New to HCG - Question about Tea

Hi all, New to HCG and to this forum. I am on VLCD day 3 and have lost 7lbs so far. (Really 5 since 2 were loading lbs)

I have a question about drinking tea. I feel that tea is a great way to get in my water and also make me feel like I'm having a little something when hunger strikes.

Yesterday I went ahead and had about 4 cups all sweetened with Stevia (Truvia actually)

My friend who did HCG said you can ONLY have Green Tea, no Reds, Blacks or White teas and I'm wondering if this is in fact the case. Green Tea is probably my least favorite and I have a cuppboard full of Loose Leaf teas in many flavors but I don't know which ones are breaking protocol.

Can anyone verify whether it's only Green Tea that is allowed?

Also, is there a limit to how much stevia we can have in a day? I ask b/c I had like 4 packets yesterday and I'm worried that it could stall me possibly.

Thanks!

Per original protocol, Dr. S does not specify what kind of tea is allowed and I doubt very much in the 50's in Italy that a lot of people were drinking anything other than black tea. Coffee is allowed so I don't know why tea would be restricted to green tea. Also, Dr. S does not specify the amount of sweetener so unless you find yourself stalling, I wouldn't worry about it. HTH

Welcome!

Thank you! Hopefully I won't have any issues with it b/c I'm really enjoying my tea.

VLCD 3 and I'm finding today the toughest. I'm HUNGRY right now!

The majority of my liquid intake was tea with stevia. I think it's protocol and I think you'll be fine.

ThANK YOU! I drank a TON of tea with stevia yesterday and was down just 1lb today. I know that's not a bad thing but there's a part of me that wonders if the stevia could slow me some b/c I know aspartame can. When I was on atkins I had to limit my sugar substitutes to no more than 2 per day or I'd stall. (I didn't know to use Stevia!)

does black-tea including Nestea in the jar from wal-mart? I believe it says "pekoe" as the tea type on the ingredient list. Like the OP, I hate green tea personally but do love Nestea.
