heavy cream in coffee on steak day?

Is it okay that I have cream in my coffee on a steak day? Or no?
Thanks!

P2 or P3/4?

P2 No.

P3/4 - the posts for P3 steak CDs I've seen say no dairy, however, I have had hwc in coffee/frappes on P3 steak CDs and have been fine - YMMV.

I did a CD yesterday and had over 5 tbs of HWC for the day (equaled to 3 huge bowls of "my" version of a cafe au lait lol) and I still lost 1.5 pounds. I am on P4.
All my rounds however, when doing a CD I still had my coffee and hwc and still lost over a pound on all different kinds of CD. I think it is a non issue since you cook your food for a CD in high fat, ie, butter or coconut oil Plus I think I would murder someone if I didn't have my coffee with cream

No issues for me with two tbsp of HWC in two servings of coffee, but I do try to limit it unless I'm really hungry and forestalling digging into my steak. Half the point of the steak cd is the fasting component so I take that seriously and have my coffee as 'dessert' rather than 'breakfast' unless I'm ready to eat my arm off.

Newbie with a question. I'm in P2. I was told that the tbsp of milk had to be fat free. That is correct right? I can't use low fat or full fat milk in my coffee can I? (Secretly hoping you say yes although I'm pretty sure I know the answer!)

Hon, Dr Simeons never specified which milk we were to have on P2. One assumes that it is skim milk. I prefer to ride this one blindly and use cream (don't throw things!). I do split my whipping cream with fat free though, I am trying so hard to get less fat in my daily coffee on P2. I would have skim milk going bad in my fridge (and have had some go bad when I first started P2) because my family drinks whole milk. Call me a rebel!!! It is THE one thing I allow myself on P2 that is technically maybe not on plan.

REBEL! Dawn, you're such a rebel...

I disagree with Dawn on this one. (Love ya girl!) I don't think that we should have cream on P2. JMHO

Thanks! I figured it meant skim... I originally bought 2% and then went back and exchanged for fat free. Of course fat free is like water in my coffee and I've been doing LC (Atkins and WW) for months and using heavy cream so it's a tough one to get used to. But I am all about doing this 100% according to protocol so I'll stick to FF until P3 then maybe go to 1 or 2%

Oh, no!! In P3 you have to use heavy cream. Do NOT use anything less. 1 or 2% is not good in P3.

I use whole milk, as that seems the most likely product Simeons was discussing in P2. P3 is heavy cream and full fat yogurt only until I stabilize, then I can try some slightly low fat products if I want. But we want to kee the milk sugars to a minimum in P3 and the fat to a minimum in P2. Skim to whole would all be copasetic in P2, but I would NOT do half n half, heavy cream, or non dairy creamer on strict protocol.

Agree. The more fat the better in P3.

I am going to use milk tomorrow If I cannot drink it, then no more coffee. I can do without for 2 weeks and just do teas. That is when my round is up!

Good compromise! Chair tea works very well with that one tbsp and a little vanilla sf coffee syrup

Then don't drink coffee - that fat free creamer stuff is terrible for you, and the purpose of the milk on the protocol isn't to make coffee tolerable, but to keep us from developing overreactions to the reintroduction of certain nutrients in maintenance. If you must substitute, use rice or almond milk, but not frankenfood, if you can help it

Thanks for the heads up about Half and Half in P3.

I haven't looked too much into P3 yet but it sounds similar to atkins (High Fat, LC) which I'm familiar with. Prior to this I did Atkins (strict induction) for almost 4 months. Lost 20lbs which was good but I decided to go with HCG b/c Atkins stopped working and I want faster results!

I bought some chai green tea today at Target. I believe it was Stash Brand. I used a little bit of Vanilla Creme Stevia but didn't use the milk in it. Maybe I'll skip coffee from now on and just do the tea. Then resume my morning coffee in P3.

That's what I have done in my rounds...P3/P4 I'm having coffee with HWC (and thinking of SunnyFL's tag line!!!!)

In P2, it's water, water with flavored stevia, and decaf black tea with Lemon Drop flavored stevia...(hot or iced)

I just can't DO black coffee or coffee w/o HWC!
