What are you *craving* but can't have right now?

I have been craving macadamia nuts and baked/broiled haddock for at least a week now.

I can do the haddock once I get to the store, but the nuts will need to wait.

Nuts and nutbutters (almond & cashew). I find when I am in P2 I crave the nutbutters--probably because of the good fats in them!

It's funny--I eat zucchini on P2 with no problem. Have done so for the past 3 rounds. I usually use this little tool that I got at Bed Bath and Beyond that allows you to make "noodles" out of zucchini and I have "spaghetti" and meatballs!

Here's the tool I use- http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/prod...FYEQNAod_AsA8g

Shhhhh, don't tell anyone but I allow myself 1 Hershey's sugar free dark chocolate miniature a day. I usually eat 1/2 after lunch and 1/2 after dinner

Really?? Maybe I'll give it a shot when I'm not having daily loses. I'm not a big vegetable person, but I love zucchini! I'm getting a bunch of gift cards from Bed Bath and Beyond thanks to my debit card company so now I know what to buy. :-D

I just came back from a get together where there was pizza, chips, cake and soda. I didn't crave any of it... Unlike when I saw the freshly picked zucchini sitting in the kitchen this morning. :-P

I was really craving peanut butter earlier in the round, but not as much now. Bacon and other many other meats that aren't on protocol, butter on anything, cheese, and half-and-half in my tea and coffee! I'm even missing a lot of the low-carb veggies that aren't on protocol.

I know there are some people who follow Dr S's protocol to the T when it comes to what veggies to eat but I simply looked up the allowed veggies and looked at their nutritional values (cals, carbs, glycemic index etc...) and found other ones that fit the bill. I also eat broccoli and cauliflower.

Pasta!

Unfortunately, I think my pasta days are forever over. I've noticed over the past year that any amount, any kind of wheat based- especially whole grain, pasta makes me swell for days on end- in the hands, feet, belly, and face.

This is sad, sad news for a gal who, being half Italian and married to a Sicilian, loves her macaroni's!!

I have been getting used to making a lot of rice-noodle based pad thai type dishes- so, can't wait to eat those again!!

I know corn isn't necessarily great for weight loss but the gluten free corn pasta at Trader Joes tastes exactly like regular wheat pasta! Even my 3 boys eat it with just butter and parmesan and have NO idea it's not regular!

Hey girl, from one italian to another i feel your pain, lol

Giada Delaurentis does an amazing home made pasta with just flour and water belive it or not... I can copy the recipe for you if you like...

And Dreamfields pasta is pretty good but I'm not sure what its made of.

I had to nearly stop eating pasta too, just gained with it not sure why.

I'm totally gonna try the corn pasta. sounds nummy.

French fries. I actually sat at a table in Johnny Rocket's with my family, who ate burgers & fries. I was soooooooo tempted. I resisted and ate my cottage cheese in my cooler when we left the mall instead.

Oh if I could do Broccoli and/ or Cauliflower I'd BE GOLDEN! I don't mind the restrictions on this diet except for the veggies. That's the hardest part for me! I'd love to try one of these and see how I do but I'm afraid to risk it! Maybe if I do another round I'll try that?
