P3 tomorrow-PANIC!
I am starting to freak out about P3! I love it and did so well on R1 in P3. Stabalized 1 lb under LDW but R2 was a mess, I ate fats throughout P2 and didn't do P3 right.
This round was much like R1 but I never added cococrack in like I did that round. I over think everything and that is my problem. Today I had some watermelon, caused me to bloat and have a burning tummy and now I feel like the 7lbs I lost are all going to come back....grrr. I wanted to lose just 3 more but could not do it any longer. I think I can get them off working out and following Paleo but I am afraid of P3 this time for some reason!

Watermelon is way too high sugar for P3, you're setting yourself up for issues like that. Stick to low sugar fruits and small servings of them - berries, grapefruit, lemons, sparing apples (the fiber in them helps offset the sugar load). Don't even TOUCh a starch. Atkins Induction vegetables are the absolute best bet. Get plenty of fat from oil, meat, and butter. Go lightly on dairy and nuts until you know if they cause inflammatory issues with you.
Then it is just a matter of bearing with it until you stabilize. No need to freak out, but for your sake do it right. Then it's a breeze ![]()

Hey lady - take a deep breath.
I'm jumping in P3 tomorrow - my 48 hours are up at 6:30am tomorrow. ![]() NO MORE watermelon! (At least for now..) I'm sure if I ate some of that or pineapple I would have some massive cravings. Make sure to keep posting so we can keep each other in check! ![]() |

Bumped up today - dangit! How am I already at LDW+3.5?! Ugh. Tummy issues and icky yesterday so I'm going to ride it out. GY and apple for breakfast, lunch will be on the plane - bringing red peppers, cucumbers and celery. Going to drink LOTS of water in hopes to not gain some flight weight. Dinner BBQ food something as far as I'm aware. If no options I have tuna packets. I'm bringing the scale with me so I'll be updating and doing what I can!
What's your plan for the day AV? |

Hi MissLatte!
So sorry you are up, do you think it is the dairy or the travels? I did okay yesterday, lots of protein but also a lot of berries/ I also had 3 BIG glasses of wine!! I am up today but still below LDW. I hope you are doing better today! So far I have added bacon, avacado and coconut oil. Saturday I will be testing almond flour. I made coco crack with stevia and yucko! I try so hard to like stevia but it is TERRIBLE. AND it make my tummy sick! |

Mornin venti! (Whenever I see your name it makes me think coffee
Travel does NOT like me. Up up up up today. Going to try to do a pseudo protein correction day if possible... eating my tuna packets and will focus on protein only for food. Probably some coffee with hwc too. At this rate I'll need to jump back to P3 when I'm home. Not fun to have to do this while on vacation Any input or suggestions? |

I think the same thing. Former Starbucks barista here ![]() You know where my mind wanders. Venti mocha breve, please for me ![]() Did you mean P2--aren't you in P3 now? I am confused ![]() For traveling, I did well when I did my first round, stopped P2 and went away for a week. I brought some food with me that I didn't know if I could find in NJ though. It was a 12 hour car ride and I didn't have any trouble retaining water because I drank the whole time in the car. When I got to my SIL's house I ate P3 style. I had eggs bacon and cheese for breakfast, tunafish salad for lunch, berries and cream cheese muffins for snacks and salads with meat for dinner. Easy peasy!!! I stabilized quite easily! What is it you are eating now?

Dawn - I'm in P3 now and very much out of window, ALREADY. Oops yeah - I meant jump back to P2.
Food yesterday - was kind of a mess (in my opinion) because I usually have 3 meals - b/l/d. Not so much yesterday. venti iced americano with sf mocha/hwc Steak fajitas (probably retaining water) 2 apples (really wanted to keep these from P2) |

Yeah, the not eating regularly will do that. But it does sound like you are eating OK. I would just do the best I could and fix any damage when you get home. Enjoy your time away. Is this vacation or business travel? I hope you are at least having fun!! Anything you do while away can always be fixed!! No worries!!
By your menu you might not be eating enough. I know it sounds crazy, but you need AT LEAST double the amount of protein you were having in P2. So up your foods!!! And chug water!!! Do not slack on the water. Just as much as you were getting in P2 is what we should aim for in P3. Last edited by dawnyama; 07-06-2012 at 08:19 AM.. |

