This morning I was so hungry I couldn't stand it, despite every intention of continuing on with the VLCD and feeling completely fine about it, my body was getting increasingly insistent on food. I figured that was because my metabolic state has surpassed what the protocol can affect.

I don't think I'm going crazy or off plan, I think I'm just pregnant

Stick number one was the control - it was early enough in my cycle that I figured I'd only get a faint positive from a baby anyway, and I did the test about three hours after taking hCG. So any positive there I chalked up to the treatment.

Second stick was the next day in the early morning before I had taken any hCG. It was twelve hours since my last dose and noticeably stronger. I got suspicious and excited, but wasn't willing to call it yet.

Third test was last night, BEFORE taking hCG and with a bunch of water in my system. I wasn't willing to call it possible false positives anymore, I'm pretty sure that stick is all baby and not sublingual in source of hCG. I told my husband and he was THRILLED!

Are we crazy or do you gals conclude those are true positives, regardless of the hcG dosing?

I had every intention of continuing on the VlCD for another five days and transitioning off, or longer if I felt good, but by the morning I was so genuinely, physiologically hungry that it was distracting. My hypothesis is that the circulating hCG in my system is so high now it is overriding the leptin cues I was having in the protocol and signalling for more nutrition to flood my system, the same way an overly high protocol dose can cause hunger but a lower one does not. I asked my Internet hCG gurus how to transition off safely and they all said there was no point in slowly weaning off hCG when my body was getting ever increasing hits of it, anyway, with pregnancy, and I should go straight to maintenance eating. So that's what I did. I'm following the hunger scale and did marvelously. I couldn't finish my eggs this morning (satisfied after a few bites) and chose not to indulge in the muffins I was cutting for everyone else because I was stressed, but NOT hungry. I had pulled beef, a few chips, two or three bites of potato salad and a small slice of cake at the barbecue and was satisfied and done, but not to the point of needing to burp or let out my belt. It was great and I feel excellently.

So long story short we're expecting baby #4 now and I think it is confirmed by those tests (right? Or am I crazy?) on March 24th. I am spending my pregnancy intuitively eating by Perfect Health Diet/Atkins phase three standards, for the most part, and think it should go just fine. I have never been a gainer during pregnancy, I always watched what I ate, so I'm really excited to see if I lose a little more in the next few weeks or just mostly maintain throughout, except for baby weight.

Yay! I wish I could continue the VLCD, I weighed in at 163.6 today and would have loved to have lost more. But it will come eventually. Bearpaw parade went well, barbecue went well, I'm sick today unfortunately but still survived, and my eat-to-hunger plan worked out marvelously. A winning day, all in all.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That is such awesome news! I hope you have a great pregnancy! I'm sure everything will work out just fine regarding transitioning on protocol. Would a blood test at the doctors be more conclusive?

Ugh. My belly really wants to be back in P2. I haven't been very hungry and what I do eat has been giving me bathroom issues. I hope my tummy settles soon. Did anyone else have this problem, and how long did it last?

I did after finishing my first round I could not stay out of the bathroom. I came here and posted about my woes and was told to try probiotics. I had some in the house and took one before I ate my next meal. Viola!!! My food finally stayed in me!! I was so worried I would gain because nothing I was eating was staying with me, therefore I got no calories!!! I stuck with 1 probiotic before every meal for the next 3 days, then tapered it off to once a day after that. Worked like a charm!

Hello everyone! You wouldn't believe the day I had yesterday. Went to the Stampede (rodeo and fair) and met this amazing guy in the barns who I spent the evening with. We watched the chucks together, had dinner together (completely off plan), fed each other mini donuts (so corny right?!), he somehow snuck away for a minute and bought me a rose and surprised me with it, then we went out to his family's ranch and had a campfire with them and we laid in a field watching fireworks and looking at the stars. It was so romantic. I haven't been this happy in years. Unfortunately he lives like 3.5 hours north. We said a few things over text messages today but I don't think he's big on texting so who knows. I'm not sure if it was just a passing night, or if it will turn into something more, but I'm SO happy that it happened because it made me realize that there really is life after my ex. Out of the 160,000 people that were at the stampede yesterday, somehow the two of us found each other in the stinky barns looking at horses. LOL!

Oh and I'm down to 183.6 today. The loss is probably a combination of the 10 hours of standing/walking/running through fields at the ranch and the heat at the fair grounds yesterday. I figure I'll probably bounce back up tomorrow due to the corn dog and mini donuts. I totally deserve the impending gain.

Unfortunately, they kill the good stuff too. That should really help your tummy.
Will do! I was waiting for the impending storm from the antibiotics but NOTHING has happened.

Awe, thanks ladies! After a few rough months of no conceiving it was very welcome news, even if the timing was surprising.

As for a blood test, I'm honestly not worried. I'll give it a few days and test again, but to be on hCG for over two weeks before the first test was even taken, I can't see any mechanism by which it would suddenly increase that much in test adherence (they're all from the same lot) or symptoms over the last few days. I usually don't bother going to my OB or midwife before the end of the first trimester, anyway, a blood test won't tell me anything I don't already know or can't ascertain from symptoms (the good and bad type).

