Good morning! Glad you're all moving down the scale!
Tameka-that's a killer loss! WTG!

Amy-welcome back!! Hope you do well after your vaca interruption. You'll be back down soon.

Berta-I hope your back and leg are feeling better today! That'll be a long car ride w/ a sore back! .

I'm down a lb today, whew! I can see and feel it more than the scale shows yet. I was able to zip up a new pair of jeans I couldn't button and zip last week. that's progress baby! I really dont car as much about the scale. But I wasn't fitting in my clothes and felt " thick" in the middle. I'm starting to feel slimmer again, which really makes me happy. I'm trying to make peace w/ the # on the scale as i've built muscle since my last P2. I do hope to lean out a bit more, but am pretty happy so far!

It is SO lovely to be in a place where I'm really ready to make big changes. Praise the Lord!
Lovely, on all counts!

The best thing you can do for that is take a probiotic. Go to a Whole Foods or health food store and make sure you get ones that are refrigerated. Take a double dose at bedtime when your stomach is empty for the best results. This will put good bacteria back into your system to replace what the antibiotic is killing off. Unfortunately, they kill the good stuff too. That should really help your tummy.

The dingleberry she bought her hhCG from yesterday told her it was OK to do 1200 cals a day...and, it seems that everything I have said to her has gone up in smoke!

I suppose I should let her learn the hard way. Ugh.. she just told me that he also told her that it's ok if she stops taking her thyroid meds. (and no, he didn't run a blood or saliva tests on her either!) This guy needs to be ousted!! I told her she is really playing with hormone fire!!

Well, I'll see her tonight..and try again. If I can't get through to her- she'll have to suffer the consequences. I'll be there without an 'I told you so'- but, boy, will that take some tongue biting!!

I would not be that nice I would say over and over "I told you" "I told you" I told you. Just browbeat it into her that those things would happen and if she had just followed protocol she would be a success! Ah, some of us are nice, and some are not

Well, surprise, surprise...STS I am going to buy a new battery for that scale My uniform pants are now huge on me--yesterday they were just big. So I know inches are coming off. I better receive a nice big whoosh for my birthday on Monday. Because I am sticking to P2 and not going to cheat. That would be the best birthday present ever.

Hope y'all had a great Friday!! Mine was busy. Today is cow appreciation day at Chick Fil A so we were giving away free food. The temptation, again was all around me but I didn't cave. Even working a long hard shift I came home wanting to just gorge my face with chocolate, but didn't. Had my dinky piece of plain baked chicken and apple Chick Fil A chicken is much more exciting!! I should be rewarded on the scale just for the resisting I am doing.

You can resist the temptations, ladies! I have the booth today and the military wives potluck I am babysitting for tonight, in addition to the barbecue tomorrow. NONE of it needs food to be enjoyed, none of it requires cheating. The food isn't that good. I have my own stuff, and my own mission.

Seriously, a clean protocol, every time, is my mission and charge. And then patient, careful maintenance thereafter. Is chick fil a or hot wings better than self control and freedom? I think not! YOU CAN DO IT!

Well, the losses have slowed. I just love the first week, but after that, I feel we fight for every little bit. I am just 5 days in, but today I was only down .4 lbs. (I'll take it!!) Of course, I was up at 5 a.m. and in work by 6, so maybe if I had slept in I would have seen more of a drop. Fingers crossed that is the case tomorrow, with no alarm set.

The other thing I love about this protocol is my grocery bill. Holy cow! I went to the store and bought a week's worth of food for $46.78! That included steak and organic strawberries! I love that!

Starting weight: 169.1
After loading: 172.8 (+ 3.7)
VLCD #1 - 172.2 (- .6)
VLCD #2 - 170.3 (-1.9)
VLCD #3 - 168.8 (-1.5)
VLCD #4 - 167.3 (-1.5)
VLCD #5 - 166.9 (-0.4)

Great loss tameka! I'd pack an apple and maybe some chicken to eat in the car. Nothing served at a reception will be protocol friendly. you are losing so well, you don't want to stall it. Have fun!

I'm pleased to be down a lb today myself! Woohoo! Ya gotta love when the scale rewards you. Actually i really don't feel like I'm sacrificing. I've been home 98% of the time which makes it much easier. No hunger, plenty of energy, very happy! Happy weekend!

No weigh in today.. Last night someone handed me a glass of wine.. which I could have resisted, but didn't. That led to 2 more I did stay OP with food and skipped my evening fruit. I have a horrid hangover, so I am paying for it!

So I survived Bearpaw so far, though I'm going on four or five hours of sleep each night for the past three days. And it went well! This morning I was so hungry I couldn't stand it, despite every intention of continuing on with the VLCD and feeling completely fine about it, my body was getting increasingly insistent on food. I figured that was because my metabolic state has surpassed what the protocol can affect.

I don't think I'm going crazy or off plan, I think I'm just pregnant

Stick number one was the control - it was early enough in my cycle that I figured I'd only get a faint positive from a baby anyway, and I did the test about three hours after taking hCG. So any positive there I chalked up to the treatment.

Second stick was the next day in the early morning before I had taken any hCG. It was twelve hours since my last dose and noticeably stronger. I got suspicious and excited, but wasn't willing to call it yet.

Third test was last night, BEFORE taking hCG and with a bunch of water in my system. I wasn't willing to call it possible false positives anymore, I'm pretty sure that stick is all baby and not sublingual in source of hCG. I told my husband and he was THRILLED!

Are we crazy or do you gals conclude those are true positives, regardless of the hcG dosing?

I had every intention of continuing on the VlCD for another five days and transitioning off, or longer if I felt good, but by the morning I was so genuinely, physiologically hungry that it was distracting. My hypothesis is that the circulating hCG in my system is so high now it is overriding the leptin cues I was having in the protocol and signalling for more nutrition to flood my system, the same way an overly high protocol dose can cause hunger but a lower one does not. I asked my Internet hCG gurus how to transition off safely and they all said there was no point in slowly weaning off hCG when my body was getting ever increasing hits of it, anyway, with pregnancy, and I should go straight to maintenance eating. So that's what I did. I'm following the hunger scale and did marvelously. I couldn't finish my eggs this morning (satisfied after a few bites) and chose not to indulge in the muffins I was cutting for everyone else because I was stressed, but NOT hungry. I had pulled beef, a few chips, two or three bites of potato salad and a small slice of cake at the barbecue and was satisfied and done, but not to the point of needing to burp or let out my belt. It was great and I feel excellently.

So long story short we're expecting baby #4 now and I think it is confirmed by those tests (right? Or am I crazy?) on March 24th. I am spending my pregnancy intuitively eating by Perfect Health Diet/Atkins phase three standards, for the most part, and think it should go just fine. I have never been a gainer during pregnancy, I always watched what I ate, so I'm really excited to see if I lose a little more in the next few weeks or just mostly maintain throughout, except for baby weight.

Yay! I wish I could continue the VLCD, I weighed in at 163.6 today and would have loved to have lost more. But it will come eventually. Bearpaw parade went well, barbecue went well, I'm sick today unfortunately but still survived, and my eat-to-hunger plan worked out marvelously. A winning day, all in all.

Taryl-congratulations! I'd call that a positive ( although I'd stop dosing and retest in 3 days to be sure). The Rx could accumulate and cause the test to show positive, but that's pretty strong! I'm so excited and happy for you!! What a blessing! Hope all goes well!

Yup, I will test again in a few days, I think. I've been feeling increasingly symptomatic besides just the hunger (nausea and diarrhea today, Oy.) but I'm a peestick-a-holic and probably can't resist more tests
