Post #175 above.....only round #2 was I ever way too hungry on plan. All other rounds were fine. It was temptation and stresses that got me on the other rounds that caused them to fail. |

Reddy, have you read Weight Loss Apocalypse? It's a book looking at WHY HCG works, and how. The bottom line: if we don't learn to put off eating until we're hungry, then eat when we are hungry and stop BEFORE we are "full," we'll never get healthy. HCG is a tool to get us there. HCG makes our bodies produce Leptin, which removes hunger. Anyway, I'm not going to try and explain the whole thing, and you probably know it. Robin also answers questions on her two Facebook pages, WLA and Mind/Body Method, and her youtube videos are great.
I think one egg plus three whites is a protein serving on Simeons, and on Robin's clinic's plan as well. Robin was basically telling me to add the egg to my "mental platter of Simeon's food" because I was starving, and for reasons she explores much further in her book, that is not good, even if you are losing. She was letting me add it as additional food. And btw, she was given me the whole HB egg. I was just cholesterol paranoid when I gave half the yoke away. I have not yet had dinner (ah-mazing compared to yesterday), so my plan is to try to subtract that much protein from my dinner. If I'm still hungry, I will add it back. The half yolk egg I made (took a hard-boiled egg, sliced it open, took out half the yoke, put it back to together, salt and pepper) is about 36 calories, so I'm not worried either way, and she didn't want me to.

Sorry Dawn!I missed where you said that. Sunday will be a challenge so I'll probably just stay for a short time.
The tough one is resisting the mimosas or wine at the shower. But I'll do it. Buttah,I haven't read Robins book but I often see it referenced here and I know I SHOULD read it. Add it to my list of things to read! |

Well, I didn't subtract the protein from dinner (I could have - I'm a bit too full. Did I just say that?) But I am still at 417 calories. I may skip the other half of an apple and two melbas that I have left if I don't need them, we'll see. All I know is that dang egg saved my life.
I hope you feel better! I was feeling like you are for the first 6. |

Ugh the hunger is really getting to me. I don't think I ate all of my calories so I'm debating having a small cup of broth but I'm afraid to. Esp since ya'll said the stuff I have isn't good. but I think I have to.
I really really really hope this hunger doesn't last the whole round or I'm not going to make it ![]() |

Reddy, which broth is it? I had a cup of Swanson's on day 3-ish, not reading the label past the calories (it had carrot juice, cane sugar, all kinds of crap). It didn't hurt me at all - I don't think one cup exposed me to much of the crap, basically. Until today (.1) my losses have been wonderful.
Also, I wanted to tell the reason it's supposedly not good to try to stave off eating, when you're already hungry. When you do that, often you never quite tackle that hunger - in other words, it remains unbearable all day. Having some of your food when it starts can make the whole day better. I'll shut up now. Feel better, sweetie. |

I just had a small cup of broth (about 1/4 cup) and it was yummy and took a tiny bit of the edge off but I need to go to bed soon or I'm going to head back for more. I feel very weak and out of control today. Hope this passes. The broth is College In FF Beef Broth. I posted in a thread, maybe it was a different one (posting here and P2) and some said it was fine others said not so great. I want to have a bit more but don't want to regret it tomorrow. I have a good feeling I'll be down a litte tomorrow. If not I'll be really disappointed since during P3 I was below where I am now and was eating all kinds of yummy stuff! |

Can you cut it with hot water, so you can have a little more? Throw in some chopped celery? It's not good to be starving.

Oh I totally should have done that. Good idea. I went ahead and had more ( hope I don't regret that tomorrow) it was good but didn't help much. I really am starving- wonder just how much of it is mental? Anyway hopefully I can just fall asleep soon!

Finally started today with Day 1 of loading. DH convinced me to go to the wood grill buffet. He knows I don't really like going there b/c I always feel like at any buffet I end up overeating on things that aren't really all that good. I'd rather go somewhere and get something specific that I really like. I tell him I feel like going to places like that is the equivalent of feeding at a hog trough
This trip was strange for me b/c I'm usually trying to eat from the salad bar and then get things like steak and chicken. Today I tried to eat all the stuff that I usually try to avoid and I must say I felt miserable after. We made the trip to Costco after so I could stock up on meat and produce for the upcoming weeks. I came home and did all of my weighing/dividing so I'll have my portions ready. I tried to create a few marinades for the chicken using my Penzey's spices as a base and then froze them. It will be interesting to see how they turn out. |

I needed help (a different dose, a bit more protein, sleep, still not sure what it was that worked). My heart goes out to you. Remember, in case the broth makes you retain water (which I think is the worst it could do), the round isn't about tomorrow. It's about the whole round. |

buttah--I have the book and just don't follow. Find it very dry and confusing. Maybe because it is on my Kindle. I will have to break down and buy the book one of these days. Finances are extremely tight these days so right now I cannot do so. Just have to do with the videos and fb and the Kindle version.

