fall!!!!(no pun intended:laugh: )
I saw the alternate day list and chicken legs are ok YAY!!!

Hi there friend:hiya:
Thanks for asking Dh is doing actually really good:up:. He is smiling again and being his old self.Back to work and all. He still isn't suppose to lift much or get stressed out and is wearing a heart moniter for a couple more weeks but I trust the Lord that all is well!!!

Don't feel to bad about the exercise. I never exercise that is one reason I have always had trouble losing. But I have degenerative joint disease and rhuemotoid arthritis so my bones and joints can't take much. I have bone on bone on my knees(suppose to have them replaced but chicken). OH the joys of getting old.I think I am the oldest one on these threads.

Cocoa- did you know 10-15 minutes of laughter a day burns approx. 50 more calories a day, or 3 calories a minute. So laugh it up:hyst:

Reddy/Julieboolie- ladies my PI was completly insane. I even drank beer:o
I am going rouge I went right into another round of P2 without P3. We'll see. Afriend of mine did this so I am following his lead.

Hi guys! I haven't been on here in far too long and I am coming back with my head hanging. I work for a college and it has been insane, with our classes starting yesterday. So last weekend I worked and ate and ate and ate. I was over tired, bored and just lost it... :( UGH!! So i'm about 5lbs over where I would like to be (and we leave for a cruise next Friday!)

I have to say, i'm so glad I came back here to check in. Its good to know that others struggle, but with the support here, I think I can get my fat butt back in the game!!

Reddy 08-21-2012 07:25 PM

Dbunny, Congrats on being down. Now you just have to stay on track and you'll be maintaining!! I hear you on the night eating. It gets me so bad. As for Wine, Nuts or Chocolate... you CAN have them!

You can have almonds in moderation. You can even have Sugar Free Chocolate Covered Almonds (my favorite thing I've eaten in P3P) And red wine, again in moderation should be ok too!

It's the pizza and heavy carbs that will get you and send you into a tailspin of bad eating!

Berta, I'm SOOO happy to hear that DH is doing well and is in good spirits. I hope he continues to stay on the up and up!

Hi Cocoa, how is your P2 going? I am looking forward to starting again mid September. Wishing you big losses!

Eddie, did you gain a lot from your PI? Curious b/c I may have to do a short one in my next round. If you did gain, did you do a CD afterwards and if so how quickly did the weight come off?

I'm looking forward to Friday b/c It's the start of P4 and I'll be taking "re-introducing carbs" to a new level. I will "TRY" to be good but really.. who am I kidding? It's my Sons first birthday and my 32nd and my friends and family will all be here to celebrate. I see a lot of booze and bad food in my near future. I will feel like crap afterwards but my Son only turns 1 once right? Excuses Excuses.

Speaking of his birthday party, having a birthday that falls right at the peak of Hurricane Season (I live in FL) is always bad news bears. It almost ALWAYS rains on my birthday. Not just rain but big storms. Katrina happened on my 25th bday! There's a tropical storm headed our way and I will CRY if my Sons bday party gets rained out. It's a pool party and tons of people are in from out of town. Obviously I have no control of it, but please just this once, can mother nature be on my side? (It rained on my wedding day too and it was supposed to be outside!) I have the worst luck with rain and events. If I plan a party, there's a VERY good chance it will rain. Very good. Ugh. And now there's this tropical storm looming in the atlantic?

Anyway, I'm rambling.

VT Mommy, I've never been on a cruise but I've heard its diet sabotage so be strong! When you get back if needed you can always do a CD and get back to your range!! Where you going on the cruise? I'm jealous!

Ok Reddy here is what I did and I am not sayin it will work for anybody else or work for me again for that matter. I stopped injections 3 days before the weekend and was determined to stay as close to protocol as possible. I was good until Saturday and I completely lost it. I ate everthing(seconds) and drank like a fish. I ate alot on Sunday too. I mean really poor choice foods. I am not proud of this but I needed the break I guess.

I did not do a CD upon my return.

The bottom line was this:
before weight 209.6
cheat weight 212.8
yesterday 210.6 strict protocol
today 208.8 again strict protocol
I am totally rededicated and carry no guilt about what I did and I am going to keep on truckin'.
Reddy it might be different for you so I don't want to be responsible but that is truthfully what happened to me. btw, all of the foods I was missing I ate and now I don't crave them. I hope this helps.
PS I recieved alot of compliments at the party.

Eddie that's awesome! Sounds like you were able to enjoy yourself without too much of a set back! That's awesome! I ha a cheat night last week and was amazed to only gain a lb!

You shouldnt have regrets bc it doesn't matter so long as you get back on! You've done amazing so far! And that's awesome that your friend all noticed and complimented your losses!!!

I'm 2lbs below LIW today! Don't know how but I'll take it! I need AlL the wiggle room I can get before this weekend!

Reddy-whatever you're doing it's working!! :high5:

Eddie-good for you!! Hope your next round goes well too!!

I'm struggling. Not sure if it's still residual from the weekend, too many almonds yesterday or what? It seems my body isn't that keen on LCarb anymore :dunno:. Used to work like a charm. But now, this past 2 rounds, CDs (which are basically really low carb low cal days) don't work, yesterday's low-carb day didn't budge the scale either. Today, I'm just going to relax a bit, have some fruit and higher "good" carbs and see what tomorrow brings. I just want to be down a bit more in the window and would like to add exercise once I'm down a bit. Sigh.