That's really common. Yogurt or probiotics helps, as does some Imodium!

I forget you haven't 'known' us very long and probably haven't been to my blog. I have had three children in three and a half years, as well as two miscarriages, the most recent back in October before I began the protocol. This makes baby number four. I feel like an old hand since I've had a new baby every 14-20 months since right before my first wedding anniversary. In fact, this age gap has been driving us nuts because my youngest is 21 months - in our world, that feels really OLD to not be expecting another until just now

You will have to tell us how this official date goes - it sounds like you two hit it off amazingly!

I know right! It's all this confidence from the weight loss. I would have never gone to the rodeo alone in the first place thinking "hey maybe I'll meet someone", never mind spoken to a cute guy first like I did yesterday with Mr. Rodeo.

I'm going on a coffee date tomorrow with a client's son. And then on another date on Monday with an old guy friend.

Awwww yeah!

Good morning!

Sounds like everyone is having a good weekend! I have been taking it easy, no exercise, nothing strenuous. I think I've settled into this round quite nicely, one week into it. No hunger, and so far, no cravings. I'm sure they will come as time passes, but so far so good! Now if I can just keep it up and coast along, I will be a happy camper. I lost .8 today, for a total of 8 lbs. this round. That's a little over 1 lbs. per day average. I know I can't keep that up, but it's a nice start.

Have a great day!

Starting weight: 169.1
After loading: 172.8 (+ 3.7)
VLCD #1 - 172.2 (- .6)
VLCD #2 - 170.3 (-1.9)
VLCD #3 - 168.8 (-1.5)
VLCD #4 - 167.3 (-1.5)
VLCD #5 - 166.9 (-0.4)
VLCD #6 - 165.6 (-1.3)
VLCD #7 - 164.8 (-0.8)

Good morning ladies!! Well i went to the wedding yesterday but i had to eat i was there for 7 hrs. I had eaten chicken breast wrapped in romaine lettuce before i left. There was nothing there on protocol so i ate 5 swedish meatballs(wiped off the sauce),2 strawberries & greenbeans. I didnt even get up to watch the cutting of the cake(too much temptation). I only had 64 ounces of water the whole day and didnt sleep well last night so i was expecting a gain. I woke up early and couldn't go back to sleep so i weighed myself and im still at same weight. I didnt lose or gain, i hope this doesn't throw me of my losing streak!!! Manders that is awesome that you are putting yourself out there. Take chances girlie!!! Happy releases everyone!!!

I am down to new low numbers for this round!!! Yeah!!! All I can say is it is about time LOL. Whew!! I thought my 3rd week was going to suck as it always does. Well, it still sucked as I could have lost more, much more this week. But at least I am ending it at lower numbers than I started the week! I hope week #4 has good things in store. Still have 11.6 lbs to get to goal. That is doable in less than 14 days, right???!!!

Happy Sunday!!!! I cannot wait for tomorrow! Even though I am in P2, it is my birthday. I get so excited when it is my birthday. It will all be good--P2 or not!!! I have steaks defrosting for dinner and think I will have shrimp as my other protein. I haven't had shrimp yet on P2, so I am looking forward to it!!!

Here is my weigh in....197.5 lbs! I'm below my starting wt !!!! Lost 1.8 from yesterday again. For a total of 5.3 lbs (from loading wt). I've never had losses like this before. Guess I'm doing something right.

Great job, Tay!

When the schedule is weird, staying the same is a victory, Temeka! I'd call that an excellent job. Just get in a little more water today

Chouter - yay! Those are great numbers - just keep doing your thing and the scale will take care of itself.

As for me, I'm not actually on P2 anymore, but my weight was still down to 163.2. Woohoo! I'm eager to see how much excess I can drop with Robin's hunger/satiety scale at work. Thanks to that I didn't even eat dinner despite 'wanting' dessert, because my stomach was still feeling filled from the food earlier. Not uncomfortably so at all, but there was NO hormonal need to eat, so I didn't. The more I work on this the more automatic it becomes, I'm just having to be mindful.

And I'm horribly nauseous, unfortunately. I was hoping I'd be able to have another week or two without morning sickness but the past two days have been queasy city. Ugh.

SOunds like everyone is having a pretty good weekend! Yay~ romances, babies, scale victories... AWESOME!
I am down .5 today, so that makes 15 in 10 days. Would love to lose 15 more in 20 days... but I will be happy wherever I get to.

hey ladies! Such good news out there! Babies, boys and negative numbers!
Whoop-Whoop!!!

I am down 11lbs today. And today would be day 8. Not too shabby! I am stressing about about next weekend...we have a wedding to go to, but I think in the grand scheme of things, it will only be 1 meal that i don't have much control over. i'll just do the best i can. It's the booze that is worrying me! LOL

I sort of accidentilly did apple day yesterday. I was out shopping and brought 2 apples with me and well....that's all i ate until a dried up piece of chicken and a tomato at dinner. Oh the belly did not like that today! I'm thinking if i ever get stalled...an apple day is not the best option for me! lol