Parts of it are dry. I agree. I skimmed those originally, but have since gone back and read them. The videos are awesome.
Guys, if you're on RX injections, in your experience, how long until a dose change takes affect? I lowered my dose yesterday and did feel better, but I'm trying to decide if it was a coincidence (it should take three days, no?), getting more sleep, or the actual lower dose. Morning Ladies! Down .6 this morning
I'll take it! Kind of surprised by it actually because I ate a late dinner and went to bed at 1, usually grounds for me to sts ![]() Have my dd's shower at the Melting Pot late this afternoon so wrapping my head around no wine, no cheese and no chocolate and I know this sounds stupid but I feel bad not eating it not because I want it but because the hostess is paying a small fortune for this party and she isn't rich by any stretch of the imagination My dd and I tried to give her other suggestions that were more economically friendly but she insisted, so it is done. I guess I'll just sort of nibble on the veggies, meat, seafood and strawberries. No booze either for me. Hard. I'll be back to posting full steam ahead starting tomorrow. Just busy with wedding stuff. Down 6.3 pounds!!! Wedding is 49 days away! |

I injected late today because I was running late this morning to take my Son to music class so where I usually do it around 10, I didn't do it until 11:30. Hope that doesn't mess with things. Have you all found that if you dose at different times, it messes with your hunger or losses at all? I had a coffee before I left but when I was heading home from class I was HUNGRY. Just had a Strawberry Smoothie and I feel satisfied. Going to have grilled chicken around 12:30. I'm going to save my veggie for an afternoon snack. Tonight I'm going to do Chilli which makes me nervous since as I've said, Tomatoes can cause stalls for me but I'm going to try it anyway. Hoping to be down at least one lb tomorrow so I can feel like I'm TRULY in the weight loss zone. Trying to figure out how to calculate what I've lost so far this round. How do you all count it?Do you include load weight? If I don't count what I gained during loading, then I'd say I've only lost 1.8lbs. But after loading I was all the way up to 171.6 so from THERE I'm down 9.4lbs!!! Which is a good loss for 7 days I'd say. But most of it was packed on last weekend. Ugh. Whatever, I just hope I start losing more and come close to my goal and that my hunger gets under control!!! Last edited by Reddy; 09-08-2012 at 09:01 AM.. |

Stevie, I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon!
As for what weight I count, I don't count the load weight anymore. Mostly because this WL journey began for me in February, and I'm only interested in total losses. To me, the load weight is a necessarily evil, and probably mostly water anyway. Here's my first week: 8/30 - 169.5 LOAD DAY 1 8/31 - ??? LOAD DAY 2 9/01 - VLCD1 172.8 +3.3 after loading 9/02 - VLCD2 169.5 -3.3 (lost all of loading) 9/03 - VLCD3 167.1 -2.4 (-5.7 from load w) 9/04 - VLCD4 165.8 -1.3 (-6 from load w, 3.7 from pre-load) 9/05 - VLCD5 165.1 -0.7 (-4.4 from pre-load) 9/06 - VLCD6 164.1 -1.0 (-5.4 from pre-load) 9/07 - VLCD7 164.0 -.1 (-5.5 from pre-load) REALLY? (injected 125iu) 9/08 - VLCD8 163.0 -1.0 (-6.5 from pre-load) HAPPY But if we're counting load weight, I'm down 9.8 lbs. I decided to do the 125iu's again today, and then tomorrow. So I'll give it three days, and then decide if it really helped. I think it did, but who knows after just one day. |

I feel like if I don't count my load weight then I only lost like 2 lbs which isn't so exciting. Granted I did myself a disservice by loading more days than I should have. Last time I only gained 3 or 4 lbs loading and took it off in 2 days. Sigh I just hope I can reach or come close to my goal this round!!!