For me, 2 apples in a day is just too much sugar. And I know that my daughter, who has insulin dependent diabetes cannot do apples too often. Even though at 11 years old she loves them! Or at least I won't let her Spikes her blood sugar too much.Wow what a drag. Great that y'all still met up at least. Have a blast!!! |

Thanks for your feedback Dawn - those were the first things that I was thinking about getting rid of. No weigh in today - I didn't want the scale to change how my mood started out the day. I will eat LC today (no apples) and focus on some CDs and clean days when I get home. We're going to a lot of LC unfriendly places so it's been difficult.
The crew is going for Indian food (again) so I'm going to completely and thoroughly enjoy my tuna packet. Oh joy. Next up is to find a Starbucks - there aren't as many as I'd hoped. Tim Horton's isn't cutting it for me. I'm an Americano snob I guess. ![]() ![]()

love love LOVE americanos from Starbucks
Sorry you are having issues Misslatte, I am sure once you get back home you will have much easier time.raveling can be tricky for me with food too, I never want to bring food along but try to make the best choices I can. But I know it is hard! I was doing well at 1.5 lbs below LDW but yesterday I made my girlfriend some lemon balls for her bday and I might have had several too many All legal but too much almond flour too soon! I am not going to blame the almond flour just yet but instead blame the fact that I had about 6 of them so probably about 3/4 cup almond flour total....yeah....SO I am up almost the full 1.5lbs today but still right at LDW. Today I am cutting fruit. I have been having berries or grapefruit once or twice a day but will focus on protein, fat and vegs today. Seemed to work well after I had a similar gain when I had wine on the 4th of July. Still loving P3 Hope you all are having a great weekend!! |

agentventi--I love including my fruit in P3. I have heard that citrus fruits help with burning fat--Dr Simeons' included the lemon juice and grapefruit and orange on his food list for a reason
I have kept those in my P3s just for that reason alone!! But I think for correction days, you can do away with the berries! I love almond flour and it is so easy to overdo on P3. The stuff tastes so good!!! I have to watch out too. I have done the cream cheese muffins in P3 and found that in later rounds I have had to cut back. Such a shame because they are easy make ahead and snack on kind of treats Good thing my kids love them too. |

So I will share a recipe that I got and tweaked because it is uh-mazing... (Dawn, you MUST try these when you get to P3--they are screaming your name!) I LOVE almond butter but wasn't sure about it as the base for brownies. You cannot even tell it's in there.
Chocolate Brownies 1 16oz jar of creamy roasted almond butter 2 eggs 1/2c sugar-free syrup 3/4-1c granulated sweetener (Just Like Sugar, xylitol, erythritol, Splenda, stevia or combo)--taste batter and tweak as necessary 1/2c cocoa powder 1/2t celtic sea salt (omit if using salted almond butter) 1t baking soda 1c sugar-free dark chocolate chips (I LOVE Nevada Manna sold by Netrition) Pre-heat oven to 325. Grease a 9x13 pan well. Blend almond butter and eggs with electric mixer until smooth. Blend in sweeteners, alternating liquid and powder. Blend in cocoa powder, salt (if using), and baking soda. Fold in chocolate chips by hand. (Batter should be somewhat thick.) Pour into pan and spread as evenly as possible. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. 24 servings. If I am figuring it correctly, 162 calories, 14g fat, 8g carbs/5.5g fiber (2.5 net), 6g protein.

Can we have chocolate chips on P3??? Oh please please tell me YES!
I have a jar of almond butter and I have really tried to like it and I just don't I even whipped up some coconut butter to mix with it....still yucky. I figured I could make these brownies with it rather than tossing the whole jar! |

You can as long as you get sugar free ones. They're available in some stores, on Netrition, or you can make your own! There should be a recipe or two for that floating around :]

And CocoaP is exactly right--sugar-free chips ONLY in P3 but the sf Nevada Manna ones are great and no maltitol which messes up my stomach 6 way to Sunday.Cocoa - have you ever made these WITHOUT the chips? i was thinking about trying them with macadamia pieces instead... Quote:

Yes I have! I think the chips serve as an extra chocolatey richness if that's what you want, but I've substituted with nuts and even peanut butter chips...oh man THAT one was dangerous..
