feel awful

Today is day 5 of P2. I am down 7 lbs. And I feel awful. Skin itching all over, even in my eyes. Mood swings too. Any suggestions? I am ready to throw in the towel.

I'm not sure I'm experienced enough to advise you, but I thought I'd ask a few questions, so the more experienced hcg-ers can help:

Injection or homeopathic?

Protocol or Rogue?

Are you splitting fruit and/or protein to create a breakfast or are you eating only lunch and dinner?

How much water are you drinking?

How old are you? Could the mood swings be hormonal?

Have you eliminated lotions? Maybe some baby oil would help your skin. (allowed on protocol).

This is a rigorous plan, I hope you can hang in there!! When I've stopped early I've paid the price, so if you can get some good suggestions and make it 23 days it would be more beneficial.

Wishing you the best! Hope by the time you read this you're feeling better!!

Yes I would like to hear your answers on those questions but it seems to me that youre having an extreme detox rash.... you can get aveeno oatmeal bath and soak in it, they sell indivdual packages at the drug store... it wont hurt you ... I say this because no on eelse in this thread that I know of has had that kind of reaction... the only other suggestions would be open another bottle throw away the one youre using.... just to be safe?

I will be back later to read your answers on the questions please...

I'm not a doctor (not do I play one on TV) but from everything I've read that sounds like candida.

I don't know, but a dear friend of mine had some of these, especially the itchy ears and rectum. If it were me I'd consider eliminating any source of sugar - even the fruit and melba.

I was thinking candida, too -- the rectal itch is a really common yeast detox symptom -- ears, too.

If it is candida, it can take a long time to detox from it -- though most people get through the worst of it in a few days.

A poultice of baking soda and water is a miracle cure for itching -- that saved me during the worst of my yeast detox! I hope you feel much better soon!

I think that a lot of people have problems with hunger, moods, headaches, etc when they first start p2 because of the detox thats going on. Along with that is sugar withdrawal. Sugar is as addicting or more than heroine so you can't expect to feel optimal until you've gotten it out of your system, but most go through a withdrawal first. It's perfectly normal.

Up your water consumption.
Take baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon in a 4-ounce glass of water, several times a day. It is alkaline to your system and will not hurt you, it's just like alka-seltzer without the aspirin or the fizz. It helps your body detox and comforts the system.
I agree with the baking soda poultice, you can also use it like powder in your itchy places.
I also agree with the aveeno oatmeal bath.
I had a very very bad rash and itching my first round. Coffee helps with sugar detox unless you're trying to also ditch the coffee (I would not suggest that, handle one thing at a time) and an aspirin or two will help with the aches, along with the baking soda, as long as you are allowed by your doctor to take aspirin.
You might consider some good probiotics as well to fight it. If it gets really bad, ask your healthcare provider if you are allowed to use any regular over the counter 1% cortisone itch cream very sparingly. It may help you sleep.

Be nice to yourself, try to stay calm, get as much rest as you can. Your body is doing very hard work eliminating the source of the problem, this is the result of that change.
Hopefully you'll be through the worst of it soon!

Detox!!! It is what happens when you eliminate the kinds of food you have just eliminated. You should try to get through it. It will do you worlds of good to get that out of your system. I know it is hard, but you can do it!!! You have gotten some good advice to get through it, I hope you feel better soon!!!

Don't give up! ACV is good to drink to get rid of Candida too. Only get the Braggs raw kind, not just any apple cider vinegar.

You have gotten really good advice! Candida was my first thought, too. What it sounds like you're experiencing is called a Herxheimer reaction. It really stinks. I've been through it.

Don't give up, though. Since you're already partway through it see if you can tough it out. My doctor has me take Activated Charcoal when I'm dealing with die-off symptoms (Herxheimer reaction). You can take 2-3 several times a day. It absorbs the toxins in your system. It's what the ER uses when someone has ingested poison.

Baths in Epsom salts are good, too. I got a really bad rash when I was dealing with die-off and I had to use OTC anti-fungal creams. I don't know, however, if that is an option when you're on HCG.

I really hope this gets better for you soon! You won't believe how much better you will feel when the candida gets under control!!

Susan, where are you?? Come back and give us an update!!

Christy, an epsom salt bath sounds like an excellent idea, and I see no reason why not on hcg, since it doesn't involve any oils.
