Angela-thanks for sharing your pattern. That really encouraged me today! I'm up 0.2 today, and yesterday I STS, so I'm really hoping to drop some tomorrow. I also mimick you in noticing inch loss when the scale is stuck. Really hoping Simeon's explanation of the water retention while our bodies release fat is true . Taryl-hope you're feeling better and can get more sleep. Are you a mapper? I'm not, but dh can power nap. I'm up 0.2 today but feel and look smaller. I'm riding it out, feel good and in control. A bit disappointed, but certainly not stressing it or tempted to give up. Just hopeful the losses pick up again soon. I have at least 2 more weeks, but my losses aren't usually good week 2-3, so I was hoping I'd be further along on VLCD8. I'm switching the orange out (had this the last 2 days) and will add strawberries instead. I really hope that's the culprit.

Julie--we are twins today!! Up the same in my weight. But still 127 something. Good bye 128's!!!! WooHoo!! I don't know what is up, but I am going to stick to plan. I am not going to let my body think it can rule me. I am going to lose this weight--once and for all. I really do feel like I am losing inches so that is encouraging. My uniform pants are getting so baggy and I had to tighten up my belt a notch!!
Good going all around ladies!!! Keep up the good work! |

As for pregnancy, I'm only 11 days past ovulation and while I'd normally test, because of the hCG in my system I couldn't be sure a positive would be strong enough to be anything but the hCG dose. I've decided I'm truly okay celebrating the next few insane days on protocol and don't need the food to enjoy it. I had a bit of a messed up mindset regarding that and have taken a step back - P2 shall commence, my period is due Sunday, I'll test if it doesn't show ![]()

I'm back down to 164.8 and I have a new theory that I'd sort of spaced on - my period IS due Sunday. Whether I'm pregnant or not I'm still having hormonal swings this time in my cycle that would explain some bouncing. The good news is I am VISIBLY less jiggly in my torso now and my thighs have that loose, fat-on-its-way-out look to them. It always seems to get really loose and strange and then disappear, so even though the scale is bouncing the inches appear to be vacating the premises
This evening is our first shift in the booth at the fair (it's called the Bearpaw Festival) and today is frantic setup for it. Fortunately a friend is responsible for that and she'll only call me if she needs assistance, but knowing the busyness is finally upon me after months of planning is a little stressful. I'm following Robin's advice though, and letting myself FEEL the emotions without needing to run to food. I've been getting better and better at that, but now I'm consciously doing it and setting out to enjoy the people and process completely independent of food, except for water and the gum in my mouth. I was a skeptic, but Weight Loss Apocalypse really is a gold mine of a book. Not just for hCG, but ANY diet. I maintain well enough, but this feels a bit like a piece I've been missing for ages, even though I as FIRST introduced to leptin and the hunger scale when I began my weight journey, I'd forgotten how useful it is. And so I've come full circle |

If you are wanting to mix the pellets and drops I think that is OK. I have not done that but have heard of others doing it. I think some have pellets at work and the drops at home so they are less likely to forget taking them. I have also heard that some that take the pellets do better on a 3/2/3 schedule. Maybe you can try that dose? I would try that first and then go from there. Less is better when trying to find out what dose to use. Good luck!!!

![]() The other two that are amazingly useful and in the same vein are -The Don't Go Hungry Diet by Amanda Sainsbury-Salis (one of the foremost researchers on leptin, her book is like Robin's without the hcg component and an incredible, sensible read) and -The Perfect Health Diet by Paul and Shou-Ching Jaminet. That one is probably the most well researched and nutritionally balanced diet I have seen, with every key nutrient in the sweet spot between deficiency and toxicity, and very non inflammatory. I also has ketogenic fasts included, which is a useful tool. I am doing my maintenance with the Perfect Health Diet by Robin and Amanda's satiety scale principles. It's like the perfect triad, but it took me three years to come upon all three resources. I started my journey with the Don't Go Hungry Diet and got away from it, which was stupid. But I became convinced I could lose faster with the calorie game. Unfortunately that was true, but it also enabled continuing my food and emotional issues and taught me to ignore my body's cues. Bad ju ju. Now I've come full circle thanks to Robin reminding me of what is crucial for maintenance. I wasn't ready to enact all that information a few years and 90-some odd pounds ago, but I am now |

Girls
I have a question. I am going to be doing PH3 for a week.I need to know how much is to much? I mean DR.S doesn't give a portion size so how do you know when you're eating to much? I don't want to gain. I am going to try eating the meat and veggies, butter and cream sour cream etc. But should I eat till I am full or just eat a normal serving like 1/2c and 4oz of meat I am open to suggestions! I had my bacon today and burnt it . I thought I was going to passout . Then the skillet came down and hit me on my leg and burned it.Now I have blisters all over the front of my right leg.![]() Just great for starting my vacation . I think I am ok... but boy I wasn't sure at first. I certainly am sore and my back really hurts but I will be ok. I think I will go to the Dr. before we leave.I'll check back and let you all know if I did any damage. I also jammed my left big toe into the closet now it feels sore too. OH the joys of getting old![]() |

Oh Berta
sorry you had a rough morning. I would do a nice P3 if you are going to do an interruption. That means eating like you did on your last P3. Eat lots of meat, veggies and good fats. Just make sure you don't have any sugars or starches. You really shouldn't because of your diabetes anyway As to portion sizes, Simeons puts no limits on those. Eat til satisfied. But not too stuffed You have been there and don't want to do that again. Feel better soon. |

Yikes, be careful, Berta! No black eyes before vacation, yes?
For calories, eat to your hunger and use 1500-1800 as a guide. At your weight and age that may be a little low to just about right, but it is a good starting point. Eat more if you are still genuinely hungry and eat less if you have no hunger. |

Yes we have rented a room at the Marriott in Wichita .We will be home the 20th which then I will return to PH2 for awhile. I have stayed the same for three days now 2lbs under my ldw of 254.8. So that means so far on this round I have lost seven lbs. As I was 260.6 upon starting.I am hoping to loose more when I get home.I ask above but Taryl hasn't seen it yet... so do you know if baby snap peas are on PH3?I have some cooking in with butter and cauliflower BUT if they aren't I will dig mine out for DH.Last edited by Berta48; 07-12-2012 at 02:36 PM.. |
