Lowcarb Golden Ticket
I was reading over some of the older threads and I came across one where a lot of people expressed how Atkins/low carbing had started to fail them. I thought I was the only one! I totally thought the problem was that I was older than when I first did low carb so of course my metabolism had slowed down. About three years ago I remember eating nothing but meat and eggs for two months while doing heavy lifting and I only lost 10 lbs, 2 of which immediately came back when I pushed myself too hard, strained a disc in my back and had to stop for six months. I was so mad at myself, because back in late 04/early 05, the same amount of effort would have lead to me losing 30lbs.
I don't know what I would do if I hadn't found out about HCG. I've tried every way possible to lose weight and nothing's worked, short of a complete water fast (which I've done, but only for religious reasons.) That being said, only 1 friend and you guys know I'm doing HCG. To everyone else, (especially all of my eating buddies at church) I'm doing a detox. ;-) Sooo my question to the world is does anyone know WHY lowcarb only worked for us that one time???? |
i agree l/c started not working for me at all after being on it so long
i just could not lose a pound, i could maintain well, but not lose anymore thank god for hcg! it changed my life! |
I have found that LC has worked for my every single time unless I added in too much fat (ie- meat and eggs).
That said, I'm only 22 and my body pretty much does what I say... lol |

Yes... I must agree. HCG has been a true miracle. Granted...LC works great for me, but it is too slow. HCG truly has gotten me the results I need. I have tried lots of methods...including WLS...but they only work so much when you start at 411 lbs., and life happens... bad habits creep back in. I hit 60 lbs. Lost on HCG today...with 39 more to go!!!

I've found the same thing. Losing by following strict LC doesn't work for me :(. I've maintained about 100lbs lost through Atkins for 9 years, but couldn't get below 175 :(. Hcg has been great for getting me to the "normal" weight range! :high5:

Not only do I not lose on l/c anymore, I gain on it :( This makes me sad, to be sure -- I loved my l/c WOE ... but it never did get me to goal. Plus, I recently discovered that I don't feel good on very low carb anymore .. that was surprising, because for years I felt my best when in ketosis -- but apparently that has changed.
Still looking for the answer to maintenance -- hcg can get me to goal (it has, three times!) but I can't maintain on l/c, even if I am being very strict about it. I've managed to gain back all I lost on hcg, and a little more to boot (granted, that only amounts to a little over 20 lbs, all told.) I did manage to gain a lot of muscle in the journey, so not all is lost by any means, but I am back to needing to lose about 17 lbs again. This time, I am hcg-ing it (rogue style) to goal, and then adding calories very, very slowly, until I find my maintenance calorie level ... I think that is the only way I am going to maintain my losses. |
