That's awesome that you walked 10miles. I really need to pick exercise back up. I enjoyed the break during P2 and haven't found the motivation to start it again.

I am having a tough time today. I didn't sleep well and my son woke me up really early. I wish I could crawl back in bed.

So far I had 2 eggs and a few bites of of chicken sausage.

Lunch I think I'll have a bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms and onions no bun. Dinner I think I'll do P2 turkey chilly jazzed up a bit!

No nuts or fruit for me today. Trying to drink lots of water too.
Dry crunch for me is something thats crunchy and dry when I eat it. Like pretzels. I know we can't have those on p3. I can't think of what I can have.

Bacon cheese burger sounds mummy to me. I'm pushing fluids now to keep my muscles from retaining water. I hate how exercise is supposed to be good for you yet causes problems on the scale.

Julie- down is down in my book so enjoy it!

Heading school shopping now. Be back later. Have a great day everyone and stay on your plan as these baby steps turn in to great rewards.

Ahh that makes sense.

Would Almonds or some type of nuts be a decent "dry crunch" for you?

Hi, Would you mind sharing your p3 shopping List? I am on my 3rd P3 day and up 3 lbs LDW so far...Frustrated and confused and hungry as hell (wasn't ever this hungry b4 HCG)!

Surejobs-- sorry you're struggling. Can you share a sample menu and we can help. P3 is basically low carb. Are you an Atkins person? I look at p3 as mostly whole foods-meat, yogurt, cheese, veggies. I go high on fat low on the fruit, but others do well w/ plenty of fruit and lower fat. You'll need to experiment on yourself and see what works best for you. Hang in there. It gets easier with time.

Chances are...if you are ravishing hungry...you need to get some good fats in to your system. With HCG...your fat is greatly diminished. Some things to eat are: avocado, coconut oil, full fat salad dressings, etc. Buffalo wings, too.

What are you eating now? Are you adding fattier meats like steaks, sausage (I love italian & also, jalapeno sausage), chicken w/ skin? Making eggs w/ butter? Bacon? Cheese omelets? One of my faves...green beans w/ bacon & onion. Mashed cauliflower w/ butter & cr. cheese. Broccoli & butter or cheese? (Cheese can make some people gain...so use sparingly.) I like to have a spoon of almond butter w/ celery, but not too many nuts...that can cause gains, too.

You will be more satiated with fats.

This thread will help, also.

Phase 3 information for HCG diet

  • Total Carbohydrate 3g
  • Fiber <1g
  • Sugar 3g
  • Protein 5g
so 1/2 cup would give me about 1.5g sugar/carb - doubt that was the problem ... but maybe???

Not 100% sure what did it but I may have gone overboard with nuts yesterday. I had almonds, almond butter, and pistachios. I think it may also be cumulative from the past few days.

I also ate out last night. Definitely going to be strict today - no fruit, no nuts and see what happens.

Also in Atkins induction I think you're supposed to stay under 20 carbs - is it the same for P3?

P2 I miss you sooooo much. This is so much harder!
Eating out will do it to me - probably the extra salt - and this type of weight typically comes off very quickly, so long as I'm careful the next day.

And I love my nuts too - can so easily overeat, so I portion them ...

I add coconut oil to my food - this morning had fat-free cottage cheese with 15g coconut oil, Hi-Lo cereal, and berries mixed in - apparently I can eat this and stay in ketosis (though it follows a 5-mile walk [I'm impressed with the 10-mile walker - WOW! - by the time I'm through with my walk, I'm wringing wet and getting light-headed]).

And in reference to CDs - I have found that a very-modified JUDD plan works for me - that is, whenever my weight starts heading UP, I cut back on my food, going strictly lo-carb.

This time my weight went up because of a planned indulgence - a 2-week riverboat cruise (Germany/France) - I immediately went on P2 when I returned, took off the extra weight within a couple of days then stalled - I'm thinking just very careful eating for a week or 2 would have given me the same results ...

If I decide to try another P2 round in the future, I'm going to be more careful with timing - when your house is full of guests is NOT a good (i.e., easy) time for P2!

Hello ladies! It sounds like most of you are doing great right now. Woohoo!

As for me, I feel like crud but that's to be expected. Bounced outside of my somewhat generous weight window and am therefore correcting (gently) and trying not to get too nauseous.

