Hey Sunny,
Happy Beach Day, my most favorite place in the world to be No stress over food is exactly why I went No S and that is really working. If this ends up being a sustainable WOE I'll be in heaven. I can tell you it's not a quick weight loss plan. But I, like you, don't have that much to lose. So if this will eventually get me there without the OCD lifestyle ![]() |

Stopping by to say hi!! Thanks to mini for starting a great thread/group!!
I'm off the pellets. I was reminiscing in the rogue thread that way back in March of last year I started my 1st hhcg round...and I'm at almost exactly my post-load weight today. Up and down, never able to stabilize. So, I hope to find companionship and guidance here! I'm not going as low as Atkin's induction levels, but since I don't eat grains, sugar or fruit, it will be fairly low. I just need to find a calorie balance that will allow me to release the 25 or so pounds of fat I need to get rid of! I do strength training 3x a week, and I'm resisting (lol) aerobic work, but I know I need to get some of that in, too! My 1T of CO is non-negotiable, and I *might* even try to get that up to 2, but it tends to give me digestive upset too much over the 1.

Well I just demonstrated to myself the strengths and weaknesses of my lift squat routine. Could not even do the Pilates Abs today but could repeat the arms no problem. We'll see day after tomorrow how the legs did from today. I knew I needed some extra work on the Abs, but oh my
Just picked some fresh tomatoes to enjoy with my cheese quesadilla for breakfast. ![]() |

I am jealous of your beach day Sunny!! I live in landlocked Illinois booo....
Today after my hour long hike I had coffee/cream, some protein 'cake', and for lunch I had tuna salad with pickles. I have decided to stay off the scale and only weigh once a week. Not sure what we are off to do today, but it will probably involve Jeepin' or swimming or both. I hope everyone has a safe and fun Fourth!! |

I should weigh once a week too...I know when I will gain, and when I will maintain.
Like tomorrow I might gain not because of the small amount of grains this am but cuz of the BBQ, even though hubby is making a sauce it does have a tad of molasses and pure honey from a local bee keeper But that's ok, because I know what's in it and it's all pure stuff 'cept for the dark molasses ![]() After reading some of the new Atkins info I know I will lose, slowly but surely on induction just not sure how much more once I hit LIW of 135....we shall see! I'm learning to live ya know? I don't want to be a slave to HCG and it consume my life. I will never be skinny, but being a size 7/8 & 9/10 in petites is pretty darn good for me and I know I'm healthy, that's the best part Happy 4th everyone!!

Happy 4th everyone!
Sunday, I am also wondering about the water retention being due to some underlying problem -- I suspect it is due primarily to perimenopausal hormone wackiness, and the weight training, and rather dramatically increasing calories, all combined. Also, the Lyme disease is an inflammatory illness, so I battle inflammation all the time, even though the Lyme is mostly in remission. I have had my thyroid panes done -- good ones, too -- and it checked out fine. I suspect adrenal fatigue, though -- I don't have insurance to cover a good doctor right now, sadly -- I have a wonderful doc, but I can't afford her in any way with my current finances. So, I am pretty much on my own at the moment. I've known others who have had this happen to them, so I am trying not to freak -- just waiting it out and doing all the tricks I know for decreasing it ..

Lynne!!!!!!!! So glad you are here too
I suspect perimenopause is a big player for both of us, given your problems with stalling, etc. I'm not giving up -- but I do think I need to steer clear of the hcg, no matter how tempting it is to try it again. I'll give the Atkins induction levels a few weeks and see how it goes -- my guess is that it will work fine once my body adapts. It certainly did arrest the crazy hunger quite quickly, and that, alone, is really promising. Sunny, hope your beach day was great! You seem to have a very sane approach to low carbing, and also a very sane attitude in general. LOVE that! I'm so glad all of you are here to join in this journey with me!!! |

Good Morning All!
Well I just dropped my car off and the repair shop, the light came on again. It seems to be running okay so not sure what the deal is now. I just spent $700 to fix it last week. My refrigerator is being delivered today so I had the day off. Hope to be up and running at a 100% by the end of the day. It will be very nice not to have to cart ice home every day. After I get all this behind me and am capable of normal eating I will consider what my direction is from here. A lot will also depend on Friday’s weigh in. |

Terri hope your car is ok!!! And enjoy the new fridge
I am at 140.4, so I STS...surprising being I had my couscous, lunch was two roasted chicken thighs, and I had one huge ear of sweet corn with my BBQ ribs. I also had three glasses of wine. HOWEVER I did clean yesterday and danced (yes being latina we just dance around the house if good music is on lol) for a good 30 minutes to latin music while hubby was cooking, got that heartbeat going so I think that was why I didn't gain. Today I'm lazy, went to the beach in the am and it was so hot it drained me. Now just lounging on the couch, read a bit....I'm excited to get started on Atkins at the end of July...hope it helps me lose these last 10! That would be awesome Mini, thanks babe, I had to be calm about it because I am trying so hard to not let food run my life anymore. Weighing in at 180 at 5 ft nine months ago wasn't fun. Emotionally and physically. As I've said in other posts, wearing a bikini out in public is my motivation. I already own 4 different pairs lol....and having a tan belly for once if pretty cool ![]() Have a good day ladies Last edited by SunnyFL; 07-05-2012 at 10:02 AM.. |

