Stats: VLCD9 down 3.5 lbs plus 6.5 lbs from loading
WOE: hhcg
Start Date: began R1P2 on 9/7/2012
So for me it's VLCD7 and I'm actually only down 3 lbs from before loading. Now I did go up 6.5 during loading so I'm down 9.5 from VLCD1 but I was hoping for more overall loss. I did make some mistakes this last week that I won't be repeating.

How much is the average loss for the first week??

There is no average loss for the first week. Some lose 10 lbs, some 13, and some just 5. We are all different!! Do not compare yourself to anyone else or you will be in for some disappointment. You are doing well with almost 10 lbs for your first week.

I agree that everyone is different. Depends sometimes on how much you gain loading! But most people prob lose around 5-7lbs the first week I'd say (though I'm hardly an expert)

Overall most people seem to average .5-1lb for the round and so it all works out in the end.

My first round I averaged about a lb a day. This round it's averaged out to about .5 a day.

Okay, so I'm halfway through my day's menu, and just entered in my likely dinner and evening snack. Simeon's protocol (except I do combine veggies a little bit, like a handful of celery in my chilli - Robin doesn't believe combining matters anyway, thinks it was just Simeons trying to be scientific and rule things out), chicken for lunch/beef for dinner, all the required amounts with the exception of A TABLESPOON of cottage cheese in my shake this morning (I don't use the tablespoon of milk)... along with an extra 7 calories of spinach, I suppose, since I'm not having spinach in either of my meals...

Grand total: 394. What? The only thing I'm missing from protocol is a second WASA, which is only 20 calories.

This is the second or third time this has happened to me. It makes me think Reddy's clinic with different serving sizes for proteins depending on how caloric they are (and some bigger than 3.5 oz) makes a lot of sense.

Didn't Simeons realize his guidelines frequently total as many as 100 under 500?

I know you don't all count calories, but for those of us who do... and who aren't the "not at all hungry" people, this is disconcerting! I want all 500! And I'm already having beef today! Am I supposed to have 100 calories more in veggies?

Reddy, my hunger is manageable. That is the only word. Waking up at 6:30 REQUIRES me to concoct some sort of breakfast (I've done a strawberry/spinach shake two days now) to make it to lunch. And if I stay up past 9, the final 2 hours are hard. But fruit usually does the trick then.

I'm fairly content. I wish I was "not hungry at all." I'd kill for that. But I'm good. Sounds like you're similar.

The girl at my clinic said that if I ha calories left over to use them for veggies. But in your case you could certainly try a bit more protein.. I def eat more protein on my plan than the original protocol!

It's no wonder you're hungry!

Oops, I left off the strawberries. I'm not that far off after all. Had a 3.5 oz burger for dinner, which I find really does help with the hunger. In my normal life, I eat beef about once every six months!

Reddy I so agree with that P4 is important to help avoid yo-yo HCGing! I've watched so many vlogs, and the ones who succeed long term do nice long p3/p4's.

Still, If I have a big apple as my second fruit, I'll be at about 480. And that's with beef for dinner!

Start Date: July 14, 2003 - every day!!
Buttah-yep, I'm with you! I want all 500!! Others are fine w. less, but I have only been under by less than 100cals in all my rounds. I am under 40cals today, but that's ok. I'm actually not hungry. Been out all day and being busy really helps!!

Reddy- Woo-hoo! No/reduced hunger-finally!! SOoooo happy for you!! Way to hang in there!! hope the scale rewards you as well! and hope you enjoyed the photo shoot (and look amazing in the pics!!) .

Chantel- enjoy tomorrow night!! You can repair any damage later. You're doing great!!

ww- Ah, that's not much of a confession . Don't sweat it! It didn't take that long for me to get my pellets. Not sure from where they come . Hope they get there fast!!

Riss-you're losing well!! I wish I were there myself!! Yep, each of us loses differently. I'm only down 8lbs my first week (including loading weight-not even all of it ). You'll be disappointed if you compare your losses to others. You can always find someone who's losing faster, but be encouraged, there are definitely many losing more slowly!

Made chili for dh to take to work tomorrow - cookoff. It's yummy!! Haven't added the beans yet, but used a hatch chile this time - yummy!! I may need to take a small portion for myself before I add the beans. I'm gonna' let it cook all night then add the beans in the morning.

Thanks to all about the reassurance that the pace I'm losing is ok. I was just worried that I wasn't losing fast enough. It was great having those big drops at the start of the week but now it's slowed down. I know the big drops were b/c of the huge gain during loading but I would love to have a few more days like that

Ug, up 1.2 this am.
I have six days left of this round, really looking forward to ending.
I am going into JUDDD and really looking forward to the change.
I just have not been able to have another round as rewarding as my first one with HCG.
I have lost inches, thankful for that, but really hoped to see more results on the scale by this point in the game.
Hope you all have a terrific week!

