Why.....

Is anyone having such problems to get started again?

I started in Feb, lost 40lbs. Am happy now, but I want to get down a bit more, but I have tried, three times, to start again.

This last time I loaded two days...didn't gain any weight. And gave up after a few days of it. I know alot has to do with will power. I just can't seem to get myself back into the swing of it. And this morning I haven't been taking the pellets or anything, haven't even watched what I have been eating, heck, yesterday I ate fried chicken and mashed potatos, cajun rice and bisquits and lost 2.5 lbs! I mean what the heck body! THe only thing out of the norm I had yesterday was a large shot of wheat grass and a health protein shake.

I did that Atkins back in 2003. I lost a lot of weight in 2003 and then gained it back. I tried to get back on it the same year, but failed each time. I was more successful lately, but hated how it made me feel.

It definitely can be a mind thing. I just started HCG, but I understand how you feel about dieting. Maybe pick a date on the calendar and mark off how many days you want to do P2 and get started? Totally commit

Sometimes our bodies DO stall, but this sounds more mental rather than physical. I promise I don't mean to sound all high and mighty or like I'm lecturing you, but this is the first time in my entire life that instead of just thinking of it as a temporary diet, I think of it as a life style. Think about your body like a car. Would your car run well if you were putting dirty oil into it? Would your body run well with a dirty engine filter? No way.

Your body is not designed to eat fried chicken and biscuits, whether you lose weight while doing so or not. The longer you can stick to putting healthy foods in your body, the easier it becomes. The reason I don't eat bread or cheese now is not because of the HCG diet, it's because I've realized how much better life is without it. So even when I'm down to my goal weight, I STILL won't be eating those things. Because when I do, I pay for it dearly. That's not to say I don't ever cheat or have a rough day. Its just much easier to WANT to be healthy now.

Remember that your weight is not necessarily a reflection of your overall health. I found out I had high cholesterol when I was 18 and I wasn't even that much overweight. My father has very high cholesterol and is at a perfect weight.

Really think about what you're doing to your body internally when you eat those sorts of foods. Remind yourself that you deserve to live a long healthy life. I seriously cannot imagine jumping into the HCG diet from the way I was eating before. I had to do it slowly. First I did no bread. Then I did no dairy. Then I did no starchy things (like potatoes). Then I did Atkins and now I'm onto the HCG. It was a slow but steady progression for me.

If you want something bad enough, you'll do it. If you don't, then you won't. Simple. Sometimes we all need some tough love.

Oh no it didn't sound rude or anything, sometimes all we need is tough love and a swift kick in the butt. LOL. But I didn't want it to make it sound like I usually eat those kinds of foods. I don't, heck I only got that cause husband had a craving for it and the kids wanted it and it is not something I usually eat. I never eat anything fried. I have since the first time I started HCG, don't eat startchy foods and french fries actually make me sick to eat them. I stick to my protein shakes etc.

My problem is with work, I work all day long with no chances of breaks and dinner usually has to come late at night after 10pm which I usually chose not to eat then.

Tonya, I should write a book about restarts on the hcg. I got to my goal weight and gained Every single round since then, to get back to goal weight has been a disaster I have trouble starting, when I do, I end up cheating once the first week is over, I give up and end my round, not even close to where I want to be. I have BTDT girlfriend

I think Manders is right when she says if you want it bad enough you will do it! I have vacation in a bit and my goal is to wear my bikini for my birthday ........again Having a goal is something I can do--even if it is a short termed one. I mean I am on a tight deadline, but that is what usually gets me going. I don't have time to cheat! Of course this is being said when I am still in my first week of P2. I plan on having this attitude in the next week as well. For me, the goodies on P3 and P4 that I have been enjoying have been calling my name, even if they are not in the house I know what awaits me when I am done. I want them and don't want to wait til P3 to get them. Ah, the mindset. I will do this!! So can you!!

Oh, PS: dh is on R3 VLCD28 and has lost 20 pounds this round so far. I am sooooooo proud of him. He is no longer on any diabetes medication and his blood pressure is running 119/62!!!!! (as of yesterday). He's now lost a total of 72 pounds since last November and R1.

Tonya-

I hear ya ! This past year I have started and stopped 4-5 times. I gear up for starting a round and then look for excuses to stop. Right now I am on vacation- of course I wish that I had stuck with it in the spring, because I'm now in my bathing suit alot !

For the past few weeks, I have been trying to decide whether or not to start again, or do Atkins and then do a round. Until I decide, I am basically doing nothing ! UGH.

Atkins would be more conducive for vacation, but slower going....... If I start HCG now, I could be down 20 lbs. by this time next month..... the thing is, I haven't been able to even stick with induction right now !

I do Rx shots and do not want to have to go back for more- (nothing to do with the $, all about pride !)

I understand !!!!!!!!
