Food didn't sit well with me yesterday. I ended up getting about 1000K in, but I had terrible rumble tummy. This morning I was at 137 even. I still don't have much of an appetite, but we're going out, so I will eat something. I had the same breakfast today as yesterday, but no lunch. *shrugs* Guess this P3 is going to be a trip!

Last night we went out to the winery. I got filet mignon, which comes with potatoes and vegetable of the day, which was broccoli, as well as a salad. I asked to hold the potatoes, so they doubled the broccoli (which was a TON of broccoli). I got the Caesar salad - gave my (home made) croutons to my daughter. The salad was yummy. The steak and broccoli (which was cooked from fresh, not frozen), was yummy. But, I did decide to go ahead and have one small glass of wine. My sister and her husband tried it and liked it, so they bought a bottle and we all shared from that bottle. A little later, my brother and my 84-year-old mother tasted it and decided to buy another bottle. LOL Mom only had a small amount, but they both really liked it as well. (I'm telling you, it's a REALLY good wine!) Still, I only had the one glass, which I considered my "carb" that I sipped through my meal. However, I know that the wine is more than just a carb - it's also alcohol, which is the first fuel used by the body before carbs, fats, or proteins. So yes, I am up 0.6 this morning to 137.6. That's not a horrible jump, and I suspect if I behave well today, that'll go back down some. But, I also ate my entire 6 oz. filet - it was SO good! Like butter (all steaks are NOT created equal!). And 6 oz. is just an oz. shy of what we consume in P2. But, the doctor did tell me he wanted me to definitely up my daily protein now that I'm no longer on HCG to protect my heart. So, I don't feel bad about that, either, as I never even had lunch (just was never hungry until we finally had supper).
Last night was a very, very rare occasion, as my family just doesn't "go out" like that. Plus, we had a few friends join us, and the musician performing at the winery was also a friend of the family. So, I don't feel guilty. I don't even feel bad about my 7/10ths increase. At least not today. If it continues to increase without me being able to get control of it, then I might decide it was a mistake. But I feel like I would have had an increase just from the amount of food I ate. It was a lot of steak and broccoli! But I truly enjoyed the rare evening out with my family and friends. |

Just a quick check-in. I'm at my one-week mark of P3.
Yesterday I was 136.6 (my LDW was 138.4). I spent the ENTIRE day "back-to-school" shopping with my girls yesterday (they start MONDAY!). By the time I collapsed into bed last night, it was after 11PM and I was sore and aching. I expected a two-pound gain this morning. I was only 137.0. I'm a little nervous that had I not been shopping yesterday, I would have been below 136.6. I may still be actually losing, so I think I'm going to have to really ramp up my calories or something. I know this sounds so lame, but I have just been going non-stop and eating just hasn't been a big priority. This is NOT typical of my normal life, so I need to eat like I *normally* would (which is low-carb, anyway). |

But, I have some semi-bad news. Evidently, my gall bladder is on the fritz. It was bothering me slightly before I did the HCG, but I didn't really realize that's what it was. During HCG, it didn't bother me at all, but I never consciously thought, "Oh, my gall bladder isn't bothering me" because I didn't realize what it was before and it was just random times that it would ache. I just thought I had random tummy aches. Well, during HCG, I wasn't eating any fats, so that's why it wasn't bothering me. When I started P3 and added back in the fats, it began hurting really badly (worse than before), and non-stop. Eventually, I actually had what I suppose they refer to as "an attack." I am going in for an ultrasound on Thursday to look for stones, as it could be stones or it could be low function. Either way, I don't want to lose my gallbladder if I can find a way to improve the health of it, so I am planning to talk with my thyroid doctor, who is an "outside the box" type of doctor. Most doctors just say, "take it out." Well, it's there for a reason and I'm afraid if I lose it, I will end up fighting weight gain (as I've witnessed in others I've known who have lost theirs) even worse than I am now, not to mention potential problems with my pancreas, liver, and digestive health. However, this has put me in a position where I'm afraid to do another round of HCG. Not because I think there's anything wrong with HCG, but because I believe, for me, the low-fat phase, followed by a return of fats in P3 is what threw me into the attack. So essentially, I don't want to follow any low-fat diet that causes my gall bladder to stagnate because it has nothing to do. After all the years of research I've done on healthy diets, I've come to the conclusion that healthy fats aren't the enemy, but hydrogenated fats and carbs are the problem. Until I get my ultrasound and then talk to the doctor for a plan of action, I've been consuming cucumbers done up in apple cider vinegar, ginger, and some herbal teas that are specific for digestive health; these seem to be helping. *sigh* I'm honestly rather depressed over this and sick of the problems my body has handed me year after year. All I've ever wanted was total and complete health and it feels like the harder I try, the more curve balls I get. I was really looking forward to doing one more round to reach an ideal weight and now I feel like my body has taken that away from me. Last edited by MoonDansyr; 08-14-2012 at 07:12 AM.. |