I'm thinking I may try Judd as some point down the road but going to do p3 and p4 first!!

Nice job! Im down 7, but ok w/ that. We're on the same schedule! I'm jealous of that cooler weather! Enjoy!! The BEST time of the year!

Winders-you're almost done. Hang in there. Did you go off his weekend? That's a big bump while on protocol?

Riss-glad you're encouraged. I'd also like some big drops!

Reddy- I couldn't wrap my head around JUDDD after Hcg. Too much deprivation made me binge on my up days. Works well for many though!!

Those huge drops are so encouraging and then the lower ones, not so much The funny thing is that we get so spoiled by those that we don't remember that we're still losing faster than so many plans! I know I am Not having a great round myself but the scale is going down so I'm going to keep going and see what each day brings. hang in there!

Grrrr.. I hate that! My scales wonky to this roundf, up and down and all around i've never done Judd, may have to give it a review and see if it might be something I can do in the future. Thanks for the reminder about that plan. Hope today takes that gain away with a bunch more!

Regarding JUDDD, not for everyone, but...

Many don't realize there are 30, 35, 40 and 45% caloric restriction options on the calculator which will still bring losses, albeit slower, AND the "maintenance" Down Day percentages of 50-65% calories (which is what you really should be using after an HCG round when the goal is stabilizing, not losing) is quite comfortable for many on an every-other-day basis (for me it's 800 calories Down Days and something like 1800 Up Days, which after doing <500 on DD's seems totally wonderful.) Also most people make the erroneous assumption that you MUST eat all those UD calories. Dr. Johnson states the important thing on UD's is not to stuff yourself (which I believe is the important thing no matter what your WOE).

Anyway, this is the HCG forum, so I won't babble about JUDDD!

It helps to picture the little buggar. My Yabut has hairy eyebrows, bucked teeth and a pointy chin. When I picture him, it's easier to tell him to shut the you know what up.

Typical Yabut claims:

"Yeah, but you're never going to look good anyway. Your body will be smaller, but your skin will droop."

"Yeah, but you lost yesterday, so you can afford to eat that today."

"Yeah, but you're stalled anyway, so what's the difference? It's not working, anyway."

"Yeah, but you gained yesterday, so you might as well throw in the towel."

"Yeah, but you're a total failure, who are we kidding here?"

And so on...

Omg, doing an early lunch and wow, the chicken cabbage soup is out of this world delicious and bulky! Hope the cabbage is fine for me. Ate it a few times last round with no issues so we shall see Btw, to make things super easy and cheap, costco sells a 2 pound bag of shredded cabbage with carrots (not many) for like 2 bucks! perfect.

I went for a walk this morning w. dd(12). It's lovely. I'm ready for it stay in the 80's. 100 again today!! And I play softball tonight at 6:30 in the heat . Are you in Tempe? I can't remember. I'm Gilbert and love AJ's!!

Buttah-good reminder. I may try JUDDD again when I'm more "stable". It's a good plan and it didn't fail. I did . But, all part of the journey. I also like the yabut idea!

Just finished my beef/cabbage soup. I froze my leftover burgers and steak as I'm getting a bit tired of them. I'll have chili for dinner and then I am looking forward to adding more chicken and shrimp to my repertoire tomorrow. Gotta' keep things moving or I get (even more) bored w. P2 foods.

Julie, I'm way North Scottsdale. I have an AJ's super close and love to go there for morning coffee. I bought the AJ's refillable coffee cup and refills are 75 cents. I can't buy k-cups for that price

This is going to be a great week for all of us! I can feel it

Dawn and Stevie, are you guys out there? Stevie, have a fun date night

Yeah, I am here!! As I said, I don't post any in the mornings and barely during the day. I start work at 6AM--I mean I have to be at work and punched in at 6AM. So getting up at 4:45AM is just awful. But it gets me out by 2 in the afternoon. So I sacrifice my sleep. Anyhoo, the scale was more than kind to me this morning. I changed the batteries and stayed on plan yesterday and was rewarded with a 1.2 drop!! Now I am in the 120s...again!!!! Just planning on more of the same for today.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well.

Super easy. I just took chicken broth (I make my own and freeze) and let it simmer, put in shredded cabbage, garlic and a splash of Braggs amino acids let it cook for a few minutes then put in diced up uncooked chicken breast and cook till it is done (super fast when diced fine). Voila, delish.

Wow, that is an early morning! Nice to be off early though and I bet your family appreciates it. Congrats on being back in the 120's. That is awesome

Thanks WW. I keep thinking I have to quit, when I wake up so darned early. But then the bills start coming in and I need gas and so on.......so as long as I can and am able to work, I will. When I am no longer able I will stop. I was thinking seriously of quitting when I was on dishes every day and my back was super-sore. I could NOT do that every day, and if I kept it up I would have had to quit.

PS. I loved it when I had time to browse LCFs every day LOL. What a hoot we had before, eh?