NICE about the no gains, Sunny! I love to dance, to just about any kind of music
Terri-- hope the car is ok! Owning a vehicle can be really expensive (which is why I don't have one) -- but it is a pain getting errands done without one. WHOOOhoo for the refrigerator, and I am hoping for a good weigh in for you! My water weight is finally starting to drop off -- there is still rather a lot of it, but definitely better than yesterday. My big challenge right now is just to keep eating -- not freak out and run to some other plan -- just, eat, and trust that the initial water gains are going to drop off once my body realizes it isn't starving anymore. I think my body will heal if I just do that, and give it time and patience. My inner thighs are SORE today from my workout two days ago. I tend to get second day soreness with weights workouts. |

LOL about the videos! I actually used to teach aerobics, when I was an aerobics freak in the 80s (I pretty much hate straight aerobics now, though).
For inner thighs, Bar Method Super Sculpting is absolutely killer! You use a squeeze ball, and bodyweight exercises, and it blasts the inner thighs something fierce. I'm actually sore today from lifting, though -- I think it was the deadlifts that did it -- I wasn't going all that heavy (50 lbs on a barbell) -- but was really concentrating on form, and my legs engaged a lot. Weighted side lunges do a lot for inner and outer thighs, too. |

I am going to go get some new yoga pants -- something that I can wear in and out of the gym, and that are stretchy and forgiving enough to see me through all these weight ups and downs while my body adjusts to eating again, and yet will fit later, too.
I'm uncomfortable in all my clothes at the moment, and this will help in the interim -- plus, all my comfies need replacing anyhow -- they have holes, paint on them, and so forth. |

Sunny -- I totally hear you about not letting food run your life anymore -- I am there too. That is exactly why I can't stand the idea of calorie counting forever -- or any other eating plan that leaves me emotionally messed up, or feeling weak, or obsessing, etc. etc.
Atkins works for me on all fronts, so that is the plan of choice for the moment. If it works to get me back where I want to be, it'll be the plan of choice forever. |

Seriously!
Actually, you could only have half of it -- my sweetie (who was also mugged by the @ss bandit) has dibs on at least part of it, lol. He used to have the nicest butt -- all round and plump and really rare for a guy... but then he lost 45 lbs (not on purpose) and now his @ss is gone. (He had nicknamed it Mas Profundo, even, lol). He is trying to power eat right now to gain some back, but it isn't getting us very far. |

Oh I wasn't offended.... just, well, didn't want to get involved. ask Mini. I'm over on another thread and well, just got too relaxed, I guess you'd say. I'm usually a shy person and don't post much personal stuff. but nice butts, well... we could talk for hours and compare. LOL.
(o I love football pants.) and now, Mini, I am going to bed. really. for sure. (bad Suzi...) |

Hey Cheryl, GREAT to see ya, I've missed you!! What's new?
Welcome Suzi! Football pants are the only thing I can seem to follow during the game ![]() Hang in there Mini, give it some time. It's just coming around. Don't let it go now!! You can SO do this!!Sunny, hope I get some of your "wine cheat". I had a few glasses tonight celebrating getting back to normal kitchen. So my fridge came. Whatever was worth saving is in it, but not much worth taking the chance on. At least the ice chests are gone. Cleanest fridge I've had in years I have the car back; it appears to be a sensor so it'll probably light up again. Not sure what it'll cost then but I know it'll be cheaper than a new car.So tomorrow is a big weigh in for me. I have a fridge now. I've been following the rules of No S now for almost three weeks. I'm trying not to be a flighty, but I would like to see some downward movement now. Since I had an extra S day with niece's birthday, plus the challenges of not having a fridge, I'm not looking for miracles, just downward movement. ![]() |

Hey mini and everyone, just saying "hi"!! I'm post-hhcg...not sure when or if I'll ever do another round. As excited as I was for 3 rounds (over about 1 1/2 years) I realize now that my close-to-50 metabolism might have been over-wrought by the low calories, so I'm "between plans" right now. Still using the medifast foods, only because I have a ton and they are soooo easy. I know, they need to go!! I need to follow mini's example and rely on whole, natural, low carb foods!! Old habits are hard to break!! Perhaps I'll go more into my history with mf another post.
In the mean time, wishing everyone a wonderful evening!! |