So I had the grossest thing happen the other day and I can't not share. I was thawing one of those Foster Farms young chickens and was cleaning out the cavity and what did I find? Two huge earthworms frozen inside the liver/heart offal. It was absolutely revolting, not only did I have to toss the chicken but now I am having MAJOR chicken aversions because I keep thinking of the random annelids in with my food. I don't even want to know how two FAT worms could have made it inside a chicken like that, but I'm pretty darn grossed out.

Aaaand that's me lately!

ummm - glad I'm not eating chicken today! Are you sure they were earthworms and not some sort of parasitic worms (which would be even worse!)??

Nice weight loss!

I would suggest that you read up on Atkins/lo-carb eating and give it a try for P3 - you have quite a lot of carbs/sugar [oranges, melba chips, rice, oatmeal cookies] - eliminate them, add some more protein and fat, and I'll bet you would continue to lose ... also, eat something for breakfast, like eggs or meat ...

If you do try Atkins, then you'll be able to add in carbs and find your own threshold, and the extra protein/fat will keep you from getting hungry and craving foods like the oatmeal cookies ...

They looked just like earthworms, one was probably 1/3 inch and the other 1/2 inch in diameter. Same sort of banding on the bodies, too. But yes. It could have been some other kind of worm. Either way I wasn't just going to rinse the bird and call it good. The parts of the worms I could SEE were three inches long. It was just too much for me.

OK~ the general rule for 3 weeks of P3 is no sugar, no starch. I would drop the orange for an apple, no more grissini/melba chips, no oatmeal cookies or rice. It looks like you are still eating P2 style... you need to add fats in there, and up your protein.. like a big salad with avocados and full fat dressing along with a chicken breast, or steak. Eggs and bacon in the morning for breakfast, just no toast!
To get back in your window, you should do a correction day. There are several different correction days (CD's) but the one from Simeons is coffee with cream in the morning, then nothing but water all day until dinner, where you have a large steak (think 12 to 16 oz here), such as a ribeye, and a tomato. You should have a nice drop the next day. Hope this helps!

Welcome back!!! Sorry you're feeling cruddy

Now I don't even think I can do a whole chicken anymore. Chickens do pull earthworms out of the ground...but store-bought chickens usually come from a chicken plant and really wouldn't have access to worms in the ground, do they? YUCK! I despise all worms/snakes...so I am having a hard time with this...LOL

I found a big fat green worm in a bell pepper one time...I still get suspicious of them when I cut into them...lol

Hope you feel better soon

Your menu (all but the cookies & rice) is mainly P2...which is okay, but full-fat meats & fats in general & veggies is what you would have better luck eating. No starch in P3...rices, pastas, melbas, etc... It is mainly low-carb indution eating. The first week of P3 is tricky anyway, without that stuff.

Here is a thread to help you:
Phase 3 information for HCG diet

Suspicious is a good way to put it. I think I'm going to cringe every time I have to cook a whole chicken from here on out! I've discovered that aversions and issues that crop up during my pregnancies are much harder to forget than those that come up other times. For example, when I was pregnant with my second I had just switched my first to soy formula due to supply issues and a milk allergy. And the smell of soy formula or soy formula dirty diapers STILL makes me gag, to this day. It's like an indelible sensory memory

I'm down about the same from my correction yesterday, which involved just not eating of plan. You think I'd learn!

WORMS UGGGHHHHHH!!! That would scar me too!!

Dbunny - Nice CD loss! I need more of those!

Surejobs - I second dbunny's advice. No starch or sugar in P3! The natural sugars in dairy and fruits are okay. Be careful with eating too much fruit that's very high in sugars, though, like mangos and pineapples. Most on these threads tend to avoid them entirely. And eat some bacon, will ya?! Hehehe.

Oh and if you don't want nuts as "dry crunch," you can try toasting coconut flakes (the thicker kind) in the oven with whatever flavorings you want. That's what I do!

Ha ha ha, No kidding. It's hard enough chasing him around as he crawls. He's sooo fast.

He is 11 months. Will be 1 at the end of the month! Time is going waaaay too fast!

Awe, congratulations! My kids are all later walkers, if anyone takes a step before 14 months I'd be completely shocked

I WISH he'd wait a few more months. I'm in no real rush! lol.

He's my little "hulk" baby. He's a BIG boy. Always has been. I think he was about 18lbs at 4 months! He's at least 25lbs now. He started crawling right at 8 months and he's been scaling the furniture for a while now. I wonder if he'll actually be walking by his first birthday? Time to get that fence around our pool. (Should have done it months ago)

This is my little buddy:
